  • Gets unknown error -124 when syncing the iPod

I get unknown error -124 when syncing my 80 gb iPod. I have had files which I could not copy to the iPod, so I removed them. So it's not that. And I have restored it back to its original settings before syncing now.
Any tips on how to resolve this?
    Thanks!

i am getting the same problem and the people at best buy could not even help me they it was my problem. and i bought two new hard drives and it still does it.

  • ITunes gives unknown error (-50) when syncing songs with iPhone

I recently ripped a few mp3 files to my library and started up iTunes to sync them with my iPhone. If I recall correctly, this prompted me to upgrade to 9.2 of iTunes.
Everything synced perfectly - apps, photos, excpet for the new songs I had ripped - I got the unknown error (-50) syncing the new songs. This puzzled me as I followed the exact same process as I had when ripping all the other songs in the library.
I then removed an existing song from my iPhone, and tried the sync again, and now THAT song also failed to sync. Thus - it sure does not look like a problem with my mp3 files, but some sort of problem with iTunes.
I found this article which was very similar, but ended up being only specific songs:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1539
I followed all the steps there, but have yet to achieve success. I have also followed every iTunes upgrade since I started - I am currently at 9.2.1.5.
I also have an iPod Touch, and it experiences the same symptoms, thus once again pointing to iTunes not the device. I even went through the process of restoring my Touch to factory settings, and that did not help. I even upgraded my Touch to 4.0, still no change. With this restore to factory settings, all the music on my Touch was wiped out, and unfortunately now NONE of my songs sync - which includes the almost 300 other songs that were synced perfectly fine before I did the restore.
After the restore - photos, videos, etc. all synced fine - it is just music that has this problem. I do not suspect my USB connection as a result (some of my videos are very large) I have over 10GB free on my 1 GB Touch, and much more than that on my 32 GB iPhone.
I am really stuck here - everything else is working but I can not get any new songs, and I am afraid of doing too much more in case I lose the songs I already have.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
    Brent.

I just wanted to add that I have updated to iTunes 10, and this problem still exists.

  • Unknown error -50 when syncing Ipod

Hi all, hope you can help. I have a Mac 10.4.11, and just got an 8 gb ipod touch yesterday. I am unable to sync my music and photos, I keep getting the following msg: "The Ipod Emy's Ipod cannot be synced. An unknown error occured (-50)."
For information I have reset the ipod and have the latest version of Itunes.
    Can someone help me please??
    Thanks
    Emy

It sounds like you might be experiencing the same problem I have been having:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/19207453#19207453
Can you pinpoint the time when you started having this problem?  I am wondering if Amazon has made some kind of change to their downloads that is causing a problem for the syncing process.

  • HT201413 unknown error (-50) when sync with itunes

When sync my iphone 5 with itunes i get an unknown error (-50) whats his and how do i fix it?????

I also have the same problems and get the same error message, amongst other things. The iPod (photo) has even been back for repair 3 times, but no fault was found. It worked fine since April but then all the problems I am getting started following the download of Apple's iTunes 'version 5' which has not been cured by then downloading number 6. The effect of this download on my other computer has been that iTunes itself will not open. Apparently caused, some say, by Norton thinking it is some sort of Virus??? (See the discussion forum on this problem and 'iTunes will not open in Windows', it is huge, but still no 'fix' from Apple!). I now have an empty iPod, and 2 computers with iTunes that will not do its job. Not impressed, my husband has ditched his iPod and has already bought a Sony, which he says is much, much better and much more stable. If this is not sorted out soon I will be doing the same.

  • Unknown Error (-27) When syncing

So, it seems almost every time I go to sync my iPad, when I first plug it in, it hangs for a while then iTunes comes up with a "Unknown Error (-27)" message.
If I clear that and manually click the Sync button, it then works.
    Any idea?

It's also been happening on my iPhone for the past few weeks.
I unplug and plug in again, and it syncs the second time.
It may have shown up with iTunes 9. The iTunes update last night (April 27) did not correct the problem.
Has anyone else had this problem or solved it?
    Thanks,
    Alan

  • ITunes (unknown error -54) when syncing music to iPhone 4s. Help!

