Unknown Error (-4) when trying to submit podcast RSS feed
I have been having this problem for two days now. I'm trying to submit the RSS feed://www.toikids.com/physicians/peds.xml to the store and I get the following error message every time.
We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-4). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
I get his message when using http:// and feed://. I have validated the feed and have tested it in iTunes and in my browser, so I know its not the feed. I haven't found anything about "unknown error -4" either. Any suggestions?
I'm using iTunes 8.1.1 (10) if that matters.
Seems like Apple is at least aware of the issue. I got this response from Apple Support:
+I'm sorry this error message is persisting. Apparently there is an issue with submitting podcasts today and Apple is working hard to correct it.+
+I recommend waiting until tomorrow to try submitting again and replying to this email by Tuesday if the error happens again.+
+I know this is an inconvenience and for that I sincerely apologize. I appreciate your patience with this, Jeff!+
Sincerely,
Kev

Error when trying to submit podcast RSS feed.
I was just trying to publish my podcast and submit the rss feed to itunes. To do this i simply went to file>submit podcast to itunes. I did this using iWeb, but for some reason every time I do this it gives me an error message. I cant figure out what im doing wrong, I thought iWeb was supposed to make a working RSS feed automatically. Also, after hitting publish to .Mac, I went to .mac and clicked my site, but the site is not at all updated, instead it is the old site. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
If you did a "Publish All to .Mac" and remembered to empty your browser cache, it would seem that you are not connected to .Mac.
This would also explain your failure to upload the RSS feed.
However, I notice that somebody else is having this problem...

My Ipod nano gets unknown error -48 when trying to restore and download the software update. Specifcally, when I connect my ipod, I get a message saying itunes cannot access the ipod and that I should restore it. I go the the ipod tab, hit the restore button and the download begins (approx 16mb). The download completes, and then I get this message :
There was a problem downloading the ipod software for the ipod "ipod". An unknown error occurred (-48).
Please help !!!!!Even though not specifically listed, try the steps here:

Try signing out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again and see if that works for you.
Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap your ID and sign out.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Sign in again -Settings>Store>Apple ID - sign in.
If that doesn't work either, reset your iPad and see if that helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
'An unknown error occurred when trying to play the...
Hello,
I have had a BT Vision package for a few months but we recently moved house and wanted to transfer our services. Since moving in, we have got the telephone, internet and TV channels working however we are struggling with the additional TV services (i.e. catch up, recording, on demand).
Everytime we try to play something on catch up or via on demand, or try to play a recorded programme, it attempts to load but then the following error message appears at the bottom of the screen in a red box - 'An unknown error occurred when trying to play the video OutputProtectionEnableFailed'
I have phoned BT's technical department on several occasions who have not been able to resolve the issue. I have tried Googling this error message and searching BT's website however I cannot find any comments about this error. BT have offered to send a technician out however will automatically charge £99 if this is an error with the cable rather than the BT box. This is a lot of money and I am not able to risk this potential charge when I'm not sure what the problem might be.
If anyone know's what might be causing this , or has had the same error message themselves, I would be very grateful to know.
Many thanks,

Unknown error occurred when trying to play film clip in Facebook.
Since the latest update I have problems when I want to watch film clips posted on Facebook.
This only happens with clips that are shown "in" Facebook, if it's a link to a clip outside of Fb it's not a problem.
When trying to watch a clip it says, either directly or various times into the clip, "An unknown error occurred when trying to play a film clip".
if I try over and over again the clip finally plays to its full length but it really annoys me.
Anybody got an idea?We got some reports of this lately and as you say, it only happens in Facebook.
Try clearing data for the Facebook app under Settings -> Apps and se eif that helps. If not, please see this thread: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z1-Z1s/Facebook-Videos-not-playing/m-p/727861

Unknown error message when trying to update or download Apps?
Hello! I have had no problems till now, and have been happily downloading and updating for 9 months. Yesterday I received an unknown error message when I tried to update an App on my IPad 2, and have since been unable to update or download. Have tried closing down and restarting, changing password, and usual things. Any good ideas? Does this happen often? Everything is working, I simply can't download from App store. Thank you for any helpful suggestions.
Read my post in this discussion. Signing in and out of the account worked for the OP in that thread.

