Unknown Client Check passed Active after patching
I have just deployed an software update for my clients. It seems to me at first a lot of client where in the Progress tab stating "downloading updates". When I came back the next day, most of the clients are in the Unkown tab stating "Client
check passed / Active". How can I make the clients compliant?
Just out of curiosity - this looks like an update deployment, have you checked the compliance in the reporting section (assuming you have one setup)? I have been noticing that our patch groups are showing similar behavior where more state "Client
check passed/Active" just like you're seeing, but our compliance reports are showing different numbers.

Software Update status stuck in Unknown Client check passed/Active
I've been rooting around in this for a week now so I'm looking for some other ideas.
A couple of weeks back I tried publishing some updates from SCUP into SCCM. Shortly thereafter I started seeing all my client getting stuck in Unknown "Client check passed/Active" status for Software Updates, starting with my most recent Software
Update Groups and progressively creeping its way back into older ones.
Clients' WUAHandler.log show errors with <![LOG[OnSearchComplete - Failed to end search job. Error = 0x8024000f.]LOG]!><time="18:16:20.329+240" date="08-14-2014" component="WUAHandler" context="" type="3"
thread="2496" file="cwuahandler.cpp:3064">
Client WindowsUpdate.log shows the same error code: 2014-08-15 11:37:16:278 520 1b7c Agent WARNING: WU client failed Searching for update with error 0x8024000f.
I also have one of my older deployments starting to pick up a status of Error, code 0X8024000F "Circular update relationships were detected in the metadata."
I found some folks with similar issues where they were advised to remove the offending updates from their packages. I never got the SCUP updates into any packages; they were showing up as Metadata Only and I started troubleshooting this issue instead. At this
point I have removed everything from SCUP showing in SCCM console just to make sure. (I think I expired them all in SCUP and then synced with it again.)
I have tried several client-side fixes that have not resolved the issue (KB971058, rebuild the SoftwareDistribution folder, KB947821).
I have even uninstalled the WSUS role off my server, restarted, then reinstalled. SCCMw ill sync happily with WSUS and received this week's updates successfully but it cannot pull a status for these new updates and all the existing ones still sit in Unknown
status in their deployments. I tried creating a new small deployment and it still gets stuck in the same place.
It looks like my Software Updates metadata in SCCM is a mess and I'm not sure how to resolve it. I think the next step I can think of is to strip the SUP role off the server and pop it back in after its had some time to clean itself up. Does anybody have
any other less severe suggestions?Hi,
There is someone remove all the third-party metadata in WSUS Database, then run full sync and initiated scan cycle on the machine. The client successfully scanned updates.
But editing database directly is unsupported by Microsoft.

Joyce

Software Update Deployment - Compliance Status = Unknown - Client Check passed/active
Hi,
First I want to say, that I found many Forum-Posts which describes a similar issue, but it is not exactly my issue...
I have a ADR (Auto Deployment Rule) which creates every Month a Windows Update Package, and deploys it. The Deployment starts from a custom day, and ends 14 days later (Deadline). Now I have the issue, that the compliance chek in the deployment status is
"reseted" every day (at 0:00) - (at least after the Deadline!)... The Compliance Check starts every day at 0:00 and then tries to reach every Computer again! So if the Computer-object is powered on and responding, it turns over to compliant (because
it is already compliant - the Windows Update Installation works fine...). But if the Computer is not powered on / not responding the next day, it turns over to "Unknown - Client check passed/active" instead of staying in the Status "compliant"
until it is powered on / respinding again, then it changes over to compliant again... Why is that?
Is there a issue with the Client Settings?:
- Software Update Scan (every day)
- Software Update Re-Evaluation (every day)
- Compliance Settings (every day at 0:00) -> but is this not for the Configuration Baselines?
any other ideas?
PatrikAs soon as the computer get the Software Update configuration items, it will start compliance checking, then send the compliance check result to MP.
From your description, the powered on computers sent the state message to the MP when they got the deployment policy. And the frequency of Status Summarizers of updates deployment for a deployment that was modified in the last
30 days is 60 minutes. Because the site server had not recieved the state message from the powered off computers so that the compliance state was changed to Unknown.

