Universal password error Windows client

Attempting to set up forgotten password. I am able to enter in challenge questions - answers, but when I use the "Did you forget your password" and I receive an error of " This Forgotten Password Policy uses an action that is not supprot by Novell Client for Windows. Please contact your System Administrator." this is occuring on Novell Client 2 SP2 for Windows 7.

What action did you select for the forgotten password, and what version of eDir?

  • Windows client error joining with Samba 4.2 Active Directory server

I have a basic samba 4.2 ADC setup on CentOS 7 and I get a RPC server not available whenever I attempt to join a windows client to the domain. The smb.conf is default on created during provisioning. All indicated pre-testing seems to work as expected. The windows client finds the domain and recognizes a valid user or not but the last step of joining the domain ends with the error "Unable to join the Domain RPC server not available. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks Paul

I have a scenario for you in active directory when two passwords may be valid:
Old passwords can also work on domain controllers that have not received replication yet from either the domain controller the password was changed on, or the PDC emulator in the domain.
    Let's take a scenario where we have a 3 site, 3 domain controller (DC) active directory: Site1 with DC1, site2 with DC2 and site3 with DC3.
The ACS application resides in Site3 and is configured to use DC3 for authentication. We have a user "user1" with a password of "123".
User1 decides to call the helpdesk and changes his password to "456".
The helpdesk uses DC1 to make password changes because they are located in site1. For a period of time (based on replication, which defaults to 3 hours between sites) the 123 password and the 456 password will be
    valid.
If the user1 user tries the "123" password it will work until DC3 receives the changed password from normal replication. If user1 tries to use 456, DC3 will flag this as a wrong password, and then check the PDC
emulator of the domain to see if it has received a newer password. The PDC emulator will validate the login, and then trigger an immediate replication with DC3.

  • SQL*Loader-704 & ORA-12535 error , Oracle 9i AIX, Windows Client

    Hi All,
I try to run SQL*Loader from Windows Client to Oracle 9i server on AIX. The control file is in the windows machine.
    C:\SqlLdr user/password@myoradb control=mycontrol.ctl
(the data is 300,000 rows, on the same control file)
    I get this error :
    SQL*Loader-704 : Internal error : ulconnect: OCIServerAttach [0]
    ORA-12535: TNS:Operation timed out.
FYI, from the same machine, TNSPing is OK, SQL*Plus run perfectly.
    What is wrong here ?
Should I copy the CTL file into the AIX Server and run the SQL*Plus from AIX client console ?
    Thank you for your help,
    Krist

Have you checked the sqlnet.log file for an indication of the underlying error? You can also enable network tracing in the sqlnet.ora file, by setting trace_level_client=16.

  • ORA-12571 error while creating packages from Windows clients

    Hello,
We are facing the ORA-12571 error while creating / replacing packages from Windows Clients connected to a 8.1.7.2.0 db on a Solaris server.
    However, there are
    1. no errors in connecting and creating transactions from a Sql session
    2. no errors in creating / replacing unwrapped/wrapped small (few lines) packages
    3. no errors in connecting from a Unix session (remote telnet sessions inclusive).
This happens only when creating wrapped/unwrapped packages, source code of which is greater than 500 kb approx.
Can somebody help me resolve this issue. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards.
    Lakshmanan, K

Update: I had unintentionally left my custom tablespace in READONLY state after an earlier experiment with transportable tablespaces. After putting the tablespace back into READ WRITE mode and creating a new template, I was successfully able to create a new db from the template.
I'm still a little curious why this procedure wouldn't work properly with a READONLY tablespace, however.

Make sure you use the exp command that matches with the database version that you are trying to export from.

  • Client Security Solutions wants to synchronise passwords with Windows

For some reason Client Security Solutions wants to synchronise passwords with Windows. I managed to get rid of this request years ago but it has returned. My problem is that I can't remember what my windows password is. How can I stop ThinkVantage from making this request each time I boot up my computer?

C'mon, Lenovo!  I'm the original poster on this...your original response was that Password Manager doesn't work on Google Chrome because they don't support extensions...but they have in their latest release since at least 5 months ago!!

    Hi
If you browse the forum there are a number of posts similar to yours. See here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxserver1053comboupdate.html
I would make sure you have a fallback position first before applying the update as well as going for a manual download rather than using Software Update. By fallback I mean a bootable clone of the Server prior to the update. Try not to clone a 'live' Server.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1142
Explains what the update 'fixes'. Of particular interest is:
    File Services
Addresses an issue that could cause the AppleFileServer process to stop accepting connections while
consuming most of the available CPU time on the server.
The smb.conf file is updated to include the line "acl check permissions = no" in order to provide
expected permissions behavior for Windows clients connecting to the SMB service.
It's not something I would do but you could forego the update and amend the smb.conf instead.

