Unknown files being attached to outgoing mail

I recently sent an email to a friend who is on an AOL acct.
I attached a JPEG to the email, and that came across fine.
Also attached to the email were 4 .txt files (0001.txt, 0002.txt, etc)
These files contained 'gibberish' according to the recipient.
These files are not found on my computer.
Any idea how they got there and if this is preventable?

Most Mac files consist of two segments - a data fork and a resource fork. The resource fork for a Mac file is invisible to fellow Mac users but not to Windows users.

When using send Windows Friendly Attachments with the Mail.app, the resource fork for an attached file will not be available/shown to a Windows user.

If this does not remove all the additional files included with an attachment, try using Plain Text for message composition instead of Plain Text.

You will (often) see a preview of the attachment, depending upon the file type. To get rid of the preview: control click on the attachment select "View as icon".

You can't change it, and I suspect few email providers would allow a file that big. Consider uploading it to a service like Dropbox, then email the link allowing the recipient to download it.

I have called Microsoft Permium Support, base on the reply, SharePoint 2013 does not support to index a PDF file attachment in E-mail (msg) except 3rd party iFilter installed. And they finally told me how to edit Windows Registry for install the Adobe iFilter.
But, the Adobe iFilter is too weak to call large PDF files. So, I would like to install and try the Foxit PDF iFilter, but I cannot find an installation guide for this 3rd party ifilter with SharePoint 2013.
Does anyone here have the experience for Foxit PDF iFilter with SharePoint 2013 can help me?
I am not sure it is bug or feature in SharePoint 2013, but in case I still have to install 3rd party iFilter for index PDF file. I have no idea what is the out of box pdf file indexing support for.

1. We need to update registry for pdf . Registry value is {987f8d1a-26e6-4554-b007-6b20e2680632}
2. we need to install the foxit ifilter

Sending XML file as attachment in E-mail

Hi,
I'm facing a problem with sending e-mails with an XML-file as attachment. Scenario is as follows:
- I collect the payload from XI with FM 'SXMB_READ_MESSAGE_VERSION_RAW'.
- This payload is in the form of an xstring.
- I convert this xstring to binary content by using FM 'SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY'.

The itab lt_conhex is of type solix_tab.This is used finally to send the mail via class CL_BCS following normal procedures. Now when I open the e-mail with attachments I get the error that in the last line of my xml-file some squares are placed, which causes the document to open incorrectly. When I delete the squares via e.g. notepad and open my xml-file again in my internet browser, it opens correctly.
If I look at the contents of the solix_tab I see that the last line of the hexadecimal values are zero's, probably causing the XML file to be attached/oopened incorrectly. Is there any way to replace these zero's with some hexadecimal value in order to display my XML-file correctly?

Overlooked that parameter. Indeed if you take the XSTRLEN of the document and place this in the method for creating the attachment it works fine.

By the way...if you're dealing with PDF documents this documentlength doesn't matter.

Adding disclaimer file as an attachment on outgoing mail through Conversion

I'm using iMS 5.2 and i'm currently using the conversion channel to append a disclaimer to all outgoing messages (Internet only) but the boss would like to get the discloser in a text attachment instead of appended to the e-mail.
has anyone played with that?

Are you using the standad sap function module or using OLE objects to generate excel?
First try creating the excel file in foreground and see if the data is being populated.

How do I attach a file to my e-mail. I can attach a photo or video but I cannot attach a file!

You CAN attach a file to an email with an iOS device but NOT from within the mail app itself.
The 'send by email' option within 3rd party apps effectively attaches the file - if the developer has made this option available. Depends on the app.
But even if the app does t have that option, you may be able to open it in an app that does have that option.

Preventing files being attached in PM.

Firstly, I would like to prevent users from being able to attach files to equipment records, work orders etc. How can this be done?
Secondly, is it possible to prevent users from attaching files to pieces of equipment but allow them to attach URLs (using the 'Create external document (URL)' menu item)?
Basically my organisation would like to allow users to link to image files relating to equipment (which would be stored on a common drive) but not allow images to be uploaded to SAP.

