"Unknown error trying to lock file." SharePoint Online

Greetings,
I am setting up a document library that will be used by users in our terminal session environment. Hosts are Windows 2008 Server R2. We are setup in a Office 365 / SharePoint Online. We have Office 2013 installed on the hosts.The test user that I have
setup has Edit permissions to this document library. Whenever the user goes to open a document in the library it always opens in "Read Only" mode, and when trying to edit I receive the message "Unknown error trying to lock file." I have
read other threads and already changed the following.
-Put our SharePoint in the correct internet zone / and trusted sites (GP)
-Setting to require documents to be checked out before they can be edited (Library Settings)
-Allow documents for opening in Read/Write (GP)
-Added registry entry for AuthForwardServerList including our Sharepoint site (Registry)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dermot,
Did this issue happen to all web applicaitons, and all users? What if you access SharePoint site drectely other than via TFS?
Have you checked if there is any related error message in SharePoint ULS log or event in Event Viewer for any clue?
Also check if SharePoint server application pool (scheduled) recycle could help.

Error while Connecting Office 365/SharePoint online

According to your post, my understanding is that you had an issue to connect to the SharePoint online.
I had tested with your code, and it worked well as below.
Did your project contain other code? Such as parse the XML file?
You can create a new clean project to check with it works.

Firefox aborts LARGE downloads on completion with an 'unknown error' and the whole file has to be downloaded again - surely there must be a workfile somewhere?

Because I only have satellite internet available to me, I have to download YouTube files in my download window. Several times now, one or two of maybe five or six files, all being downloaded simultaneously *to the same directory*, will abort with an error message "<filename> could not be saved because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to a different location". However, you don't get a chance to save it to a different location, the whole damned file has to be downloaded again from scratch. This is actually with IceWeasel 17.0.10, a thinly-disgusided version of Firefox 17 LTS, running on 64-bit Debian 7.1 multihome.
I realise this may be a plugin problem rather than a Firefox problem, I'm not sure of the exact relationship between the two, but I'm using TubeEnhancer 2.6 to do the downloads.
Whatever the 'unknown error' might be (and it's not a permissions problem, other videos being downloaded at the same time will save correctly to the same directory!) it seems beyond belief that it's not possible to give the user a chance to save the file somewhere else, as the error message suggests. It's so frustrsting to have to go through the whole download process again. Surely Firefox is storing a copy of the file on the hard drive as it downloads, is there really no way that this can at least be recovered when the error occurs, even if it's not possible for some reason to give the user a second chance to pick a directory and filename?

OK, so I tried disabling the other addons and (I'm sure this is coincidental!) the problem actually got WORSE, not better, i.e. more aborted downloads.
This is a long-standing problem with both Firefox and Thunderbird, both programs will happily tell you *during* the download process that they've downloaded X MB of Y MB, but if the download aborts, then there's no indication that it's done so on the dowload page. All that is needed is to retain that expected download size figure when the download has terminated, so that you can easily see whether unattended downloads completed or not.
Yes, I suppose those of us who have to use satellite internet services are in the minority, but the only hours when I can download anything are between 0200 and 0700 my time, and I do like to get SOME sleep at nights!

An unknown error has occured - opening file

Hi, I'm trying to open a few different AI files that I created and saved a few days ago. They are both giving me an "an uknown error has occurred" message and won't let me open them. I've tried restarting and updating illustrator. Any ideas what is wrong? Thanks.

It the issue is limited to specific files:
One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way (remember to tick Paste remembers Layers in the Layer palette flyout/dropdown first, and to untick it afterwards).

If the issue applies to all files:
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Unknown Error- can't upload files?!

I've been trying to upload a .MOV file into iMovie, but when it gets toward the end of the upload, it says there was an "unknown error" and that it could not be uploaded. The file is 25.1 MB and 1:40. Meanwhile, I had no problem uploading other .MOV files that were filmed the same day on the same camera. I had the problem with three specific files, and I tried emptying the trash bin, re-uploading the files, etc, and nothing worked. Help!