Compliance Unknown - Client Check passed/Active
I am running SCCM 2012 R2 in a test environment. My setup is very simple in that I only have around a dozen machines in it and I only have one site server.
I have a couple of software deployments for my baseline updates and when I check these all of my machines are green and compliant. However, I have another deployment that is created via an ADR and most of my machines are green and compliant except two which
are stuck on the Unknown tab saying "client check passed/Active". I have rebooted them, kicked off every action, refreshed, run summarization, reinstalled the client - yet none of these seem to be having any effect. Keep in mind these two machines
are also in my 'baseline' deployments and they are reporting back just fine. For whatever reason, they are stuck as unknown in my ADR deployment.
I've checked on a few of the logs and haven't stumbled across anything that stuck out but if anyone could kindly point me in the direction of the logs that are relevant to this issue I would appreciate it.
EDIT 1:
I ran the 'Compliance 1 - Overall Compliance' report against the ADR deployment and my test collection and the two machines in question came back as "Non-compliant" rather than compliance state unknown... which I find interesting
EDIT 2:
In my past experiences with SCCM 2012, I had very similar issues related to checking compliance. We would have a ton of machines go into the 'unknown' state and several other weird issues. We had a complex environment at my past job so I figured this evaluation
would go much smoother since I have one site system and a dozen test machines. It makes me nervous that I am already experiencing similar issues. I am also shocked I can't find more info when searching related to machines reporting back as
Unknown Passed/Active...One of the servers in question has not received updates since February. Here is WUAHandler.log and updatesHandler.log - I don't see anything that sticks out. Most logs appear to be acting normal and don't have any glaring errors being reported. I do not
have any updates showing up in the software center on the server in question. It is the same OS and image as other servers that are working. Please let me know if you would like to see a different log....

Activity activation after check in
Hi,
I checked in an activity and try to activate that one.
But after 5 days the activity is in Open state(Queued state in CBS).
Could anyone help me out this?
Thanks,
AnumitHi Anumit, Normally in WebDynpro in the DC perspective,
1. when you right click on the activity name and select "check in", automatically the activation window opens after "check in". In this activation window, after clicking activate, you may click on "show activation results"
2. You need not manually activate the activity in "activation view".
3. When you refresh the "activation results", you can see either a green or red icon indicating whether the activation succeeded or failed.
4. If it is failed, you can double click on the description and see the error log.
Normally i have faced failed activations if I checked in activity without fixing build erros. In such cases, you can fix the error in new activity and rebuild to ensure that there are zero errors and then check in the new activity. -
Client machine force reboot after apply window patch updated
I found all of client machines will force reboot after window patching updated via SCCM 2012. Have any options in SCCM 2012 can let users to choose reboot their machine after patching ? likely WSUS, users can suspend the reboot request. Pls advice.
The notification will happen automatically if ConfigMgr installs updates that require a reboot but a reboot is not initiated so there's nothing additional you need to do.
Note however that allowing users to choose this instead of forcing it is generally bad practice because the updates aren't truly installed until the reboot happens and there have been a couple of updates of the years that cause flakiness until the system
is rebooted also.
Why not allow the users to install the updates when they want up until a deadline and then force the reboot at the deadline (if one hasn't already been performed)? This gives the user the control over the process but also forces it to happen if the user
neglects performing it.

JMS subscription stays active after the Flex client exits
Folks,
I have BlazeDS deployed in Tomcat 6.0.18. My Flex UI application
subscribes to a JMS Topic in GlassFish.
My problem is that the JMS subscription stays active after the
Flex client exits.
Can I add code to handle this scenario? Shouldn't BlazeDS pick this up
automatically when the TCP connection closes?
Thanks,
ShaneHi Shane,

SCCM 2012 Client Check Fail after CU4 install
I've had a problem with my SCCM clients failing the client check since CU4 was installed last week. The number of failed clients has gone up everyday since the install to the point where I'm now at 50% failure (943 machines) and growing.
The reason the console lists for Errors show as:
681 Client Prerequisites
446 WMI Event Sink
446 SMS Agent Host service status
175 Client WMI provider
This is coming from the most client check failures I've seen in my environment is 10. I can still send some packages to about 300 of the failed client check machines, but I get nothing on the rest.Hi,
Is there any error in the log files as Torsten mentioned?

How to correct the error
Check the last transports to the SAP System.
Is the program "SAPLRWCL" currently being changed?
If an enqueue/dequeue module is involved, is the activation
of the lock object missing in the ABAP/4 Dictionary?
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following

Thank you for ur reply.
I did not implement any user exit/ badi. Dump is saying that my smarform function module does not exist in the se37 library.
I have excuted my form through se38, that time is working fine. When i tried through output type it is going to dump.

