Unknown printing on my HP 7520.

The following are my complaints to Disney and their response to solve my problem. I am totally at a standstill, the only way I can prevent this anonomous printing to to ensure I turn off my Printer after it is used. I can continue to do that but sometimes I forget and here they come again.

I am unable to print using firefox message is "unknown printer error" No problem with other browsers

I tried to print a coupon from an e-mail and the message I got was "unknown printer error". I am able to print from word and other items on my desktop and also from another browser. Thanks it worked. Actually I tried that before I posted my question. I went back and rechecked and I had missed one item. Turns out it made a difference. I can now print my coupons.

Hitting print brings up a "save to" box with an xls extension which when clicked says "unknown printer error"

When I try to print from any website or email I get a dialogue box with an xls extension and I am directed to "save to" it. When I try to do that, I get "unknown printer error" and the Firefox shuts down.

Your mentioning of A4 is pretty much meaningless when you do not also mention the resolution.
In any case I suspect that gif is an inappropriate format for what you are trying to achieve.

Problem printing with HP Photosmart 7520 printer. Same bad result independent of advanced settings.

How can it be that, no matter what settings (advanced, custom, PS manages color, Printer manages color,...) I get the same terrible result for a reference photo (dull, colorless)? It is as if the PS CS6 is not controlling anything with these settings. Is there something else I need to set to make this work? (Old HP Photosmart 7960 works fine, but they stopped manufacturing new photo cartridges). The 7520 all-in-one makes copies of graphics with excellent, accurate color rendition so it is something with the settings for the printer. The device can print good color. HP support says its Photoshop settings. I don't know what it is.

Printing problems for photosmart 7520

I do not have my printer set up as wireless, because I do not have the equipment (router or modem or whatever it might be called) It is plugged into the back of my tower. I assume that means it is not set up as wireless. I only have one computer, no laptops or anything else.
I am not computer literate, I read several other questions and couldn't quite find my exact problem. I have no idea how to find an IP address either.
The printer used to work fine. The blue light always flashed - I assume because I don't have the wireless equipment
the power button next to that is a white color, doesn't change when I press it or when I unplug the cord from the tower.
UNABLE TO COMUNICATE OR FIND NETWORK PRINTER is the message I get. Can you have a network printer with only 1 computer in the house?
The touch screen is black and does not come on.
Windows 7 64 bit operating system
Not sure exactly what this is off back of printer: FPU CZ045-64004
I tried to install updated software, it didn't make any difference.
I installed the HP doctor thing - would not print test page, think I had to choose network or wireless and I don't think either of those apply.
The only thing that I think might have something to do with my problem is I installed a free AVG PC Tune up.
Any help would be appreciated. I am losing my patience, been at this for 4 hours now.

I understand that you are having an issue printing with you 7520. I would like to assist with this issue but I do need to clarify a couple of things first so that we are able to narrow down the issue.
First is the printer plugged directly to a wall outlet? If not please plug the printer direct to the wall outlet, so that the printer is getting the right amount of power to work properly.
Second the touch screen on the printer is this black or are you able to see the different icons when the printer is turned on?
Third to test the functionality of the printer, could please print a self test report from the printer itself. I have included a document Printing a Self Test From the 7520

Can't access or delete Print Apps on HP 7520 printer

When I try to access an app on my printer all I get is a message "Apps Updating" "The apps content is updating. You cannot access apps now. Please try later." When I go to HPConnected to try and remove apps, nothing shows up in My Printables. I really would like to get rid of them. I will never use them because I don't want my printer print out stuff on it's own. All they do is clutter up the screen and the buttons are so large you hit them by accident.
I really wish vendors would stop loading apps and things nobody wants aon their products. If I want it I,ll load it.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you would like to remove the Printables from your Photosmart 7520 printer.
If nothing is showing up in the My Printables in your HP Connected account are you trying to access them using a Safari browser? If so please try to access the printables from another browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome).
I have included the Remove ePrint and HP Printables in HP Connected document although it sounds like you are aware of the steps in it to remove the apps. Please note that removing the apps, will not change the layout of the screen, the space currently given to the apps will still remain dedicated to the apps.

