Unknown connections

Hello,
Sometimes, OS try to connect to that three adresses:
idisk.me.com.akadns.net on port 443
m3.mac.com on port 443
www.mac.com on port 443
configuration.apple.com on port 80
What kind of information OS need to recieve from this servers? What if I deny this connections?

For more information, google those or do whois lookups. Some appear to be related to mobile.me. I often deny configuration.apple and have never observed any problems. Deny all those and see what happens.

    Hi,
When I access Netstorage within Virtual Office I get the following message:
    NetStorage getData:PortalURLException
    URL = https://virtualoffice.rademaker.nl:4...et/xtier-login
    Unknown Connection Failure :500
This happened after patching the server (SLES9SP2 (OES linux) to the latest
    available patches.
I already reset the owner of /opt/novell/netstorage and below directories to
    wwwrun:www
The same for /opt/novell/netstorage (acc. TID 3944596)
    However still the same errormessage.

I checked out TID 3593388, verified everything, but it looks like it is all
    ok.
Anyone experienced the same, or is maybe reconfiguring netstorage in the
yast - network services- the best option?
Any help would be really appreciated.
    Best regards,
    John M.

    Hi,
I know the solution. You can buy it for $500. Novell does not patch their
    products properly.
Most of all your current solution breaks. But I can fix it for you.
    regards,
    Pieter

  • Bakground job failed with error EXSQL UNKNOWN CONNECTION

    Hello,
We are scheduling job is background which connects to other system and picks up entries to update it.
The report works very well in foreground no error, no dumps, no connectivity issues.
When report is schedule in background it gives dumps throwing error 'EXSQL UNKNOWN CONNECTION' which is near the DISCONNECT statement.
All authorisation and everything is in place as job runs in foreground and also in background sometimes.
    Please help.

    Hi Sunny,
Yes I have analysed the dumps in st22.
We have scheduled the background jobs which are exchanging data with external databases.
Sometimes these background jobs get finished and sometimes it gets cancelled and gives the above mentioned ABAP dumps.
I am not sure whether it is related to the database connectivity or something else?
    Waiting for the response.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Prem

  • Unknown Connections/Devices In My 'Connections' Tr...

    I have a HomeHub2.
In my Connections tab in the bottom-right hand corner I can see a list of other devices/connections. They are:
    HomeHub3-HP42
    BTFON

    NetGear
What are these? And could they be causing me to go over my usage limit (which I have since April)?
    Thanks

I've just had a 'virginmedia' one pop up now!
If I look at Wireless Network Connections when I'm at home I see about 20 - this is entirely normal and indicates the wireless routers around you
If you are really OCD you can download inSSIDer (for Windows) which will show all the wireless signals your wireless card detects and their signal strength and channel number - this can be a useful tool in diagnosing wirelss network problems.

  • Unknown connection in Home Sharing

I'm running the latest version of iTunes on Windows 7, and I have a connection I don't recognize showing up in home sharing. It's labelled "1-800-letsgetretarded", and it has a bunch of music that I don't own. I haven't interacted with it other than examining its library. It appears even though I'm not actually signed in to home sharing on the computer I'm working from. I haven't signed in because I'm concerned that whatever this is it might be malicious. Where or from whom is this coming from, why is it coming from there, and how can I disconnect from it?

it sounds like you are viewing someone else's shared library (http://support.apple.com/kb/PH1527).  very possible especially if there are other's on the wifi network you are currently using or used in the past (particularly public).
this is what that individual has done:

in all actuality, the person whos library you are viewing is at a bigger risk than you are

  • Unknown IMAP connections

My mail server (running on a Intel Xserve on Mac OS X 10.4.11) has started to behave strangely. Basically, I get tons of unknown connections to my IMAP server, that looks like this:
So, tons of connections from IP-addresses only, no user names. This fills up my available slots and the server becomes unresponsive to new connections. Instead of lifting the limits, I would very much rather find out what the problem is and if there is anything I can do to help this.
When this happens, the /var/log/mailaccess.log file starts to fill with items such as:
localhost imap[2207]: auxpropfunc error generic failure
localhost imap[2207]: DBERROR: opening /var/imap/mailboxes.db: Cannot allocate memory
localhost imap[2207]: DBERROR: opening /var/imap/mailboxes.db: cyrusdb error
localhost imap[2207]: Fatal error: can't read mailboxes file
But as far as I can determine, the RAM is sufficient (the server has 2GB and rus only mail) and there is plenty of disk mounted on /, so
The IP's that are for unknown users all belong to Tre - a known swedish mobile operator, so I am guessing that this has more to do with a faulty mobiile client of my users than an outright attack

I have had at least 10 unknown connections added to my hub over the space of a month. Everytime I remove them, they always return. I have recently changed my PC and Playstation to an ethernet connection instead of wireless and these connections have been accounted for. But i am still getting wireless connections, unknown devices and connections that have strange names.
I am worried about other people using my connection as my broadband usage is significantly higher than my own personal usage. I have taken action by changing my WPA key, password and everything advised online, but it continues to happen. Not sure what to do now.
    I've replied here - http://community.bt.com/t5/BB-Speed-Connection-Issues/Unknown-addresses-shown-on-bt-hub-manager/m-p/...
Plus, Avast (anti-virus) is constantly picking up trojan's and other viruses even though I am avoiding p2p, spam emails and other well-known internet problem-starters. I've re-booted my system and recently taken to unplugging my router- but otherwise i'm pretty stuck for ideas. Any advice?

