Unknown Error (-1450)

I've been trying to get a video file that came with an album I've purchased but everytime the file is done downloading I get a message saying "A problem occured during the download. An unknown error occured (-1450).". I've tried to find the code in the error code list but it's not in there so went with the solution for error code (-50) but with no success. Resuming the download process for that file just gives me the same message. It seems to be a problem in the treatment of the file after the download but got no clues on how to fix it.

Your antivirus might be blocking it. Check this out.

  • New 7.5 Unknown Error (-1450)

Hi everyone. After installing the new version (7.5) this error message appeared- Itunes library cannot be saved unknown error (-1450) and deleted my library. Although it was backed up. So I uninstalled and reinstalled everything and still the same thing happened. Anyone have any ideas????? Or where i can download the old version from that would be great. Thank you.

Look man, I've had a personal experience with this error myself, and I know how frustrating this is. I have found a very probable solution, so this is my post from another thread that should hopefully solve your problem. It has nothing to do with your upgrade to itunes 7.5. Believe me, I know first hand what this error does. Here it is....
"I may have found a solution for some of you and possibly me for this problem. I found this article while searching google and it seemed to make perfect sense. It's an issue with memory or virtual memory. Cuz this "error" seemed to appear after I had nearly 2000 songs in my library. I don't think it had enough memory to save the library because it was way to big.
Here's the article: http://sonnoprofondo.net/tech/2006/41 I'm pretty that's the only problem causing this error. Good luck!"
Let me know if this was your solution. I just know first hand what this is entails and how I've spent many nights trying to get rid of it. Now, I'm trying to help anyone I can because I don't want other people to go through what I had to. Best of luck!!!

  • Error 1450: library falsly corrupted, can't restore ipod

every time I start itunes it gives me this error 1450 and starts reimporting all of my music because my library is damaged. If I close itunes and delete both damaged and new libraries and restore it from a backup (identical to one itunes just told me was damaged) it starts fine. Then it tells me that the library cannot be saved (also error 1450). I try to sync my ipod and it says "the ipod cannot be synced due to unknown error (1450)" I then try to restore the ipod completely, so i click restore, confirm I want to restore it then it says "the ipod cannot be restored due to unknown error (1450)"
itunes also keeps saying some files are missing and to reinstall. reinstalling will let me start itunes WITH the errors again for a little while.
what in the name of hopelessness can I do about this?

  • The itunes library file cannot be saved. An Unknown error occurred (-1450)

    Greetings,
    I'm getting the following error:
The itunes library file cannot be saved. An Unknown error occurred (-1450)
I have uninstalled/reinstalled Itunes twice including deleting the old databases. After importing my old songs I get the above error continuously and when I restart Itunes my songs are no longer listed in Itunes.
One thing, all the folders on my computer or now "Read-Only" I can't get rid of this. I uncheck it and aply the change but when I check the properties for the folder again Read-Only is selected again. This is a funny read-only in that the check in the box selecting read-only is ghosted but still there AND WONT GO AWAY.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

i did move the music library folder to a shared documents folder, but I'm the only one who uses that folder. and the hard drive is not full, almost, but still 10 gigs left for use. itunes was working fine, and then one time when it started up it said the there were missing files, and that itunes had to be reinstalled. I looked but could not see any missing files. nothing bad has happened.it cant be a virius, because i have not been on the internet at all in the last month. but i did use CCleaner to clean out my hard drive of unnecessary files , not the first time i have, and then itunes did not work, this has never happened after I've done this so i doubt that CC was the prolbem. I looked at all of the files it was going to delete, and none of them were related to itunes.

  • An unknown error occurred (-1450)

I got an "An unknown error occured (-1450)" message when downloading an album from iTunes and not all tracks were downloaded - how do I get the remaining tracks and what went wrong?

Just to be clear, do you have the "iTUnes Music" folder with all the songs on another drive, or the "iTUnes Music Library.xml" file on the other drive?

  • Library file corrupt - error 1450

I have had some irritating problems with iTunes since installing the new 7.3.1 version last week.
The error message I got originally was:
The iTunes Library file cannot be saved.
    An unknown error occurred {-1450}
I have uninstalled and re-installed the program, but the error continues when I re-import the music folder. The music appears in the "Music" folder in iTunes, but the same error as above occurs when iTunes is trying to process the album Artwork. I have tried deleting the tracks that the error comes up on, but the error continues on other tracks, apparently at random.
Please can you give me some advice to fix this problem, as iTunes and my iPod is pretty unusable at present.

