Unknown error problem printing

Last try. I get an "unknown error" when trying to print from any website. I've tried the resetting suggestion and also reloaded FF 3.6. The problem persists. Any other ideas?

Using Firefox 3.6.6 get unable to print unknown error message while printing; using Vista SP2. Everything else prints fine including the dreaded IE.

  • How to solve the " Unknown error" problem

    hi
can anybody help me to solve " unknown error problem" of blackberry Z10 with "X" symbol at top right of the screen with red color.
And remaining all services (Wifi) are working except the calls.
And also my phone is automatically restarting frequently.
please help me in this regard

Phone restarting randomly could be loose battery. Tighten by putting a small strip of electrical tape on the back edge.

  • The "unknown error" problem when I am trying to sign in to the apple store on my Iphone 5

"unknown error" problem when I am trying to sign in to the apple store on my Iphone 5, which was recently replaced with new one by the warranty (maybe this is the reason). However, it signed in on this device at first, but now it is not... What should I do?

Mobile Me was withdrawn well over a year ago. If you still see Mobile Me in your system preferences it is because you have an old operating system.
iCloud has replaced mobile me, but you would need OS X 10.7.2 or better to use iCloud.

  • Getting unknown error when printing with latest version(using HP Laserjet 1200). I can't print at all using this version. Able to print previously.

I ceased to be able to print when the latest version of FireFox was
downloaded. I can print from the same websites using I. E.
My printer is a HP Laserjet 1200 series. I only get the error(an unknown error occurred while printing) when trying to print through FireFox. I can print email fine and any other instance as long as I'm not going through FireFox.

    Hello Josh,
We are using a couple of EFI (Fiery) controllers with our Canon copiers and I have been told by Canon support that we need to be using the MacTel (Universal Binary) versions of drivers for Leopard. Luckily for us we have mostly new models of RIPs and the UB drivers exist for these models, but I know that they are not available for all models, which I believe includes your X3e.
To determine if you have a driver or RIP issue, you could save the file as either PS or PDF and then use the EFI utilities, such as Command Workstation, to import the file to the RIP (select Process and Hold) and then see if you can print your multiple copies that way. If that works then you know that the RIP is probably okay.
The next test would be to create a generic PS queue to the X3e and print using this queue. If this works then you can narrow your issue down to the driver.

  • Unknown Error Problem

I was trying to restore album art to my iPod, and during the process of syncing, I get an unknown error message, number -50. I've been having problems with displaying album art, and I'd have to delete the album art in order to restore it. Now, I go to restore the artwork, I get that unknown error.

I am also having this same problem and my ipod won't reset, won't sync and won't update with the same error message (-50).
I am at a loss so I am sending it in for repair.
I've only had it since April 2008.

  • One Publishing "Unknown Error" Problem Fixed

Found a solution to one of the problems I was having publishing to a folder. Kept getting the unknown error when trying to publish and, after a little digging, found it to be a problem with iWeb's cache files. Trying to delete them manually just upset iWeb, so I ended up using the Onyx system manager program to clean out all the Application and Font caches, and suddenly iWeb was back in action. Doubt this a solution to all the publishing problems, but hope it helps some of you.

There's the iWeb cache under user-library-application support and two caches files inside the Domain file for your site. Its the ones in the Domain file that didn't like being deleted manually. Something about the script Onyx uses was able to get past that and clear up the problem for me, which is why I recommend using it. Since there seems to be several different causes for all these publishing errors, you might be fine just clearing the iWeb cache in the library, but I had to have Onyx clear everything before it work for me.

  • Error in Print Report.vi

I get "Unknown Error in Print Report.vi", error code -2147352567 when I run Text Report Example.vi in LabVIEW 6.1. My own code that ran OK in LabVIEW 6.0.2 also produces this same result in V6.1. I have not changed printers. Help.

    Hi.
I don't have exact solution for your problem, but it is very familiar to what I experienced.
I install 6.1 and Report Generation toolkit included with new package. I had all my programs written in 6.0.2 with Report Generation from version 1.0.
Almost every other VI from Report Generation did not work after I recompiled my VI into Labview 6.1. I spent several days trying to understand what is going on, made several calls to NI tech support, but nobody could help me. Finally I found solution:
Uninstall New Report Generation toolkit Version 1.0a included into latest package of Labview 6.1 and install the very first version (I have it distributed as separate CD).
After such maneuver everything works fine.
I had another problem with this tool and especially Pri
    nt report.vi:
I have PDS package, and Print report.vi works excellent on my computer printing Standard Report. However when I create stand-alone application and distribute it together with run-time engine on user computers, it gives me error and I can only print creating Excel or Word type of report.
So, that is my experience. I think NI still has several bugs to work on. And if you find any other solutions, please let me know.
    Good luck.

