  • Getting unknown error (11111)

I am having trouble updating apps on my ipod and itunes, getting Unknown error (11111)  I am on a laptop running windows 7 ultimate, using an apple id that goes through my yahoo mail.  I updated all of my account info, tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling and nothing works.  I'm also having a problem when I sync my ipod, itunes tells me it can not back it up becuase the back up is corrupt.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I saw this post... It might help if your an AOL member:
Okay, I have tried to find out why I have been receiving the "Unknown Error (11111)" when trying to purchase anything from iTunes. I think I figured out the problem. Seeing how there are few threads with answers to this problem, I'll save you some time. If you have an account with AOL and you are using your ID to log in, make sure that everything is up to date with AOL such as your billing information, etc., for some odd reason, my information needed to be updated and it had been at least a month since my last log in. All I did was log in and update my AOL info and I tried to purchase from iTunes and VOILA, it worked!!
Hope this helps... Let me know...:)

  • Unknown error 11111 when trying to purchase music

when clicking on buy in iTunes i receive a message saying 'unknown error occurred 11111 try again later'

If you have an AOL ID rather than an Apple ID, enter your password 3 times wrongly then it will prompt you to create an Apple ID, once this is sorted downloads should work again.

  • When I attempt to upgrade an app in iTunes for windows, I get an error:  "Could not purchase.  An unknown error occurred (11111).  There was an error in the iTunes Store.  Please try again later"

When I attempt to upgrade an app in iTunes for windows, I get an error:  "Could not purchase.  An unknown error occurred (11111).  There was an error in the iTunes Store.  Please try again later"
I am running the latest iTunes 10.7.0.21 for Windows 7.
This error occurs if I try to either update the app or if I delete it and attempt to redownload.
I have an iPhone and an iPad.  I am unable to update the apps or install the apps from within the App Store on iOS.
I do not have an AOL ID, as is a common issue with this type of error.
From what I can tell, my Apple ID account seems fine.  I logged in, changed some information, and ensured my credit card is valid and updated.
I can download new apps just fine.  I am unable to update or install apps I have purchased in the past.

After 30 minutes this morning, no resolution. Then another tech support call this afternoon, 15 minutes in, was escalated to a Tier 2 (Senior) advisor. He said something similar to the above ("this is one of the strangest things I've seen"). He was chatted with iTunes guys and took all my info into the case and was escalating it over to engineering. Said they would be in touch.
    So, no solution...yet.
    Just to clarify:
iTunes on Windows7: trying to update an existing app, or re-download a prior app, gives the (11111) error. Downloading a new (free) app worked fine.
App Store on iPhone5, iOS 6.0.1: click on UPDATE, switches to INSTALLING...for a second, then switches back to UPDATE. No error message (and nothing in Diagnostic data).
App Store on iPad 3, iOS 6.0.1: same as iPhone 5.
    Definitely account related.
I have cleared the store cache, signed out and back in, deleted the credit card data, and re-added, rebooting PC and iPhone...nothing works.
Will post if I hear anything back from Apple.

  • Error 11111 "Could not purchase song. An unknown error occurred.

When I try to download songs from iTunes, I get a message saying "Could not purchase song "x". An unknown error occurred (11111). There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later. This has been going on for 2 months now. Help!

I had the same problem; however, only whenever I wanted to purchase a "complete set" or sets (ie: iTunes Essentials) that had like, 70+ songs... It just so happened that tonight I had one $74.25 set in my shopping basket (simply because I neglected to remove it!) and added three $.99 songs -- I was able to purchase the whole cart in one fail swoop by clicking on the button in the lower right hand corner that says "buy now". Hope this helps! K:)

  • TS1424 unknown error occurred (11111)...

When I try to update apps in itunes, it gives me a message saying: "could not purchase. an unknown error occurred (11111). There was an error in the Itunes Store. Please try again later."
    Can somebody help me?

