Unknown boxes after text
I have a map that I have created and it has some data in it...I created the map in Illustrator and saved it as a PDF document...
When viewing as a PDF document it shows little boxes after each set of data...I dont want these...
These boxes don't appear when I pull the document up in Illustrator
Without seeing the PDF in question, we can only guess...and my crystal ball is on the fritz this week :(

Unknown space after text inset
As seen in the picture below (also added link for larger picture, will be available 24 h ExtraZoom High Definition image #32005. Zoom in or zoom out high resolution photo.),
there is a huge space between the inset (table broken across 2 pages) and the following paragraph.
All insets are written in the same way, but only this one happens to look so weird. I've checked the inset and there is no huge space at the end of it.
As you can see in the picture below, the end of the page is right at the end of the table's anchor (text cursor can be seen)
Any ideas as to what I could possibly do to resolve this?

In regards to your response, I've uploaded the fm files (main file + insets) and scrubbed the confidential information out of them. The issue is still reproducible, as seen in the Data.fm document.

I just upgraded to iPhone 5-- after checking voicemail I get a text message from 'unknown' with empty text bubble. How do I fix this?
I was one of the folks saing its on your email side but this explanation is a lot better and now I agree its obviously not your email thats the issue...
try this
1. Login to your Verizon account.
2. Click on “Account” at the top and then “Change Features” from the bottom right.
3. Select the device you would like to remove the service from.

I am pulling my hair out! I am using adobe indesign and just want to make a text box 'autofit text' as I change fonts a lot and want the font to automatically re-size as I change it.
Is it not possible to create a text box, fill it with dynamic (data driven) text, but make the font size either scale up or down automatically, so that the entire text box is filled? This is a feature in PrintShop Mail Pro called COPY FIT. but no such feature in Indesign??

Apparently .CSV files cannot contain page breaks in the data! The data I am trying to merge is a 'letter', with paragraphs, line breaks, etc.,
But, after data merging, it ignores page breaks and only merges the first paragraph of each letter. (sigh)
Solution? Hopefully, an EASY solution. lol as we have thousands of records.
Is there a third party indesign plugin that will allow .xml, or .xls data merge import??

Pages for the iPad and Pages for a Mac are completely different, so you have to purchase them twice, one for the iPad and another one for the Mac. The only advantage is that, if you buy another iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, you will be able to install Pages for free on all of them.
As you are running Mac OS X 10.6.8 on the MacBook, you can't purchase Pages from the App Store, so you have to buy iWork '09 on a DVD on Amazon or eBay in order to install it -
Uploading a text file with unknown number of texts

i have a flat file with around 10,000 record's.
each material number followed by different lengths & unknown number of text's separated by delimiter '$',
that need to be saved using save_text function module.
the file is as follows,
record 1 : material1$text1$text2$text3
record 2 : material2$text1$text2$text3$text4$text5$text6$.....
record 3 : material3$text1$text2$text3$text4$text5
record 4: material3$text1
- - - - - - - - - - - - so on ....
i created the following structure , to split and save each text separated by '$' , to save in TLINE of save_text function module.
types : begin of ty_file,
matnr type mara-matnr,
text1 type string,
text2 type string,
text3 type string,
text4 type string,
text20 type string,
end of ty_file.
i have uploaded the file and saved in table it_file type ty_file.
loop it_file into wa_file.
split wa_file at '$' in to matnr text1 text2 text3 text4 ....... so on.
endloop.
please, suggest me an alternate way to reduce the code, instead of creating a structure like above, so that each splitted text
stores in a single variable and is passed to TLINE of corresponding material, in save_text function module

The flat file contains , material No. followed by it's text , each text sepearted by '$' symbol.
For each material i have to get all lines of text, and passed to tables paramter of save_text.
The Number of text' for each material is varying.
Please kindly suggest me , how many variables i need to create to hold each splitted text and store it in Tline

What is the most efficient way to add dots after text to fill the remaining space in a table cell? I know it is possible using tabs but is this possible using a table?
You can put a tab inside a table cell using Option+Tab
Then just set the right-aligned tab stop and the right edge of the table cell and add the leader. -
I'm new to photoshop cc 2014. As I try to type in the text box my text won't show up and every time I click on the layer it alway progress rendering type? What does that mean and is there a way I can turn it off?
Check online with the web site of the maker of your video card for an updated driver (assuming you're running Windows).

