Hey here,
Choice>>1
In that case you have to go with Web Intelligence Rich Client tools Santhosh V.
Windows based Application and Which will carries almost all the functionalities of DeskI.
I mean you have to create them in BOXI 3.1 (WRC) and Export the reports to repository. To view them from Infoview.
Choice>>2
Develop them in DeskI (if User wants them to see in DeskI only) on BOXI 3.1 & export.
Choice>>3
Design Universe for that (Personal DP's) and Point the Universe for existing reports(DeskI) & now Use Import wizard to migrate them to BOXI 3.1.
Hope it clears all your doubts.
Gracias...!!

  • BO 4.0 Content Migration - Universe not Found

    Good Day Experts!
I'm about to quit my job and open a beach bar in Hawaii - please help.
We're in the process upgrading to BO 4.0. Installed the software (base and patch 8) successfully on our new production server - migrated our content successfully with the upgrade manager from our old production box to the new production box - changed the links and ALL is fine.
We completed the same steps above for our dev server - base installation and patch 8 is successful and content was migrated to this new dev server - BUT - for some unexplainable reason - we cannot refresh data in our dashboards and webi's - and get an error that says "Document failed to load - Universe not found".  When you go into Universe Designer and CMC - all universes are there :(............We decided to REMIGRATE the content to this dev server.
This migration is now FAILING -  The upgrade manager completes all steps except the last step: Committing Objects and returns an error: "The upgrade process has been interrupted by an error: Cannot find the user, group or object 10672. The server supplied the following details: OCA_Abuse exception 4 at exceptionmapper.cpp:79. Cannot find the user, group or object, canu2019t get applicable rights"
Your assistance and advice on the above will be MUCH appreciated.

You need to find out what is object 10672 !
You can do this in Query Builder of your source system. With query like select * from ci_infoobjects, ci_systemobjects, ci_appobjects where si_id=10672
As to the original error of not found universe - it might be due to the fact that in this source env (dev) your dashboards and reports do not have a proper link to universes...  After migration have you tried to edit reports and point them to the right universe, refresh and re-publish ?
If your prod migration was OK, why not use BI4.0 prod env as template for your dev and move its content to your dev BI4 using LCM and start BI4 dev process from that ?

  • Universe not Found ... (Error: WIS 00501)

    Hi experts
At a certain point in time, a pretty complex WebI report  lost its connection to the universe... I got following error message:
Universe not found. See your Business Objects administrator. (Error: WIS 00501)
What can I do to fix this. Other reports on that Universe seem to run fine... Only one report fails. Funny that also all other versions of that report seem to have te same problem... (I kept all versions between blanco and the actual report during development) This is the second time I have this issue, last time I rebuilt the whole report...
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks in advance !!
    P

Well, I do not think there is a specific document, but if you read Admin guide, upgrade guides/import wizard guides you'll see that the product relies heavily on CUID persistance. Once object is created and linked to other objects, like universe and its reports - those CUID's have to stay the same for product to work correctly.
CUID changes if you copy object , then delete original
if you delete original and create new one with same name.
If you save universe without security(for all users) and then export it back into enterprise...
So you have to create process during your development that ensures CUID of universes stays the same.

  • WEBI Error " Universe not found"

When refreshing a webi report from infoview on QA client I get the following error; Universe not found, see your business objects  administrator (Error: WIS 00501).
Anybody with a suggestion please help

    Hi,
When using the migration wizard, you may experience this error when trying to run a Web Intelligence report.
u201CUniverse not found (Error WIS 00501)u201D
One quick solution that seems to work for me is that you need to:
    1. close the u201CUniverse not found (error WIS 00501)u201D error message
    2. Save the webi report
    3. close the browser
    4. Re-open the report and try again
Also try changing the user preferences and check u201Cno default universeu201D and that may allow the report to work.

    Hi guys,
After assigning the user authorisation in BO the user receive the following error when running the Webi reports. Please assist.
Other users with different authorisations do not receive this error.
universe not found. See your Business Objects administrator (Error: WS 00501)

    Hi,
looks like the user doesnt have the right for the universe. Did you set the right on universe level or on folder level where the universe is stored in?

  • Universe not found(contact BO administrator)

    Hi Every Body,
I  log on to  WEB INTELLIGENCE RICH CLIENT on my desktop. When i try to run the report it is showing error as "Universe not found(contact BO administrator)".Could you help what might be the reason for this error.
    Regards,
    Swapna.

