Unknown content in new memory card

I just bought a Nokia N70 ME ( inclusive of 1GB memory card )recently, but when i try to transfer some MP3 files into the memory card, there was a msg pop-up stating not enough memory and asking me to delete some data first,it really beats me because after checking the m.card details,it shows that out of the 900++ MB memory, only 64 MB used,so i have four issues here,
1st,the solution to fix the problem mentioned above,
2nd,the way to retrieve all the data/files/folders which used up the 64MB memory and also the way to delete it,if required ( because in my impression, i thought the m.card should be empty since it's a new one ),
3rd, in what circumstances that i'm required to format the m.card?
4rd, the step/setting which can channel the mp3 files directly into the m.card during the transfer via bluetooth ( either from phone to phone or pc to phone ).
Any reply over this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much Petrib and John,i just came back from the Nokia outlet, the sales assistant had it all figured out..it's because the accessive messages in the inbox have used up most of the phone memory..this is what she did : go to messaging > new message > options > settings > other > memory in use ( set to the memory card instead of phone memory ). she also added, in order to transfer the multimedia/mp3 files frm the inbox to the m.card, the inbox must have sufficient memory to do the transfer,so she advised me to delete some of the msg in the inbox before the transfer..it works!
she also advised me to install the pc suite n backup all the original folders/files/software in the memory card in case we want to perform the formatting so it will be easier for us to do the re-transfer.

I assume that you have installed new RAM in your MBP.
It would be helpful if you indicated the EXACT model/year MBP that you have.
What the the RAM specifications that you are trying to install?
    Ciao.

What errors are you seeing on the screen?

hi, can any one please advise what should I do for my server? Dell poweredge T630 cannot reboot after trying to add new memory card. Even I remove the newly added memory card and only keep the original one there, it still cannot reboot. Before I try to add the memory card, it works well without any rebooting issues.

  • Error -36 when trying to copy photos from new memory card to mac hd? HELP!! very important photos!

bought a new memory card, took 700+ photos, i can preview the videos (.mov) in finder and can see the thumbnail preview of the photos (.nef) but cannot open the photos larger in preview or copy any of the videos/photos to the hd. I can open the photos in photoshop directly from memory card but cant copy or move photos/videos from memory card to mac hd. (error -36 pops up..something about the file cant be read) please help!

I took the memory card back to best buy and the geek squad was able to help me fortunately by putting all of my pic files onto one of their PCs and then putting all my pics back onto a NEW memory card; then we plugged the new memory card into the computer and transferred the files seamlessly. Apparently there was some kind of issue with the way my memory card was formatted. I now put my new memory card into my camera, format it (very easily done with the in camera menu), and take a few test shots and transfer the pics to my computer before doing anything valuable with it. Thankfully all of my files were not damaged.
*BEWARE!! DO NOT FORMAT YOUR MEMORY CARD WHILE YOU HAVE PICS ON IT AS IT WILL CAUSE ALL PICS TO BE DELETED! IF YOU HAVE VALUABLE PICTURES TRANSFER THE ENTIRE DCIM FOLDER TO ANOTHER COMPUTER, THEN ERASE MEMORY CARD AND FORMAT IT, YOU THEN MAY BE ABLE TO PUT THE DCIM FOLDER BACK ON THE SAME MEMORY CARD AND USE IT SUCCESSFULLY. IF YOU STILL CANT USE THAT SAME MEMORY CARD YOU CAN TRY THE SAME PROCESS BUT AT THE END PUT THE FOLDER ONTO A NEW MEMORY CARD INSTEAD.
    Hope this helps someone =)

  • 5800XM - Transferring App's to new memory card

    Hi,
I've just purchased a new 16GB micro SD for my phone.
I tried transferring the card contents from my old card to the new one using Ovi suite, by first backing up the old card, putting in new card, and then doing a restore.
Although the files seem to have been transferred, the applications are not showing on the phone.
    Any ideas?

