Unknown error 42032

After startup of I-tunes an error displays with the message "a unknown error has been ocuured (42032)" and it seems to me that I-Tunes is working properly.
I am using Windows 7 proffessional (64 bit) and I-Tunes 10.4.080. Can somebody explain what the root cause is for the above mentioned error message?

Folks,
I have solved the issue by running I-tunes under administrator. Many thanks to all of you who posted this solution for other users across the globe previously.
I don´t have frustrations anymore about the continous error message after startup.
Thanks!

  • ITunes Unknown Error (-42032)

I wish to know how to solve this error. It's not that I can not use iTunes, because I can, but once I say OK to the error and start to use iTunes, a message keeps popping up every few seconds or minutes saying that iTunes is trying to connect itself to the store which is already connected... and while this message appears I cannot run the different options and features of the program.
    Please help me, thank you!

    Hey Laia,
Try starting iTunes as an administrator (right click on the icon => start as administrator). If this works it will work also the next times you start iTunes.
    I hope it works!

  • Unknown error number -42032 when loging to the store

Hi, I recently registered with iTunes (this is my number one music/movie buying experience ;)), I successfully bought one movie, iTunes downloaded it without any problems, but since then I cannot either play the movie or buy anything else. I am getting the unknown error number -42032 whenever iTunes want me to log on...
    What could be the problem?
    Thanks a lot, Alice.

    Hi rob8up,
How long ago did you speak to the techs? Have you given them (meaning Apple) enough time to rectify this issue? If not, chill out. If so, then we can't help you here. We are just users like you....
You can send feedback to Apple via this link:

  • Error (-42032) when accessing the iTunes Store?

    Hello to all,
Could somebody tell me, why I always get the following message in German "An unknown error occured (-42032)" when I try to access the iTunes Store and
how can I avoid this message? The technician from Appel was unable to help me.
I wonder if you can help me.
Thank you in advance and best regards.

    Doublechecking. Is that a 42023 rather than a 42032?
If so, perhaps try the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

  • Itunes persistent error -42032

New itunes (10.1.0.56) does not work with Windows XP. Authorizing of computer or purchasing/downloading apps cause "Unknown error occurred (-42032)".
According to other blogs, this error persists for several weeks, with no reaction from Apple. Have you any solutions available?
    Cyril

I have this error since Monday Jan 24th. It was all OK till Friday before.
FYI I have update my iTunes to last version 10.1.1.4 about 2 weeks ago and I have iPhone with iOS4.2.1 since it was releasted.
So, something has to changed last weekend on iTunes Store, because everything was OK for me before.
Anyway here is a trick which works for me:
    1) Close iTunes
    2) Open cmd line and write there: ipconfig /flushdns and press enter
    3) Open iTunes and ... it works
I can purchase new apps and also I can download new apps updates.
I did not try Sync yet, so I will see...

  • HT201263 my iphone 4 went into recovery mode & will not restore. Unknown error 21 comes up on iTunes. Please can someone offer any ideas for a solution?

I have an iphone 4 nearly 2 yrs old. It has worked perfectly for that time. On Friday last (whilst away on holiday) I took the phone out of my pocket & it was lifeless. I tried switching it on, no joy, I tried the power/home button reset no joy. I plugged it into a mains charger & it came on but had a banner across the screen saying "verification required". I removed the charger & decided I would try again when I got home so I could connect to my PC & iTunes.
At home I went through the whole above process again but when I plugged it into the mains again it just had the Apple logo going on/off repeatedly. I plugged the phone into my PC & the apple logo appeared followed by the "connect to iTunes". In iTunes I get the banner "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes". So I click on "OK" the "Restore" then a banner asking if I'm sure I want to restopre the iPhone appears, press "Restore & Update". iTunes starts to remove the software, veryfies it with Apple & then another flag "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (21) which appears to be a security issue.
I thought the above problem was something to do with O2 because I picked up my new iPhone 4S last Tuesday but was unable to set it up until I got back from my holiday, O2 say it isn't anything they've done.
My question is has it happened to anyone & can anybody offer a solution, is it a hardware or software issue?

  • Unknown Error during Recovery - iPad no longer Recognized by iTunes

I have a 3rd Generation iPad which I was attempting to perform a factory reset.  I received an "Unknown Error" during the process and from that point on I have been unable to get iTunes to recognize my iPad in recovery mode (or otherwise).
I have tried every thread on the subject, but I found one interesting thing.  If I connect the iPad with the same cable, etc. to another computer it immediately recognizes it in recovery mode and offers to restore the iPad.
It seems like my computer is not recognizing the iPad because it was in the process of restoring the device when the error occurred.  Does anyone know if there is a way to reset or fix this issue.  I would prefer not to update iTunes and download both the new iTunes and iPad software again and use another computer if it is not necessary.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hey KSHItunes,
That was a good test to try your iPad on another computer.  It does seem to isolate the issue to something with your computer setup.
Although you would prefer not to update iTunes, there may be steps in this article which can help.
