Unknown coprocessor and unknown other device
I have a Compaq Presario F700 full model F712NR. For some reason 2 system devices windows couldn't find the drivers for.
I have spent several hours trying to find information on what coprocessor is in the system, but have had no luck.
The unknown device is apparently part of the acpi on the motherboard this is the only detail I receive in the device manager.
ACPI\HPQ0006
any info would be helpful. I got the system used with no operating system, and installed windows 7 on it when i finally was able to get a hard drive for it.
This question was solved.

That unknown device is the HP Quicklaunch.
Quick Launch
The coprocessor is part of the main chipset driver. You have the AMD model and I believe it uses the nForce 430 chipset with the nVidia 6100 graphics. You can use the HP Vista driver (32 or 64 bit) which should work fine
HP driver
or you can use the Vista/Win7 driver direct from nvidia.com here (32/64 bit):
nVidia
This is a much newer driver than HP's.

Mac connects to wifi, but internet doesn't work. Network diagnostics shows problem starts at ISP. All software is updated and all other devices are able to effectively use the wifi source.
Hi, KK93.
Sometimes a simple power cycle of the router and Mac can resolve the issue. However, try the steps in the article below to troubleshoot the Wi-Fi issue with your MacBook.

Also, see the article below to make sure the router setting have been optimized for performance.

I have a library book on the bookshelf of a newly acquired Samsung Nook but I cannot open it. My other devices work fine but I cannot activate the new unit. I get a "too many activations" error message. Customer Services say I have a valid license but they deemed my problem to be a technical issue and referred me to the forum. Thanks
Step 1 - by trial and error...
So far, I have been able to create physical files containing MP3 and JPG on the NAS using the Windows XP systems to copy from shared locations on the Vista and Win7 boxes. This process has been aided by the use of a 600 GB SATA 2 capable hard drive enclosure. I first attach to Win 7 or Win Vista and reboot to see the local drive spaces formatted on the portable device. Then I copy files from the user's private directories to the public drive space. When the portable drive is wired to an XP box, I can use Windows to move the files from the portable device to the NAS without any of the more advanced file attributes being copied to the NAS. Once the files are on the NAS, I can add the new folder(s) to iTunes on any of the computers and voila, the data becomes sharable via iTunes. So far, this works for anything that I have completely purchased, or for MP3's I made from the AIC files created when I purchased alblums via iTunes.
I have three huge boxes full of vynl records I've accumulated. The ones that I've successfully digitized via a turntable attached to the sound card on one of my computers and third party software, have found their way to the NAS after being imported into iTunes and using it to bring down available album art work. In general I've been reasonably well pleased with the sound quality of digital MP3 files created this way, but the software I've been using sometimes has serious problems automatically separating individual songs from the album tracks and re-converting "one at a time" isn't very efficient. -
Our iPad 3 is failing and we want to keep the photos and videos. Is there a way to easily transfer the photos and videos to a PC laptop, another iPad like iPad Air, or other device or location? Is it possible to use a USB drive? What accessories are required?
All you have to do is connect your iPad to the computer using the USB cable. If it has photos in the Camera Roll it will be recognized by the computer as a camera and you can load the photos to your computer.

Okay so I have several Linux devices in sync and one of them is synced also with a Microsoft 8 and the latest updates of Firefox. All of them are updated to the lastest. I had to change my password becaue for some odd reason the pass I wrote down was not being registered in my computer. Now because of that I had to change it for all of the other devices and none of them are detecting the new firefox password change. It just seems like a round circle where I change pass, and I have to continue to do that but each device wants to do the same thing.
What could be done is there some bug with respect to this!? Thanks. Please let me confirm what you are saying: when you change the password on one device, all of the other devices connected to the account are not disconnected and continue syncing?
[Bug 987719 - If user changes FXA password as Syncing client, don't kick them out of Sync]- this is outdated I think*
Do the other devices ever prompt you for a new password? And if you check about:sync-logs are there any errors after the time you changed the password on one of the devices?
Edit* ignore this post, though these are the steps we would take if there is a bug for future reference. -

