Unknown Error When Collecting Files to Copy to a New Location

Going crazy!! I'm trying to shift over and start working on a different computer but although I created my project on an external hard drive so that this move would be easy, I realised too late that my Auto-save folders were saving to the computer's Documents folder. I copied these onto the external hard drive but it still doesn't work when I open Premiere. Instead of five sequences in my project, opening it on my new computer, there only appears to be one sequence and all my bins are not the latest updated state in which they appear on my old computer.
I decided to go to the Project Manager and Collect the Files to Copy to a New Location, making sure the Project destination is on my external hard drive, however three times the copying process has stopped due to an Unknown Error. Does anyone know what this error could be?
I only have possession of the old computer for another 24 hours so if I can't find a solution I will have to lose four solid months of work.

I have encountered an unknown error when trying to combine files into a single pdf. It specifically states: "No PDF file was created because Acrobat encountered an unknown error." This is unusual as just yesterday I was able to perform this task with ease - and being able to do this task will save me hours of work time. What has been done between yesterday and today - I updated my windows 7 and maybe even updated Adobe Acrobat.9 Pro - I also deleted some malware that was unnecessary for my computer: Qwiklinx; yontoo; ... I did a restore to when this action worked but to no avail.

Why do I keep getting low memory errors when opening files in Bridge CS4? (New computer running i7 2.40GHz, 12GB RAM)

Just picked up a new computer which has a lot more RAM than my old computer bu I keep getting low memory errors. Never had this issue on my old computer, any ideas?

Hi ed2345 and diesel vdub, when I consolidate, the files start copying to the new location and part way through I get a message that the copying failed (-50) even though all of the files are already in place in the new location. Should I just delete the itunes in the new location and manually copy the files again? But in itunes, I have indicated that the new location is on the external hard drive but itunes seems to ignore that and still looks for itunes in the original location on my internal hard drive. I disabled the location of itunes in the old location (by labelling itunes as "itunes old") and it tried to create a new itunes at the old location and prompted me to import music and videos from a CD or other source. I hope I am making sense.

I would get an external drive today and copy all your stuff off the TC.. forget trying to load more onto it. There is a good chance after 3years (A 2TB should be only about 2years tops), the disk or the TC itself is on the way out. Do it immediately. If TM is also failing to backup you need to recognise symtoms of impending doom.
Unfortunately the error messages are archane and it is hard to discover their meaning.
You also cannot verify a network drive.. you can verify the TM sparsebundle though so do that.

Reboot the whole network from off.. certainly if you run later OS it can simply lose the drive..
If you still fail to be able to copy to the TC.. then get that external and copy off it. Tell us if you can do that.

Unknown Error when I Logging and Transfer P2 Card files in FCP 6.0.6

I have been trying for the past two week to Log and Transfer P2 files to my external hardrive using FCP 6.0.6 unsuccessfully.
Originally I tried to Log and Transfer directly from the Panasonic HPX-170 in between my shooting. The first time it was a success but from then on I always get the same Unknown Error when attempting to transfer. When I encountered the Unknown Error during the second transfer I went on to create folders with the P2 contents on my external Hard Drive.
When I drag any of the P2 folder content on the Log and Transfer window I can see all the clips. I can successfully transfer small B-roll clips I have but any big size file (all my interviews) return an Unknown Error symbol at the end of the transfer. I believe this is probably why I didn't encounter any issues during my first time.
I tried deleting the preferences in FCP and then Logging and Transfer and it works if the systems settings are set for the Mac Pro but not for the external HD. The problem is I don't have enough space on my Mac. I have cleared 45GB of space but my P2 files total 54GB. I tried the same process with a Mac Power Book with FCP 5.1.4 and again in encounter the same problem.
The external HD is a 1TB Western Digital that I have used before with FCP for editing but never before with P2 files. Its in good working order and has 79GB free space remaining. Both the camera and the P2 cards (16GB and 4GB) are also performing as expected.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

Very often in the field with this camera the camera operator will delete clips from the P2 card that they just don't like. That is the beauty of this camera. But, the still for that video file (located in the CLIP folder in the CONTENTS folder)...the still that you see when you are in the P2 Import window...is not deleted. So you will see the image, and the name, but the video file would have been deleted.
What you can do it compare the file names in the VIDEO folder and CLIP folder and see if anything is missing. If something is, then you know what the problem is. You can then just import the rest a few at time, skipping that one.
ALSO...in the P2 Import window...in the P2 Browser, there is a little sprocket drop down menu. Click on that and choose PREFERENCES. Uncheck REMOVE PULLDOWN and then try importing again.
ALSO...make sure your file names aren't too long. Try shortening them and see if that works.
ALSO make sure that the folders that contain the CONTENTS folder doesn't have any odd characters like /!@#$%^&*()?.

