UnKnown Runtime Error apex_3_1.js in IE

Hi ,
I have 2 OnLoad Javascript functions which is working perfectly fine in Firefox but throws the <b>UnKnown Runtime Error apex_3_1.js in IE </b>
in IE8.
I am not sure what exactly is causing this error, the scripts are as below :
function set_readonly()
for (var i = 0; i < document.getElementsByName('f07').length; i++)
//document.getElementsById('f07').value
var pk_id = document.getElementsByName('f05')[i];
var curr_id = document.getElementsByName('f07')[i];
var curr_id2 = document.getElementsByName('f10')[i];
var curr_id3 = document.getElementsByName('f11')[i];
var curr_id4 = document.getElementsByName('f12')[i];
var curr_id5 = document.getElementsByName('f13')[i];
     if ($x(pk_id).value == 2)
//alert(curr_id2.value);
          $d_ClearAndHide(curr_id);
          $x_Hide(curr_id2);
          $d_ClearAndHide(curr_id3);
$x_Hide(curr_id4);
$x_Hide(curr_id5);
     else
          $x_Show(curr_id);
          $x_Show(curr_id2);
          $x_Show(curr_id3);
$x_Show(curr_id4);
$x_Show(curr_id5);
function set_readonly2()
for (var i = 0; i < document.getElementsByName('f07').length; i++)
//document.getElementsById('f07')[i].value
     var pk_id = document.getElementsByName('f05')[i];
     var curr_id = document.getElementsByName('f07')[i];
     var curr_id2 = document.getElementsByName('f14')[i];
     if ($x(pk_id).value == 3)
          $d_ClearAndHide(curr_id);
$x_Hide(curr_id2);
I am calling these functions in the HTML body attribute as :
onload="javascript:set_readonly();set_readonly2();"
Has anybody faced a similar issue? Is there an error in one of my function calls ? appreciate any help in this regard.
Thanks,
Dippy

Hi,
That function not clear item value.
It clears dom node content as I understand.
Probably that is reason why it do not work correctly in your case.
look apex_3_1.js
function $d_ClearAndHide(pNd){
      if($x(pNd)){pNd=[pNd];}
      for(var i=0,len=pNd.length;i<len;i++){
           var lNode = $x(pNd);
          if(lNode){$x_Hide(lNode).innerHTML = '';}
     return;
You can use custom javascript in page HTML header example
function ClearAndHideItem(pNd){
  if($x(pNd)){
    pNd=[pNd];
  for(var i=0,len=pNd.length;i<len;i++){
    var lNode = $x(pNd);
if(lNode){
$x_Hide(lNode);
$x_Value(lNode, '');

  • IE7 Unknown runtime error

    Continuing on from my success, I thought I should try it in IE, and it fails when I click on the update button in the form that is loaded via xhr.
    All versions of IE give the same error message:

    My scripts:

  • Unknown Runtime Error/ Unbekannter Laufzeitfehler

    Hallo zusammen.

  • Spry data not displaying properly (IE Runtime Error)

    Built a few pages for a site using Spry to pull in some XML
    pages.
    They are supposed to update when a certain selection is
    chosen and it works flawlessly in Firefox, Opera and Safari but not
    in IE.
    IE just shows the SPRY placeholders and doesn't push any XML
    data into the fields.
    I tried to run the browser compatibility and cleaned up
    anything that may be affecting it but nothing is showing an error.
    The weird thing is, the page has a total of 585 lines but IE
    is saying there is an 'Unknown Runtime Error' on the page at Line:
    1163 Char: 4.
    does the browser continue to count lines as it pulls in
    additional information from attached files (like external css,
    javascripts, xml, etc.)?
    If so, how do I find out where the error is?
    i'm pounding my head against the wall trying to solve this,
    but i'm not having much luck.
    basically, i'm looking for two things:
    How to find the error in the code.
    How to FIX the code to work in IE.
    any help would be greatly appreciated.
    I posted this over in the DW forums, but thought it might be
    beter solved over here in the SPRY forums.
    TIA!

    repeat in the same tag.
    Fix that and then try it.
    How do I use both detail regions and master regions in a spry
    div then?
    my whole problem was, I couldn't get the menu items into the
    same table as the detail regions.
    If I put the whole table into a spry detail region it would
    just read the menu items as a detail region and give me static
    data. and if I did it as a standard region, the stuff I wanted to
    update wouldn't show as a detail region.
    I tried to keep them in <span> tags within the table
    but I guess IE doesn't like that.
    When I try to insert a detail region within an already
    existing DIV tagged spry region I get the DW error "
    Spry does not support nesting of spry:region blocks.
    Obviously, I must be missing something.
    it's been a long time since I built sites from scratch
    (99-00), but because my company asked, it is now my project.
    I have to relearn stuff and am not 100% familiar w/ building
    using DIV, SPAN and CSS. I have the basics; just enough to get me
    into trouble. maybe it's time to go back through the Spry
    Handbook?

