Unknown Console Entry

Hi, I have just recently noticed a new entry in my system log when I put my computer to sleep or wake my computer up:
AFPSleepWakeHandler: going to sleep
AFPSleepWakeHandler: waking up
I don't have file sharing enabled, so why has this begun showing up, and what does it do?

No, I just checked in my system settings, and none of the file sharing boxes are checked. I don't access this computer's drive remotely. I did, however, connect to another machine's drive once, could that have caused the line to appear in the console?

  • New Console entries since Mail.app problem

I've started noticing these Console entries yesterday and today after (and, maybe, while?) re-doing the Mail cache and the Envelope Index to resolve the problem as described in this close by thread re. copying over folders from a backup.

Don't know exactly when they are logged, but they are not generated from sending or receiving. I'm wondering what they mean, and if I should be doing anything about them. Never saw these before.
I'm not aware of any problems with Mail, +at least at the moment.+ Thanks for help..

I think it comes mainly from display of Mail, rather than send/recieve...
Behind the scenes, WebFrame objects encapsulate the content contained in a single frame element. A hierarchy of WebFrame objects is used to model an entire webpage where the root is called the main frame. There is a WebFrameView object per WebFrame object used to display the frame content. Therefore, there is a parallel hierarchy of WebFrameView objects used to render an entire page. The WebView object is also the parent view of this hierarchy. You do not need to create WebFrame and WebFrameView objects directly. These objects are automatically created when the page loads, either programmatically or by the user clicking a link.
A WebView object is intended to support most features you would expect in a web browser except that it doesn’t implement the specific user interface for those features.

But many Apple Apps use WebKit and may be trying to "call" Mail.
    Do you use RSS feeds?
What version of Mail & Safari do you have installed, iirc Safari4 uses/installed a whole new version of WebKit.

  • 10.7.2 Keychain "Unknown" Login Entries

    Hi:
I have the following unknown Keychain login entries on two different systems running 10.7.2:
    com.apple.ubiquity.peer-uuid.D5299EE3-6805-4665-989B-2AC3DA46D5A9   --> Self-signed root certificate...untrusted
    com.apple.ubiquity.peer-uuid.D5299EE3-6805-4665-989B-2AC3DA46D5A9   --> Pubic key
    com.apple.ubiquity.peer-uuid.D5299EE3-6805-4665-989B-2AC3DA46D5A9   --> Private key
    Unknown   --> Invalid certificate
Have tried deleting them, but they reappear after a system restart. And I don't recall seeing them prior to 10.7.2.
Can someone please shed light on these items? Their use? Issues?
    Thanks,
    Manu

Thanks for the link. After reading the thread I realize others have bigger problems than me (unfortunately for the them). My ubiquity.log gives a error report every 15 minutes, something about a " ubd-main-loop save_local_state:5772 Not saving identity" . After informing me at login that " peer-to-peer syncing won't work with mobile me" . There is nothing except errors in the log.
I only have 3 untrusted keychains and the number has been stable the last week. I also have one unknown keychain which expires ???. The activity monitor shows 0% voor ubd (although it sometimes goes up a few %).
The apple advisor also advised me to trust the untrusted keychains and not to worry about the errors (which I do because they aren't there for nothing). I suppose I could delete the unknown keychain, but I don't know if I shall do this as I don't really know what it is doing.

  • Strange Console entries

I am getting numerous entries of this in Console: 7/13/14 2:40:05.000 PM kernel[0]: flow_divert_kctl_disconnect (0): disconnecting group 1
I can't find anything using Google except people with Hackintosh machines are experiencing this problem. Any idea what could be causing this?

Hi, thanks for this. Are you saying then that if I want VNC this is just a fact of life or do I have a specific issue?
I don't understand for instance how it was exposed to the internet? Of course VNC is over the internet I understnd that, but it should not be advirtising surely?
I have a ddns account, checked in there, changed passwords etc.
I ran a port scan, none of my ports are open all are slealth and do not respond

  • Correlation: no auto sleep & console entries?

    Hello.
Recently I get only very sporadic auto sleeps with my iMac (OS 10.5.6).
While looking for possible causes I found the following entry in the console (every 15 minutes):
    08.01.09 12:30:25 /usr/sbin/ocspd[228] starting
    08.01.09 12:45:33 /usr/sbin/ocspd[242] starting
    08.01.09 13:00:40 /usr/sbin/ocspd[258] starting
    08.01.09 13:15:48 /usr/sbin/ocspd[269] starting
Might this be the reason for the iMac not to go to sleep?

