Same deal for me. I found an answer at ipadforums.com that fixed it for me. Go to settings, click on store, click on your user Id, sign out, and then sign back in. Hopefully it works for you too.

  • Unknown error when downloading apps

    Hi
I have this problem on both my Mac and my iPhone. When I first got my Mac and my iPhone, I used my family member'ss Apple ID, and downloaded a lot of apps. Afterwards, I created my own Apple ID.
I'm facing this problem now where everytime I update (free) apps, it would ask me for my old apple ID information, which I don't have anymore.
The only option I see is to delete the whole app and re-download it again on my ID. It worked for 90% of my apss. However, there are some apps that still show up on the updates page of App Store, after I deleted it. And when I try to download it, it would ask for the password of my old apple ID (where I originally download with). I change the email and password when I was prompt, and it gives me "unknown error" "We Could Not Complete Your Request, There was an error in the App Store, Please try again later(4).
I was wondering if anyone can help me out.
    Thanks.

    BUMP

  • Apple ID has been verified but getting ID/password error when downloading app

Apple ID has been verified on Apple ID site - but getting ID/password error when downloading app.

    Hi Wantedhelp,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  If you are having trouble logging in to the App store on your iPad, I would first suggest you restart the device.
Then go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com), click “Manage your Apple ID,” and try to sign in with your Apple ID. If you are unable to sign in, follow the steps provided there to reset your Apple ID account password.
Then in the iTunes & App Store settings, sign out of your account, sign back in and try to purchase or redownload the app again.

  • Unknown error when downloading, importing playing or removing music

after using itunes for al little while I get an unknown error that itunes has encountered an unknown error and needs to close. it happens when I use Itunes while downloading content from the store, importing a cd just playing music or when I'm removing duplicate songs.
It doesnt matter what else I have running on the computer, I've disabled everything before running Itunes. A fresh installation of Windows doesn't help either.
It also does not matter how many songs I have in my library even if I have just 1 song it will shutdown because of the unknown error after a while
does anyone have similar problems or can somebody help me with this problem?
I also heard somebody talking about Itunes Pro, Is this just a rumour or is it actually available anywhere?

myacereporter, I didn't have any problems downloading the episode of Mad Men titled "Tea Leaves" for my season pass, but I keep getting the exact same error with episode 2x02 of The Killing "My Lucky Day". I've tried everything you tried for the Mad Men episode for my download of The Klling, and it still won't download properly, and I don't know what to do. I hope the people at Apple correct the problem that you and I are having with our downloads soon. I paid for a season pass of The Killing, so I think people who buy season passes should be able to count on getting the episodes of shows downloaded properly the day after the episode airs. I wasn't able to watch the two hour premiere of The Killing on TV last night, and I don't plan on watching the first episode until I have the second episode downloaded. I hope Apple are aware of these problems with the Mad Men and The Killing downloads and are already trying to fix the error so it can be solved soon.

  • "unknown error" while downloading app on iPad

When trying to download iBooks on my new iPad I get an "unknown error message. Can anyone help? Thanks

If you looked around, you'd see several threads on this.
This is a problem being experience by several people, so the issue has to be on Apple's end.  If you want to download iBooks now, connect your iPad to your computer, and download it from iTunes, then sync it to your iPad.

  • -50 "unknown error" when downloading?

I'm running iTunes 10.6.1 (7). I have a season pass to download all new episodes of Mad Men, but today when trying to download the latest episode, I watch iTunes try for a few seconds to initiate the download (progress goes from 0K of 2GB to 180KB of 2GB, resets to 0KB and then tries again, two or three times) and then it fails with this message: "There was a problem downloading ... An unknown error occurred (-50). Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."
    Things I've tried:
    - closing iTunes and restarting; I get the same error.
    - deleting the original file and retrying the download; same error.
    - disabling the iTunes store in Parental Controls, then re-enabling; same error.
    - upgrading to newest version of iTunes (I had been running a slightly older version earlier this morning); both older version and 10.6.1 (7) give me the same error
I have a network connection, and other parts of the download (i.e., the "bonus" materials connected to this episode) downloaded fine.
    Help?

