Unknown Error strikes again

I am having issues with the classic "Error compiling movie. Unknown error." bug when trying to render Quicktime H.264 720p and I was wondering if anyone has found a fix yet.
The sequence I am having issues with is a combination of MXF and TIFF files, about 10 minutes long with multiple audio channels.
I have tried:
Restarting Premiere
Restarting my machine
Switching to a different machine
Clearing cached files
Clearing rendered preview files
Changing preview file type
Rendering in smaller sections to try and isolate bad files
Removing all TIFF files
Removing all MXF files
All of these have failed and I'm still getting the issue and still cannot render.
Has anyone found a fix for this issue??
I am using CC 2014 on Windows 8 Pro 64bit
Intel Xeon E5 2630 v2 2.60GHz (x2)
64GB RAM

Yeah I did restart and no, I am not using any third party plugins.

  • Cannot connect to iTunes store - error #5002 Unknown error, try again later

I have been browsing through the postings to find an answer to my problem - however no luck so far. I have run the diagnostic test, and (even though it is in Danish) at the very end it says that connections have been established successfully.
Still I am not able to connect from iTunes but receive the above error #5002. I can connect to the Apple store directly (using store.apple.com/us)

Don't Uninstall Safari. It rarely does any good, and often just creates more of a mess.
The CT problem is handled this way
    Close Safari.
    Check here for CT Loader
    Locate and delete:
    HD/Library/Application Support/Conduit
    HD/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
    HD/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
    HD/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
    HD/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
    HD/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
It may not be in every single location, but get it out where ever you find it.
    Restart Safari. Any Better?
If it's already uninstalled, try the combo update to get SAfari back.
Or reinstall from your Install Disk.

  • Unknown error -42408 when I try to authorize new PC to play old purchases

I got a new computer and when I moved my iTunes purchases over, many of them cannot be played. I try to authorize them for this computer and it says "unknown error try again later (-42408)" This really blows because I seem to have lost a number of songs to this problem. Songs I purchased from other sites transferred fine. Any ideas?

With that one, I'd try the following document. (On Windows 7, I'd start with the section about User Account Control.)

  • Unknown error 0xE000004??

I recently purchased and downloaded Yesterday as well as Injustice and have not been able to install either app due to an "unknown error occurred (0xE000004)".
I've downloaded both apps, and they're in my library, however, when I try to sinc my ipad 4, running IOS 6.1.3, I get an error message advising "The app was not installed on the ipad because an unknown error occurred (0xE000004).
I have since downloaded Topia World Builder and it synced/installed fine. I have trid reseting my ipad, tried to unistall and reinstall the app, have updated to the latest itunes 11.0.3.02, have tried restoring my PC to a month or so ago when I didn't have these issues, but I keep getting this error message?
Anyone know how to fix this? I've never had any issues like this before and I've had iphones, ipods and ipads for years?

This problem is very much alive still as of 29/09/14 with iTunes 11.4.0.18 and iOS 8.0.2 running on Windows 7 Pro. The endless nightmare with iTunes with one error after another that goes on literally for years with Apple always beta testing its products through its 'sucker' early adopters!!!
Just got an iPhone 6 and attempted to restore it from my iPhones 5 backup - and of course it failed, probably because the backup was corrupt but iTunes doesn't know this until you try to use it. No way to verify backups or check if a backup will fail because of some corruption on your iPhone or iPad.
So had to abandon restore from backup and start from scratch with installing my many hundreds of apps manually... only for this to keep on failing with this 'unknown error' (to any idiot at Apple that is) for app after app.
Think I half know (nothing new there then) what MAY be causing this. Suspect iTunes no longer tries to install apps from your PC that are no longer available for download but rather than tell you this (iTunes coders couldn't care less) - it gives this spurious 'unknown error' instead.
But again as usual with iTunes you never get one error but several related errors as well that iTunes will not be aware of but still fail with. So if you have queued a number of apps for install and one is now no longer available for download - all following apps (?) will also fail to install with the same 'unknown error' message. As well as this, the app will be left on your iPhone with the helpful 'Waiting' message obscuring the apps name so you can't identify it to try a direct streamed download (which may sometimes works).
And if you are prepared to lose an app (because Apple no longer has it but you do) - when you try to remove the (failed installed) app through iTunes by syncing its removal - iTunes helpfully fails with the 'unknown error' message again and leaves the half installed app on your iPhone. So then tried to delete it from iPhone directly which works but the next time you sync again through iTunes - iTunes attempts to reinstall it (even though you haven't asked it to) and again fails with the 'unknown error' message.
The only workaround I've found for this is to actually remove the app from my PC so iTunes can't see it.
What a f*****g nightmare! I'm rapidly turning into an Apple hater and am seriously thinking of returning my new iPhone 6 and moving over to Android.