Sales office data missing after patching in CRM
Hi,
We have CRM 4.0 for internet sales.
Recently, we patched our Development and QA CRM systems from SAPKU40009 to
SAPKU40016.
Immediately after the patching, we see that the Sales office information in the BP (Sales area- organization tab) is missing. We have only one Sales org and Dist channel with division not active. All the sales office belong to the same sales org. Nothing has changed w.r.t org model before and after patching and all the org units are checked for determintation.
Everything was working before the patching. Just after patching, we find the sales office information blanked out in the BP and as well as the drop down list is empty.
I can see the sales office table entries for all the BPs in CRMM_BUT_SET0140. But when ichange the BP data (for some other field) and save, the table entries get deleted as i am not able to assign the sales office any more.
We have not buffered the attributes. I tried that also and ran the report HRBCI_ATTRIBUTES_BUFFER_UPDATE, but it is of no use.
Can somebody help?
Thanks
ShankarHi ,
What you can do is,
Create a request for a material whose Sales Area data is missing in
CRM , and perform the request load in transaction:R3AR4.
And please check whether sales area data flows to CRM.
Put a filter in txn:R3AC1, to download single material or material
range. And before performing an initial load in txn:R3AS,please make
sure that sales area data is missing in CRM.Now, perform the initial
load in txn:R3AS.And please check whether sales area data flows to
CRM.
Check the filter settings in transaction R3AC1 for
object MATERIAL and please make sure that it would bring down all
the expected materials from R/3 along with the sales area data. I guess there is some
filter setting which is blocking it.
Please check the entries you have maintained in table MVKE - the entries
for the sales data maintained here must match with the ones maintained in the
filters.
thanks & regards,

Behaviour change of synchronous reply after patching to 10.1.3.4
Hi people ,
i have a process like this:
Normally in 10.1.3.1 , 10.1.3.3.x ; the process will continue after a partial reply, and any fault uncatched in the process would terminate the flow. And any changes to the outputvariable wont change the process response.
But after patching to 10.1.3.4 im having a different behaviour on synchronous process replys ,
The process continues and any uncatched fault AFTER A REPLY its raised to the client, and any change to the outputvariable AFTER A REPLY its changed to the process response .
The worst thing its that is not clear when the response its really sent to the client , ( if i put a wait activity , after the reply, with 1 minute , works as was expected, like in 10.1.3.3 ... )
I read this new features list from oracle
http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/soa/cab/oraclesoacab-webinar-04-22-08bpel_10_1_3_4_update.pdf
It says that "Faults in a transient process go to the client" , correcting an old problem of lost instances..
I cant find any other documentation explaining this new beahaviour but for my organization its a huge problem afecting , many production processes, on the patched servers. Because i raised faults to leave the instances marked as faulted on the console as a normal procedure on the flows , but now , if that throw its close enough after a reply(with a unknow criteria or number of activities) its raised to the client :S
Thanks for any help , by now the workaround to keep the same behaviour its: WAIT after every reply :S :S !!
Greetings
DamYes its a fire and forget pattern, thanks for the suggestion, il. try it ...
but its difficult to refactor several flows just for patching , you have any idea if this change after upgrade to 10.1.3.4 its normal ? this is an expected beahaviour ?
Thank you very much again -
HI OWB Gurus,
We have recently a patchapplied for oracle 10g .
prev version was oracle 10 g r2 10.2.0.1
new version is 10.2.0.4 ( patchset 4)
After patch applied at database and owb level there are some problem we are facing like
ETL process is very slow , cpu is going to 100% after start any mapping.
and audit browser are not opening.
Can any one help me on this so that we can resolve the problem.
- UmeshHi Umesh,
This might help you in diagnosing the client's performance
Accurate optimizer statistics are generally very important. They are gathered automatically at OWB install time and the Design Center -> Tools -> Optimize Repository menu selection is available to refresh them on an as needed basis.
The DBA can always help by pre-expanding tablespaces, making sure multiple tablespaces are available on separate disks or disk arrays so that I/O to indexes, metadata tables, snapshot tables, DB undo and redo logs, etc., can be evenly distributed.
With more complex metadata in this OWB release, you can expect many JDBC round-trips to the DB. Network latency can have a big impact on performance. To see how much time the owbclient uses for JDBC roundtrips to the DB, add the following line to Preference.properties in <owb home>/owb/bin/admin on your client machine:ClientProfile=true
Run OWB, then check ClientProfile.log in the admin directory. Keep in mind that a ping to localhost is probably about 0.025 ms, to another machine in the LAN about 0.25 ms. If the roundtrips are greater than 40 ms, then the issue is likely related network latency.
The two basic workarounds for network latency are:
-Remote control an OWB client machine that is physically close to the server.
-Do design-time work on a local repository, then MDL export the work for import to a central repository.
If the client and server are not on the same (high bandwidth) LAN, then total available bandwidth may become a factor. Same thing if the DB server is heavily loaded with respect to CPU or I/O, or if all your OWB design-time metadata is located on the same tablespace on the same hard drive. Distributing projects across multiple repositories which use their own
tablespaces spread across multiple hard drives would be very desirable.
The object editors are more functional and complex, as such, the required processing power to render them is greater (processor > 2GHz) Also note the OWB client software is mostly single-threaded, so it won't take advantage of multiple processors on one machine.
Long running sessions or large bulk operations (MDL import, validation, generation, deployment over large or multiple modules) can push up against the JVM memory limit. If performance begins to suffer due to memory, either:
a)exit and restart the OWB session;
b) if adequate physical memory exists, increase the -Xmx and -Dlimit values in the owbclient and OMBPlus startup scripts to better accommodate large operations.
ie.
If you have 2 GB or more, backup and edit owb\bin\win32\owbclient.bat file and modify line starting with %JAVAPATH
ie.
%JAVAPATH%\jre\bin\java -Xms128M -Xmx1024M -Dlimit=1024M -XX:MaxPermSize=1024M
This will add more memory to JVM for OWB client. Do the same for owb.cl file
Hope this will add some value.