I'm not really sure what camera the file was filmed with because it was actually a friend of mine's who had put her memory card into my digital camera to load her videos onto my laptop. What seemed weird was that we were able to get several clips filmed the same day with the same camera (whichever kind it was lol) and they loaded fine. I never considered that she might have compressed the files, which now that you point that out, is probably what she had done. I'm going to have to check the other files and see how long they were, because I think the one that we had the problem with was the longst clip we had.

Unknown error -50 converting midi file

I'm trying to convert some midi files I made to mp3's so I can burn them to a disk. When I select "convert to mp3" from the Advanced menu I get an "unknown error (-50)" message. I've tried this on my iMac and on a Win2K laptop with the same results. I've successfully converted midi files in the past, so I'm not sure what's wrong now. I have iTunes 6 on both machines. My iMac is running the latest update of Mac OSX version 3. Any ideas what this error code means, or how to get around it?

Nope. For example the album where tracks 11 & 12 wouldn't convert: track 11 is titled "The End Has No End". All other details (artist, album, genre, artwork, etc) are identical to tracks 1-12 & track 13. Yet track 11 wouldn't convert, throwing up the error message when the progress bar was about 25% of the way up, but tracks 1-10 and track 13 convert fine
Which leads me to another point that makes me think it can't be what you suggested - namely that track 11 fails about 25% of the way up the progress bar, yet track 12 fails AS SOON as I choose "Convert to AAC". If the problem was related to file name characters or whatever you'd expect both of them to fail at the same point, presuming iTunes writes name/tag information at the same point for every file (start or end I'd presume).

Got error when deploying app to sharepoint online dev site

The App seems to be working just fine, just got this error whatever app i tried to deploy, even a simple sample app

Make sure you openmed Visual Studio as "Run as administrator". And you are deploying to SharePoint 2013 developer site and having full rights on it.

Unknown error about itunes library file cannot be saved (-50).

I recently downloaded and installed itunes 7.3
Now there's a problem.
Everytime i open itunes, the error message saying "The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-50)."
After which, some songs which i upload onto itunes after installing itunes 7.3 will be gone everytime i open itunes and i'll have to upload them again.
Is there something I can do about it?

When I try to load this file in the PFCG Roler I receive the following error:

Program error trying to open files

Since upgrading to Mavericks anytime i try to open files by going to file,open it says "Could not complete your request because of a program error".. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and also tried using the cleanup tool but still getting that error. I am using an iMac 27".. Also tried resetting preferences, still no luck.. any suggestions? Tried contacting @adobecares on twitter they suggested posting on here.. thanks in advance.

'Unknown Error' when running a file download in SM36/7 - fine when manual.

I am running a program through a scheduled job (in SM36/7), and the program downloads a file to a specified directory/folder on my file server. I am using the method
cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download
to do this.
However, this process fails in the background job. When I run it manually, it succeeds. In other words, there is nothing wrong with the code.
Essentially, I think there is some information missing that it can get from my logon when running it manually, but not in the background job.
Does anyone know of a solution for the above? Points will obviously be awarded.
I have searched the SAP Notes, and done some searching on the Net, but I have had no joy.

Frontend services wo'nt work in background job.
If you have to download a file from a background job, please use the following statement :
    OPEN DATASET filename FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
    IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
      LOOP AT itab.
        TRANSFER itab TO filename.
      ENDLOOP.
      CLOSE DATASET filename.

"Unknown Error" trying to sign in to iTunes account

I'm unable to sign in using my Apple ID in the iTunes application. However, I am able to sign in on the web (this forum), the Mac App Store, and also on my iPhone. Any ideas?

I received this email from Apple and this corrected the problem for me... I only had to reset the iTunes cache
1) Open iTunes
2) At the top menu, click File > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac)
3) In the Preferences menu, click the Advanced tab
4) In the Advanced menu, you should see a button that says "Reset Cache". Please click this button.

Errors Trying to combine files into a single PDF after update?

I am not sure if an adobe acrobat update caused this but I have not been able to since at least the second most recent update. I can insert pages but If select multiple pages there is always in issue with the order. I have not tried un-installing and re-installing yet. Please Help. Thank you.
Update: I tried un-installing and re-installing but did not work completely. I was able to combine some jpgs from the windows right click menu but I am not able to combine PDFs that I have converted from other tiffs or the tiffs themselves.
