  • Unknown file formats

I'm a silver haired N70 owner trying to keep the grey matter active! I get a lot out of my N70 (I think) but one problem always bugs me. If I try to open a file in FExplorer I often get the message "Unknown File Format". Why?

In your phone (in the Symbian operating system), a file type "handler" is registered as a special type of a program called a "recognizer", which knows what to do with a particular file.
If there is no recognizer for the file, then you get that error.
In other words, FExplorer asks the operating system to launch whatever program knows about this file, and the operating system is saying: "I don't have any registered programs that knows how to handle this type of files, so I don't know what to do with it".
Now, of course, the operating system is saying this through the error message "Unknown File Format", but what it means is what I wrote above.
Of course, it doesn't mean that there are no programs that know what the file is for. Just that there is no system-level recognizer for it. The program that "owns" the file can still know what it is for, and do whatever it does with it.
There is also a chance that the file was, for example, downloaded from a PC, the Internet or wherever, and it contains something no program on the phone knows what to do with (e.g., some unknown video file format, or whatever).

    Hi,
ADS has to be configured to perform those manual steps.
Please check the note 1580196 GTS: Error occurred when uploading file
    (unknown file format).
The manual steps related to SFP transaction need to be performed if your are running the form 16 in pdf format.
Since ADS was not configured in our system; we end up using  the option of running form 16 in SAP Script.
Changes related to SFP transaction need not be perfored in case you are running the form in SAP Script format as these are pdf specific changes.

  • Unknown file format when downloading map loader?!?...

I downloaded nokia maps from the nokia website and then nokia map loader but for some reason a get a message on my n73 saying that the nokia map loader is an unknown file format...can anybody tell me what to do??

I assume you're trying to install the map loader on your computer and not on your phone
If you can't get map loader to work, you could try this map loader alternative: http://nokiamaps.moo.no . You don't need to install anything for that.

  • Unknown file format error in studio mx

Help! I am using Flash in the Studio Mx Professional suite
and I cant open a .fla file. It tells me that its in an 'unknown
    file format'.
But the file does open when I used my school's Flash 8
program. Please tell me they didnt design the Series 8 programs so
they werent backwards compatible with the Mx series!!! Im so
agitated right now...sorry. So if there is a hotfix or any easy
solution that wont make me scream, please post!

    PyaNo;
You seem to be describing "forwards compatibility" rather
    than
backwards--not many applications do that... Flashmx (version
    6) cannot open
fla files saved from flash 8.
Fwiw flash can "downsave" fla files one version back--flash8

  • Nikon D60 RAW (NEF) unknown file format

I just got my Nikon D60 and would like to use Aperture 2.0 to open NEF for processing but the application reports it as an unknown file format...
Will Apple add support for the D60 or am I SOL?
    Thanks!

With every new camera, all software developers have to add something to their code to recognise the new raw format. Adobe as the biggest kid on the block is often the fastest but even Adobe might take a month or two (or three very occasionally), since they don't release a new version of ACR every week.
As soon as Adobe supports it, you can use the free Adobe DNG converter to batch convert your images to dng files and then use them in Aperture.
And yes, it is almost a given that Aperture (and OS X) will support the D60 in a few months at most.

  • N73 Error Messaging: Unknown File Format (-12003)

    Hi,
Could someone please tell me what is the below error message for in N73 Phone?
    Messaging: Unknown File Format (-12003)
I received a bluetooth attachment of a ".avi" extension. When i try to open that message in my inbox, it gives me the above error. I have a software "SmartMovie" which can play ".avi" files installed on my phone. So i don't understand why this error ?
Is it possible to configure the file types like avi to an application in N73 ?
    Please let me know..

    SHort answer is you can't.
If you can save the file to the phone you can download the dvx player from http://mobile.divx.com and then open the AVI file with the DiVX player. But you can't add AVI as a recognized file type (at least I haven't found a way).

  • SWF - unknown file format in v2.1 ?

    Hi,
I've installed Flash Player 2.1 in Nokia N70, and, as result,
none SWF file launchs from file-browser - only from Flash Player...
    What did I made wrong?
    Alex

On 2nd Edition, if you have Flash installed (likewise version
1.1) all the files are installed in a certain directory with proper
recognizer installed as well. With FL2.1 Adobe presumes you already
have a version of Flash installed in ROM (even if no 2nd Editon
devices has it, but all 3rd Edition do), they had to use a
different UID (as FL2.1 cannot replace ROM content) and they could
not ship a recognizer as this would conflict with the one in ROM
(recognizers work on file extensions and mime types which are the
same no matter the version of FL you use). On 2nd Edition devices
the installer will overwrite the files in the directory without any
warning (an extreme bad thing to do in the Symbian ecosystem) since
they install in the same directory they mess up both installations.
In fact your recognizer of version 1.1 is still there but won't
work anymore because it tries to launch 1.1 and not 2.1 (which has
a different UID). On 3rd Ediiton there is no way of overriding the
situation, if you launch files from File Explorer, Messagging etc,
FL 1.1 will be launched, for 2.x files you need to open them from
the FL2.1 menu itself. We notified Adobe of this problem months ago
(actually over one year ago), but they just don't get it. Since
they plan to update FL frequently they should have preinstalled
FlashLite on the memory card rather than phone ROM as this would
    have prevented conflicts with upgrades.