Did you enable Show hidden & System files on your PC first?
Although I have never experienced issues with a succession of larger memory cards, you could
always create an image backup of the memory card using Drive Snapshot and then restore that to the new larger card.

  • N86 New memory card

Hi to All, Have N86 and have a new 16G card. What is the best  way to transfer everything from the old card to the new one and install in the phone?

    @ardo
Just to elaborate on post by no1_slumko where correct principles outlined, I am assuming that you have already enabled "Show hidden & system files" on your PC, copy contents of smaller card to PC desktop and back on to larger card.
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/tips/hiddenfiles.mspx
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Show-hidden-files
Windows 7 - Open (My) Computer Press the Alt key > Click Tools > Folder Options…Click the View tab, select Show hidden files and folders, and uncheck Hide protected operating system files.
Although I have never experienced issues with a succession of larger memory cards, you could always create an image backup of the memory card using Drive Snapshot (another such image software) and then restore that to the new larger card.

  • Can't xfer programs to new memory card?

I've got a number of programs on my N82 and I just recently bought an 8gb minisdhc.  I used the content copier to make a backup of my old memory card, then inserted the new one and restored it.  It successfully moves all of the files, but it doesn't allow the actual programs to run.
The program that I really want to get working again is my Garmin Mobile XT.  I've been looking around and I can't find the discs for it, it was expensive and I'd love to have a way to move it from the old card to the new one.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Don't bother using the content copier, use the card reader to copy the content of the old memory card, including hidden and system objects, to your desktop. Format the new card in the phone, then put it in the card reader and copy all the stuff, including hidden and system objects, over to it. The applications on it should now work.

  • E72 - new memory card

Have just bought a new E72.  A 4 GB memory card is already inserted by Nokia and it has a lot on it - maps etc I guess.
I am getting a 32gb card for additional stuff.  How can I easily get the stuff from the original card onto the new card - can I just transfer it via a PC??

Remember to enable Show hidden & system files if not already on your PC first before copying contents to larger card.

  • How do you backup the contents of your memory card...

I have bought a much larger capacity memory card for my 6680. How can I backup the contents (total) of my old Nokia supplied card ? PC Suite 6.6 fails everytime when I try to use that. Does anyone have any suggestions ?

Again, I've got to agree with the others about the USB card-reader. You can pick up a card reader specifically for RS-MMC cards from MobyMemory.com:
    http://www.mobymemory.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Reader%5FUSB2%5FRSMMC%5F001
Transferring over bluetooth or even USB using PC Suite can be very time consuming.
My phone also fails when I do a backup, but mine fails on Contacts, not on the memory card backup, so it might be that the error PC Suite is giving you isn't about the memory card backup.
Another thing to note is that the PC Suite file format for backing up is a binary file though, so once you've got 512MB file with all your files inside, you can't just 'unzip' it and view the contents, you'd have to upload it back to the phone before it would be readable.
The best suggestion would be to use a card reader.
    Hope that helps

  • G5 won't read my new memory cards now?

Ok, so after going through a whole mess of getting the wrong memory cards (see this post: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8321578), I ordered new ones (which fit in just fine), but now that I've inserted them, the computer isn't recognizing them.
Yes, I've got them all the way in so the latches close, fitting into the slots on the side of the card, and they look as far in as the ones that were already in the system. Yes, I installed a pair, label side up. And yes, I followed Apple's online manual about putting the first sets in the slots marked 1, and now this is my first set for a pair of (outside) slots marked 2.
I've done and checked all this, but still when I check my Memory in the system profiler, the slots come up as empty.
I also tried resetting the NV-Ram by doing that apple/option/o/f thing, since I saw it suggested in another threadin this forum. Still the same issue. Am I missing some obvious step (I did follow the online manual) or any ideas of what could be wrong?

I'd bet you bought high-density ram. The G5 cannot use high-density ram so if that is the case you will have to exchange it for low-density ram which can be somewhat hard to find these days.
The best bet is to buy from a company that lists/sells RAM by computer model rather than memory speed/type.

