Unknown Error 4450 while trying to burn CD

I burned several CD's using itunes two weeks ago and had no trouble. I tried to burn one last night and it kept giving me an error message saying: +Unknown error occurred (4450)+ and it spit my cd out. I have an hp system using windows xp. Does anyone have any suggestions for this? Why would it work and then all of a sudden not work.

I had this same problem and spoke to Apple Support and they helped me get rid of this error this is what I got from them and it definitely helped....follow these instructions.....

  • Concurrency Visualizer Extension (VS2013): "An unknown error occurred while trying to start the collection process."

Not sure if this is the right place to ask about this but since my question concerns an extension I'll give it a shot.
I'm trying to use the Visual Studio 2013 Concurrency Visualizer extension to debug a simple test console application. I've set executive paging to disabled in the registry as it directed and hit "add SDK to project" in the concurrency
visualizer menu options. And of course, restarted my computer to apply the settings. When I try to "start [the concurrency visualizer] with current project" I get an error popup:
"An unknown error occurred while trying to start the collection process."
I really need the concurrency profiling to start debugging contention in my multithreaded application. Prompt assistance would be much appreciated.

    Hi,
This forum is to discuss and ask questions about extending and integrating with Visual Studio (using the Extension Manager, building VSX containers for deployment, Visual Studio SDK, and more), Visual Studio Online (REST APIs, service hooks, and OAuth),
    and Team Foundation Server.
You have problems when using Concurrency Visualizer Extension, please ask in
the page under "Q AND A". Since Concurrency Visualizer is a diagnostic tool, you can post this issue in
Visual Studio Diagnostics (Debugger, Profiler, IntelliTrace) forum too.

    Greetings ayokunlefromlos angeles,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that when attempting to restore your iPhone you receive an error and your iPhone shows the Connect to iTunes screen. To begin troubleshooting, I would suggest manually placing your iPhone in recovery mode and attempting the restore. Please follow the instructions located in the attached article to complete this process.

  • Error 4450 when trying to burn a cd

Please help me to fix this issue. I have the latest version of iTunes, and my burner is working correctly, and I am using blank discs.
I purchased $20 of music and made a playlist to burn, it checks, initializes and begins burn, then alerts me that it is being cancelled and gives me this error "the attempt to burn a disc failed, unknown error 4450"
I have the preference set to audio cd, checked my burner and discs, it all works. I tried restarting computer. Logging off and back on to iTunes, updated iTunes, repaired iTunes, removed iTunes, installed older version 7.1 but then it couldn't read my library, so reinstalled 7.6 and still not able to burn
    Please help?!

OK, I feel like an idiot.
I tried all the suggestions, from lowering burn speed, running diagnostics, etc etc.
After contacting Apple and complaining about the service and inability to burn a CD of music I purchased, I finally opened my drive, and looked at the lens, it had a thin residue all over the entire lens and disc holding area, I simply wiped it off gently with a soft cloth, and voila!
    I can burn now!

  • Unknown Error (4200) when trying to burn from play list

I have burned about 4 disks with no problem from my playlist. Now after iTunes initializes, I get a response that burning will stop. When stopped I get the banner stating "attempt to burn failed" Unknown error (4200)

    Hi, Joshua.
I presume you are using the internal optical drive that shipped from the factory with your PowerBook G4.
    1. You wrote: "I am trying to clean up some space on my powerbook G4 (not that I need to) but I like to keep things tidy."Be careful not to "tidy up" anything outside of your Home folder or the Macintosh HD > Users > Shared folder. Your Home > Library folder is another folder that should not be altered unnecessarily.
"Tidying" System files can render your Mac inoperable unless you either:
    • Have a deep understanding of Mac OS X and the files in question.
    • Are instructed to remove such a file by someone with such understanding.
    2. You wrote: "Error Code 0x80020000)"This is an "Internal Disc Recording" error.
You may have selected too high a speed for the optical media or the optical drive, have bad media, or be using optical media that your optical drive cannot see correctly. Some new, high-speed media use dyes that are problematic with older Mac optical drives. See Macintosh: Factors That Affect Writing to or Reading From Optical Media. If you've not used this brand of media before, try a brand and speed of media that has worked in the past.
    Good luck!

  • Error 4450 when trying to burn audio cd....used to work fine with older version of ITunes....

Is Itunes not compatible with windows cd burner.....

I'm having the same problem using 700mb cd-r, but when I try to burn smaller size playlists (300mb) it works fine. I know that when burning as an audio cd the tracks about double in size, so this makes sense. However when I try to burn a playlist 400mb (ends up as 800mb on audio cd) itunes burns most of the songs but errors out on the last few. My guess is the cd runs out of room because itunes thinks it's a 800mb cd and tries to burn that much to it, when in reality it's only a 700mb cd. itunes will actually try to split a playlist that comes out to 1200mb across 2 cds, but still tries to burn 800mb per cd and errors once the cd runs out of room before it has 800mb on it. There needs to be some way to tell it the size of the cds, or at least an update where they fix the size detection. In the mean time it looks like we're stuck with manually splitting playlists so they're smaller than 350mb (if you have cds a different size than 700mb then just keep the playlist below half the cd's capacity).

I'm trying to move my songs from my laptop to my home computer. My computer keeps shutting down when I use my ipod as a hard drive. So I chose to backup library to discs. Which worked fine, (11 dvds). However when I put them into my home computer, itunes gives me and unknown error (-53). The dvd shows up in my D drive as Backup2009-04-24. But itunes does not restore it. Any suggestions on how to get the songs over? Connect computers over a LAN? Anything!

    Couple of suggestions...
    1) With the DVD in the drive, what happens when you choose File > Add To Library...? Are you able to add the individual files this way?
    2) Are you able to copy the individual files from the DVD-R backup to a new temporary folder on your desktop, and move these files into iTunes? What happens when you choose File > Add To Library... for this?

  • Error Message while trying to burn a DVD-R with my MacBook Pro: "The disc can't be burned, because the device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media.

While using my Mac OS X Version 10.6.8 to burn a DVD-R I keep getting the error message: "This disc can't be burned, because the device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media."
So, I tried the iDVD and got the same error message.
Can anyone out there help me? I've tried both a DVD - R, and a CD.
I made a short 2:20 minute presentation from iMovie and used the "share" to iDVD, then to iTunes, then I tried exporting it to Quicktime and saved it on my desk top. That is when I tried burning by opening the blank DVD-R in the finder then draging the movie on to it and selecting the burn option. Thank you for your time in helping me with this frustrating problem.
    Peace, Pyxidis

I have had that same problem, but it was unrelated to any upgrade.
In my case the optical drive was simply failing, and I replaced it - it was a Powerbook, about eight years old.
It is possible that it's unrelated to Lion, as unlikely as this may seem, since you've just upgraded.
Optical drives seem to be the most life-limited component in these computers. The laser just seems to get weak with age.
