Unknown error occurred, trying to download any app on my iPad. iPhone works fine tho?

This is driving me distraction now, any help is welcomed.
I've tried
Shutting the app store down
Powering off the iPad 2
I did update to iOS 5.1 yesterday?

Try signing out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap the ID and then sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in. See if that helps.

    Error -50 is a very unhelpful generic communications error with a number of possible causes.  Something between the drive to which you are downloading and the drive from which it is all coming is not working correctly, which probably leaves several hundred options.

    If you can you can choose the None option and only put the card info in when you want to buy something. It also makes your account less suceptable to hackers as there is nothing that they can use to buy anything.

    I couldn't download any app into my iPAD. Puzzled by this strange condition, I tried downloading the same chosen app into my iPhone. It worked!
    I use the same Apple ID for both my iPAD and iPhone. So why is it not working for my iPad? Previously, both devices were working fine!

    Do the apps show as installed on the Purchased tab in the App Store app ? If they show as installed, then have you got any restrictions set on Settings > General > Restrictions (e.g. Allowed Content > Apps) that might be hiding them ?
    You could try closing the App Store app completely and then seeing if it downloads after you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e.not with the App Store app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the App Store app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    You could also try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
    And try logging out, and then back in, with your iTunes account : Settings > Store

    Is anyone else having this problem when trying to log into the app store or hitting the "install button" of the app and trying to log in?  Is there anyway to fix it?? I haven't been able to download any apps on this macbook pro.

    Also, I am able to log into itunes just fine.  It is only when trying to log in the app store that I seem to be unable to proceed any further than typing my password.  All the input information is correct.

    When I try to update the software from Itunes. It asks me about updating and when I select. I get " There is a problem downloading the iPod software for the IPod "Joe's Ipod". An unknown error occurred (-23). I tried to reset the IPOD and got the same error. The ITunes diagnostics said the IPOD is OK. My pod casts and such are sycning OK.

    Not there aren't any special settings for this. You just use the Open In feature to save the document into Pages. You could have a font in the document that Pages doesn't like, maybe something that you copied and pasted from somewhere into the document that went corrupt. But there is nothing special about the way that you save a Word document into Pages. You save it like you save any document or file into a compatible app.

    Every time I try to download an App from the Mac App Store I obtain a message that says that it has ocurred and error with the apple store (Error 100).
    After that, i obtain a second message that says "Tour Apple ID has been deactivated".
    I can not download any app to my new MacBook Air.

    I found that this error occurred when trying to purchase Aperture via the new App Store. I had previously downloaded the trial version via the old Apple store and having it and its installed folders on my hard disk prevented the App store from letting me purchase.
    So, if you have a trial version, trash it, and trash the related folders in your user Library and also the Aperture project folder (wherever you saved it), typically in the Pictures folder.
    Then try to purchase. Voila!

    I have a Droid phone and have recently started receiving the following error message when trying to download an app (free).  Authentication is required.  You need to sign into your Google account.  It gives you an OK button, but nothing else to help.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    When your account becomes disabled, Apple provides the following recommendation:
    "This message means that someone tried and failed to sign in to your account multiple times. The Apple ID system disables the account to prevent unauthorized people from gaining access to your information. You need to reset your password, following the instructions at the Apple ID website".
    Visit iForgot.com and follow the instructions there.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
    Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)
    If that doesn't help you might try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support
