Unlimited plan for iPad 2 in Puerto Rico?

Well I want to know if I can get unlimited plan for my iPad 2 in puerto rico, because is not a option when I try to get it, just the option of 250MB and the other of 2GB, anyone know what I need to do to get the unlimited?

Totally different device.
It was the choice of the wireless provider, not Apple. If you want to email them about it they probably have a complaint link at their websites.
Plus, you can't get unlimited data on the iPhone anymore. Both AT&T and Verizon stopped offering it.

  • Goodbye unlimited data for IPad 3G customers.  Welcome to AT&T after June 7

    http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=17991&cdvn=news&newsarticleid=30854&mapcod e=financial%7CWireless
For new iPad customers, the $25 per month 2 GB plan will replace the existing $29.99 unlimited plan. iPad customers will continue to pre-pay for their wireless data plan and no contract is required. Existing iPad customers who have the $29.99 per month unlimited plan can keep that plan or switch to the new $25 per month plan with 2 GB of data.
    http://www.macrumors.com/
"AT&T also announced that they have changed the iPad 3G data plan for new customers after June 7th.
At present, AT&T offers a no-contract $29.99/month unlimited data plan specifically for iPad owners. If you activate your data plan before June 7th, you can still participate in this plan. After June 7th, however, AT&T will be replacing that plan with a $25/month 2GB limited plan. From the press release:
For new iPad customers, the $25 per month 2 GB plan will replace the existing $29.99 unlimited plan. iPad customers will continue to pre-pay for their wireless data plan and no contract is required. Existing iPad customers who have the $29.99 per month unlimited plan can keep that plan or switch to the new $25 per month plan with 2 GB of data.
So, if this is an issue for you, you still have time to be grandfathered into the unlimited data plan. Existing iPad customers can look at their current data usage via their iPad settings."

    Got this off of cnet.com:
    http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-20006534-1.html
“But nobody will be forced to switch. If users are happy with their current plan then they can keep it, which we expect many to do. In fact, AT&T tells us, *"[Users] are not required to switch to the new plans if they renew their contract or switch to another smartphone.* However, if they switch to one of the new plans, they will not be able to go back to their old unlimited plan." The only downside is that legacy iPhone plans won't get tethering, so there are some things to consider for some.”
Hopefully that will remain the case. I have unlimited on both my iPhone and iPad and like the freedom of watching as many videos and surfing the net as much as I want. On TUAW the article was saying it was likely that AT&T would force those "grandfathered" into changing to a new data plan when they renewed. The above article pretty much says that AT&T is claiming that whether we renew or switch to another smartphone and don't switch data plans that we should be ok.
    I'll keep my fingers crossed!

  • Unlimited plan on iPad 3G

I ordered my iPad on May 24, and received it today, June 7. It did indeed offer me the option to choose the $29.99 unlimited plan, which I promptly did!
Evidently, the info posted on the Apple Store site about ORDERING before June 6 was a fact. I was afraid that I would have had to ACTIVATE the iPad prior to June 6 for the unlimited plan to be available.
Just my personal experience, and I hope this answers some concerns that some have had about the availability of the unlimited plan.

Still waiting for the unlimited data plan. After not hearing back from AT&T I contacted Apple Support again today.
I was then transferred to a person at AT&T that was suppossed to help me. The person at AT&T tried several things but then came back and said nothing would work and I would have to take one of the new plans.
Absolutely not, I bought the more expensive IPad 3G on May 21, 2010 specifically for the unlimited data plan not the new plans.
I cannot believe it has been 3 days since I recieved my IPad 3G and I still have yet to have this issue resolved especially considering that Apple's own website states:
*What are the 3G data plan options from AT&T?*
*There are two monthly data plans: 250MB or 2GB. Customers who order iPad from the Apple Online Store by June 6th will also qualify to purchase an unlimited monthly plan. There’s no contract, and you can sign up and change your service right on your iPad. In addition, AT&T data plans include unlimited access to over 20,000 Wi-Fi hotspots at locations including Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, and more.*
    Unbelieveable!

  • IPad Availability in Puerto Rico

Hi there, is any way for us to know when the iPad is going to be at our local dealers? I have to keep visiting the Best Buy store and ask every time the same thing and they don't know when they are going to have it in store. This is an issue cause we were waiting for this device to come and they sold everyone of them, good for them but, when are going to be available again?
Hope someone can answer me to see if I can wait or I should be thinking on getting something similar to enhance my studying.
    Thanks.