    Hi Swapna,
What I think might have happened here is that at some point you associated the WebI report with a local copy of the universe.
When you do a save as... it will be treated as a new universe.
Also it will move physically to a different location.
Now when you export the universe later and BO detects the universe is already there, you will be asked if you want to overwrite that universe.
If you say yes the universe will move again physically from the 'local universes' spot to the 'CMC universes' spot.
So if you created or ran your WebI report on the local universe, it will still try to look for that, cannot find it and raise the error.
On a different PC you will not have touched the WebI report and it will be still pointing to the CMC version of the universe, if there is a newer version it will get imported and the report will run as usual with the new version.
So some advice given before is solid. It helps to just clear the user directories of universes and webi reports and import them fresh when you need to. A little caution with just deleting since there might be work that isn't exported yet.
So what also helps is to just point the user directories to a different spot, so you can always fall back on the original versions too.
Clear the universe copy and webi document, or point to fresh directories,
import the webi document and it will import the associated universe if you run it,
just like it did on the fresh different pc.
    Good luck,
    Marianne

  • ZRS: Universe Not Found Error

I have a customer who recently has started to see the error "U niverse not found. See your Business Objects administrator. (Error: WIS 00501)" when trying to run and existing report or create a new report. The primary server supporting ZRS has been rebooted to no effect. The one TID on the topic in the Novell Knowledgebase (7009370) notes a problem with insufficient free space on the drive where ZRS is installed; the customer reports 130 GB free on that disk - seems like that should be sufficient.
Notes on solutions discovered by other readers would be most appreciated.

I found a solution that worked for me:
    http://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7011400
Just run "novell-zenworks-configure -c UpdateBOE" on the reporting server.

  • BO4 - auit universe changing to oracle connection - table not found

    Hi,
We have found the BO4 sample audit universe on sdn and can open in IDT but when parse the objects says table not found.
The tables physically exist on database and when do insert in data foundation layer they are there.
Changed connection from mysql to our boaudit databse connection.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi Philip,
I suppose you have downloaded this link:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/40711187-04e8-2d10-d190-851e20c7665a
This contains only the Activity universes for Sybase and SQL Server but not Oracle. Unfortunately, every database requires its own Activity universe. I am afraid that you have to build your own.

The IPS 4255 sensor appliance has only a single 512 MB internal CompactFlash module for storage by-default, so this part of the output you posted is interesting:

    hdb: 484848 sectors (248 MB) w/1KiB Cache, CHS=481/16/63
As it appears that two (2) 256 MB ("248 MB") storage devices are being detected (despite the model of the first even containing "512MB" in its name).
I'd recommend double-checking that there is nothing installed in the "External compact flash device" slot located on the back of the appliance. See here for reference: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ips/7.0/installation/guide/hw_installing_4240_4255.html#wp2726
If there is a CompactFlash module installed there, eject and remove it, then power-cycle the appliance and attempt the re-image ("recovery") process once more. If the boot output still contains the same errors for hda and hdb, then it is probably a failing/failed CompactFlash module, so an RMA will likely be necessary to resolve.

I bought an iPhone 4gs 32gb from Singapore. iso 4. I'm living in Chennai, India. To connect it to my computer (windows XP,), I have downloaded iTunes 10.6.1.7. Unfortunately iTunes is not recognizing my iPhone.  I had tried to troubleshoot it by reinstalling iTunes (2 times). I have restarted the apple mobile device from control panel. I try connecting my iphone in another usb port. but no use. I don't know what am I missing?.  iTunes opens on my computer. but doesn't recognize my device. when I click on help. it says an "unknown error has occurred. your computer is not connected to internet. please check your internet connection and try again later". I don't know what to do? could you please help me? thank you so much for your help and time.
when I update the usb driver (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.Double-click the usbaapl file.) I have the same problem. I think that someone tried my iphone before me because when I want to reset it, I'm invited to enter a password that I didn't set. Also, when I go the Map application, the iphone indicate that I'm locateded in China while I'm in Tunisia. Now, I can't connect to my iphone to itunes, and I can't reset it because it ask me to enter a password that I didn't set.

  • Report not found in File Repository Server

I am looking for some guidance as to what to try next with this issue.
We had ran into some issues with the central management service and had to reinstall crystal. During the setup we are connecting to our mysql database and the reports and folder structure is restored in the Central Management Console but when the reports are previewed or scheduled to run they fail I receive the following message:
"File generated name.rpt not found on File Repository Server.
    Unable to retrieve Object.
File generated name.rpt not found on File Repository Server."
Has anyone came across this issue and if they could provide a solution would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

there are very many forum posts and SAp knowledge articles on this topic/error message. Please do use search before posting.
The repository that stores all your objects in Crystal is dual one part is int he DB - called CMS DB - it stores all te metadata, and second part is FRS (Input /Output servers) - they store actual physical reports and instances on the disc.
My guess is that during re-install you either wiped out original FRS location or after re-install didn't point your FRS to the right place.
If its second - all you need to do is point FRS to the right directory and you'll get your reports back.
If it's first - you just lost all your reports/universes etc.... and will need to restore from backup.