I just got a 64 GB iPhone 4s and I'm having trouble syncing my music library. A few artist into syncing and get an error message saying a certain song could not sync (unknown error -54). Then the rest of my library does not sync to my iPhone. I deleted all the songs that made it into my iPhone and I tried syncing my library again. I got the same unknown error -54 message again but it's another song that won't sync. The funny thing is that the previous song that wouldn't sync made it into my iPhone. Because of that I think it's an iTunes problem and not the file. Please help! Very frustrating!

I stopped using iCloud and started to sync everything to my MacBook Pro. I had also done a restore just to make sure it was being ungunked. Everything works perfectly now. I'm back to using my laptop iTunes for backing up my iPhone 4S

  • Unknown Error (-48) when syncing ipod nano in Itunes

I got a new ipod nano chromatic and have had it about 5 months. Then today i plug it in and the battery was pretty low -it kept saying that it cant sync and that it has experienced an unknown error (-48).
*** is this and how can I fix it. I have charged the ipod up, so surely it isnt the battery.
    Help!

Have you tried restoring your iPod? Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists uncheck the box beside the sync automatically instruction and press Done, it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes

  • Unknown Error 13019 when syncing Iphone 4 with Itunes

Hello. I used to have absolutely no problem syncing podcasts/music/videos with my phone. Then one day, my friend came over with his ipod and synced with my library and now it no longer allows me to change those 3 things. It will backup my phone just fine as well as allow me to update my ringtones and update my apps, but I always get that unknown error 13019 right before it finishes syncing and it won't update my library with any changes to music/podcasts/movies.
I've tried reinstalling and that doesn't fix it. Any help would be fine. Also, the media I had on my phone prior to my friend syncing his ipod stays on my phone to this day, I just can't add to it or change it in anyway.
    Thanks in advance

  • Unknown error -48 when syncing ipod

when i first plug in my ipod an error shows up -128.Then when I sync it an error -48 shows i need help

Thanks for the tip - I may try it, as one of the many 48ers...
For what it's worth, here's my story: I have two 80G Video iPods, one with the problem and one (so far, touch wood, please don't let me tempt fate) ok. I only have 1 mac, 1 account, i.e. the same sytem for both of them.
    Differences are:
One is black, the other white. I don't think that is the problem, but for the logically different it's the black one that works!
I got one for my birthday, the other for Christmas. The answer to the obvious question is, September 18th and yes I like chocolates. But I think there is a clue here.
The one I got in September, as soon as they were announced, took over a week to arrive as it found its way from the Far East to England. The second one arrived a day later, having come from the Midlands (England).
And guess what, the one from the UK is the one that is having trouble. I can tell there are other problems from the sheer volume of posts I have waded through, but there is definitely something wrong with some of the regional settings handling/builds. Regardless of duplicates, smart lists etc. Apple needs to look seriously at this now.
Sadly I wouldn't advise anyone to get one right now, which is a shame as they are great. Like everyone else I am stunned by how long this has gone on. So thanks for your tip, mate, I will probably give it a go as synching up 50G of music and video each time is a pain!
Come on Apple, sort it out!

Hey Folks having some massive problems with my new ipod. A couple days ago the ipod froze when i was on the bus, after that every time i hooked my ipod into my mac i got the error -208 can not sync ipod. The thing is the ipod was updating.
While trying to Trouble shot this i did the restore ipod with itunes 7.0.2, and guess what i am still getting the error. Even more annoying since i restored i can no longer sync my contacts and calendar. when i check the sync contacts box it tells me i have no contacts.
I have looked through the different solutions in the forums and none of them have worked for me.
    Any Help much appreciated.

Thanks Kylene that solved the error message and the photo's not updating. For some Reason it even solved the calender's syncing problem.
I am still having the problem of itunes not liking my contacts though. Every time i try to check the sync contacts i keep getting that my address book has no contacts.
I have deleted the application support files, as some one suggestd in another thread, and that didn't work.
But at least 2/3 of the problems are solved.