  • Unknown error when editing Pages document.

I uploaded a Pages document to the iCloud Drive via the web browser. I can open and read the document using Pages on my iPad. However, when I attempt to edit the document, it tells me "Unknown Error: Document must be closed."
Is this a bug that Apple is working to fix?

I have a phone with IOS 8, a MacBook Pro with Yosemite and an iMac with Mavericks. Apple seemed to have dropped the ball as updating to IOS 8 and selecting Cloud Drive seems to cause problems with existing docs in the Cloud. For example, if I try to open an old doc on the Mavericks machine I get a warning that I can't as I have upgraded to Cloud Drive but none of the docs appeared on the Cloud Drive in Yosemite or IOS 8.
Eventually found a solution which was to drag all my Cloud docs to the desktop on the Mavericks machine so I did not lose them. I then opened iCloud.com and dragged the documents into the Cloud Drive there.
All OK so far in that they now show on my IOS phone AND my Yosemite MacBook but NOT on the Mavericks iMac. That shows a blank iCloud folder.
Tried to edit one of the docs on the IOS8 phone and got the Unknown Error problem and when I checked the doc on the MacBook the edit had not taken place. Discovered a solution on the MacBook though as trying to edit on that came up with a Document locked warning. I unlocked the document and the edit worked and was correctly saved in the Cloud. It could also now be opened and edited on the phone with no errors.
Then tried opening a different doc on the phone and had the same error problem so assume it was locked but could not see a way of unlocking it. Back to the File selection screen and found I could select a document and make a copy. Then opening the copy I found I could make edits and save them with no error problems.
Bottom line is it seems existing docs in iCloud Drive could be locked and they need either unlocking or copying to avoid the error. Maybe IOS8 should be giving the same Document Locked Warning as Yosemite but it seems to be yet another bug in the new software.

  • Possible Answer to Unknown Errors!!!

I may have discovered an answer to unknown errors such as unknown error (-48) or unable to sync ipod. I had the problem myself and was messing around with my ipod. I have it set on manual and all my music I delete once I buy it and upload it. But if you have run into an unknown error problem, try going into...My Computer>Ipod Directory (i.e. J:)>Ipod controls>..Now how i got mine to work is i deleted all of my Temporary Files. After that i plugged my ipod back in, updated my ipod and synced it and it worked like that. Hope this provides help to users having my problem also and good luck with other problems!

  • Can anyone help with the new App Store app? It keeps telling me that there is an unknown error even though I can access my account information, thanks.

Any idea why upgrading to 5 should cause problems with App Store app. Can I delete it and download it again.  How might I do this.

I had an unknown error problem with the Mac App Store, and this is how I fixed:
    (1) Inside Mac App Store select 'Debug' menu from top menu bar
    (2) Select "Show download folder ...'  from drop down menu
    (3) It will then take you to the folder in Finder
    (4) Press Cmd + I while on highlighted folder to Get Info (or choose 'Get Info' from right-click menu)
    (5) Under sharing and permissions click on the padlock to enter admin password and make changes
    (6) Now press the plus "+" sign and from the dialogue box add the Administrators (admin) group
    (7) When returned to the Get Info box, under sharing and permissions select 'Read and Write' as the option next to the admin group
    (8) Close the Mac App Store app, then re-open it. Now try downloading apps. It worked for me.
(note: I'm finding I have to lock and unlock a couple of times with Lion before it lets me change some permissions, so if unresponsive first time try locking again then unlocking)

  • Unknown error (-56)

    Hi,
I have been using my iPod mini without issue for about a year now and today, I go to sync it with my library and I get the error message that it cannot copy to my iPod due to an unknown error (-56). Anyone ever have this happen? Any suggestions on how to fix this?
I was going to reset to the factory settings but I haven't messed with anything since the last sync which went down without a hitch so I'm a little hesitant to start messing with it. I'm stumped.

