  • Re-install Lion, reinstall 10.6.8 combo, error running Mac App Store

I need to re-download and install Lion. To do so I need to get to the App Store.
To get to the App Store I need the App Store installer for Mac OS X 10.6.8, the
    latest Snow Leopard.
I cannot go to the Mac App Store because the App Store program I have is for
Lion, not Snow Leopard. I moved the Lion App Store application out of the
Applications folder and deleted it and ran Software Update, SU says I'm up
to date. So I download the OS X 10.6.8 Combo update.
I try to run that Mac App Store application and got a memory dump looking
dialog that says I had an unknown error and it may be because the version of the Mac App Store
I tried to run is for the wrong version of OSX. This  the error I got when I ran the Lion version
of the Mac App Store application resulting in my deleting it back before I installed the Combo update for 10.6.8.
Perhaps I missed deleting another component still hanging around from Lion?
Any ideas of what to try next?

I was on the delevoper's list for LIon and have now had to put a new hard drive in and want to reinstall Lion on my new hard drive but when I go to App store and sign in, under purchases it says I have not purchased anything.
Any ideas as to how to get back to Lion?

  • Bioshock download error from mac app store

I purchased bioshock  on the mac app store on my macbook air 13 inch 2013 model, and the download got interrupted because my macbook put itself to sleep while i was gone, now it wont let me complete the download, when i press install, it just says error bioshock failed to download, anyone help?

    Back up all data.
From the App Store menu bar, select
Store ▹ Check for Unfinished Downloads...
You may be prompted to sign in. If that doesn't solve the problem, quit the application and continue as below.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    open $TMPDIR../C
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). A folder should open. From that folder, delete the subfolder named "com.apple.appstore".
Quit Terminal. Launch the App Store and try again.

  • Error 102 mac app store

hy guys, many thanks in advance.
I've got an early 2008 iMac, yesterday i decided to re-install Mountain Lion as a brand new plain install (in effects i had always made upgrade from prevoius osx).
I can't get the updates, Mac app store starts downloading but after 20 MB i get "ERROR 102" message and also internet is extremly slow.
It's strange because my mb air my ipad and my iphone do work fine!
I tried to "google" about this error and got some things to do (delete caches and plist files, reinstall Osx, ...) but i get the same message.
    Any idea?
Thank you in advance (and sorry 4 my not perfect english! )
    Fabio

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select "/var/log/install.log" from the file list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, start over and note the time. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.

  • Error 13 mac app store

    Hi all,
whenever I try to download an app in the mac app store I get an error saying: " Error in the app store. Try again later (13)". It used to work fine but one day it just stoped working. I have a mac and works fine there.
I have already tried to fix the permissions.
    thanx in advance.

It helps to tell us which Mac OS X you have installed when you ask for help.
If you are running Snow Leopard, installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo might help.
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed, then try the App Store.

  • How do you remove an unknown account from Mac App Store?

I really am bothered by these updates that need to be updated by a "[email protected]" I really wish that someone could help me ASAP.

When someone else's Apple ID shows up in the MAS on your Mac it means that you have pirated MAS app(s) on your Mac. That free app that you downloaded rather than buy it from the MAS. The pirates cracked the app with the MAS receipt from the app asking to be updated, which they acquired using this other person's account. Get rid of the pirated app(s) and the issue goes away.
    Finding a pirated app
All MAS apps have a MAS receipt in their app bundle. Check any app acquired from the MAS. Right click on the app's icon in your Apps folder and choose Show package contents. In the Contents folder is a _MASReceipt folder and in that folder is the coded MAS receipt. It has the Apple ID of the MAS account that bought/acquired the app from the MAS. It is that receipt that the MAS uses to alert you that an app has an update. There would not be a notice of an update with someone else's Apple ID showing in the MAS on your Mac, if there was not an app with a receipt from this person's account somewhere on your Mac.
    Download the free app FindAnyFile (FAF);
    http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
This app is easier to use and seems to be more powerful than Spotlight. Open FAF and in the box type _MASReceipt and press Find. It should come up with a list of every app on the Mac with a MAS receipt. Compare the apps with receipts in FAF's list with your purchased apps list in the Mac App Store. The odd app out should be the pirated app.

  • "Unknown Error" in the App Store on my iMac.

I get an "Unknown Error" when trying to purchase an app in the App Store on my iMac.  I do not get this error in iTunes on the same Mac and using the same username/password or in the App Store on my iPad.  Very frustrating.  I've read some other threads and tried to delete the networkinterface.plist thing, but that didn't work either.

Google Earth is made by Google and they choose not to distribute their app that way. The App Store is convenient but by no means compulsory for developers.
EBay is a website, not an App.

  • Could Not Sign In. An unknown error has occurred (App Store on iPad)

    Hi,
I've just bought an iPad mini today. I have also created an Apple ID which is work fine with FaceTime and iMessage (already test call and sent text). But when I tried to login to App Store it said "Could Not Sign In. An unknown error has occurred". I tried login with my son's account and it work fine. It just won't accept my newly create ID. I'm sure my password is correct because I can use it to login to this Support Communities page.
    What should I do?

Try refreshing the ID by signing out, restart the iPad and then sign in again..
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to download again.

  • Mac App Store Error 18 in brand new iMac, doesn't allow me to update Mountain Lion, iPhoto and iMovie.

    Hi there,
When I try to update iMovie, iPhoto and Mountain Lion I get this error: "Error in the App Store. Try again later. (18)".
Just wanted to know if anybody had the same Error from Mac App Store as I've been searching in the Apple Support Communities and other websites but haven't been able to find any solutions to the problem.
I have a new iMac 21 inch running Mountain Lion, I received it a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hi,
I tried to update them all together and also separately but just couldn't be done.
I don't remember having accepted anything regarding iLife apps during the iMac set up to be honest.
I still haven't tried any of the iLife apps, but why would this matter?
I should be able to update without any problem and still get the same "Error in the App Store. Try again later. (18).
I just saw this other post and it looks exactly the same problem as I have, but nobody seems to know how to solve it either:

  • Mac App Store troubles

So earlier today I bought iMovie 11 for my Macbook and installed it and it had a problem where the video window was always black no matter what type of video or photo you tried to play. So I decided to clean install of Mac OS X. I finished the installation and updates and then went to re-download iMovie. So I go to purchases, and click the install button by iMovie but nothing happens, sometimes i get an 100 error. I tried repairing permissions, 10.6.7 combo update, deleting plist files. Nothing seems to fix this problem. It's really frustrating me! Help?

    Hi,
So I go to purchases, and click the install button by iMovie but nothing happens
Open the MAS. Click Account under Quick Links on the right. Click Edit next to Payment Information.
Make sure the Security code for your credit card is available, click Done.
Now try re downloading iMovie, instructions here.