HI,
Give the T-code authorization to display in the authorization role's menu add transaction.
System automatically asks you to edit the authorization and takes you to the DMS node of authorizations.
Here you can restrict as per the document type, plant etc .

Error while opening PDF attachment sent via mail

Hi,
I am attaching PDF file to PO in me22n and sending the same file as attachment in the mail to the vendor using class CL_BCS.
The mail is sent to the vendor successfully and they are able to successfully open the PDF attachment. But in some cases the mail is successfully received but while opening the attachment it is giving the error as file is corrupted.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

Hi,
I would like to know what font type, you are using in the forms.
Ideally it should be HELVETICA .
If you are using any other font in your style/form,try changing it to HELVETICA & Test.
Also Check the OTF data at the call of gen. FM,before converting it to PDF.

Is it safe to disable outgoing mail from one of my accounts?I

I have two e-mail accounts, but want to eventually stop using one of the accounts and use my gmail account full time.
Sometimes when I send e-mail it will use my old e-mail address as the sending address. I want to cease using the old e-mail address to send mail so it will decrease people replying to and using the old address.
How can I stop that address from being used for outgoing mails? Can I change to "None" for Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), or will that create problems for me?

You can use the Share button on Preview's toolbar. Choosing Email pops open Mail with the PDF already iconified as an attachment. If it doesn't behave this nicely for you, select the PDF in Mail and choose the right contextual menu, where you will find View as Icon. I also have Send Windows-Friendly attachments enabled.

Edit > Attachments > Insert Attachments at End of Message. If a new message is the active window, the option applies only to that message. If you don't have a new message open, then the option becomes Always Insert Attachments at End of Message.

Not able to send pdf file as attachment in my apple mail.

Hi, I was easily able to attach pdf files to my apple mail. infact I could just open a pdf file and then send it as attachment in the email earlier. but after downloading and upgrading to os X Mountain lion, I am neither being able to attach and send pdf files in my apple mail, nor can I send PDF file as an attachment.
Is there any issue with OS X Mountain Lion.
Issue 1. I compose Email , then click attach > Browse > select pdf file > click attach > it shows in my Email body either as an icon or as first page of the pdf document > I send it. >>> But when the receipient opens the Email, that pdf attachment is missing. In fact When I put a cc to my self and I open the Email, the attachment is mssing in the incoming E amil.
Issue 2. I open the PDF document > Click on File > send as attachment in E-Mail > on right, a menu appears where I select the File and click attach> I get a message

Adapter Module Error-Sending excel file as an attachment of the mail

My scenario is as follows
1)I am sending an excel file as an attachment of the mail.I need to read that excel attachment as a payload.
So mail adapter is used in sender side.
To configure this, have used standard PayloadSwapBean module with proper module key.
Next to convert excel to XML another custom adapter module is being used.
Both this adapter module , I configured into the CC of sender mail adapter.
The order in which adapter modules are being used in the sender CC are as follows
1)localejbs/AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean
2)localejbs/MDPExcelToXMLConversion
3)sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.mail.app/XIMailAdapterBean
MDPExcelToXMLConversion-Custom adapter module written to convert excel to xml.
I am getting the following error
exception caught during processing mail message [4899]com.sap.aii.af.lib.mp.module.ModuleException
And also,
no messages in coming MONI of PI.
Pls suggest what to do.

Will the ordering in which the adapter modules(In this case there are two-PayloadSwapBean & MDPExcelToXML) are appearing into Module tab of sender adapter matter?
Firstly, what is happenning
1)If I take out the custom adapter module MDPExcelToXML and put only PayloadSwapBean then it is successfully converting mail attachment into the main Payload i.e PayloadSwapBean module is working.
2)Nextly, my local code( i.e java code without including standard Module specific method like ejbActivate(),ejbPassivate(),process() etc etc.)) for MDPExcelToXML is successfuly converting the excel file into the XML file.Then I am making the local code into adapter module specific code and deploying that.
A few question arises here,
Do I need to do any specific configurations here in PI for this particular things.Maybe both the adapter module is clashing with each other.
And also using tracing and logging into my custom adapter module code.Getting the following error,
java.io.IOException: Unable to read entire header; 116 bytes read; expected 512 bytes#