    Hi V.K.,
in the recent days I tried a lot of things (there are also other threads about the auto sleep problem where differnt reasons are being discussed).
I don't think there exists "the one and only" reason for Macs' insomnia. But it looks like in most cases running processes disturb the auto sleep.
I recognized my Mac's problem is user-indepedent. Therefore a "global process" must have been the trouble maker.
It might be the case that the ntpd settings have been corrupted (is that possible? To be honest, I don't know.) It might also have been a problem with Little Snitch. I reset LS's rules recently and had to allow the ntpd access again. In this time period I recognized the auto sleep problems but I don't know if there is a correlation between these processes.
Nevertheless De- and Reactivation of ntpd solved the issue for me.

  • Unknown log entries

    Hello,
can someone tell me the below from what command is generated as I turned all debugging of but it persists:
    *Mar  1 07:27:10.291: %SEC-6-IPACCESSLOGP: list 103 denied udp 1.1.1.1(2693) -> 2.2.2.2(14690), 1 packet
I have changes the ip addresses.
    Thanks !

These are not debug messages but basic level 6 logs from the router, to know more about them you can rerfer to this guide:

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Console: Latest entry is 6+ weeks ago

I have been troubleshooting slow startup on my MBP (Feb08). ONe of the suggested steps was to check the Console log. When I did, I discovered that the latest Console entry was March 12.
Obviously, this doesn't help with problems I might be having today.
Any thoughts on what to do here?
(The final entry, at shutdown on March 12 was:
    3/12/09 10:04:55 PM mDNSResponder[23] mDNS_FinalExit failed to deregister service: W88385SFYJX.ttp4daemon.tcp.484311266634876.

    Helo,
    *"3/12/09 10:04:55 PM mDNSResponder23 mDNS_FinalExit failed to deregister service:"*
    Change your DNS numbers.
    Try these DNS numbers.
Try putting these numbers in Network/Advanced/DNS.
Add these numbers to DNS Servers
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
Click OK. These are safer/faster than most ISP's NDS numbers, and have been patched against DNS poisoning.
    If that doesn't help...
Try booting from your install disk to check hard drive.
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
Check available disk space. Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop, then click: Get Info. In the Get Info window, click the discovery triangle so it's facing down. You will see; Capacity and Available Make sure you have 10% available disk space, 15% is better. Insufficient available space, can cause performance issues, system corruption, and possible loss of data.

  • The last three Java updates installed Jave Console extensions that won't uninstall using the supplied "removing addons" document. Java offers no help. How can I remove them?

In firefox 3.6.13 32 bit on Windows 7 64 bit with WOW subsystem, under Tools > Addons > extensions I see four Java console entries listed. They are: Java Console 6.0.20, 6.0.21, 6.0.22 & 6.0.23. 6.0.23 is active. The other 3 are disabled with the Uninstall button disabled. There are no extension folders in the default profile (only profile listed). There are not programs listed in the Windows Control Panel Remove programs pane.

Since I am unfamiliar with registry editing procedures, I used the manual removal process of deleting appropriate sub-folders from c:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\extensions. After stopping Firefox and restarting it, only the desired (Java Console 6.0.23) extension appeared in Tools > Add-ons > extensions. Problem solved! My thanks to both cor-el and The-edmeister for their helpful responses!

  • Aperture writing to the console log

The Console application receives a lot of messages from Aperture, whenever I am doing anything.
The Console entry usually looks like (95%)
    +1/26/11 5:45:29 PM [0x0-0x495495].com.apple.Aperture[30958] Wed Jan 26 17:45:29 mymachine.local Aperture[30958] <Error>: CGBitmapContextGetBitsPerComponent: invalid context 0x13d5f68b0+
    or I intermittently receive (5%)
    +1/26/11 5:41:49 PM [0x0-0x495495].com.apple.Aperture[30958] This isn't a bitmap context. Forcing destination format to ARGB_8 for CGContext.+
There can be anywhere from 8 to 20 entries per second. It makes trying to update faces slow to a crawl.
    I have Aperture 3.1.1.
My Aperture library is on an internal soft RAID, composed of three disks (I left the primary disk as the OS/application disk).
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try System.out.println("\033[32mTest\033[0m"); If it works, google for Ansi control codes.

