Unknown Arab people sending invitations

Hi,
there are some weird guys that i have no idea of who they are adding me on Skype. I have no idea how they are getting my Skype name and i have out my privacy settings for friends only. When they add me they are sending messages such as "hey when your online can i see you?" once more I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THEY GOT MY CONTACT OR WHO THEY ARE!
PLS HELP!
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Setting your account to accept calls and IMs from people in my contact list only will only prevent unwanted calls and messages from random people or non-contacts. This will not prevent other Skype users, both legitimate and possibly suspicious ones, from sending you contact requests (there is no sense in having the option to accept friend requests from your contacts only, as they no longer need to send you contact request as they are already in your contact list).
I suggest that you just ignore or decline such requests. If you find their actions already annoying or suspicious, you can also choose to block them and report abuse ([email protected]).
IF YOU FOUND OUR POST USEFUL THEN PLEASE GIVE "KUDOS". IF IT HELPED TO FIX YOUR ISSUE PLEASE MARK IT AS A "SOLUTION" TO HELP OTHERS. THANKS!

We have a 25 licenses Adobe CC, but we need another method to add user, instead of send invitation by e-mail, wait the e-mail arrive and join to the team. Are there another method do add user bypassing the e-mail invitation? Thank you.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

• I can't send invites or share calendars with a certain person

I'm trying to send an invite to my partner (both on @me "icloud" accounts). If i use the mac to share an invite i put her address in and it never shows up so i have to fill it in in whole, then it says you cannot share a calander with yourself
Strange that it should say that as my account is in my apple id.
If i try to share a calender through iCloud.com her name & address comes up when typing but i get this when i click send
I can send invites & share calenders with other people and she can send share a calender with myself ?
Any ideas on what i can do ?

They said that it wasn't them, they contacted Apple and they were aware of the problem. But still Apple didn't know if it was hardware of software problems.

• Defining email account for sending invites

I think I'm using iCal as intended. I work at home and have multiple calendars but let's just say I have three calendars -- Home, Work and Other -- and I have three email accounts -- eHome, eWork and eOther.
I seem to have limited control over which email address is used to send invites from a particular calendar. I think I understand why it changes but what I can't understand is why can't I set the outbound email account on a per-calendar basis.
Ideally, I could click on the calendar and in the info pane, select one of the e-mail accounts in my mail application (Mail). That would be static such that any time I sent an invite from the Work calendar, it would be sent via my eWork account.
Is there a way to do this that I'm missing? This seems like a rather obvious weekness that is causing confusion with my various associates. Is there a way to address this?
Thank you,

Yes, I think you understand the situation. However, just yesterday something happened that really confused me. I thought the messages were sent via one of the accounts define in Mail. However, I sent out invitations to two people and got the responses back on my Blackberry! dress in the address book.
When I investigated, the replies were actually sent directly to the Blackberry's e-mail address and the invitees thought they may have come from that address. I have no Blackberry account defined in mail and only the address is listed in "MY" card in the Address Book. Very odd.
I've looked at some recent invites and they are being sent via several different addresses/accounts (e.g. work, DSL account, .Mac, etc.) The Blackberry thing definitely has me confused.

• After upgrading to iCloud, iCal doesn't send invitation anymore

Hi guys.
I've this "simple" problem.
After upgrading to iClous, my iCal doesn't send invitation anymore!
Please, help me!
Federico.