I don't use adobe mobile packager for this purpose; however there are some basic things to worry about during packaging so that your file won't be corrupted:
1> Did you Entered Correct UID order for an edition (2nd or 3rd Editions)?
2> Did you create .key and .cer files ? (key and certificate) ?
3> Did your Swf run normally in the mobile phone before packaging ?
4> Did you make sure you entered a valid path for your application to be installed during extraction ?

  • Errors -1450 and -10000 when trying to download music.

Can't contact Apple via Express Lane as the page has errors.  Have tried everything!  Please help!  Error -1450 says it is an unknown error and -10000 says the file is corrupt.  Have tried downloading again, and rebooting PC but nothing.  Have reported a problem through Purchase History but have no way of contacting Apple support due to errors on the Express Lane website.  If anyone has any tips, I would really appreciate it.  Thank you!!

"The reason why you can't see the burn key is that you can't import songs from the iPod to the computer."
The reason the burn button is not visible is because you cannot burn cds directly from the iPod as btabz said previously. It has nothing to do with importing songs from the iPod to iTunes (which incidentally, can be achieved in many ways).

  • "The iTunes Music Library file cannot be saved" - Error 1450

I get this error when I try to update my library:
"The iTunes Music Library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-1450)."
I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTune for about 7 times but it keeps coming back.
    What can I do?

I wish I could say either the Reg changes or disabling McAfee anti-virus worked for me, but I am still stuck.
I am running 6 on a Win2K Server. My account is admin and I have confirmed it is not a permissions issue or a lock file issue.
I receive the -1450 error in the following conditions:
    1. iTunes attempts to save library
    2. iTunes attempts to download a purchase (actually, it appears to occur after the file is downloaded, but it does not save the file to disk, although it thinks it downloaded the file)
    3. iTunes attempts to rip a CD. This is a random occurrence whereby the rip stops at some random place mid-song. I may have it happen immediately, then work for a few songs, then happen again. I have been able to rip 2-3 CDs before seeing the error, whereas other times it seems to occur with the first song and I retry a few dozen times before it works again. I have used 2 different CD drives.
    4. iTunes attempts to sync with the iPod. In this case, I randomly receive the error that I need to reset my iPod to factory defaults. However, after a day of waiting, it works again. I actually tried to reset the iPod to factory defaults when I was first presented with this problem--it caused a write error and crashed the iPod to the point where it could not even be recovered by the Apple staff at the Apple store; they gave me a new replacement unit.
I have to think this is a programming issue on the iTunes side, specific to Win2K (and possibly NT). Has anyone had this problem on an XP box?
My next step is to move all my files and software over to my XP box and see if I receive the same errors. Should that fail, I'll use a non-iTunes product until a software update is released.
Anyone from Apple checking into the -1450 error issues?

  • Please help...received error -1450

Something happened and suddenly my complete iTunes library was gone. After calming down and realizing it was fixable...I was able to migrate my Library back into iTunes. Now an error is repeatedly showing up saying "The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occured (-1450)."
Now I am afraid to close down iTunes...what does this error message mean?? Thanks for any help you're willing to give me.............
Oh yeah, the error window gives me the option of clicking "OK" or marking the box "don't show this to me again." I can also X out of the box, but it keeps returning.

Next to the file you were attempting to Save As to when the crash occurred, you should find a file with the same name but ending in "renamed" plus some numbers. Delete the unopenable flie and change the name of the "renamed" file to be the original file name with a .muse file extension. You should find it's the original file you had opened.
Are you working with the .muse file stored on a file server? Or is it on a local drive?