Sync Setup gives unknown error when creating account

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

Unknown Error When Saving with CS6

I am receiving an unknown error when trying to save my document. I have tried to take off the PDF convertable part, and tried saving it legacy style, but it's still not working. I have a doc open I need to save and won't be able to shut my computer down until I fix this... What could be the issue? Is there a fix for it?

After nearly ripping my eyeballs out and chucking my laptop out the window, I finally fixed the problem!
For some reason I didn't have a CMaps folder in my Adobe - Common Files - Font folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts\Reqrd\CMaps
So I made the "CMaps" folder and copied and pasted the files "Identity-H" and "Identity-V" from an "Adobe Reader" CMap folder, and now I can save text in an *.ai file with PDF Compatibility checked.
It's pretty strange Illustrator was working for 2 years without this folder, and now all the sudden it needed it. Also, this is a very obscure fix.
Hopefully the programmers at Adobe have fixed these bugs in newer versions.

That error can happen for many reasons...one of the reasons that I occassionaly get it is because I try exporting a movie to an external drive that has been formated in the old FAT32 instead of the NTSF standard. FAT32 only allows for file sizes up to 2 gigs. And as soon as it reaches that...I would get that error. I don't know if that is why you are getting that error...but it would be easy to check. 1) are you generating a file that is over 2 gigs? 2) is your drive that you are exporting to FAT 32 (just right click the drive in My Computer and select "properties" then just look for what it says next to "file system".

I received this email from Apple and this corrected the problem for me... I only had to reset the iTunes cache
1) Open iTunes
2) At the top menu, click File > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac)
3) In the Preferences menu, click the Advanced tab
4) In the Advanced menu, you should see a button that says "Reset Cache". Please click this button.

Unknown error when rendering video in premier

Everytime I try and render out certain clips in premier pro it gives me an "unknown error". I have restarted, copied and pasted my footage into a different sequence and started a new project. Any idea how I can fix this? I did move the footage from another sequence and some of the files not working I have adjusted speed on if that helps.

- I have the very latest version of Premier PRO on the cloud.
- Running on a MAC OS X version 10.9.2
- I shot the footage with a go pro hero 3+ in 1440 x 1920 at 48 fps.
- I took the footage and changed it to 24 fps to slow down the footage
- I sped up some clips to 200% speed to create more real motion and not slo mo
- video sequence just has a song with it. I have attached a screen shot here.

Unkown Error When Saving File

I am in need of assistance with an issue I am having with Illustrator CS5.1.
I am working in a Windows 7 Professional 64bit environment. The machines are all similar as far as hardware specs go. 1 gen2 intel 930 w/8 gigs of 1666 ram, and 2 gen1 intel 930's with 6 gigs of 1666 ram.
I have recently installed an upgrade from CS4 design premium to CS5.5 design premium on multiple machines. I can open .pdf and AI files fine from the CS5.1 Illustrator but it gives me a message stating "Unknown Error" When trying to save to any format except template. Another thing I noticed is that when trying to set the default program to open .pdf it only gives me the option of CS4, even if I browse to the file folder that the new install of CS5.1 is in. I was under the impression that they 2 programs run side by side and the new does not overwrite the old. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

They do. Your file associations have nothing to do with that. You need to delete all of them in Windows Explorer and rebuild them from scratch manualyl. The short version is, that there are simply aalready too many contexct handlers registered and neitehr a program nor Windows itself can add any more. The rest is a bit vague - saving errors can have an infinite number of causes from permissions issues to hardware problems.

Unknown error when exporting 32-bit 5.1 wav audio

I get the ever useful "Unknown error" when exporting the audio from Premiere Pro CS6 to a 32-bit, 5.1 channel uncompressed WAV file most of the time. I was able to get it to work just fine by pasting the audio to a new project, but that isn't working anymore. I get the same error when I change it to 24-bit audio. However, when I change to 16-bit sound it works fine.
First, is there a real audible difference between 16- and 32-bit when it's all going through a WAV to AC3 converter? The AC3 files get dumped into Encore as the audio track so that I can get 5.1 sound on blu-rays instead of Encore re-encoding things.
Second, what would cause it suddenly not work, and how can I get it working again?

Unknown error when burning disc

I get an unknown error when burning playlists to blank discs. My computer begins to write the discs, but stops after a song or two.

Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