  • Agentry - Field alignment errors in Windows client

I'm running WM6.1 on the 7.03.605 Windows client and I've been unable to find any solution to field values aligning on top while their labels are aligned to the base of the line. This is somewhat noticeable at the default window size and glaringly obvious if the window is maximized on a larger screen such as 1920x1080.
Is there any option other than rebuilding these screens so they have separate label entries floating above the field values?
The screenshot shows how bad this is. I've drawn a red box around two of the fields to show just how much higher they are than their corresponding label.
    Tags edited by: Michael Appleby

    Hi Chris,
if I remember correctly, the alignment is "correct" for object properties that do not have the "Word Wrap" option checked. A workaround for object properties with "Word Wrap" enabled is the following:
    - change the fields object property to :>Main Object>"DummyNoWrap" Property where the DummyNoWrap Property is a String Property that has no "Word Wrap" enabled.
    - add an update rule that updates the field with the property you want to display on that field
I do not think this will work on transaction screens, but maybe it covers your problem.

We have created and worked on multiple projects for 2-3 weeks without problem before this morning.
The fact is that we can login and access to the database and projects with the Web client.

It is pointless, and just adds to the confusion, to name your listener anything other than the default name of LISTENER

Client requests to 'localhost' (or its ip address of 127.0.0.1) never leave the client machine.  Hence, any listener configured for that address will never receive a request from any other machine.

  • Reg:APP-FND-01516:invalid username or password error

    Hi all,
I have installed two instances(test, vision) of oracle financial application 11i.for vision instance, every thing is working properly.for test instance, after logging in using sysadmin/sysadmin in IE5.0,an error comes after the applet has started.i am not able to start the tns80listnerAPP_TEST also.
    error:
APP-FND-01516:invalid username or password or database
    i couldn't trap the error.
    please help me!!!!!

    Haresh,
I updated followings as forms was showing error.I get a pop up when I run 11i on OEL5 in Firefox version 3.0.10 & message "No suitable plugins were found. Unknown Plugins (application/x-java-applet:jpi-version=1.4.2_04)"Are you able to access it using IE?
So I installed sun jre-6u13-linux-i586-rpm and updated as follow
    #cd /oracle/prodcomn/html/bin
    #vi appsweb_PROD.cfg
#update to 1.6.13 from 1.4.2_04 at two places
    #cd /oracle/prodappl/fnd/11.5.0/resource
    #vi appsweb_PROD.cfg
#update to 1.6.13 from 1.4.2_04 at two places
    #restart application services and database.
Then the form was opened but gives error "APP-FND-01516:Invalid application username, password, or database"
Database and the database listener are up and running. The right procedure to configure Sun JRE with 11i is outlined in the following document.

why is it not using the sys user for this connection?  I don't see a user parameter in the emca help.
Any suggestions? Do zi need to install the 32 bit Oracle client?

  • Cisco Jabber for Windows Client SDK

Is there an SDK for Cisco Jabber for Windows client? I could only find the Web SDK. Are there no other SDKs that would let me control features of the Jabber Windows Client?

And in order to avoid TAPI limitation, they say they have started using Jabber which controls all phone functionalities through an Application User connected to the Call Manager.
Assuming they are referring to the normal Jabber for Windows/Mac/iOS/Android applications then this is wrong. Jabber - the client, not the IM&P servers which are part of the CUCM cluster (if you're familiar with Lync consider CUCM+IM&P servers a Front End Pool) - do not use an Application User at all. When a user starts Jabber, assuming SAML SSO is off, they supply an email address. This is used to find the servers via DNS SRV records, or the Mobile and Remote Access Expressway (roughly analogous to a Lync Edge pool) to tunnel through the firewall. After the email address they are prompted for their End User username and password. This is then used to access several APIs on the server, namely the User Data Service to discover what the user has. This would include what the user has configured/available to them. After this is done the Jabber client does one of three things with respect to phone functionality:
If the user has no phone devices provisioned for them - physical or software - it becomes an IM&P client only.
If the user has a software phone phone provisioned, it registers as that using SIP. In this way Jabber is the actual phone. This is called a CSF device for Jabber Windows/OS X.
If the user has a desk phone assigned to their End User account AND administrative policy is to default to desk phone control, it registers to CTI Manager on the CUCM server to control the user's physical phone.
A user can toggle between option two and three, if appropriately provisioned, but cannot have both simultaneously. In other words, Jabber is either controlling a physical phone over CTI or is a phone itself using SIP. The difference is where the audio/video media is sent from/to.
All of this happens using that human's End User credentials.
Now, if you wanted to have a server control the user's phone - either a physical one or Jabber - you would use the TSP as an interface to CTI Manager on the CUCM server and receive real-time events (e.g. the user went off-hook, the phone is ringing with this caller ID, etc.) and issue commands to that phone (e.g. make a call to X). This is done using an Application User account because the server would need to do this for multiple users simultaneously. If you also use the Super Provider concept, the CUCM administrator doesn't have to take the extra step of associating every phone to your Application User manually. Instead, you can simply issue CTI subscriptions to see any/all device activity you want.
This is all assuming you wanted to do the integration server-side to avoid having to update the Cisco TSP application on every user PC (which also limits your WPF application to machines capable of running the TSP) every time the CUCM administrator patches the servers. If you don't care about that, then you can do this all client-side on the user's PC, and have them supply their End User credentials.
Of course, you could also reconsider the Jabber SDK and just embed the make/receive call functionality directly into your application instead.