  • Answer for error 1450

i had been having trouble with this for a while, it's the error where the library will not save each time you go on, so you have to upload all the music and playlists ect. again and again
i e-mailed my techy friend and it's SO SIMPLE it's ridiculous
this is what the e-mail said:
AGH error 1450, the one that gets itunes a bad bad name!!
    Try this:
    close iTunes
    rightclick my computer
    select properties
    select advanced tab
    select performance settings button
    select advanced tab
second box down is Memory Usage
uncheck system cache (untick the box)
    check programs (tick the box)
    save, reboot
    AND IT WORKS
i hope I've helped people who've had the same problem

I am having the same issue. I upgraded my iphone ios last night. And tried to upgrade my apps, but was given the message "an unknown error has occurred." So, I tried to make a purchase from my computer (WindowsXP) and received "We could not complete your itunes request. An unknown error occurred (5002). There was an error in the itunes store. Please try again later." Which I did, but still not working.

  • HT201263 my iphone 4 went into recovery mode & will not restore. Unknown error 21 comes up on iTunes. Please can someone offer any ideas for a solution?

I have an iphone 4 nearly 2 yrs old. It has worked perfectly for that time. On Friday last (whilst away on holiday) I took the phone out of my pocket & it was lifeless. I tried switching it on, no joy, I tried the power/home button reset no joy. I plugged it into a mains charger & it came on but had a banner across the screen saying "verification required". I removed the charger & decided I would try again when I got home so I could connect to my PC & iTunes.
At home I went through the whole above process again but when I plugged it into the mains again it just had the Apple logo going on/off repeatedly. I plugged the phone into my PC & the apple logo appeared followed by the "connect to iTunes". In iTunes I get the banner "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes". So I click on "OK" the "Restore" then a banner asking if I'm sure I want to restopre the iPhone appears, press "Restore & Update". iTunes starts to remove the software, veryfies it with Apple & then another flag "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (21) which appears to be a security issue.
I thought the above problem was something to do with O2 because I picked up my new iPhone 4S last Tuesday but was unable to set it up until I got back from my holiday, O2 say it isn't anything they've done.
My question is has it happened to anyone & can anybody offer a solution, is it a hardware or software issue?

  • Unknown Error during Recovery - iPad no longer Recognized by iTunes

I have a 3rd Generation iPad which I was attempting to perform a factory reset.  I received an "Unknown Error" during the process and from that point on I have been unable to get iTunes to recognize my iPad in recovery mode (or otherwise).
I have tried every thread on the subject, but I found one interesting thing.  If I connect the iPad with the same cable, etc. to another computer it immediately recognizes it in recovery mode and offers to restore the iPad.
It seems like my computer is not recognizing the iPad because it was in the process of restoring the device when the error occurred.  Does anyone know if there is a way to reset or fix this issue.  I would prefer not to update iTunes and download both the new iTunes and iPad software again and use another computer if it is not necessary.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hey KSHItunes,
That was a good test to try your iPad on another computer.  It does seem to isolate the issue to something with your computer setup.
Although you would prefer not to update iTunes, there may be steps in this article which can help.

  • Ipod no longer authorized (unknown error -42408)

posted this at itunes site as well.
out of blue, having problem i've never had syncing my 60G ipod.
for years have been syncing this ipod with my itunes on my macbook (only). for the past few times (?month or so), i'm getting an error message when i try to sync that first says, the ipod/macbook is not authorized for this ipod (which it always has been).
then it asks me if i want to authorize it. when i hit "authorize", it brings up an old itunes account i had and asks me for the old password, which i enter. then i get an error message that says:
"unknown error -42408. error in itunes store. please try again later."
how do i fix this so that i don't get this error message and can continue syncing with my most recent account, which has NEVER been a problem in the past?
    thanks.

I have exactly the same problem. My iPod is a 30GB one from 2005 or 2006 (I don't know how to identify its category). When it was new, I had a PC; then a year and a half ago I switched to a Mac and got everything transferred ok, and have been synching the iPod to the Mac with no trouble since then. (Well, slight trouble, because the iPod is now very full, and I haven't figured out the best way to synch "almost everything", but so far I'm managing somehow.) But just before leaving Moscow March 10, I wanted to synch and recharge the iPod, and got the same problem, with the same sequence of messages described at the start of this thread. So I only recharged it. Now I'm in Amherst, tried again, exact same problem. So now only recharging again.
Same computer, same iPod, why does it suddenly not recognize that this computer is authorized to synch this iPod, and why does it make this error when I tell it to authorize it? And how can I fix it?
    Grateful for any help.
    Barbara