  • I cannot sign into App Store. "unknown error" and then "We cannot complete your request. There has been an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (4)"

I cannot sign in to the App Store.
I changed countries a few months ago and updated all my account info and everything was working fine, until recently, while trying to upgrade my softwear to Mavericks, which I cannot do. My apple Username and password work fine on iTunes and on my iPhone. I can also access all my account info when I sign in through the website. It just will not work for the App Store on my Mac Pro.
When I click "Welcome" under Quick Links it asks me to sign in. I sign in with my Apple Username and Password and then it DOES NOTHING
When I click on "Free Upgrade" and then "Install" on the mavericks software, it asks me to sign in again. This time it says "unknown error" and then it says "We cannot complete your request. There has been an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (4)"
I''m completely blocked. I cannot procede without being able to update my software.
    Please help me.

    You could try this.
Back up all data.Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Reboot and test. If there's no change, restore the item you deleted from a backup, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Otherwise, you may need to recreate some of your settings in the Network preference pane.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

    Hi All,
I had this problem today myself, and was frustrated repeatedly by the '4002' error.
I have literally just fixed the issue by doing the following steps:
1: Go to the 'Store' tab and select 'Turn Off iTunes Match'
2: Return to the 'Store' tab and select 'Update Genius'
3: Wait for this to complete succesfully, the return to the 'Store' tab once more and select 'Turn On iTunes Match'.
4: iTunes Match will now go through the motions and should succeed!
    I hope this helps

  • Firefox aborts LARGE downloads on completion with an 'unknown error' and the whole file has to be downloaded again - surely there must be a workfile somewhere?

Because I only have satellite internet available to me, I have to download YouTube files in my download window. Several times now, one or two of maybe five or six files, all being downloaded simultaneously *to the same directory*, will abort with an error message "<filename> could not be saved because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to a different location". However, you don't get a chance to save it to a different location, the whole damned file has to be downloaded again from scratch. This is actually with IceWeasel 17.0.10, a thinly-disgusided version of Firefox 17 LTS, running on 64-bit Debian 7.1 multihome.
I realise this may be a plugin problem rather than a Firefox problem, I'm not sure of the exact relationship between the two, but I'm using TubeEnhancer 2.6 to do the downloads.
Whatever the 'unknown error' might be (and it's not a permissions problem, other videos being downloaded at the same time will save correctly to the same directory!) it seems beyond belief that it's not possible to give the user a chance to save the file somewhere else, as the error message suggests. It's so frustrsting to have to go through the whole download process again. Surely Firefox is storing a copy of the file on the hard drive as it downloads, is there really no way that this can at least be recovered when the error occurs, even if it's not possible for some reason to give the user a second chance to pick a directory and filename?

OK, so I tried disabling the other addons and (I'm sure this is coincidental!) the problem actually got WORSE, not better, i.e. more aborted downloads.
This is a long-standing problem with both Firefox and Thunderbird, both programs will happily tell you *during* the download process that they've downloaded X MB of Y MB, but if the download aborts, then there's no indication that it's done so on the dowload page. All that is needed is to retain that expected download size figure when the download has terminated, so that you can easily see whether unattended downloads completed or not.
Yes, I suppose those of us who have to use satellite internet services are in the minority, but the only hours when I can download anything are between 0200 and 0700 my time, and I do like to get SOME sleep at nights!

I made sure iPhoto wasn't blocked in my facebook app settings.
I tried to delete the account, closing iPhoto and relaunching. It still does not work.

Do you see any error messages/ diagnostics in the Console Window, when you try to connect to Facebook?
Launch a Console window from Applications > Utilities and clear the Console Window. Then try to upload. Are there any new messages?
And also launch a Terminal and have a look, if "facebook.com" is properly resolved:

    ping facebook.com

  • When I attempt to upgrade an app in iTunes for windows, I get an error:  "Could not purchase.  An unknown error occurred (11111).  There was an error in the iTunes Store.  Please try again later"

When I attempt to upgrade an app in iTunes for windows, I get an error:  "Could not purchase.  An unknown error occurred (11111).  There was an error in the iTunes Store.  Please try again later"
I am running the latest iTunes 10.7.0.21 for Windows 7.
This error occurs if I try to either update the app or if I delete it and attempt to redownload.
I have an iPhone and an iPad.  I am unable to update the apps or install the apps from within the App Store on iOS.
I do not have an AOL ID, as is a common issue with this type of error.
From what I can tell, my Apple ID account seems fine.  I logged in, changed some information, and ensured my credit card is valid and updated.
I can download new apps just fine.  I am unable to update or install apps I have purchased in the past.

After 30 minutes this morning, no resolution. Then another tech support call this afternoon, 15 minutes in, was escalated to a Tier 2 (Senior) advisor. He said something similar to the above ("this is one of the strangest things I've seen"). He was chatted with iTunes guys and took all my info into the case and was escalating it over to engineering. Said they would be in touch.
    So, no solution...yet.
    Just to clarify:
iTunes on Windows7: trying to update an existing app, or re-download a prior app, gives the (11111) error. Downloading a new (free) app worked fine.
App Store on iPhone5, iOS 6.0.1: click on UPDATE, switches to INSTALLING...for a second, then switches back to UPDATE. No error message (and nothing in Diagnostic data).
App Store on iPad 3, iOS 6.0.1: same as iPhone 5.
    Definitely account related.
I have cleared the store cache, signed out and back in, deleted the credit card data, and re-added, rebooting PC and iPhone...nothing works.
Will post if I hear anything back from Apple.