This has been a nightmare almost rendering my 2nd generation mini useless for anything other than playing music that was already on it... I have finally solved the issue but it was not a pretty or acceptible fix.
There were various songs that were causing the "unknown error" problem but none of them were identified as corrupt in iTunes, in fact all of them are playable on my computer and all of them had already been on my 2nd generation mini - meaning that these "problem" songs had uploaded fine with an earlier version of iTunes.
To identify songs that might now be considered corrupt, I first unchecked all of my submusic folders - music lists I have created for jogging, quiet time, etc and I tried syncing these folders one at a time. I found two folders that would not sync correctly - giving me this "unknown error" msg. I then created a test folder and dropped songs from the problem folders in one at a time to identify which ones were causing the problem. I don't have a tremendous amount of music but it was still a tremendous pain.
The strange part is that the problem songs play fine through the computer, and uploaded fine to an older iPod (20G). This has taken me almost a month to fix - not happy at all and still want answers to why this happened.
If anyone has information that might shed light on this issue, please continue to submit the information to this post.
    Thanks!

  • N8 Web Feeds "Unknown Error"

    Hi,
I have another problem with my N8. I use Web Feeds but I always get "Unknown Error" when trying to refresh the feeds. This happens whether I try and refresh 1 or all feeds.
Once this happens the Web Feed feature becomes useless as it always errors until I factory reset the phone.
I have reset the phone and also deleted all the default feeds and left the BBC news feed only. This worked for a day or so (refreshed about 3 times) but has now broken again with the "unknown error" problem. I have deleted the BBC feed and tried to re-add it (and tried other feeds) but once the problem occurs it will stop all feeds from working.
Anyone else having this problem and does anyone know how to solve the problem or stop it from happening ?
    Thanks,
    Steve.

I use webfeeds (Nokia News.Com and Blog du N8) on my N8, i have no problems with this. Are you sure your device has a connection to the internet available when you try to refresh your webfeeds?

  • While IE 8 prints FF 3.6.16 runs into a "unknown error" when I attemp to print from a website; how to fix it?

I call up a web page, I click on File and the click on Print. The print process begins but at about 50% progress an error message pops up saying that "An unknown error has occurred in the printing process..." and the process comes to a halt.
IE 8 simply prints the same page without difficulty. HP support was not able to help.

So far,it seems to work.Funny,I have described this problem to someone at [email protected],and they couldn't help me,and never suggested the "reset" option. The problem has been intermittent, which leaves me holding my breath-hopefully,my problem is permanently solved. Thanks!
    Update:
Not sure if this helps, but something bizarre is happening in my Preferences. The "print.print_printer" entry has disappeared (which I had reset earlier),and when I close and restart FF,the settings in Preferences change, seemingly at random.Sometimes Print works, sometimes it doesn't. Attached are screen shots of both Preference states which seem to cycle back and forth. It doesn't seem to affect the ability/inability to print when in either state.

  • Unknown error while trying to print PDF

I keep getting an unknown error when I try to print a PDF. The message is "Printing Error: The Adobe Print Engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown problem" followed by a note pad popping up filled with this:
    %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
%%[ Error: ioerror; OffendingCommand: readstring ]%%
    Stack:
    (› PoÈsKÖn µÐY5Âê2¢ ÷Fmø-êíöYJ
øR½=Ö¤%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
I the service chat pointed me at this link: Error "...The Adobe Print Engine has failed..." | Print | InDesign |CS, CS2, CS3 but none of those solutions solved the issue.
    What I have tried:
    Restarting the program and computer
    Renaming the file
Going into the program setting as the link suggests
In the meantime I will use the PDF presets to make PDFs.

Presumably you have a good reason for wanting to print PDF instead of exporting? For troubleshooting tips, see Adobe Community: File Crashing on Output - printing/PDF/other

  • 1018"an unknown error occurred while printing"

    HP1018
    Windows 7 64-bit
Print test works ok, prints from OpenOffice and some other applications.
However, from Adobe Reader X 10.1.6 nothing happens after clicking on the print dialog button. I have also tried "Print as Image," and there is no response from that either.
Firefox 18.02 returned "Printer Error: An unknown error occurred while printing."
I have also updated the driver to "lj1018_1020_1022-HB-pnp-win64-en.exe" which installed identifying itself as a "1020 Series".
That install appeared to install correctly, and the above applications which _could_ print before can still print ok, but the same problem occurs with Adobe Reader X 10.1.6, with not repsonse after successfully using print dialog, both regular and "print as image", and same error, "Printer Error: An unknown error occurred while printing," is returned from Firefox 19.0
    Barry

It sounds like there's a compatibility problem.  You might try a different reader.  Here's a link to a PDF reader that is similar to Adobe.  Click Here  You might try another browser such as Chrome.