Hey everyone,
I'm getting an "unknown error." when I'm trying to login iTunes 11.
When I enter my apple ID and password I the same window pops up again with "Unknown error." in red.
When I try to login again I get the popup with "Did you forget your password?" but I know for sure that I entered my password right.
Everything worked perfectly before.
The last app I downloaded was Real Racing 3 from the AU appstore. (with a second account, my main account is for the Dutch appstore.

404 error when trying to submit podcast but I'm able to subsribe via Advanced menu
Okay, so first things first, here's the URL I'm using: http://www.spreaker.com/show/160815/episodes/feed
I'm able to subscribe using other RSS feed programs and am also able to subscribe by going through the Advanced menu on iTunes.
But when I try to submit that URL in the Submit Podcasts to the iTunes Directory feature, I get the dreaded 404 code.
I went to Feed Validator and plugged in the URL and it said, "Sorry. This feed does not validate."
But like I said, I'm able to use it on other RSS programs and via iTunes' Advanced menu.
I'm utterly lost and would appreciate any help. Thanks!I think this is what you want...

I get "Unknown Error." when trying to re-log into the iTunes Store for Windows
My AppleID and password work when using a web browser and logging in here, but not when i try to log in through iTunes for Windows.
My events leading up to the error are below. Any suggestions for a fix/solution?
1) "Unauthorized Computer" message when trying to play newly bought iTunes movie.
2) Authentication Failed using AppleID
3) Sign out completely
3a) Try to sign in, but get "Unknown Error."
4) Uninstalled iTunes
5) Reinstalled iTunes
6) Login attempt: Unknown Error
7) Tried deleting "SC Folder" from User Tips
8) Login attempt: Unknown Error
Any thoughts on what I could do differently to get this resolved? How I solved my UNKNOWN ERROR login issue:
I figured out that I had downloaded the 32 bit version of ITunes but I have the 64 bit version of Windows 8. So I uninstalled the 32. and downloaded and installed the 64 bit version of ITunes and everything worked just fine. The Windows 8 firewall was not an issue.
How to determine your version of Win 8. Go to Control Panel, System & Security, then System and that screen shows the version.
I just brought home a new Toshiba laptop and was surprised to see that I have the 64 bit version. But pleased that I fixed the agrivating ITunes issue.
Good luck! -
An unknown error occurs when trying to use daq express VI's
When I try to open the daq express VI in labVIEW 8.2 (it doesn't matter which one), the program tries to "initialize" like its supposed to, but then it says that NI Assistant host encountered an error and needs to close, then gives a message saying "an unknown error has occurred." Also, Measurement and Automation doesn't work anymore, although it did before. I searched the forums and couldn't find anything like it. Does anyone know what's going on?
Hi Kodeeswaran,
What version of LabVIEW are you using? Are you seeing the same issues with Measurement and Automations Explorer?
When you reinstalled everything what order did you install all the software?
The issue might be caused by file permissions. Do you have Administrative rights on the computer? If not can you try replicating the issue while logged on as administrator. If you don't see the error while administrator you will need to change the file permissions for some necessary files:
Log onto the computer as an administrator
Browse to the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MAX directory
Right-click the MAX folder and select Properties
Click the Security tab, and click the Add button
Type in the user name and click OK
Give the user Read & Execute, List Folder Contents, and Read permission
Click Apply and then OK
If you have several different users and want all users to use the DAQ Assistant, repeat the above steps but type everyone for the user name. The above steps are written for Windows XP with a NTFS file system. For previous Windows versions, the procedure will be very similar but may not be exactly the same.
