Receiving 'Unknown Error (-609)' when trying to download album artwork.
Hey all. The subject line says it all. When importing tracks from CD or other sources into iTunes, I get Unknown Error (-609) every time. My connection works, and I've only had this problem since updating to the latest version. The last time I had this issue, I updated and everything was fine but I can't update to a later version now.
Does anyone know how to get rid of this issue? And before it gets suggested, I know full well I can use my internet browser to get artwork and copy/paste it that way. But as I'm in the middle of a stack of roughly 40 discs that I'm uploading, I have no desire to search out all of those album covers if it can be avoided.

Can anyone help a newbie with "An unknown error (-609)" message?
I just bought my first iPod a week ago and so far, I haven't had any problems with iTunes. But today, I can't get any artwork for CD's I'm importing because of "An unknown error (-609)." I checked, and my iTunes is up to date. Is there anything I can do about this or is this the kind of problem that will come and go on its own?
No. I bought it online. Still can't restore. Pls help me. Thanks!

Itunes 10.2.2 - unknown error -609
- every time I rip a CD, it will not process the artwork, giving an unknown error occured -609. I cannot find this error code anywhere here! This error pops after the CD is ripped and doesn't process any further. Help!
I am the administrator, so this can't be a rights problem. The error message says "error writing to file c:\program files\apple software update\softwareupdate.exe. Verify that you have access to that directory".
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive, as per the following document:
How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards? -
Unknown Error (-609) when attempting to download album art
Help! I am attempting to download album art for all my MP3's that I ripped from EAC (and got the ID3 info from freedb). When I try to download the album art in iTunes, I get "Unknown Error occurred (-609)" for all my albums.
Why is the happening? Anyone have any clues? I'm on Vista 32 bit with latest version of itunes.I was able to fix this problem
I used the diagnostic feature in the help menu, turned out itunes wasn't connecting to the internet.
I inputted some proxy settings given to me by my ISP and walah

Can't get album artwork - error 609
I'm using MBP and iTunes 10.3.1.
When importing from a CD, I got the track details but not the album artwork. On requesting through menu Advanced I get "Unknown error -609".
However, the same CD on Windows+RealPlayer can get all album and track info.
Any ideas to get the album artwork on MBP+iTunes?
ThanksBtw, I desabled the firewall and it still can't get the artwork.
The CD is "Queen - A Night At The Opera". -
Itunes error (-609) when attempting to download artwork
I'm receiving the following message when attempting to download album artwork:
Artwork for XXXXXX could not be found. An unknown error occurred (-609)
MY first thought was that it was due to the artwork being unavailable, but i deleted the artwork for an album which i had previously downloaded. When i tried to re-download the artword, same problem. I can download track information, though.
This has occurred since updating to itunes 8.0.1.11
using 64 bit Vista. Never had this problem before...I installed V8.2.0.23 created a new library. Added one album. Clicked on Get Album Artwork. Got unknown error (-609). Spent hours trauling the web to find a solution. Logging into iTunes store and signing out and restarting iTunes and the PC did NOT fix the problem.
Then I installed V6.2.1.6 only to find I still get the same problem.
Interestingly, if I run the diagnostics from the Help menu it tells me Internet Connection Failed. (which is bollox - because I have been browsing the web for hours to try and find a solution) But I wonder if it is linked.
I can't beleive how naff iTunes is.
Does anyone have a solution that actually works?

What does error (-609) mean?
Hi,
When I try to download the front cover of the CDs that I have imported, I get a message informing me that the CD cannot be found and that an unknown error (-609) has been produced. What does this error mean? How can download the CD?

I've installed both 7.5 and 7.6 and with either version for some reason I can no longer get the album artwork to any of my albums, when trying to get them the following message appears: Artwork for ..... could not be found. An unknown error occurred (-609). Any help how I can get the album artwork for my albums would be very much appreciated.

When all my songs were transfered to iTunes half of my songs have '!' to the left of them in a black circle. Is there anyway to delete them all at once or do I have to go through every second song and hit delete?
Try iTLU - iTunes Library Updater which if set up properly can remove all missing tracks from the library and add all new unlisted tracks from your media folders into the library. Running time seems to grow expoentially with the size of the libray - 34,000 drags, but 5,000 shouldn't be too bad.

Where can I put an 'index.html' or 'index.jsp' page so that I can have a page show up when users go to the root of our server? That is, I want: http://<mysite>:<port> to take the user to a page on my site, rather than presenting an error message.

Hi All, Can anyone tell me if it is possible to convert through a standard SAP Program, planned orders (MRP) into a material reservation? Like MD15 converts into Purchase requisitions! Thanks in advance, MG