I've found some other people discussing this recently in the internet (although not as many as I thought) so it seems to be a generalized problem.
I wouldn't want to swtich back to local calendar and sync everything back but this is an annoying problem becase there's no way you can know if the invite went out or not.
Did someone find an official acknowledge of this or something like that? I'm not sure if it's something in our configuration that's causing the problem. My Apple ID email is my personal email address and my calendar used to send invites through my work account (which is the only account configured in my mac currently). I'm not sure what mechanism does iCloud use to send the invites (it didn't work in any device or even in iCloud.com itself).
Best,
Rod

• Sending invites to Outlook

I am not sure if this is something I am doing wrong in iCal or an Outlook limitation? I attempt to send invites or calendar events to friends who have Outlook 2003 and they are unable to open them. I know I am sending .ics files - does anyone know if Outlook 2003 can handle them? What about Outlook 2007?
Thanks,
Rick

From what i've been able to research the following problems exist.
Outlook apparently requires the following line to be in the header to properly accept a calendar invite from apple iCal.
content-class: urn:content-classes:calendarmessage
And mail doesn't let you adjust headers on a mail by mail basis.
As far as receiving invites, it's hit or miss. I found a very inexpensive sharware app that solves the problem. It's called YAI run a search for YAI and Mail and you'll find it. That seems to resolve the incoming invite issue.
I find it a bit disappointing that apple is trying so hard to work it's way into business environments... network admins are finally accepting macs and better than PCs... But fundamental things such as meetings and invites aren't compatible. Of course microsoft is ignoring standards and doing it's own thing. They're arrogant butt wipes. But so what? Apple is the underdog, and has to adapt. Calandars and meeting events are CRITICAL to an office enviornment.
If people have identified the problems, how hard is it for apple to include a line of text in a mail header? How hard is it for apple to do whatever this $4 shareware program does to allow event importing? It would take an Apple programmer 5 minutes to solve a critical business incompatibility issue for macs in an office workplace.
Not making such simple changes so their users will be compatible with 90% of the market, smacks of as much arrogance as Microsoft for ignoring the standards in the first place.
So there it is. YAI for importing events. (had to search for over an hour to locate it). And that mail header (although I don't know how to implement) for sending events.
Good Luck everyone,
-Jason W

• My calendar will not send invites

I have read various posts regarding this same problem, but nothing recent in the last couple of months, so again I will ask you all if anyone knows a fix for this problem. I am able to select the invitees and "send", but no one ever gets my invites. I have gathered from reading various users' posts with this same problem, there is a concensus this might be a problem particularly for people who were pre-icloud users (mobileme.com users). Anyone with new information and fix would be a much appreciated.

I'm having the same problem. I spent an hour and a half on the phone with apple techs this weekend trying to sort it out (including one of the expert techs). I thought we solved it, but apparently I was wrong. At first, I was getting errors when I tried to send, mostly to email addresses that are not iCloud accounts.
The first solution was to go to your Address Book, go to Card > Go To My Card and make sure that your iCloud email address is among your email addresses and that the label is "home" -- that seemed to help. It got rid of the 403 errors I was receiving and the revert to server stuff that kept popping up.
At that point I could (and still can) send an invite successfully to an email address NOT in my address book. However, if I send an invite to an email address that IS in my address book -- they never get the email.
I'm not sure if I'm in a speciacl class of people with this problem that migrated from MobileMe to iCloud, or if it's a general problem (especially since I now have two AppleIDs -- one from iTunes and one migrated from MobileMe to iCloud. But, it's getting really annoying to use a basic feature that's been part of any computer or online scheduling system for, at least, the past decade. For a while, the less experience Apple tech seemed puzzled that I would be sending invites to someone without an iCloud account. Needless to say, that attitude had me a little perplexed myself.
So, it appears that I'll be back on the horn with Apple Support again. Ugh.
I'm pretty apple/computer savvy and have been using this stuff for a long time, but I must say that the whole iCloud thing is really getting confusing. It's bizaare because on the surface everything looks so simple and straingtforward but once you look under the hood, it quickly stops making sense.