  • JRE not found, while installing Oracle 9i on Fedora Core 5

I am installing Oracle 9i on Fedora Core 5 from the following site.
    http://ivan.kartik.sk/oracle/install_ora9_fedora.html
The site asks me to Download the Java Runtime Enviroment (j2re-1_3_1_15-linux-i586.bin) from the Sun website.
extract the file and put it in /opt directory. And edit Disk1/install/linux/oraparam.ini and modify JRE_LOCATION variable to /opt/jre1.3.xx
I have downloaded JRE version jre1.3.1_19 as this is the version available from the sun site, and put it in the /opt directory.
    [oracle@localhost Disk1]$ cd /opt
    [oracle@localhost opt]$ ls -l
    total 24
    drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 Aug 19 2006 jre1.3.1_19
    My oraparam.ini settings are:
    [oracle@localhost ~]$ cat Disk1/install/linux/oraparam.ini
    [Oracle]
    JRE_LOCATION=/opt/jre1.3.1_19
However, after doing these changes when I use /home/oracle/Disk1/runInstaller, i get the following error:
    [oracle@localhost Disk1]$ pwd
    /home/oracle/Disk1
    [oracle@localhost Disk1]$ ./runInstaller
[oracle@localhost Disk1]$ The Java RunTime Environment was not found at /tmp/OraInstall2008-04-29_07-09-15AM/jre/bin/java. Hence, the Oracle Universal Installer cannot be run.
Please visit http://www.javasoft.com and install JRE version 1.3.1 or higher and try again.

  • JDBC Driver not found when connecting to Data Federator XI 3.0 SP3

    Hello,
I am trying to connect Crystal 2008 to Data Federator however I am getting the Error
    Failed to open connection.
    Details: JDBC Driver not found.
The JDBC Drivers are installed and working for the Universe Designer, however I am unable to get it working for Crystal. I am using the following connection parameters on Crystal:
    Connection URL: jdbc:datafederator://<<servername>>:3055/<<catalog>>
    Database Classname: com.businessobjects.datafederator.jdbc.DataFederatorDriver
Any Advice on what I may have missed?

The issue was solved, thanks to Patric Wan:
u201CFailed to open the connection. Details: JDBC driver not found.u201D
This means Data Federator JDBC driver was not added to:
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\<version>\java\CRConfig.xml
How to connect the Data Federator Server using JDBC?
    1. Retrieve the following files from the machine where Data Federator is installed, from the directory [data-federator-installation-dir]/JdbcDriver/lib.
        - thindriver.jar
        - avalon-framework-4.1.5.jar
        - jacorb.jar
        - log4j-1.2.8.jar
        - logkit-1.2.jar
    2. Copy these files to a directory of your choice ([your-jdbc-driverdirectory]).
    3. Add [your-jdbc-driver-directory]/thindriver.jar to CRConfig.xml   <Add to Classpath tag, you can refer to original sample.CRConfig.xml should be at: C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\4.0\java\CRConfig.xml, or search your BOBJ products install to find this file>
    4. URL: jdbc:leselect://<host>[:<port>][/[<catalog>]][[;param-name=value]*]

  • Old iPod mini can't be recognized after formatting, and iTunes 'Apple Mobile Device Driver not found.'

My roommate gave me an old iPod Mini a few days ago. It was working fine 'til I plugged it into my computer and it asked me to format it. I did, and now it cannot be recognized by iTunes or my computer. My computer views it as a "removable disk" which cannot be accessed. In devices, it is listed as an Apple iPod though, so I'm hoping not all is lost. I have tried many quick fixes I've read on internet (including changing disk letter) but to no avail. I have reinstalled the new iTunes and now that is telling me it has not installed properly, and when I ran diagnostics, it reads that the Apple Mobile Device Driver not found. I will copy & paste all the info from the diagnostic run below, and if anybody can help me with my new (old) iPod, I'd be everly greatful!

    What You Need
    To use iPhone, you need:
A new two-year wireless service plan with AT&T
A Mac or a PC with a USB 2.0 port and one of the following operating systems:
Mac OS X version10.4.10 or later
Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate edition
iTunes 7.3 or later, available at www.itunes.com
    An iTunes Store account
    An Internet connection
You must be at least 18 years old to open a new AT&T wireless account. You will need a
major credit card to open a new iTunes Store account.
    Yeahyeah check all that stuff;
Oh well; just when i thought i'd finally cross over to the beautiful packaging of APPLE. I remember in design school that form follows function. Thanks.
