Hi:
None of the driver pages seem to be working for me.
Below are the links to the drivers you need...I got them from a business notebook which has the same hardware as yours.

  • G555. Need drivers for SM Bus and another Unknown device for Windows XP.

I try to install Windows XP on my G555. I got all other drivers, but cannot find drivers for SM Bus and an Unknown device. And what's this device?
The second problem is that after I installed all the drivers, the card reader disappeared. It was there after I installed Windows XP, before I install drivers.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Simpleguy,
    Welcome to the forum!
In thinkpads, it's usually intel chipset driver. For AMD based G555, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the driver you need:- http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_show_2476.html
As for other unknown device, find it's PCI ID with any other known information and paste here.
    Hope it helps.

  • Several Unknown Devices after Windows 7 Home Premium Reinstall

After losing all my data trying to encrypt my hard drive I reinstalled windows from my hard drive using HP's settings in the boot menu and got some weird results. One is that my C drive now only only has 65 gb of space, so I created a new partition with the remaining 215 gb on my hard drive. Additionally, my screen resolution has only 2 options, leaving my desktop looking strange. The worst of these problems is that several of my hardware items are showing up as unknown in addition to my wireless internet not working. Would it be better for me to reinstall again or try and find the drivers?

  • Satellite U200-124 - Unknown devices with Windows XP SP2

I downloaded Toshiba U200 drivers for Windows XP from this site, install Windows, install all drivers.
    Well.
But i have 2 unrecognized devices in device manager.
    1. NIC 1394. Device Code V1394\NIC1394\92423A3900
    2. PCI Device. Device Code PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_803C&SUSBSYS_00011179&REV_00\4&6B 16D5B&0&5BF0
Modem & FireWire are not working.
    What can I do?

As Ivan said the drivers are not installed correctly and therefore the unknown devices appear in the device manager.
The installation instruction shows the right installation order. This order is necessary and important to get all devices working!!!
Please visit the Toshiba European driver page, choose the right series and download and install the right and compatible drivers like mentioned in the txt. file

  • 'Unknown Device' in Windows

I am out of ideas. When plug my Zen Nano into my laptop by itself it is recognised, but as soon as i attach another usb devise (ie. an external hard dri've where i store my music) it comes up as an 'unknown device' in device manager. I have reformatted my computer, downloaded the lastest drivers and still no luck - any suggestions?

I reckon the additional device is drawing too much current from the USB port and the player is losing out.
The USB ports are normally in pairs - try keeping the 2 devices attached to ports in different pairs.

  • I cannot install windows 8.1 on my Envy touchsmart 15 notebook pc

I cannot install windows 8.1 on my Eny touchsmart 15 notebook pc. My current operating system is win 8.  After going throught the setup and about 35% of the drivers load, I get a black screen and the install quits. I have left it on all night and still no installation. I am not sure what to do next. I have all my drivers up to date, have stopped my backup system, unplugged all my external items and stopped my firewall and antivirus.

Wish you luck.  You are in good company.  None of the HP ENVY series appears to be able to upgrade to Windows 8.1 and no one at HP appears to know why.  In additgion, if you have looked lately, you may even find that there are no longer any drivers listed for Windows 8x64 either.  Only a place  to click to order (and pay for I presume) a Restore DVD.  Interesting choice of options considering the TouchSmart Windows 8 x64 models do not even have a DVD player to restore From in the first place.
HP definately dropped the ball on this one a it loks like they are not even going to provide solutions for those of us under Warranty.
Error codes I get are 0xC1900101  and  0x40019
I have read others saying it is a hardware problem but HP refuses to do anything about it

  • Windows 7 on my HP ENVY TouchSmart 17-j137cl

    Can I install windows 7 64x on my HP ENVY TouchSmart 17-j137cl (17.3" Notebook PC - Intel Core i7 4710MQ 2.5GHz 16GB 1TB)? Now there is a window 8. Will i find drivers?

Hi , Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. It is a great site for information and questions. I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY TouchSmart 17-j137cl Notebook and needing Windows 7 drivers. As this system came with Windows 8 downgrading could be challenging. Some of the drivers are not available for Windows 7 systems and you would be missing some of the special features. Here is a link so you can understand your downgrade rights.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating with Windows 7. Here is a link to you product driver page. Here is a document from Microsoft that might help with older programs working with Windows 8.1. I hope this helps. Thanks.

    Hi @LynnFlores ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. Thank you so much for all the steps you have taken to resolve. Very helpful. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion TouchSmart 14-b164tu Sleekbook and issues with the Touchscreen after an update with Windows 8.1. Here is a document on how to troubleshoot this Touchscreen with Windows 8.1.
Please start  at the top and work your way down. As they do seem silly but we need to know if something does not finish correctly.
Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues.
Listed on the page shows you about a Touchscreen driver that is available. If you go into the Device manager and look under Human Interface Devices. Do you see the driver listed there?
If no, do you see something listed under other devices?
If touch functionality still does not appear to be working correctly, follow the steps listed in the document to calibrate the screen.
    I hope something here helps.
    Thanks.

I just upgraded my ideapad u310 ultrabook to windows 8, a clean upgrade.
    there is one unknow device:
    ACPI/VEN_AOA&DEV_2011 (details)
does anyone know what it is...
Plus, does anyone know how to get veriface, onekey recovery back?
    Thank you!!

You have to install the lenovo energy management driver
    Download from below
    http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/em8.0.2.3.exe
However, the software for windows 8 may not work because of some issue from lenovo itself. So you can always use the onse for windows 7 if required. Test the windows 8 software first though.

  • Equium L10: Windows Vista Beta2 - unknown device

    Hi
I have a Toshiba Equium L10 with Windows XP loaded as default but I installed VISTA Beta2 "public release" on it and given that it's only a 1.5GHz Celeron CPU with 512MB RAM, it ran extremely well but, I have one problem which I am hoping that I can get help with from the users in this forum and especially those who have the same/similar Equium model as I have?
Ok, after installing VISTA I checked in Device Manager and noticed "Unknown Device". After checking out the info given in it's properties, I have detailed it below:
Location: Microsoft ACPI Compliant Embedded Controller
    Value: ACPI\ACPI 0001 * ACPI0002
When I re-installed XP again, I went to Device Manager/Batteries/Microsoft SMART Battery, the entry for Microsoft SMART Battery Subsystem has "ACPI\ACPI0002\6&28CA2229&0".
Notice the "ACPI0002" info given for the 'unknown device' in VISTA is the same info given for the "Microsoft SMART Battery Subsystem" in Windows XP. So I am left wondering if the unkown device under VISTA is the Microsoft SMART Battery Subsystem and if so, why did VISTA not install the driver for it?
Can anyone help with find a driver for the "unknown device" in VISTA?
    Regards
    Brave

    Hi
The unknown device appears because the driver is missing.
Unfortunately, at this time you will not find any Toshiba supported drivers for the Windows Beta2. This is a beta version and not official on the market.
I think if this OS will be official supported so you will also find the needed drivers.

  • Windows needs to install driver software for your unknown device

Windows needs to install driver software for your unknown device
This is the message that i get when ever i plug in my ipod touch to my computer. the computer is running on vista. i dont know what to do, because i tried to follow the steps suggested, but it didnt work, the computer said that it couldnt find anything and to check with apple for some driver software. HELP!!!

The iPod touch and iPhone do not use the same type of USB drivers that other Apple devices use. They both require Apple Mobile Device Services to be running. Using this tech article as a guide, you can easily fix this: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567