I am amazed, but I just looked and Apple's online store won't ship to Puerto Rico even though it's in the US. They tell you they'll be happy to ship it to a friend or family member in the "50 states" for you, which may or may not help -- if you have someone you can ship it to who can forward it to you. Otherwise you can't even order it from Apple. Bizarre but true.
So you may just have to wait, yes.

  • Would you recommend the AppleCare plan for iPad?

    Hello, All
I got an iPad for Christmas (my first Apple product), and I'm trying to decide whether to buy the AppleCare plan for it.
Does anyone have any experience with using the AppleCare plan, or getting support for a broken iPad without the plan? Would you recommend getting it?

In the past, with computers that could be opened and fixed by replacing parts, a service plan was not particularly advantageous for those who could swap out a dead HD and put in a new one. When laptops arrived, many thought that since it was a "closed system", it would be best to get a contract. I'd say with the iPad, it's really a closed system for most of us, and buying a plan may be as prudent as for laptops - but then there's the price to consider, given the price of the iPad. I think you can buy a plan anytime before the original warranty expires, so you could hold off.

  • Adding a line to Unlimited plan for iPhone 5?

    Hi All!
I have a question - I've seen a few posts throughout the forum alluding to this, but I wanted a clear answer for my situation.
Currently we have a Nationwide talk & text plan with 700 minutes and unlimited data (3 lines). 2 of the lines are eligible for an upgrade currently, however we will have to pay full price to get the iPhone 5 and hold onto data.
I've seen a few posts alluding to "adding" lines for the iPhone 5....could we Add a new line to the Nationwide plan and get the iPhone 5 at a subsidized price, or will we still have to 1) pay full price, or 2) be forced onto Share Everything?
Also, will the iPhone 4 (which is now free) be able to add to unlimited data for free? Or will that be full priced too? Just curious....

I can address your concerns about activating your new phone, pfrigoli! You have the option of adding a new line of service to your current Nationwide Plan. You would need to choose a tiered data plan. The options are 2GB, 5GB or 10GB.
In regards to the iPhone 4, if you accept a discount you would not be able to keep unlimited data. I hope this addresses all of your concerns.

The iPad required a mifi or wifi hotspot to connect to internet through VZW. The iPhone's data package would only be available for the iPhone alone. The iPad 2 will likely require a Mobile Broadband plan.

  • AT&T vs Verizon Data Plan for iPad 2 - Activation Fees?

I heard that Verizon has a $35 activation fee everytime you activate the data plan. Is this true?
I am trying to get one where I can activate on a month-to-month basis as I please without paying an activation fee each time. I know that this is the case for AT&T. If Verizon has the activation fee, then this is an easy decision.
    Thanks!

I think the Verizon website is misleading. There is no mention of activation fees, but according to almost every reputable source the fee exists.
I wrote to Verizon customer service earlier in the week to find out from the source. I asked:
    "IF I purchase the Verizon 3G iPad2:
    1. Will I be able to activate/deactivate Verizon service as needed?
    2. Is there an activation fee? If so, how much?
    3. Is the activation fee charged each time service is activated and/or
deactivated? If not, when exactly is the fee charged?"
    They answered:
"You may disconnect the device at anytime. However, if the disconnect is after the 14-day Worry Free Guarantee return/exchange timeframe, then you are liable for an early termination fee. The early termination fee is prorated based on how much of the contract has been completed.
Yes, there is an activation fee for all new lines of service. In your case, the activation fee would be $35. This applies each time that a line activation is requested."
That reads to me as a $35 fee every time you activate service, be it every other month, every three months or whatever.
It may not be a problem for some, but this is a dealbreaker for me. I am getting the AT&T iPad2. It is unfortunate that one iPad cannot handle both services, as that would promote competition.

  • Can I buy a cellar plan for ipad

I bought my ipad 2 months ago, is it to late to buy a cellar plan?

If you have a WiFi-only model, your only options would be to obtain a MiFi device, basically a WiFi-to-cell bridge,  from a cell carrer, or tether your iPad to a cell phone that offers such capability and service.
You posted in the iPod touch forum, by the way.
    Regards.

Skype has a subscription for unlimited calling to Israeli landline phones, but not for Israeli mobile phones.  Please click on the "Subscriptions" link near the bottom of this web page, then enter Israel on the next page, to see the subscription options.

  • How do I get a data plan for my iPad in Paris?

I'm travelling to Paris at the end of the month and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the names of carriers that sell SIM card data plans for iPads, and if there are any special things to be aware of.

I know with a new iPad it is usually a simple matter to use the Settings app on the iPad.
Settings > Cellular Data > there's a link to set up your account.
If it doesn't show call your carrier and ask to set up an account there.
If you want to have your iPad share an account with your cell phone call your carrier.
