Unknown error : "cancel or search" ???

Hi,
I have 3 mac, 1 cluster + services, 2 services only.
when i submit a job from the cluster, i got a pblm when encoding audio files (encoding using settings : DVD 90 min 16:9 Best Quality) : an empty dialog box appears with no tittle and no subject with 2 buttons : Cancel or Search ....
I guess it's a comrpessor error because when i kill the command /Library/Frameworks/Compressor.framework/Resources/compressorTranscoderX.bundle /Contents/MacOS etc. this dialog box disappears ...
As a result, my encoding task cannot complete ...
any idea what's going on ?
tx

My guess would be that you have a QuickTime reference movie that can no longer locate its original master. Under some situations I've even seen this happen when I move the original, or rename some files. However, the most likely cause is that the original has been deleted or moved to a location (disk or network) that is no longer available. At least that's my guess (could definitely be wrong).

    The answer is Yes, and you are correct about the best practice of a limit of 100GB,
    although, document and record centers (e.g. non collaborative) can go much higher.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262787(v=office.15).aspx#ContentDB
    That being what it is, your sites will perform better if you find a topology that allows the content databases to be under 100GB each.  You can use Move-SPSite to accomplish that feat.
    You'll want a separate instance for 2010 and a separate instance for 2013
    and finally, put some quota's in place and then governance document\statement that informs users that 100 GB is the max for any given site collection that uses collaborative features (calendars, lists, workflows, etc.)
    The simple path is explained on technet, go from 2007 to 2010 (you can inplace upgrade if you want) then go from 2010 to 2013, database detach and attach is only way.
    please check the below link that explains more about the migration from share point 2007->2013.

  • IPhone 6, Unknown Error 56, RED iTunes logo, stuck in recovery mode, won't restore, ios 8 - 8.0.2 update fail!

    Hi
    I just got my new iphone 6 and it was on ios 8 and everything was working fine i guess, i decided to download ios 8.0.2 as it was a brand new phone and i wanted the newest software on it to fix all the bugs just incase i had them.
    i started the update process from the phone, and before the update was complete, i'd say 80% or so along the way, the phone goes into recovery mode displaying a red itunes logo and the cable on the screen.i tried all the suggestions out there and even googled and youtubed to try and find a solution with no luck. even did a few searches on this forum as this is the place i usually come to get most of my answers.
    here is what i did in attempts to fix this.
    tryed restoring through itunes on both recovery mode and DFU mode, with both ios 8.0 and ios 8.0.2 files.
    let itunes re-download the update file just incase i had gotten a bad copy the first time around, tried with that
    used 3 different computers, 2 macs and 1 pc
    switched usb ports
    unplugged all other usb devices
    updated itunes and OS
    always kept getting the mysterious "unknown error 56" msg searched all over for what that could mean with no luck. the process always seems to stop at the same place, and the second i unplug the phone, it jumps right back into recovery mode with the red itunes logo. if i were in a place that had a genious bar i would've gone there.
    i need help fixing this problem please also i'd like to report this error to apple, really wanna do my part to help by reporting at the very least, so also if someone could tell me how to go about doing that, this is just sooo frustrating
    any help would be greatly appreciated.
    MM.

  • Unknown Error when trying to cancel subscription

    Apple iTunes will not allow me to sign into my account to cancel a subscription.  I continue to get a message that "an unknown error has occurred (-50)".  How can I cancel?

    Had the same issue and found this information.  Just tested and it worked for me. Hopfully helps some else also!
    Answer: Change your DNS setting in the iPhone/iPad Wi-Fi settings.
    That worked for me. My original DNS settings were assigned by my WIFI router a. I removed these and placed in: 208.67.222.222 (Open DNS server IP)
    To make this adjustment go to Wi-Fi, locate your selected Wi-Fi network and click the blue arrow beside it to being up advanced settings, click in the DNS area to change it.

  • Cannot update my iPad2 to 5.1 An unknown error message cancels the download process. Could you please inform me how to fix this issue? Thanks!

    Cannot update my jail broken iPad2 & iPhone 4S to 5.1
    An unknown error message cancels the download process. Could you please inform me how to fix this issue? What is also odd is the fact that the update through iTunes is substantially bigger than downloading it directly OTA, although both methods have been unsuccessful so far...
    Thanks!

    About the only thing you can try is using the Online Internet Recovery system to reinstall Lion on your Mac over the top of the current install. that will reset all system files and should not touch your personal files or the apps you have installed.
    Or iof you have a recent Time Machine backup use that to restore your Mac to that point in time.

