"Unknown Error has Occured" on any save attempt

I've been fighting this problem for some time. Now, both Illustrator installations (on HP laptop w/XP sp2 and Dell laptop with Vista SP1) are doing it.
Today I just learned about the Zune/Illustrator incompatibility. I stopped Zune and all Zune services and still have the problem.
I have repeatedly deleted all the AppData files, again to no avail.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Douglas

Douglas,
Have you tried moving the folder?

Does it happen with documents without type/text?
Which version?

  • Hyperion IR--"An Unknown Error Has Occurred"

    Hello,
I am attempting to pull data from a Teradata table using Hyperion IR. Unfortunately, whenever I try to select the table, I receive the message, "An unknown error has occurred. Please save your document and restart your application."
This table contains a field with the data type byte, which I believe is the issue. I have created a replica of this table that no longer contains the field with the byte data type and I'm able to query that table in IR.
I am working with Oracle and hope that they can provide me with a patch or some other sort of fix. However, any input or suggestions regarding this issue would be sincerely appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
    ZD

Thanks for the input. If I understand you correctly, I believe that we have already attempted what you've suggested. We have recreated this table one field at a time, attempting to query the table after each field is added. Only when we create a field with the byte data type do we receive this message, regardless of whether the byte column is populated or not. Therefore, we're nearly certain that the byte field causes the problem, so I am now wondering whether there is any solution to this problem.
However, you did mention that we should add the fields one at a time. Do you mean that we should add them one at a time in the IR query? As far as I understand, users first must drag the table into the query builder window in IR prior to filtering out certain fields. Unfortunately, we receive the error message when attempting to drag and drop the table into the GUI query builder.

  • Interactive Reporting An Unknown error has occured

I have a number of users that keep getting the following message:
"An unknown error has occurred. Please save your document and restart your application."
This error appears several times in Interactive Reporting. It happens when you are trying to copy and paste formulas into a spreadsheet. Also, the error has occurred when adding or changing a filter, removing a column, processing a query, changing column orders, copying and pasting from one window to another, removing a column, etc.
Any ideas on why we are getting this error.
    Thanks

We have the same problem after applying the service fix. When we rolled back to the pre-service fix web client, we were unable to reproduce this issue so it seems the new web client is flawed.
Are you on red hat linux too?
We asked a couple of other implementations but they did not see this issue after adding the service fix.
The related dbgprint entry we see is:
    Failure in removal of file:C:\DOCUME~1\ij24\LOCALS~1\Temp\ODSC6.tmp.
    Error: [13] <path specifies a read-only file>
Exception thrown in v1_bi_code\bq\query\qryom.cpp, line 375: Error during Process

  • 'an unknown error has occurred' CS3

I keep getting the error message, 'an unknown error has occurred' trying to save files in illustrator cs3. I've read some forums and they seem to say that Zune has something to do with the error message. I do not have Zune installed on my computer. Does anyone know what causes this error message and how to fix it?
    Please help!!

That is quite a general error, more than Zune can cause that. Do you get a -108. What platform are you on?

  • When trying to use App Store I get a message "could not sign in an unknown error has occurred." I reset our connection and turned off iPad. Any suggestions?

When trying to use the App Store, I get a message "could not sign in, an unknown error has occurred,  any suggestions what is wrong?  I reset our Internet and turned off the iPad.

Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.

  • Getting "An unknown error has occurred" when trying to save a new contact

    Scenario:
Using Outlook 2003 and Oracle Connector for Outlook 10.1.2_03 against an OCS 9 installation.
When I make a new contact and try to save it I get an error message in a popup window (with the title "Microsoft Office Outlook") with the text "An unknown error has occurred.".
    Anybody seen this?
    How can I troubleshoot this?

The first thing to do would be to set up logging through Connector. Under the Help menu, select "Outlook Connector Troubleshooting..." and the dialog has a few logging options. The section that might be of interest here is Calendar, since that is where your contacts are stored.
Other than that, try recreating your user's Outlook profile to see if that fixes the problem.