• Error when other people send me a meeting request

Dear Microsoft,
When other people send me a meeting request, they get the error you can see below (it says: "Your message can not be delivered to the following
people or distribution lists"). The strange thing is that I receive as well the meeting request and I can accept it. However, it is confusing for the people who send me the request, so can you help me to fix te problem?
I use Outlook 2010, but I had also this problem with an older version. I have not had this problem always. The problem started when I authorized a colleague
to look in my calendar (but, if I cancel the authorization it doesn't help, so I really don't understand what is going wrong!).
I really hope you know a solution of this problem.
Kind regards,
Dineke Wolbink

Hi Dineke,
You can contact your Exchange administrator to run the following command to check it:
Get-Mailbox –Identity yourname | Select Name, HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled
Or you can view your colleague’s Default Global Address List in OWA to check whether you are listed there or not.
Please check whether there is any transport rule or Outlook rule setting in your mailbox. Also change a new computer and create a new Outlook profile to have a try.

• Publishing iCal - time zone issue & sending invites - Entourage?

Hi there,
Am currently looking into using iCal as our internal calendar system, and just have a couple of quick questions:
1. I've been mucking around with publishing a test calendar on .Mac, and there seems to be a problem with the time zones. I'm in Sydney, Australia, and my System Prefs on my local machine are set to this time zone, and on my .Mac account I've set them to Sydney, Australia as well. However, when I publish the calendar, an event that's in my calendar on my local machine at 10.30am ends up published as occurring at 6.30pm? Is there a preference setting I've missed somewhere?
2. Is there any way to use Entourage for sending invitations to iCal events? Even though I've set the Default E-mail Reader in Apple Mail as Entourage, whenever I try to invite a user to an iCal event, Apple Mail is launched. Why isn't it recognising my preference settings?
Thanks,
Claire.
iMac G5 Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Claire
I am not sure about No 2, but someone clever here might help.
So far as the first one goes, have a look at the orginal event (in iCal) and see whether it 'thinks' it's in Sydney. (I am guessing that you might have imported the data from elsewhere, so if it doesn't show properly you could try: a. making a positive change to the correct timezone, or b. deleting it and recreating the correct event from scratch in iCal. Then republish and check the web version. If this is getting somewhere, I can explain what I think is happening.)

• When I send invites for events in ical, the event does not show up on the person I invited calendar

Hi,
I am sending invites to my co-worker on a Mac through ical. When my co-worker accepts the event it doesn’t show up on his ical. How do I fix this?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

• Failed to send invitation emails to recipients. detailed error: an error occurred while sending mail.

I tried to send a distributed form out to myself to check the system and received this error message: failed to send invitation emails to recipients. detailed error: an error occurred while sending mail. Any idea what I may have done wrong? I am using Microsoft Outlook 2010 with Windows 8.1 OS.

• Sending Invites in OS2 Calendar

Having problems here.
Having set up a Google apps account, everything working well, except the ability to add attendees - the field is missing in my Google linked calendar (syncing perfectly otherwise). If I use the playbook local calendar the option to send invites is there, but when you try and save the appointment I get a dialogue that tells me I have no email account associated with this calendar (which is true) but I don't want / can't add the same email address again anyway.
Anyone that has a Google app (business) email account experiencing the same??. Please help!

I am experiencing the same thing. I think it could be easily remedied by linking an existing email, Gmail, hotmail, or the like, to the PlayBook local calendar. I hope this is fixed because it could be a nice feature.

• ICal not sending invites

Hey,
Is there anybody experienced tha problem when trying to send invite (meeting request) via iCal it sais:
iCal could not send the invitation.
To send invitations, create a card in Address Book.
I've created Address Book card for that person but it didn't solve my problem.
Any thoughts?

Solution: just add yourself in Address Book and click "Card" -> "Make This My Card" for iCal to know whom to put in "From" field.

• Wiki Calendars cannot send invitations?

Hi there all
I have recently setup a Lion Server with iCal and Wiki
I have created a group Wiki and enabled its Calendar.
Users can subscribe to the calendar and create events, but cannot send invitations to attendees?
I have tried created the events on the personal calendar page, and in ical client on my mac, but the events will update its time and date etc, but will not let me use the ical server's locations nor send invitations to other users
is there anywhere to get around it?
Cheers!