  • 6110 transferring map to new memory card

Hi. I've just got a 6110 Navigator with UK map preloaded onto a memory card. I want to put in a bigger card but can't seem to be able to copy the map from the old one onto the new one. I've followed the help file instructions but it say Map Manager shouldhave a "Settings"button that I can't find to select the "copy card" option. Can anyone help?

the phone supports cards of 8 gb and higher. i currently got 8gb installed (make sure you have at least firmware 3.58 installed, 4.22 is better!)
nokia also says the phone supports 8gb, so ignore the post of babdi.
@bin_man: have you got at least firmware 3.58 installed? if so, reformat the microsdhc card, and then try to copy the data again. if you get the i/o error already while formating or later, the memory card is damaged (usually this kind of error occurs with damaged microsdhc cards). however you should still try to copy the data by simply using a different card-reader (do you currently transfer the data over usbcable through the nokia 6110 navigator onto the card?). and dont work on your computer during that time and best would be to disable the virus-scanner too.
@rickofpigs: first of all, also check firmware (3.58 or higher). second: format the microsdhc card, after that, start nokia navigator program once (with the microsdhc card in it, and no other data on the card), the phone will copy a few files onto the memory card that are necessary for the sync. after that you can try the sync, it should work fine.

  • E61 New Memory Card Files

    Hi,
I have just bought a new 1Gb memory card for my E61. This works fine other than I have now lost my Extra programs supplied with the phone (Worldmate, Acrobat etc). I have found that they are on the original card supplied with the phone in hidden directories but I cannot copy them accross to the new card.
I have tried copying both on the phone itself and on my PC with no luck. I get all the other files but it will not transfer the hidden files.
    Any ideas/
    David

Thanks I figured out this after wasting time trying to copy the files. They are spread around the Nokia site though, but now loaded onto phone memory not card now to get rid of the problem.

  • New memory card installed but getting 'Start up disc full' message?

Running on an old Power Mac G4, 256 MB, I have recently got a new ipod and began filling my itunes when I get a 'start up disc full' message. I've successfully installed another identical 256 MB memory card which the computer is recognizing (now showing 512 MBs of memory) but after downloading another 1 or 2 CDs I'm back to 'start up disc full'. I know I have the correct memory card for my G4 but it isn't allowing me more memory. Any suggestions? Do I have to change something that isn't in my owners manual?

    Hi-
    Welcome to Discussions!
You need more hard drive space. Although replacing the internal with another, larger drive is an option, it is easy to just add another drive. The G4, any model, can use up to 4 internal drives.
Some have size limits, so you need to tell us your G4 model. Use the "About this Mac" in the Apple menu on your desktop, and the following to ID your model:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58418
Another option is to buy an external firewire hard drive, so you can backup, and store files on it, freeing up space on your strtup drive. You really should have an external, anyways, so you have a backup, and don't lose any data if there is a problem.
Adding a hard drive is relatively easy. You can find Do It Yourself guides in the following:

  • E61 installation Acrobat Reader on new memory card

I installed a larger memory card in my E61, formatted and it found it working properly. However, a number of programs that work if I use the old small memory card do not appear on the menu if I insert the larger one. Among these programs are two I use all the time: Acrobat Reader and Zip Manager. I tried downloading and reinstalling but could not find the proper installation files. Both files Adobe offers for Acrobat reader under the Nokia/Symbian OS do NOT work with E61, and the Zip Manager installation file for Symbian I didn't find at all.

Those apps are available on Nokia's catalog list. Access the list on your E61 by going to:
Menu > Tools > Catalogs. Start up the app and install your choices onto your memory card.

  • My laptop dv6008eo was been automatic restart after i had installed new memory card

    help me solv this problem

    Hi:
PC3-10666/10660 memory normally does not work in HP notebooks.
You need to stick with PC3-10600 or PC3-12800 (which will downclock to 1333 MHz).