  • Receive 'runtime error: Unknown exception' w/99% processed when creating DVD from movie

    Hi,
    I have tried several times to create a DVD of a movie with several Scene (w/Stop) Markers only to receive 'runtime error: Unknown exception' with 99% completion.
    I'm using Adobe Premiere Element 11 ver 11.0 (20120901.B261.425551).
    I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate w/SP1 on a Dell XPS M1530 w/4GB Memory
    I have created DVDs in the past with little or no problems.
    Would appreciate any help with my problem.
    Thanks...

    Harry
    Thanks for the additional information.
    Typically, if you are doing a multi movie Timeline and you want the viewer to be able to navigate to a specific movie followed by return to main menu, then:
    Main Menu Marker at beginning of movie 1 and Stop Marker at end of movie 1....then gap of at least 12 frames...Main Menu Marker at beginning of movie 2 and Stop Marker at end of movie 2....and so on. But for the last, remember no Stop Marker at the end of that last Movie on the Timeline.
    With those 25 .mts video clips, are you sure that you want or need all those return to main menu possibilities.... a scene marker at the beginning of each and a stop marker at the end of each for a return to menu after each of the 25 video clips? Especially if these are small video clips.
    Large project...
    Keep in mind that the DVD disc 4.7 GB/120 minutes is in reality 4.3 GB capacity. So as you can tell my the program's lowering of the Bitrate (8.00 to 7.97 Mbps), the program is trying to make the fit by lowering the bitrate. Depending on how your troubleshooting goes, you may want to start thinking about DVD Double Layer Disc (8.5 GB/240 min) if your project gets much larger. In the case of the DVD double layer, 8.5 GB is in reality 7.3 GB. Typically, lower the Bitrate, the lesser is the Quality of the end product. So you do not want to force the program to lower the Bitrate to low to make the fit.
    As for the Timeline - + slider to which I referred...
    In the above screenshot, please note in the right side of the Premiere Elements 11 Timeline (Expert view)...from left to right at that location,
    the Render Button
    the icon named "Fit to Visible Timeline
    the icon named Zoom Out ( - ) which is related to the slider to its right
    the icon named Zoom In ( +) which is related to the slider to its left
    That slider is moved by either of those icons or by moving the circular button of the slider with the mouse curser.
    We will be watching for further developments.
    Thanks.

  • I'm getting "runtime error: unknown exception" when burning DVDs on PE12

    I'm getting "runtime error: unknown exception" when burning DVDs on PE12

    Some of this may be for Premiere Pro, but SHOULD also help with Premiere Elements
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-c-runtime-errors-products.html
    Also http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632 for a Microsoft download
    Also search http://search.microsoft.com/search.aspx?mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US for Microsoft help articles
    Set your Premiere Elements DVD output to a folder on your hard drive and then use the FREE Imgburn to burn the folder to disc for DVD... Premiere Elements does NOT burn to a folder for BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
    Read http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1322583 for notes on installing Imgburn WITHOUT any toolbar add-ons... Set Imgburn to use the slowest burn speed your drive and media will use... I set my burn speed to 1x and let Imgburn adjust to the actual minimum

    Runtime Error While Executing Command "SchemeMeasStar"
    Error Type: UNKNOWN
    Error Address:00001720

    a runtime error occurred while executing the inquiry. i know there used to be bugs on this but.

    I removed my deployments from the remote OC4J server and removed deployment entries from http-web-site.xml and server.xml. I redeployed my simpleJSP bibean application to my local and remote OC4J server. It works locally but fails now with this new error:

  • Runtime error : MESSAGE_TYPE_UNKNOWN

    We hv Solution Manager 3.2 in our scenario. Iam working on the feature Project Preparation ,in the transaction solar_project_admin inorder to create project views when i generate the IMG for logical component in Development system
    iam getting dump MESSAGE_TYPE_UNKNOWN,the detailed error message is as follows:
    <b>
    Runtime errors         MESSAGE_TYPE_UNKNOWN
           Occurred on     09.02.2007 at   12:44:06
    Message type " " is unknown.
    What happened?
    Error in ABAP application program.
    The current ABAP program "SAPLPROJECT_ADMINISTRATION" had to be terminated
    because one of the
    statements could not be executed.
    This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
    What can you do?
    Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
    and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
    error.
    To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
    You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
    termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
    date.
    is especially useful if you want to keep a particular message.
    Error analysis
    Only message types A, E, I, W, S and X are allowed.
    There is probably an error in the program
    "SAPLPROJECT_ADMINISTRATION".
    How to correct the error
    Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.
    You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
    in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
    use the following search criteria:
    "MESSAGE_TYPE_UNKNOWN" C
    "SAPLPROJECT_ADMINISTRATION" or "LPROJECT_ADMINISTRATIONU05"
    "SPROJECT_SEND_MESSAGE"
    If you cannot solve the problem yourself, please send the
    following documents to SAP:
    1. A hard copy print describing the problem.
       To obtain this, select the "Print" function on the current screen.
    2. A suitable hardcopy prinout of the system log.
       To obtain this, call the system log with Transaction SM21
       and select the "Print" function to print out the relevant
    3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
    supply the source code.
    To do this, you can either use the "PRINT" command in the editor or
    print the programs using the report RSINCL00.
    4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
    or which actions and input led to the error.
    </b>
    Can somebody plz help me out with resolving this issue,how to tasolve it? My Email Id is [email protected]  .Requested to revert at earliest