  • "unknown error" when syncing apps

I can download from the App Store (most of the time, at least), but every time I download to iTunes and then try to sync to the iPhone, I get an error like this:
The application "XYZ" was not installed on the iPhone "(iPhone name)" because an unknown error occurred (-4).
Anyone seen this, or (better yet) know what to do about it?

I have this same problem with 6 of my apps now. A month or so ago (before the update?) a second sync would clear this up. Now i get it every time I try. Something is definitely broken here.
A workaround that may worked is to deselect the apps giving you the error (from the Applications tab in iTunes), sync, then re-check them and sync again. This has worked for me in the past.
I do hope Apple fixes this annoyance though.

  • Unknown error when downloading a rented movie

every time I try to resume my download of the movie I rented, an unknown error occurs. The message reads: We could not complete your itunes store request. An unknown error occurred (-42110). please let me know if there is a way I can have this fixed, I just want to watch my movie. also if its important I have a Macbook Pro and it runs OS X (10.6.8). thanks

Perhaps try the "Error 3001," "-42110," or "5103" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

  • Unknown error when trying to copy music from itunes to ipod

Message appears "copy to the disk IP failed unknown error -53. Any ideas?

good gracious, Dick. you keep getting hit by exotic error messages. (in these circumstances, a -53 code is reasonably rare.)
just checking on something. what got you past the "exception" message that you were getting when you were trying to launch itunes? (thinking here that info on that might possibly give us a heads up on what might be happening with your -53.)

  • Disk full error when download files f. music store w.itunes6

Hi I have my volume mounted over afp 64gb used 56 free and when i download songs from music store it says disk full.
    This only happens since itunes6
It works seamless when downloading to local drive.
Any workaround for this nice new feature??

I don't understand it either, and I didn't study the problem at all after I got it working. I've read accounts of people experiencing this with varying amounts of space available, so I'm pretty sure it isn't directly related to the exact amount leftover (maybe it has to be above a threshold for the problem to occur at all...). Also, 200GB, while a nice even number in decimal form, isn't anything special in two's complement binary.
I'll assume that you are using the most current version of iTunes (7.0.2 I believe), so this confirms that the problem has not been repaired since I experienced it (7.0). So it is a lingering bug. I did experience the same oddness where I could download podcasts, but it was failing with videos. At the time I assumed it had to do with some arbitrary limit, and that the podcasts were small enough to remain under it. Now, I think it has to do with some state that is stuck in iTunes, and gets reset when something happens with the volume's filesystem.
Anyway, if following the above linked advice doesn't help in your situation, I'm at a loss for what else to try. I guess rebuilding your library may be worth a try. On a few occasions I've had to run "consolidate library". You could try that (if you are using the option to organize your files). It won't damage any of your settings.
On your last point, absolutely correct. Sorry about that, but that's my point of view.
    Good luck.
    Chris

  • Error when downloading apps

Whenever I try to download or update an app from the marketplace, I get an error message saying "error: cannot install on USB device or SD card" I don't believe it is due to memory issues, since I have 5.26 GB available on the SD card and 6.02 GB available on the phone. Is there any way to fix this problem without having to do a factory reset and losing the apps I have already downloaded (including ones that were free once but no longer are)? Is anyone else having this issue? Please help!

I have sort of the same problem except I'm not downloading any apps.  I have a LG  Vortex & suddenly I'll get a notification that my phone storage is low.  I've deleted all my apps & I still get that message at times.  It won't let  me receive new text messages or anything when that happens......does anyone know how to fix that?
Please read this thread in the link. Your low space problem is a different issue than the one presented by the original poster of the thread you posted onto.

  • Getting Unknown error when updating apps

Has anyone seen this when trying to update apps on iPad 1?

Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again.
NOTE - in iOS 5 go to Settings>Store>Tap your ID and sign out.

  • Using App Store when downloading app I enter password and get unknown error

i get no code, just unknown error when I put in my Apple ID password When downloading game in the App Store. Double checked password online on apple account, password entered is correct. What can I do to resolve this problem?

What you are telling me is contradictory information. So you will have to start over and give us proper details. One can not download Leopard for example. Or even Snow Leopard.
Can you also give me a screen shot showing me this exact error message on your system?
