Download and install the Chipset driver on the link below.

When complete, restart the notebook.
You may also need the usb 3.0 driver available from the following link.

No Universal Serial Bus Controller Found

Just got a 7th gen Nano, worked fine for 2 weeks or so. Then all of the sudden I'm having trouble syncing the thing. Everything else works fine, but it just won't sync. When I plug it in, I'm getting "USB device not recognized" in every port that I try to plug it into.
I tried every stop outlined in the support articles, from resetting, restarting, reinstalling, doing things with device manager, etc, etc. Nothing has worked.
But now, I was just running iTunes diagnostics and I noticed something interesting. iTunes reports:

I bolded it.
Does that mean that iTunes is not even recognizing that my USB drives exist? I have tested my USB drives and they work fine with other things (flash drives, keyboard/mouse, etc.), even my Droid phone... just not with the Nano.
Any ideas? Desperate here.

It sounds like your iPod is not showing in iTunes when you connect it and that is what is not allowing you to sync. Please review the attached article to help you troubleshoot this connection.

Universal serial bus controller problem

can you help me? my laptop type is hp 430. i , can't connect flashdisk, mouse, joystick and everything i plug into usb port is not working. i tried open device manager and the universal serial bus controllers is nothing. everyhing is not there, like intel(R) ICH9 etc. is nothing. what should i do? help please

Hi:
Download and just unzip the Intel file I posted. Don't run the exe.
Go to the device manager and click on the USB controller needing drivers.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.
The hardware ID for the USB controller is listed in the setup information file so I know this is the right driver.

Please, I need te Universal Serial Controller Driver for my Computer.

What chipset is in it? if you dont know download CPUID (CPU ID) install, it will breakdown your info. or specy from Piriform that will give you all also and go from there. lookat the mobo info for the chipset and get drivers (dont use a driver installer/locator program) go to the mngf and get it there.

I am looking for a Win 7 x64 compatible driver for my USB controller I believe it relateto USB3 port for my Pavilion 23 b125d.
This is the only item I can't find a driver for since I can't find any specs to even tell me what the chipset is for the desktop.
The device that I can't find a driver is: PCI bus 2, device 0, function 0

Welcome and Thank you for posting your query on HP Support Forum
It looks like you are facing issues with regards to the USB Ports on the Notebook
Please perform the below shown steps to resolve the issue:
1. Now from within Windows (I assume you have Vista or Windows 7) go into device manager and find the USB hub(s) right click and go into properties/advanced. You will have the option to reset the hub. Do it for all hubs and restart the Unit.
2. Go into the BIOS (F10) and restore to default settings. Reboot.

Note: If this still does not work, then your option is to have the motherboard repaired or replaced or just get a USB external hub so you can have more ports.

I cannot find that model number anywhere.
Does it have an Intel or AMD processor?
If it has an Intel processor is it a 3rd or 4th generation core processor.
Also, please do the following and I will post the link to the driver for the unknown device once I figure out what it is...
Go to the device manager, find the Other Devices category, and click on the Unknown Device needing drivers.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Unknown Device window.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that and select the second item on the list (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters you see in the window.

First install the amd chipset driver and reboot. You want the first file listed on the webpage.
That will install the smbus controller.

Resource Conflict – Serial Bus Controller & PCI Bus Issues - Cannot Load Windows 7 - PLEASE HELP!

Anyone have any ideas about a remedy? I am ready to toss it and purchase another. THANKS! HP Pavilion Notebook, dv9827clAMD Turion 64 x 2, Bios F.34Windows 7, SP 1 (Upgraded from OEM Vista SP2) PROBLEM: This morning my system has a blank illuminated screen. Upon power-on, the system eventually goes to the blank screen. Can get to BIOS functions, but beyond that it will not load Windows 7. System was working with Windows 7 prior to this issue. No recent changes or updates made to this system. Stationary - No physical abuse. Five (5) years old. Upon power-on, the screen gives PF keys, which enable me to enter the BIOS: F1 – System Information > Clock still has correct date and time. F2 – Startup Check -> Both HD and RAM OK F9 – Change Boot Device Order -> Can change device order, but it still won’t boot or respond to a System Recovery DVD in a USB DVD. ( Notebook DVD stopped working before this problem happened.) F10 - Enter Setup F11 – System Recovery – Two choices, but <enter> and arrow keys do not work. (They DO work with other F-selections, but not with F-11 menu) (1) Continue with System Resume (2) Delete Restoration Data and Proceed to System Boot OTHER OBSERVATION: When access PF1, I get the BIOS. If I exit and save with PF10, I get a brief flash of error messages, then it goes back to the PF-selections and eventually to the blank screen.
