Unkown error -39

Whenever I try to sync my iPhone I always get an error message saying "...'s iPhone cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (39)."
Any idea what this is?

I did a quick google on +iphone error 39+.
Try a hard reset. If that doesn't work, try a restore.

  • Unkown error while updating to ios8 or restoring

A few days ago my Iphone 5 screen went black and would not turn on or anything but it would still vibrate and if i held down the home button the little siri sound would go off. This had happened once before a short while ago and i just let the phone die all the way then charged it and it worked fine so that's what i did this time. When it came back on this time though, it was still just black but it would also be flashing the apple logo. I tried a bunch of things that people were suggesting online and watched youtube vidoes but nothing seemed to work, also every once in a while it would go to the lock screen and i swiped and pushed home and stuff and nothing would happen it just said it was searching where it would usually say verizon. Once while the screen was doing this i held power and the home button which is what many of these youtube videos said to do and it worked, telling me to connect it to itunes for the recovery process. Once it was connected to itunes i tried to update it to ios8 and it seemed to be working at first but then it said unkown error and when i tried to restore it the same thing happened, i tried both of these multiple times with the same result. The nearest apple store is an hour away and i don't have a driver license so that's really a last resort for me, i'm hoping someone knows whats gonig on with my phone.

when it provide an unknown error it usually give an error number too

Macafee security center is may be the culprit.
    Open Macafee then: select;
    Internet & Network > configure
    Firewall > Advanced
Programm Permissions > scroll down to Itunes
    Highlight (click on)
Then Grant full access to Itunes.
    APPLY then OK
When you select store from Itunes you will need to register with Itunes.
    Try that or:
    Disable your firewall.

  • "The iPod cannot be updated. An unkown error occured. (-36)"

Hi, can someone help me with this? I've been browsing troubleshooter and topics for days and yet I can't figure out how to fix this one. This occured when I've got my computer reformatted and installed a new iTunes. I can't put anything on my iPod shuffle. The message "The iPod cannot be updated. An unkown error occured. (-36)" keeps on showing everytime I try to put songs on my iPod. I don't know what triggered this. Hope someone could shed some light. Thanks in advance!!

It is actually more simple than iTunes lets u believe.
If you just download an older version of iTunes, most likly the one u had before u updated ur computer, that should fix it and then you can update ur ipod and then get the newer version of iTunes.
Thats what i had to do when i got that exact same error just a few months ago.
If that dont work let me know.

Using a Mac, OSX 10.6.8; My internet connection is working properly, I can reach all sites via browser, yet I get the following message in iTunes:  "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. An unkown error occurred (-54)."

I have the same issue with almost exactly the same environment...
    iPhone4S (32GB) running iOS5.0
    Windows 7 Enterprise
    iTunes 10.5.2.11
iPhone has been set up to wirelessly sync when on charge yet I get this error when the iPhone is not even charging!
I work for a mobile network operator and although this isn't something we support anyway, we would usually stumble across something like this when customers call us for advice prior to contacting the manufacturer for support, yet this hasn't been a call driver so I'd imagine this is isolated... (either that or not many people have updated their device and set up the wireless sync lol)...
    Hey Apple! Any ideas? :-)

As a test, tell Encore to create an ISO on your hard drive, then use the free http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write to disc
If that works, the problem is some other software that is "hijacking" your burner so Encore can't properly "talk" to it to burn

  • Itunes store: We could not complete your iTunes Store Request. An unkown error occured (0x800B0109). There was an error in the itunes store. Please try again later. This always comes up when i try to either purchase items or get updates, please help

When i go into the iTunes store and try to update apps or buy apps/songs a window pops up stating:
"We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unkown error has occured (0x800B0109)"
"There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."

  • Why do I keep getting an Unkown error when trying to update apps?

    Hi,
When I try to update applications from the Mac App Store, I continouly get a message coming up saying an Unkown Error has occured and I should try again later (4).
    Please Help!

    Hi ...
Installing the OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo) reinstalls the App Store for you which may help. Restart your Mac after the combo is installed.
It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.7.3.
If that doesn't help, if you have anti virus software installed, disable that.
If you have an app called LIttle Snitch installed, that can prevent apps from updating.

  • The iTunes application could not be opened. An unkown error occurred (-50).

I was using iTunes with Windows 7 without problem. I recently updated to the latest version of iTunes (Version 9.2?) and now everytime I try to start up iTunes I get the message "The iTunes application could not be opened. An unkown error occurred (-50)." I tried everything in the Online help section of the Apple website for Windows 7, including "repair", deleteing iTunes and reinstalling, and nothing works. What is going on? Does anybody else have this problem?

Thanks. I actually looked at some of your previous advice on problems with Windows 7 and I disconnected my computer to wired and wireless networks, closed all programs, started CHKDSK and rebooted the computer and that solved the problem. iTunes is running perfectly so far. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention when CHKDSK finished and didn't get to see the report so can't let you know what it actually did, but it accomplished what all the the other solutions I tried did not (set up new user account, remove/replace preferences, remove/replace libraries. remove/reinstall iTunes, etc.).
Thanks again for your attention to this issue.

  • The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. An unkown error occurred [-1450]

Has anyone encountered the following iTunes error,
" The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. An unkown error occurred [-1450] "
Whenever I shut my iTunes down the next time I start it up the library seems to be lost. I can do an Add Folder to Library from the File options, pick my iTunes Music folder and copy everything back in. However the whole repeats when I close iTunes down again. Have tried re-installing iTunes but this did not work.
    Has anyone got any suggestions,
    Thanks.

    == Error -54 ==
From an OS9 reference, error -54 is a software lock on a file or a permissions error. (Some of the old codes still apply to OSX although there is no formal list of OSX error codes.)
First, try simply restarting your computer.
iTunes Library cannot be saved (Error -54) - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1912814
Unknown error (-54) while syncing ipod - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1082953 - problem was locked files
Why does iTunes keep showing a -54 error when I sync my iPad? - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3727114
Error -54 possibly related to Touch Copy - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3727114 - cleared by deleting preferences on iPad.

  • The ipod could not be restore. an unkown error occurred (1437).

the ipod could not be restore. an unkown error occurred (1437).

It doesn't specify "1437," but since this happens during a Restore, try the suggestions in this document
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1372
If your shuffle is 3rd or 4th gen, you can ignore the bit about the iPod Reset Utility.  That only applies to 1st and 2nd gen shuffles.