  • Laptop connecting to Router but cant access intern...

Hi all, my girlfriend and I have recently moved into a new place and decided to opt for B.T Broadband. Our Home Hub 4 was delivered yesterday, and we set it up according to the instructions. Since setting up, my girlfriend has been able to get the internet working absolutely fine on her laptop (X.P), and I have been able to access it on my mobile phone (blackberry) and tablet (Android)
However, despite my laptop connecting to the router, it is refusing to actually allow me to access the internet. The router is displayed as an 'unidentified network' and the connection is local only.
Does anyone have any advice? I can't connect using an ethernet cable as my laptop's port is broken. I have tried performing a windows updaet but it doesn't seem to have done anything. Not a complete disaster but a little annoying, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Vista does have issues with WPA2 encryption.  Could it be you weren't using that on your previous router?  The BT Hubs default to that, so you could try changing the encryption type.  There is a windows update for that which should have come down.
If it is showing unknown network, you could try setting a fixed address for the laptop if you only use it at home.
Press windows key and r, then type ncpa.cpl in the box that pops up.  Then right click on wireless network.  Select Internet Protocol v4 (TCP/IPv4) then press properties.  Then on the next page select use following address for IP address and fill the fields with, as an example,
    192.168.1.10
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.1.254
Then in the dns fields beneath you could use:
    8.8.8.8
    192.168.1.254.
Hit ok, then close and that'll get you back to the page that shows the wireless connection.  It should have stopped showing unknown connection by now and hopefully, you should have a connection.
There are known issues with doing this on Vista, but the fix for this is readily googleable and not every user gets it.

  • IMEI Unknown

I have just encountered an IMEI & ICCID unknown connect to Itunes error message whilst using the phone on a holiday in the us. It now only lets m edial emergency calls but alerts me about calender meetings. I have no phone, no GPS, no wireless, no email and no access to preinstalled Apps for sat nav, travel guides and hiking Mercator mapps paid for and downloaded for my holiday in the US.
I am 3000 miles from home with apple support contracts, 1 yr warranty and cannot find any information on what to do. I connected my Iphone as requested to itunes on my portable PC but was informed iTunes cannot connect to the phone unless I key in my password which I cannot do because the phone will not let me access its applications.
Can somebody please tell me what I need to do as i seem to have wasted a lot of money on a phone and apps which no longer work but cannot determine if this is a telco or apple issue and my nerest apple store is in Chicago.
Can anybodody please advise a solution for a phone that has not been unlocked and every app has been paid for and downloaded through the apple store. My holiday is now somewhat ruined because I cannot use the phone and apps i have paid for which all seem to be working in the background because i keep getting alerts for events in my caender.

  • Has the new iWeb prevented the Web Dav connection with iDisk?

Today Apple introduced new updates to .Mac. This will be great when I get enough cash to buy one of those fancy new iMacs with the Intel chip. Meanwhile my Goliath WebDav application gets the message "Unknown connection error" when I try to log into my iDisk.
Is there a fix? Or has Apple made it impossible for me to manage my Homepage from an Apple computer?
Imac original   Mac OS 9.2.x   Using Goliath WebDav

I was able to use Goliath Web Dav today on Homepage.
A pain, but at least a way around my old technology.

  • ITunes Store works very slow or does not connect with my account.

When I use my account to sign into the iTunes store, the store either (1) Operates very very slowly or (2) Ignores my request or (3) Reports an unknown connection error. This happens on ANY Mac computer (Windows not tested). Problem moves with the account to other machines. Other accounts work fast and fine. Store works rapidly when signed out. Logging into an Apple website with my id works fine. Tried managing my id. Nothing changed. Started experiencing problems today (December 25, 2011) when trying to purchase iTunes Certs. for Christmas gifts. I have one of those old mac.com Apple IDs. Very odd. Ideas?

    jmgg0025,
Is there something in common between our accounts. It appears we are/were getting routed to a different server than most perhaps.
    1. I'm a iPhone Developer.
    2. My apple id is [email protected]
    3. My account predates the itunes store.

  • T510 - wired ethernet blocks Internet connection

I'm getting really frustrated with the Lenovo network management system. It seems overly complex and way too slow. In addition, on my home network, the wireless connection always seems to be favoured.
When I plug in my ethernet connection, the system sees it as an unknown connection and promptly drops Internet access (although I can still see my local network). Even if I do manage to fiddle it into working, as soon as I reboot the Internet connection fails again. Doing a network repair does not work. Often, the only way to get Internet access is to unplug the ethernet cable.
I've fiddled around with this for hours. I've played with all of the options, as well as 'include ethernet connection in location change' but to no avail. I just can't get the ethernet connection to work consistently.
This should be dead simple (and is on all my other computers). You just plug the cable in and it works. I'm open to suggestions....