Cannot type in a text box or text callout box
I'm using Windows 7, IE 9.0.8112.16421, and Acrobat version 10.1.6. I am working in a priorietary platform for reviewing material and I can use all of the commenting tools and can create a text box and a text callout box, but I cannot type in them. My text box and text callout box work just fine with every other program that I use on my system. But this requires using Acrobat and its tools within their platform and I cannot type in those two boxes in that situation. Their first suggestion was it was an Acrobat problem. We have repaired and reinstalled several times to no avail. They then said to be sure Acrobat Reader was not installed (and it wasn't). I've cleared history. Their online reviewing system requires a specific Java script in a specific place -- we've installed, deleted, reinstalled, etc. and it still doesn't work.
I've used this platform on another computer and it works fine. I got a new computer in February with a new CS, and the problem is occurring on only this new system. And only when I am using Acrobat in their platform.
Would anyone have any suggestions what I might try? They said they had one report of a person having the same problem, but they had Reader installed.
Thanks!I don't know how to save a sample file to the forum. But I know it's actualy being created because I can close and reopen the document and the text box is still there and you can still select the text in the text box, view it and see it. But as soon as you click outside the text box, the text in the text box disappears again until you click back inside the text box.
This problem has been discussed ad nauseum with no solution ever having been given.

I am on Adobe X Pro and whenever I add text using the text edit tool the text disappears when I add text to another place in the document. It is also creating comments for every place I add text. How do I get the text to remain visible in the document and not create a comment?

Please help me !Ok, so I finally got it working but this is not ideal at all. Adobe really needs to give us some direction on how to properly deal with font embedding and TLF now that the release build breaks all functionality with loading runtime fonts and TLF.
Problem:
I am embedding collections of fonts (faces) into single family classes. Each individual face is registered with Font.registerFont(). I need to do this because I have to have mixed fonts within text flows - at least according to Alex H's recent blog post.
Fonts do not display in TLF without doing the following:
1. GlobalSettings.resolveFontLookupFunction = null;
2. editor.textFlow.flowComposer.swfContext = ISWFContext(this.getFontContext("AnyFamilyNameFromAnyFontEmbedded", false, false, FontLookup.EMBEDDED_CFF));
3. Instead of #2, use editor.textFlow.invalidateAllFormats();
Either #2 or #3 need to be performed. If I have a spark richEditableText control in MXML with defined familes from the loaded fonts. I even tried placing the control into a separate state so it wasn't created until after the fonts were loaded... I still needed to invalidate the formats or set the context.
The "AnyFamilyNameFromAnyFontEmbedded" does not need to be all of the embedded family names. It only needs to be one of them. Once one is used, all embedded fonts work. Also, I have to use the internal namespace to even get access to getFontContext, another oddity that, in my humble opinion, should never be necessary to create mixed style TLF content.
My questions are then:
1. Why am I required to use ISWFContext if I am using Font.registerFont()?
2. Why is GlobalSettings.resolveFontLookupFunction = null; also required for this to work?
3. What is the recommended workflow to embed fonts from multiple SWF files into the release build and have it work without having to jump through all these hoops? -

I produce teaching materials which have to be printed in grayscale, so I need lots of ways of distinguishing items (different kinds of headings, lists, boxes, etc) without using colour. A few features seem to be missing in this regard, but pls tell me if I just haven't spotted them yet:
1. I want a vertical line or 'bar' down the left side of certain kinds of text which automatically lengthens as lines are added. It's possible in Table but that's quite annoying as cells don't automatically split at the end of a page.
2. Objects, such as boxes of text, can be filled with various patterns - lines, spots, etc - in Word, but I can't find an equivalent feature in InDesign CS4.
3. I want boxes round some headings. Para Rules and Underline lets you put lines above and below but not at the sides. Is there a way of getting them without creating a new frame, pasting the text in, and anchoring the box?May be useful to disable the "Track changes" feature

No, it's a document I created and it's not locked. I did it at work and sent it to Pages so I could work at home. It opens but I can't type or edit.

Without seeing the timeline it sounds as if they've been off. Maybe you pressed the V or the role is switched off in the timeline index.