Hi everyone, I somehow managed to fixed it through my iPhone.
    Go to
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads turned both to ON
    Then
iTunes & App Stores > click on your Apple ID > View Apple ID > updated my payment data
Hope it works for you too

  • Error (11111)

I have been receiving the error "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (11111). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later." This has been happening for 3 days. I cannot find mention of the (11111) error code.
Support gave me the files that said it was a firewall issue, software issue or keychain problem, of which none of these has solved the problem (I have added no software except Apple upgrades since my last purchase). I was able to pre-order Springsteen's "Magic" but that's it. Any suggestion?

iTunes is playing up and has been since I tried to 'buy' several songs yesterday evening. I have had an account for years and have never encountered such problems as I have in the last two days. For instance, iTunes keeps telling me that it does not recognize my password and my 'payment has been declined' therefore I am not going to 'panic' and reset my settings - Apple will sort out the problem tomorrow Monday 3 September when they realize that not many of their customers have been buying!!!

  • Error 11111 iTunes Match

While downloading some musics from iTunes match, I get this error saying the content is not available. Is it a problem in my end?
    Thank you.

Same problem here. Not all music, just various tracks. It seems strange for it to be a network problem since most other tracks still work.
    The error reads:
There were problems downloading some purchased items.
For more information on the items that could not be downloaded, click below.
There was a problem downloading “(Song Title) / (Album Title) / (Artist Name)”. An unknown error occurred (11111).
Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again.

  • Error 11111 in iTunes store.

I just bought a 15 dollar iTunes card to buy music in the iTunes store like I normally do. The card redeemed fine and my money showed up, but when I went to buy a song it said "Could not purchase 'song'. An unknown error occurred (11111)." I tried this with several different songs, receiving the same results. Help?

Apple mention some errors in their Help page at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297 - expand 'Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows)' - but not that one (and the information they do give is a bit vague). I would assume it's another server glitch like '11111' which has been happening intermittently for some time. I'm afraid that probably all you can do it try again later - you could try emailing them at podcasts 'at' apple.com but I can't promise you'll get a helpful answer.

  • Can't purchase music, error (11111)

I keep getting an error in the iTMS that says *"Could not purchase 'song'. An unknown error occurred. (11111) There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.*
How can I fix this? I have a credit in my account that I want to spend and it doesn't even let me download that one free song.
It's been going on for quite a few days. And even with a valid internet connection, I can't download any music from my iPod touch because I get the same error. Is it a problem with my account? Is something going on?

    Hi
I had the same problem but I login with an AOL ID, if you do the same, enter your password wrongly 3 times it will prompt you to create an Apple ID, once you have the Apple login sorted your downloads should work again

  • HT201263 my iphone 4 went into recovery mode & will not restore. Unknown error 21 comes up on iTunes. Please can someone offer any ideas for a solution?

I have an iphone 4 nearly 2 yrs old. It has worked perfectly for that time. On Friday last (whilst away on holiday) I took the phone out of my pocket & it was lifeless. I tried switching it on, no joy, I tried the power/home button reset no joy. I plugged it into a mains charger & it came on but had a banner across the screen saying "verification required". I removed the charger & decided I would try again when I got home so I could connect to my PC & iTunes.
At home I went through the whole above process again but when I plugged it into the mains again it just had the Apple logo going on/off repeatedly. I plugged the phone into my PC & the apple logo appeared followed by the "connect to iTunes". In iTunes I get the banner "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes". So I click on "OK" the "Restore" then a banner asking if I'm sure I want to restopre the iPhone appears, press "Restore & Update". iTunes starts to remove the software, veryfies it with Apple & then another flag "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (21) which appears to be a security issue.
I thought the above problem was something to do with O2 because I picked up my new iPhone 4S last Tuesday but was unable to set it up until I got back from my holiday, O2 say it isn't anything they've done.
My question is has it happened to anyone & can anybody offer a solution, is it a hardware or software issue?

  • Unknown Error during Recovery - iPad no longer Recognized by iTunes

I have a 3rd Generation iPad which I was attempting to perform a factory reset.  I received an "Unknown Error" during the process and from that point on I have been unable to get iTunes to recognize my iPad in recovery mode (or otherwise).
I have tried every thread on the subject, but I found one interesting thing.  If I connect the iPad with the same cable, etc. to another computer it immediately recognizes it in recovery mode and offers to restore the iPad.
It seems like my computer is not recognizing the iPad because it was in the process of restoring the device when the error occurred.  Does anyone know if there is a way to reset or fix this issue.  I would prefer not to update iTunes and download both the new iTunes and iPad software again and use another computer if it is not necessary.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hey KSHItunes,
That was a good test to try your iPad on another computer.  It does seem to isolate the issue to something with your computer setup.
Although you would prefer not to update iTunes, there may be steps in this article which can help.