  • Doc files have been renamed to unknown file format .bhdiraa

    Hey All,
Randomly doc extensions files are being renamed to doc.bhdiraa .It looks like files have been encrypted.
Files are shared on the server and served by 100s of users (From WAN and LAN end).We did scan server with Many AVs
    and with virustotal.com
but couldn't find any malware. we do have "not so updated" backups. Does anyone have any solution on recovering data?
    immediate reply will be appreciable
    Thanks in advance.

You might also try renaming the extensions to docx or zip (just in case they're docx file and not just doc files) and seeing whether you can open them with Word or Windows.
If that doesn't work, you might need to use some commercial software like Malwarebytes (https://www.malwarebytes.org/) for recovery. There is also a free version you could try.

  • Adobe Uploading form error unknown file forma

    Hello,
I am working on adobe form. I want to upload an form from another system using tranaction SFP and process
    menu 'UTILITIES UPLOADING FORM OBJECT'.
I download the form from a environnement ECC6 in XML FILE. (by process downloading SFP transaction)
I upload the same form for another system ECC6 with using this same XML file (by process uploadind form SFP transaction)
But in the process of uploading from this XML file, I get this error
"*Error occurred when uploading file (unknown file format)" message number FPUIFB068
Does any body know why I get this error ?
I don't find any OSS note about it.
    Best regards
    Christine

    Hello,
I have no solution regarding your problem, but has an experience with a "dirty" way. If I needed to "copy" or "move" the form from one system to another, I just generated the form in the first system (got PDF file), opened this form outside SAP (in LCD launched from windows installation folder), copied the content of the form to clipboard, opened the blank for in SAP, paste the content there, do some minor changes and save/ activate/ run.
For me it worked ok, even if the form was complex.
If anybody else can provide the "proper" / "clean" solution, I would like to hear that as well.

  • Error in file receiver channel "Unknown payload format 0 in the message"

    hello
there is an errror in my receiver file channel with the status "Unknown payload format "
my channel is file receiver channel.
we implemented one sap note 1295430 and after that channnel is giving the error.
    Please forward your views.
    thanks.

    Hi there,
First of all, what TBDL means - It means that the message was successfully delivered from Integration Server and that the messages are handed over to the Messaging System.
TBDL occurs when the message is put into the receiving queue of the Messaging System.
    What can be done?
Go to Messaging System receive servlet:
    http://<Host>:<PORT>/MessagingSystem/receive/<CONNECTION>/<PROTOCOL>
If this was executed successfully, then the MS returns HTTP 200 to the Integration Server and the status TBDL moves to DELIVERING (check whether you have authorization to go to the above link).
--> Log-in to SAP using - XIAPPLUSER & XIAFUSER, and check if they are blocked
    --> Check the messages:
    AF
    com.sap.aii.adapterframework.serviceuser.language
    com.sap.aii.adapterframework.serviceuser.name = XIAFUSER
    com.sap.aii.adapterframework.serviceuser.pwd
    AS
    com.sap.aii.applicationsystem.serviceuser.language
    com.sap.aii.applicationsystem.serviceuser.name = XIAPPLUSER
    com.sap.aii.applicationsystem.serviceuser.pwd

  • Cannot update file created with iMovie Mavericks on YouTube. File format is unknown

I have just upgraded to iMovie Mavericks. I created a new movie and I am trying to upload it on YT. The direct upload using the share button in iMovie does not work (file format is not recognised). I then saved the file on the folder movies and tried to upload it on YT in this way, but again the format of the file is unknown and cannot be uploaded/played. Help please!!

Will your videos play in Quicktime 10 (the version in Mavericks)?  If yes, but after automatic conversion I think you can save the converted file and this will most likely be importable into iMovie.
If not there are lots of free and paid conversion apps.  I use the free MediaConverter a lot (http://media-converter.sourceforge.net)
The free app VideoSpec  (http://videospec.free.fr/english/) will show you the detailed format of your videos
Its a matter of trying out various formats until you find one that works - Unfortunately I have not seen a clear list of formats that are supported by iMovie 10.
