Univers Designer Connection SSO

Hi,
I have installed BO and the SAP Integration Kit. I have also configured Client Side and Server Side SSO and all work well except from one litte thing. I login to Univers Designer with authentication AD and create a SSO connection to the sap system. This works if I login the first time with username/password and switch then to SSO.
This first time BO creates an entry in the user properties which is called "Enable Database Credentials" and save the password.
If a user wants to use the univers in Infoview he also has to fill out username/password which is saved into his BO user properties.
The normal users in our company have no password. We use completely SSO with smartcardlogin.
How does it work with SSO users when password is not required?

-Business Explorer (SAP Netweaver2004s)
I've tested my client with another server succesfully. So what I''ll check is:
- allow external access check
But if I don't have access I don't know why a error message still appears.
any ideas?

Univers Designer : JZ0C1, IOException closed the connection

Hi !
We get a very strange error when we work in Univers Designer (we're in BO 4.1) when we're working with Derived Table.
For some reason when we edit a Derived table in a universe (connected to a Sybase database), we received an error message "JZ0C1" saying that we get an IOException and it's closed the connection.
We get the error message when we click on "Check Syntax" Button in the edit window of the derived table.

This can mean that the target end has already closed without reading all the data you are trying to send.

Default ConnectInit settings in BO univers Designer

I have set up a connection in BO univers designer to include the connecInit parameter for auditing the BO users.
The settings for the parameter is this:
begin set_id('@BOUSER'); Commit; end;
this works fine and the audit in oracle is perfect.
But since we have ca 20 diferent universes, and since we have ca 20 diferent usergroups with 20 diferent connection, and more to come... I was hoping there was a way to sett this parameter as a default.
for eksampel when you create a new connection i BO this ConnectInit parameter is set automatically. This way it wont be forgot when creating a new connection.
Is is possible to set the ConnectInit parameter as a default on the connections in BO?

I am trying to achieve the same as you, but it seems like text variables in restricted key figures do not work. I am using BO XI3.1 SP3 and SAP BW 7.01 SP6.
A work-around for me has been to use the "user response" function in webi to create a webi variable that holds the dynamic text title. If the user inputs Jan 2010, I change the input to a date using the "user response" and "ToDate" functions in the webi variable editor. After changing the input to a date I use the RelativeDate to extract 1 month (e.g. 25 days) from the user input. Then I have both Jan 2010 and Dec 2010 as webi variables to use as headers for my restricted key figures.
The formulas can easily become a little long, but by tweaking the user response string, you should be able to get dynamic headings by using webi functionality. But be aware that you need one webi variable for each dynamic heading if you use this method.

How to use Designer connect BW Query?

    My BO Designer connect BW Query, Can't connt my custom cube's query ( my cbue save on "IA_InfoArea" InfoArea), I find one standard cube "0SD_C01" Cube's query could connt .
    Why custom CUBE of the QUERY can not display and connect?
    How to solve that?
My bo server is BO XI3.1 SP1.
BW server is " SAPKW70019 SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0 ".

Along those i can see some folders like Sales Overview (0SD_C03) and BEx queries under that folder of target 0SD_C03. My doubt is why it is not showing InfoArea and Query which created in BW. "

You can use autorization variables in SAP BW and maitain the security there, using that you can apply diferent security not only at Infoobject levet you can apply security per BEX Query.

Designer connection error : error getting a list of catalogs

Hi!
The message window : "DBD:a runtime exception has ocurred (error getting a list of catalogs: unknown error)" appears after entering all SAP login parameters in a Universe Designer connection creation. The list of querys/cubes appears empty.
The sap login parameters work in SAP GUI and Bex Query Designer
Do I need any other privilege?

Jabber/WebEx Connect SSO Questions

I've got a few questions around exactly what needs to be done to get SAML working for our Connect accounts to successfully authenticate from Jabber for Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android.
We have both a Meeting Center and Connect account under WebEx using Loose Coupled Integration. Just this past week I enabled SAML for our Meeting Center accounts which went off without a hitch with the exception of Meeting Center integration with Jabber, which is now broken with a message about SSO enabled Meeting Sites not being supported (I think this would maybe be fixed if we had Tight Coupled Integration with our two account?).
Anyway, my questions are...
For Windows, I understand all clients will need to be reinstalled with the MSI argument for the SSO_ORG_DOMAIN switch I've read about, is that correct? Are there any other switches needed for the reinstall?
How will this work with the Mac and mobile clients? There's obviously no command line options to specify for the installations here, will they just know to kick over to my IdP for authentication once they see an email address that falls under an org with SSO enabled? If so, why does the Windows client need to be completely reinstalled and not just know to find the IdP from the Cloud Connect service like Meeting Center does with the Productivity Tools?
We're just doing this for our Connect Web IM accounts, not attempting any sort of SSO with the phone accounts/UC integration yet.
Any ideas on getting the Meeting Center integration into Jabber working again?

IB Design: Connection to server lost

Hi
After upgraded to SP16 stack, when I try to create new Business System in Intergration Builder Design, the connection always lost and prompted for password, the message is as below:
Connection to server lost
You can log on again once the server is available again Do you want to log on again?
What has been wrong? The upgrade done without any error.

To analyze the error further, perform the following steps:
1. Activate the logging on the affected client as described in note 912414.
2. Analyze the log file if it contains the following error messages:
com.sap. engine.services.security.exceptions.BaseLoginException: Cannot create new RemoteLoginContext.
Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException at com.sap.engine.services.security.remote.RemoteSecurity_Stub.getRemoteLoginContext(RemoteSecurity_Stub.java:607)

Application designer connection to App Server

After login in App designer (in 2 tier mode), when I am shutting down App server (normal mode), I am getting this error only one time.
So my confusion here is how App designer debugging feature depends on App server?

Using SSO to connect to database from J2EE

I have an SSO enabled J2EE application and an SSO enabled database and I can connect to both of these applicatins using the single sign-on account.
What I want to know is
How do you get a J2EE application to connect to the database with the already connected SSO credentials?
I am using Oracle 10g for both the app server and database

SSO with Query Designer

Hi all,
I need to add a link to SAP Query Designer in Portal that will launch Query Designer using SSO.
We have SSO with R/3 and with BI already implemented (the user will click on the link and launch SAP GUI without having to type username/password), but we don't know how to do that for Query Designer.
Can anyone help us? Is there any documentation on the subject that we didn't find?

Connect Oracle Developer / Designer to Oracle 10g XE database

I have installed the Oracle 10g XE database on my PC. Also on the same computer I have installed Oracle 10g Developer Suite (Designer, Forms etc). The database runs ok without problem. However I cannot connect Designer to the database. I know a listner program (e.g. tsn listner) has to be installed for the purpose of connecting to the database. When starting the XE database a listner program also is started.
My question:
What do I have to do inorder to have the Designer connect to the XE database?

Is there any changes should I do?!Well sorry but I don't know. This sugesstion to copy sqlnet.ora file resolve my problems to connect with Developer 6i to 10g, but that is 10g EE in my office, not XE at home...
Anyway your sqlnet.ora file look like very "default" but maybe is that O.K. on XE?

Note: SAP Server is running but still we are not able to connect from TIBCO Designer. Few times it's able to connect and few time it will throw an error while connecting to SAP Server.

Hi,
Since you are able to connect, seems the issue with network instability.
1) Create an RFC connection and perform the connection test. Note down the time taken (milli seconds), a notable delay also can be the cause of the issue.
2) Do the ping from Tibco system to SAP and note down the time taken
3)Also check the firewalls in between the two systems and check the valid access
You may need Nework admin teams help to cross check these.