(After trying to launch CS4, about 5 minutes after the last message...)
And if anyone wants to know what drives guys like me, who have paid, and paid, and paid, and paid Adobe over the years. We're not thieves; not crooks; not kiddies "sharing" software... it's this:
I just tried to use CS4. You know, the one I bought a licence for? The one that runs without complaining? The one that uses my 32-bit plugins? The one that I BASE MY BUSINESS AROUND... and guess what...
The license isn't valid anymore, now that I've upgraded to CS5. CS4 won't launch.
Congratulations, Adobe. You've managed to grab yet another user by the balls.
I'm a nice, patient, 63-year old guy. I'm not stupid... but what I am, now, finally, after dealing with all the issues of CS5... is PISSED OFF.
    I can't even go back to CS4!
So I'm effectively trapped. I paid yet another $200 to Adobe, and ended up with LESS than I had before spending that $$$
    Chris: you're a nice guy.
Adobe: stop selling professional tools and treating your users like children.

  • 2960X - show ip route - shows unknown routes

    Hi all,
I noticed on a 2060X which is connected to a vPC pair Nexus 5500 unknown routing entries.
The displayed default gateway (.11) was present on one of the old Core Switches. While doing the migration the cisco Nexus acts now as the default gateway (.1) and and the old core switches were turned off.
On the 2060X there is configured the default-gateway pointing to the HSRP address of the nexus. But there are on all 2060X some routes with another default gateway.
    ip default-gateway x.x.x.1
Maybe this is a bug ?!
    SWITCH-NAME#sh ip route
    Default gateway is x.x.x.1
Host               Gateway           Last Use    Total Uses  Interface
    a.b.c.d            x.x.x.11            0:05            7584          Vlan2
    e.f.g.h            x.x.x.11             0:00            99681        Vlan2
.11 was the old gateway which was connected on the old core switches (other vendor)
    Software on 2960X: 15.0(2)EX4
    Thanks
    Udo

    Hi Charles,
No there are no static routes configured nor a dynamic routing protocol is running.
It seems to be "no ip Host-routing " on 2960x and clear ip redirect on 2960S solved the Problem!! I don't know the reason!

  • Console spamming once certain site is visited

I started getting numerous repeat Console entries after visiting this site with Safari 3.1.2
    http://www. frozencpu.com/cat/l1/g36/Fans.html?gclid=COPooPjfnpkCFShRagodJFj2pw
(I've added a space after www. to prevent this being live, in case you don't want to go there inadvertently - but WOT finds the site itself safe, except there may be a tracking cookie, according to one comment- so remove its cookies if you visit).
I have Console set to bounce and the following starts getting written as soon as I visit the above. Here's a short sample:
Mar 12 23:09:24 localhost /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari: CGImageDestinationCreate capacity parameter is zero\n
Mar 12 23:09:28 localhost /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari: CGImageDestinationCreate capacity parameter is zero\n
Mar 12 23:18:00 localhost /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari: CGImageDestinationCreate capacity parameter is zero\n
Mar 12 23:18:07 localhost /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari: CGImageDestinationCreate capacity parameter is zero\n
Mar 12 23:18:07 localhost /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari: CGImageDestinationCreate capacity parameter is zero\n
And once it has been visited, merely going to History and, I think, Bookmarks Menu (perhaps set to History) produces new entries. If I remove it from History (I've also cleared out its cookies) I believe this behavior stops. I've tried it on FF (3.0.7) and Camino (beta 2), where nothing gets written to Console.
I'm wondering if anyone else can reproduce this and/or knows the meaning of the Console entries. I've checked the safety of this site with WOT and it reports nothing terrible for the site itself, but since there may be a tracking cookie, I'd advise clearing out its cookies after if you try this.

Actually, I don't think this is anything similar. It sounds more like a DNS issue. It's possible you have a Trojan which is redirecting your URL entries. Try going to System Preferences/Network and for DNS Servers enter these numbers. They are from Open DNS and safer. If you need directions to enter them, go to opendns.com:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
Go to Macscan.com and download their DNS Changer removal tool. It's free. Run it and it will scan for at least one of the Trojans that might be causing this.
Also, if that doesn't help, you'd be better off making this a separate posting where many more people will be available to help you. Good luck

Why is it telling me this?

    Greetings,
Those console entries appear to be from April 13th 2009 so that would have nothing to do with the startup disk message.
It sounds like your hard drive is full.  How much free space do you have?
You can check your available space by:
Click the Finder icon in the Dock (Little blue smiley face)
Go to the "GO" menu at the top middle of the computer screen near File and Edit
    Click on "Home"
Look at the bottom of the Home window and it will say XX GB  Available etc.
If you have any number less than 10 GB Available or so thats your issue right there.
To resolve that issue you would need to remove some of the content you've added like music, movies, or pictures,  You could delete them or better yet purchase an external hard drive and  copy them to that drive.
    Hope that helps!
