? - unknown error (9) after updating and restoring
Please, HELP!
After downloading iPhone update 1.1.1 for iTunes and installing it iTunes is telling me that I'm required to click 'restore' and then it gives me the message:
The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9).
I've tryed almost everything but it doesn't work. Please, help me!!!
If you have made sure that both the iTunes and iPod software are current and have deauthorized and reauthorized your computer, try this test:
1. Deauthorize the computer.
2. Create a new user in the system.
3. Download the free song of the week from the iTMS in the new user account.
4. Play the song in that user account to authorize again.
5. Restore the iPod (using the iPod updater) in the new user account.
6. Sync just the free song of the week and see if it plays on the iPod.
If it does, you appear to have a corrupted iTunes library file, and you should recreate the iTunes library file in your normal user account, and then sync your music back to the iPod and all should be well.

One of my kids ipods needed an update. It wouldn't let me do it via the itouch (like the other 2 itouches did). I had to connect to the PC, sync, update and then restore. Once I did, the apps could be downloaded again via icloud (which wasn't on the itouch before) but progress on games that were through Gamecenter did not transfer. Tried logging into Gamecenter and it states the user name is already taken. Yeah, I know it's already taken, BY MY DAUGHTER!!! Apparently she has a dragon game app that she manages through Gamecenter that she has worked her way to level 22 and now it is all gone. It wants her to restart from level 1. I know this isn't life or death and not like losing work data etc. But to a 9 year old who has spent $40 of her own money on gems, coins etc....... this is the end of the world. LOL. I do want to try to help her, I just don't know how.

after updating to ios5 from ios4.3.3 , i could not activate because i am using Gavey sim with NTC( nepal telecom sim), now it asks for the original sim, which is not available in NEPAL, what to do? how can i activate Iphone4?
how old is the phone? was this the first time you are putting your sim in the iphone? if it is it might be locked to a previous carrier...if not, try to do a restore again and see if it picks up the sim card after. do the restore while the sim card is intact, and then not intact. otherwise, you'll might have to take it to an apple store to get it looked at.

After updating and restoring some purchased music is "unauthorized"
I downloaded an update for my Ipod and then was forced to restore my Ipod when it was not recognized by Itunes. After the restoration process I find a few purchased albums come up as not being authorized to play. I go through the process of reauthorization but it does no good. Why would some music no longer be authorized? so far it seems to be that which I had copied to a CD but I have not checked all.

My 4G iPod model no is A1367 and the software version is 4.2.1, so as it’s a very old version i wanted to update the software to iOS 6.1.6, so I have taken backup, then Update my device with iOS 6.1.6 after that I tried to restore my device, it started to downloaded (847.8 mb) iOS 6.1.6 again and again and iPod screen showing only USB cable to be connect to iTunes. please tell me how should i resolve it.

Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.

Stuck at the "apple screen" after update and restore
I updated my iPhone 4 today to the iOS 7 version, everything went ok, after that i did the "Restore from Backup" option through iTunes, and all went fine.
After it finished the restore the iPhone made a restart, then turned on the apple screen, and after a few seconds apeard a line beneth the apple, it started to fill it in, and when it got to ~70-80% it stucked, for ~30 min already.....
I'v tried to restart the device, and its making the same thing, tried to connect to iTunes and make restore again, and it fails because the iPone is "Busy" with god knows what.....
Any solution for this problem????

ITunes won't start after update and restore
I have update iTunes to the latest version yesterday. Up to her everything is fine. Due to ther issues I had to go back to the Windows RESTORE point previous to the iTune installation.
When I start iTunes I get the following pop-up: "iTunes cannot runbecause some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes".
I do that and when iTunes try to connect to the store it shows broken links and the whole thing hangs.
I have tried to unistall iTunes, but it does not help at all. This means that I do not have connection to iPod. I cannot believe that I have to re-install all my PC bcause of thisI have update iTunes to the latest version yesterday.

I have discovered that QuickTime is corrupted. I cannot unistall it and if I try to re-install it nothing happens.

HELP?? After restore and backup of my iPhone 5, there are a couple of apps requiring someone else's iTunes login criadentials. Tried to delete apps from other person off of my phone w/o any luck. I have NO idea who's iTunes library this is. Please help!?!

White screen after update and restore?
Is this a hardware issue or anything else I can try to do with the Ipod Touch gen 4? I'm running software 4.3.5.
- First try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Connect to computer and it ITunes sees the iPod restore the iPod
- Next see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPOd. For recovery mode see:

i tried reseting my ipod today and had a similar problem... it wont be recognized by itunes, the only thing i havent tried is putting it into DFU mode, or the state that it is in when u recieve it telling u to connect it to itunes.i recommend putting it into DFU mode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34v8HMC9B98 this should better explain it. if i find another way, ill keep u updated

Mildly amusing that the instructions for force-closing a program are the IOS 6 instructions, which do not work on IOS 7.
Otherwise I'm having a little success with this. Some apps (not all) are updating. It seems that a few more apps update each time I go through the process (close everything, sign out, and either reset or reboot, then go to the app store, sign in and try to update all). So far it has been a very lengthy, iterative process. -