Packet length mismatch 14336,56 on x2100 after patch 118855-19
I'm new to solaris, and I don't currently have a solaris support contract.
After installing solaris 10 6/06 onto my shiny new x2100 (base model) and installing the latest available patches (as of this posting), I started seeing the following message repeated every few seconds in the system log:
ip: [ID 498608 kern.notice] Packet length mismatch: 14336, 56
Backing out 118855-19 causes the message to stop appearing.
Other than this message, I don't believe I have encountered any actual problems (yet).
Any suggestions on whether I should:
- continue to ignore this message;
- back out the patch;
- post this in another forum;
- try to investigate?
Update:
The following messages have also appeared in the system log during shutdown:
ip: [ID 646971 kern.notice] ip_create_dl: hw addr length = 0
ip: [ID 200596 kern.error] bge0: <unknown primitive> failed: DL_UNSUPPORTED

Mike_WattersHi!
I have this patch installed, but I haven't this problem (I use IPv4).
$ uname -srvmpi
SunOS 5.10 Generic_118855-19 i86pc i386 i86pc
1) Check that all recommended patches was applied.
2) It seems to me, that one of your application uses raw socket interface
(IP_HDRINCL, see /usr/include/netinet/in.h, ip(7p), ip6(7p), icmp6(7p)), and
length field (ip_len, see /usr/include/netinet/ip.h) in raw packet from
application supplied in wrong byte sequence (application was design for big
endian computer).
Usually kernel drops that kind of packets silently. May be new ip driver
(/kernel/drv/ip.conf), which includes in this patch starts to work in verbose
mode...
Try to find this application by stopping applications one by one. -
Remote desktop client software not active
I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I'm a bit bewildered by this errormessage (and I couldn't get a hit when I searched for it) when I try to drag a file from the xserv to the macbook pro desktop, remote desktop client software not active.
The macbook has the ard server and connects to the xserv ppc. It connects over the internet.
The xserv is behind a iptables fw and I have forwarded 3283 tcp/udp plus 5900 udp/tcp to the server. Have I forgotten a port ?
I've read through http://www.starkpr.com/ard.htm as well as http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20070302234400232&query=vnc%2Bsimpl e%2Bset%2Bup
and tried to find out more from the discsussions here.
The macbook pro sits behind an airport which is hooked into the dsl modem. Do I need to configure port forward in the airport as well.
Connecting to the xserv and working on it works great but the copy file transfer fails.Hi there I took new try at this and this is what finally solved it for me.
The earlier answer I got was very good advise but I had already done that bit, actually I might have overdone it a bit I had checked all the boxes under the useraccount on sharing.
Back to business.
Firewalling. I realised I need to open and portforward at both locations and remeber it's booth tcp and udp.
So at the xserve location I needed to forward 3283 and 5900 both tcp and udp from outside to the IPnumber of the xserve.
At home with my macbook I needed to do the same.
However this did not solve it, I had forgotten one software on the macbook. On the xserve I had installed ARD upgraded it to 3.1 AND installed the upgrade for ARD 3.1 client. The client part I had forgotten at home. So once my ARD and ARD client software matched I could connect to the xserve and drag and drop files booth ways.
ARD wasn't running on the xserve I just had it installed along with the client software.
So portforwarding in firewalls and the same software and versions in all locations seems to have solved it for me.
A small note enabling/disabling the firewall in macbookpro did nothing for me since when enabled ARD rules were in place and active so it still worked.
I hope I made some sense.

Check-in error while checking in activity in nwdi
Hi,
I have a nwdi track with the ability to create VC and webdypro DCs. I created a Visual Composer DC and created a model within it. This activity was activated and released and I could preview the vc model successfully.
I checked-out the model assigning it a new activity, and made changes to this vc model. Saved the model. So far so good.
The problem occurs when I try to check-in this particular activity. And the same problem occurs when I try to create a second or third VC model within the DC and try to check them in.
Infractructure console in nwds says:

Regards,
Namrata ShenoyThe compile option in NWDS was not helping my case, although that is the right way to check-in activity in nwds/nwdi. What I found was that my project was corrupted, I don't really know when and why it happened, but I deleted contents of the .project folder and check-in activity worked beautifully after that. I also saw that, if you can afford to, creating a new workspace helps a problem like this.