My internet keeps freezing and blocking other devices
My wifi works for about 10 seconds then freezes, it also blocks other devices from using the wifi (when I switch off they are fine), have tried re-setting and clearing the computer and internet history, does any one have any advice please?
THe Gen3 TC fails on the ethernet side fairly often due to capacitor failure.
See here.
https://sites.google.com/site/lapastenague/a-deconstruction-of-routers-and-modem s/apple-time-capsule-repair/new-issue-with-a1355-gen-3-tc
There are two distinct issues.. capacitors shorted and the whole thing stops.. capacitors lose their function .. go open circuit if you like and then the ripple goes up to the point where ethernet fails. -
How do I sync my note from my notepad to iCloud and my other devices
How do I sync my note from my notepad to iCloud and my other devices
This was working but either iOS 6 or OSX 10.8.2
has seemed to have hosed things. Calendars and
Address Book seem to work fine. Notes are not
being distributed from my iPhone to my Macs.
Tried openning and closing Notes on my Macs multiple
times with no results. Waited for nearly 20 minutes with
no update to Notes on my Mac.
As a quick check, stuck a bogus appointment in Calendar
on my iPhone and a bogus addition to my Address Book
and they were pushed almost immediately to my Mac.
Update:
Logged into icloud.com account and found that Notes
has not pushed data to iCloud. So, seems like iOS 6
problem or an iCloud problem. -
Can I get my calendars back? If not how do I save some on my Mac and some to iCloud? I share many calendars amont my Mac, two iPads and 2 iPhones.
I saved the calendars from different devices. One or two were saved on my iPad. The rest were saved on my MacBook. All of them are gone from 5 devices that share them. What doi I restore?

Just like the tite says. I am investigating why my Macbook Pro (3,1) running Mountain Lion will not assign an IP address to a computer connected via Ethernet when Internet Sharing is turned on (laptop receiving WiFi connection, supposed to be sharing connection over ethernet). I tested using a relatives macbook and it worked just fine. It turns out my laptop is not creating the file: /etc/bootpd.plist when Internet Sharing is turned on.
I have a console log here from when I start internet sharing:

Any help is appreciated!Solved it, at least temporarily:
Investigate process binding port 67 with the following command:
sudo lsof -i 67
Close the offending process (in this case: bootps):
sudo /bin/launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/bootps.plist
Start internet sharing again from the system preferences panel -

I installed for the nforce devices the intel_8x0 for sound and forcedeth for networking.
Now I hear strange sound when I move the mouse, load data fron HDD or DVD. Even moving the curser with the arrowkey will make such sound.
What have I to mute such sounds?

chrisI have this problem too on my asus A7N8X-deluxe, but I have 2 solutions for this problem
On my gentoo box I solved it with the following command:
setpci -s 0:00.0 6F.B=0F
I found it somewhere on a forum, it disables cpu disconnect or something like that. Anyway, it works nice, so I created a bootup script to execute it every bootup
But I installed archlinux a week ago and I used the latest nvidia drivers this time (they are in the extra repository) and I do not have the problem anymore. I can clearly hear the noise untill I type "modprobe nvsound", then it all disappears -
My MacBook Pro (3,1) refuses to initially connect to any secured WiFi network (home, work, hotel, etc.). First it self-assigns an IP address and gives that little "!" symbol in the WiFi icon. Then, after a few moments, it connects to the Internet but knocks every other computer and device (iPads, cell phones, etc.) off the network. When you go to reconnect the other computers and devices, the MacBook Pro gets knocked off the network and then refuses to connect to the router at all (you get an instant "timed out" error) until a restart. It has absolutely NO problems whatsoever connecting to a non-secure network (free WiFi, WiFi without a password at home, or those public hotspots that take you to a webpage to agree to the terms before connecting).
The following are true of my MBP:
1. The entire harddrive has been replaced (not original). I had this problem before and after this replacement.
2. The OS has been upgraded / wiped / reinstalled more times than I care to count. I started having this problem with the original upgrade to OS X 10.5.x and have continued through to its current OS (10.8). No particular OS was more or less difficult that I could tell. It currently has a fresh (re-wiped) install of OS 10.8.
3. The AirPort card has been replaced.
4. The issues are consistent regardless of my location or the router / services I am connected to. I have no problems at all if there is no security - I have the above problems when trying to connect to a secure network (any security). I can be at home in my own house or in a hotel or airport - if there is no password, it connects no problem - if you have to type a password, forget it.
5. The computer doesn't have any problems using an Ethernet connection, and the WiFi behaves the same with or without an Ethernet connection (in other words, I can be connected to the Ethernet fine, but the WiFi can still self-assign an IP - the 169. whatever)
Any thoughts? Things I could try? Things I could be doing differently?Do this the stuff you find at the bottom of this thread:

CAr charging?
That would be because the charger isn't putting out enough power to charge your Phone while in use. Not all car chargers are created equal in terms of output. After doing some research, I found there are some you can buy, but this one seems to be about the best option. It's $15 and you can get it on Amazon.

Interesting spec on speed requirements for Leopard
On the readme on the DVD, it clearly says "..G4 (867MHz min) or G5." I am not sure that these are the exact words, but I am sure about those parentheses, which would indicate that the speed requirement only applies to the G4s. Now, it may be a typo o