  • Unknown server error when accessing Search api via REST

    When trying to access the SharePoint search service via REST, I always get an internal server error with no information about the cause of the problem.
    My SharePoint app uses app-only permissions, and includes search permissions as follows:
      <AppPermissionRequests AllowAppOnlyPolicy="true">
        <AppPermissionRequest Scope="http://sharepoint/content/tenant" Right="Write" />
        <AppPermissionRequest Scope="http://sharepoint/social/tenant" Right="Read" />
        <AppPermissionRequest Scope="http://sharepoint/search" Right="QueryAsUserIgnoreAppPrincipal" />
      </AppPermissionRequests>
    I see the search permission listed when installing the app.
    I know I'm getting a valid bearer token, because all of my other requests work fine. Here is the request I'm making that returns the error:
    REQUEST:
    $ curl -H "Authorization:Bearer abcABC...f1-iYrm-efhQ" https://<domain-my>.sharepoint.com/_api/search/query
    where <domain-my> is the SharePoint site that I'm accessing. I've also tried this request with all combinations of headers, including Accept, Content-Type, odata, and even including the request digest. I've also tried adding query parameters, and using
    POST with the query in the message body. However, this is always the response I receive:
    RESPONSE:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><m:error xmlns:m="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/08/dataservices/metadata"><m:code>-1, Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.REST.SearchServiceException</m:code><m:message
    xml:lang="en-US">An unknown error occurred.</m:message></m:error>
    If I log in to SharePoint I can make a get request to /_api/search/query and it returns a non-error response. What is causing the problem with my REST request? Is there any way to get more information from the server? This is SharePoint online, so I don't have
    access to the server.
    Thanks!

    When using search you must have a user context, it cannot be used with an app only policy. This feature has been submitted to Office User Voice. You can vote for it here:

  • Office365: search content webpart shows "unknown error" when I click "change query"

    Hi all,
    I am having an office365 tenant with some SharePoint sites on them. I wanted to add a "content search" webpart, but it wasn't in the list. So I learned on some site that I had to turn off/on Enterprise features. After that, the webpart appeared
    in the list.
    But..
    Everywhere I add the webpart, when I edit it and want to change the query, the pop-up opens and gives me "an unknown error occured".
    Any ideas ?
    http://www.balestra.be || @marijnsomers

    Hi Marijn,
    Are you saying you have activated the Cross-Site Collection Feature Publishing in your Office 365 tenant, and you see the Content Search Web Part when you are adding a web part, you
    can add it to a web part zone without issue. However, as soon as you click on the right triangle in the top right corner and choose Edit Web Part you get a pop up error with the error?
    Is there a correlation ID or anything on the error? Have you tried using the PowerShell cmdlets for Office 365 to pull errors or anything?

    i have burned music before now all of a sudden this error message comes up about not being able to burn the disk with an unknown error the only thing i can think of is that the other day i made a back up of my library that i know is the only thing that changed

    could you post your DVD/CD diagnostics, please?
    in itunes, go "help > run diagnostics", select DVD/CD diagnostics and paste the complete results into a reply.

  • TS1436 I cannot burn a CD, it cancels and gives me a message saying unknown error 4310.

    Everytime I try to burn a CD it gives me a message saying unknown error 4310, this has just started happening. I have burned several CD's fairly recently on the same type of disks and it worked fine. So my question is, what is going on and how do I fix it?

    Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
    In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
    When you get through to the final screen:
    ... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here.

  • ITunes won't connect to iTunes Store with my Apple ID and repeatedly crashes with "An unknown error occurred (-50)."

    I've been unable to use iTunes for over 3 weeks now.
    Initially, it would prompt me to Sign In with my Apple ID and password each time it tried to start, and when I clicked Sign In, it'd respond with variations of:
        "Your device or computer could not be verified. Contact support for assistance."
        or
        De-authorize/Authorize.
    Frustrated, I'd click Cancel, and it'd crash with:
        "An unknown error occurred (-1008)."
        or
        "An unknown error occurred (-50)."
    More recently, I don't even get the Sign In prompt any more. iTunes now just crashes immediately with unknown error (-50) as soon as it tries to start.
    It is clear that this issue has more to do with the Apple ID than with iTunes specifically, because some of the apps I purchased directly from the App Store (OmniFocus, Fantastical and Forismatic) now prompt me to Sign In with my Apple ID and password each time they try to start, and they never did before. And when I try to sign, they respond with the error:
         "Your device or computer could not be verified. Contact support for assistance."
    Apparently, this is an issue a whole lot of people are experiencing, judging by the long list of Google search returns on the subject; but I'm yet to find a definitive, "official" Apple solution to the problem.
    My Apple ID is the same as it's always been.
    If anyone knows what's really causing this and/or can offer a fix, please H-E-E-E-L-P? I'll even pay to make it go away. I abandoned Windows after 26 years, only to discover that no platform is spared the blackhole of unknown errors.
