Unknown Error message appearing when editing Nikon D810 files on Lr 4
Hi Guys,
Recently bought a Nikon D810 and whenever I import files and have a play around with them Lightroom will freeze and then come up with the Unknown Error message. Just wondering if anybody else has encountered this and if so, what you have done to rectify it?
Thanks in advance,
Pete
Then they must be using Lightroom 5. According to the list of supported cameras, support for the D 810 was added in Lightroom 5.6. I seriously doubt that any of your friends are actually using it in Lightroom 4 Unless they are using software to change the camera model in the exif data.

An unknown error message appears when I try to update an app from the app store
Beginning about a week ago, I get the message "an unknown error occurred" when I try to update an app from the app store on my iPhone 4s. The same update works fine on my iPad 2. Resetting does not solve the problem.
try updating on your PC with itunes, then sync your phone to your pc.

I just upgraded my mac book to 10.6.8 and downloaded the new version of itunes. When I try to open it and error message appears saying, "The iTunes Library file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder in the "Music" folder."
I have tried a few things but iTunes closes right after i click okay. Anyone know anything?Look in your Home > Music folder. There should be an iTunes folder there and it should have a number of files and folders including one called library.itl You want to guide iTunes to that file. If you don't see that file or folder then in your next post you will have to be very specific as to what you do see or how you have your iTunes set up because that's where it should be according to default settings.

why does an unknown error (-42110) appear when i try to play a rental movie that has downloaded already?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore) -
I just started getting the error message below, when I drag a file to TRASH, I get the message "Finder wants to make changes. Type in your password to allow this." Why ? and how to to stop this request ?
There should be nothing native to the OS X which would ask for a password
or other information on a restart, unless accompanied by the traditional login
box with your user name.
There are adware or marginal products that could be called malware (bad)
that would impose their presence and some items that could have been
downloaded by accident or through some corrupted free software site; of
those some could ask for and gain permission to go through your Mac
and maybe even run in the background to do other nefarious misdeeds.
You could see if startup in SafeBoot allows you access past that the Completer.
Since I don't have a pile of helpful article links on how to resolve various issues
I'd be looking them up one way or another.
There are some helpful items in the site http://thesafemac.com - see Tech Guides
listed (adware, malware, & performance) plus a link to the adwaremedic page.
Also, Apple support has a helpful page on how to remove adware and other bits:
•Remove unwanted adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac - Apple Support
Hopefully this helps somewhat.

Error message appears when selecting emailed link but there's no problem
I upgraded to Firefox 7.0.1. Now, when I select an emailed link to a website, I always receive a General Failure error message indicating that Firefox can't reach the website. In the meantime, the thin red-light progress line appears and the website comes up fine. Thee error message appears consistently but there's rarely a problem reaching a website. Any suggestions on how to eliminate the error message?
I'm responding to my own post. I checked the error messages more carefully and found that they are Microsoft Outlook generated and not Firefox. This could still be a Firefox problem but I thought I should point this out.

Error message appear when I compile the HelloWorldImp.c in JNI tutorial
I have followed the JNI tutorial to study JNI.
When I followed 'Step 5: Create a Shared Library' to compile the HelloWorldImp.c, following error message appears:
$gcc -g -I/usr/local/java/include -I/usr/local/java/include/solaris \
HelloWorldImp.c -o libhello.so
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.96/../../../crt1.o: In function `_start':
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.96/../../../crt1.o(.text+0x18):undefined reference to `main'
collect2: ld return 1 exit status
What's the problem?gcc was trying to link your code into a runnable application. This is the default behaviour. Hence, it was looking for main() which is the entry point in a c/c++ application. By telling gcc to compile a shared library instead, with the -shared option, the linker did not try to produce a runnable program, and hence (that two hence's now, sorry) did not look for the main() function. Therefore (this is getting too formal!), there is no need to provide a main() function in a shared library.

Unknown Error Message (9) When trying to restore Ipad 1
Hi, recently i purchased an iPad 1, and am having problems when trying to restore the device. I put it into restore mode as it was going to sync every app on itunes which i didn't want, so i had to try and set it up as a new ipad again. Now the ipad is in restore mode, when plugged in to my laptop, iTunes does not recognise the iPad until i put it into DFU mode, by holding down the home button and Power button simultaneously, then releasing the power button until the 'connect to itunes' symbols appears. iTunes then recognises the iPad in restore mode and asks me to restore it. When i click to restore, it always stalls just after the 'waiting for iPad' message appears on iTunes, then the error 'Could not restore Ipad, an unknown error occurred (9)' appears.
I have tried downgrading my firmware and restoring my iPad to v3.2 but then the error 3194 appears. Also by trying to restore the firmware to the newest version using a downloaded firmware also returns this message. After some research on the matter, i read a few people claiming the problem is the USB ports. I have since tried restoring on another laptop and a PC, but still the error 9 message occurres, therefore suggesting it isn't a problem with the USB. My understanding it that it is either a problem with the iPad, or with the Firmware i have downloaded, and iTunes does not recognise this. As further information, the iPad is a first generation ipad which had the latest firmware updated on (v 5.2). It seems to be whenever i try to restore to a firmware i downloaded seperately, i get the error message 3194, and when i just click the restore button, and automatically updating to v5.2 i receive the error 9 message
Any suggestions as to how i can fix this problem?
Thanksi pulled this from another post on these forums.
thy this:
"First try to turn off your iPhone, with the sync cable not plugged in.
Then hold down the home button (iPhone still off) and plug in the sync cable. (Keep holding the home button until iTunes pops up).
You have now entered force recovery mode.
Now try to update the iPhone, using iTunes, as instructed.
That should work. "

HT204406 Unknown error message 4001 when I try to complete 1st step of starting iTunes match
I just signed up for iTunes Match. It was completing the first step, "gathering information about your iTunes library." When it gets to the point of sending information to Apple about my iTunes library, it seems to be sending the information, taking as long as 40 minutes on the last try, but then I keep getting an error message that stops the process: "We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occurred 4002. There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later." This has now happened four times, with a lengthy stretch when it appears to be sending information to apple and then this error message. Three times it was unknown error 4001 and this last time it was 4002. What's happening and how can I get it to complete the sending of the information to Apple?
Yesterday I went to settings in my iPhone, Music, turned iTunes Match to "Off". I then updated Match in iTunes and it worked! I don't know why, but it worked.