Hyperlinked Pages Generate Unknown Printing Error

I'm working in a 300+ page catalog that I've never had problems with. Today it decided to give methe following error when trying to print or export to a PDF:
"Printing Error: The Adobe Print Engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown problem."
The error shows up when trying to print from seperate computers and from CS4 AND CS5. I've trouble shooted the advice found here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/332/332622.html but I think it's something else.
The odd thing is that I can print and export to PDF pages without hyperlinks or cross-sreferences. It's only when I try to print a hyperlinked page that I get the error. The only change I've made since the last time it printed/exported properly is adding a couple hundred more cross-references.
I'm on a tight deadline and right now I can't get my file out of InDesign. Anyone have ideas?

Trouble printing on hp photosmart 7520

I realize this issue is a frequent one, i hope i am not being thick. I have searched the forums here and tried everything I could find.
I cannot get my HP photosmart 7520 to print on photo paper. Yes I have selected photo paper in both the "page setup" and the "print setup" dialog boxes, but the printer continually defaults to the 8.5x11 paper.
Are there advanced settings i have not been able to locate? thanks in advance,

i'm sorry to not follow you.
in the print settings dialog box there is a "presets" option where I can select photo paper or plain paper.
In the bottom part of the print settings box I can select "paper type/quality", and I get an option for Source: automatic/main tray/photo tray. I select photo tray and save. i then print and it prints out of the main tray. I go back to the print setting box and the setting is on main tray even though i selected photo tray and saved it. i've tried this multiple times.
Is there another place to change settings?
Sorry if I am missing something.

Printer assistant on photosmart 7520

The printer assistant on my photosmart 7520 will not work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times with no luck. Everything elso seems to work fine and it works fine on my wife's wireless laptop, but not on my desktop.

Print negatives on photosmart 7520

I'm a recent owner of a Photosmart 7520 printer and I understand that you can print from negatives and slides. Is there anyone out there who can give me some pointers on where to begin? Do the negatives and slides have to be scanned?

Lost "Printer Assistant" for Photosmart 7520 - Windows Home 7 - 64bit.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled software from online (with original disc, as recommended). Still lost.

How to do two sided printing automatically with HP 7520 printer

All that I am trying to do is to make my printer do two sided or double sided printing. No matter what I check IT DOES NOT WORK. I checked "2-sided, 1 to 2, NOTHING. What amazes me is that this worked until recently and now it just will not do double sided printing. I am probably doing something wrong, but WHAT?

Generally speaking, duplex printing is accessed / adjusted from Printing Preferences.
If you are printing from within an application, for example, within Word or within your Browser, you might reach Printing Preferences from Print Preview.

Trying to print 4x6 photos on 7520, always gives no paper in tray message

I am trying to print 4x6 photos from my laptop. I have changed the preferences for the printer to "photo tray" and 4x6 photo paper. I keep getting the message "no paper in tray". The main tray is empty and I have 4x6 photo paper in the photo tray. What next?

the settings are correct. if I put paper in the main tray it prints the picture on paper, not photo paper. I printed a test page last night and it printed on the photo paper. I still get the same message when trying to print the photo. Thanks

Why do 4x6 photos not print from computer on 7520 HP printer

In settings I changed it to 4x6 photo paper and set it at that default. Then when I want to print from the 4x6 tray it tells me the tray is empty meaning the 8x11 tray is empty, which should be empty. It should switch to the 4x6 tray but it does not do that so therefore I can not print 4x6 photos. What else can I do? Am I missing something?

I found the answer to my own problem. Leave the paper in the bottom tray as well when one puts photo paper in the 4x6 tray. That is the reason it tells me my tray is empty when in fact the bottom 8x11 tray should have paper in it as well. Only the Settings need to be changed for 4x6 photo paper and then change it back to the 8x11 to letter paper.

Unknown Printer in print setup

When I setup my printer via USB connection there is another printer in the print browser list showing as a shared printer
and has a name and location.
My only connection is via broadband and I am not connected to any network.
When I switch the cable modem off it's gone.
Any help on this would great.
