Unlimited version BUT - How many Admin macs can I install it on ???

I've had some input from a colleague and I think it's wrong.
We have 1 copy (maybe 2) of ard V2 Unlimited version.
My colleague has been told by our supplier that we can put it on as many macs as we want seeing it's "Unlimited" BUT...
It means to me Unlimited Clients only and I would need to buy a copy for each ADMIN mac I want to put it on ! ???
Am I correct here ?

One other thing you may or may not be able to help with, otherwise I'll chuck another topic up...
We got thru our "test" network all the way and I had to use IP's to connect, would there possibly be a port not open (I thought I'd got the 3 of them) because I could see the IP's but not the share names as I do on the local network.
Have I missed something or is this not possible ? - We'll be DHCP'ing the end machines (currently Static), so their IP's would change but their Share Names would remain the same...
We'll just have to ask the end users their IP's instead of machine names we do with the PC's and local macs.

no, that's incorrect.
you can activate on 1 mac and 1 pc, or 2 pc's, or 2 mac's, concurrently.
i have cc installed on 2 pcs and 1 mac. i can only activate 2 at any one time which works well for me because my pcs are at home and my office and i use them most of the time.
but when i travel i take my macbook so i just deactivate one or both of my pcs (uninstalling is not needed) and sign in to my macs cc app.

Kappy, I believe that he's asking about Snow Leopard, not Lion. Your answer would be correct in reference to Lion purchased from the Mac App Store, but not Lion shipped as original OS on a new Mac.
derojas, assuming you have a standard OEM, it-came-with-the-computer Snow Leopard installer, you are licensed to use it only on that one computer. You are not licensed to install it on any others. Many OEM discs can install only on the specific hardware model with which they shipped, anyway.
If you have a standard retail installer, it's technically possible to install it on any Mac capable of running Snow Leopard. However, again, the license grants you the freedom to install it on only one Mac at a time (i.e. you'd have to delete it from one Mac before you could install it on another).
There are family packs and other multi-licensing arrangements that permit the owner to install Snow Leopard on more than one Mac. You need to check the license to find out how many and what other restrictions might apply.

Theoretically as much as you want but there are technical limitations about the usable bandwidth in the wireless or by the used access point.
All participants (stations) in a wireless network share the available bandwhith equally and therefore a point will get reached where the throughput in the network became insufficient to stream music.
Also some routers limit the number of stations could get connected. For instance Apples Airport Extreme have a limit of 50 connected clients and the AP-Express (if used as access point) a limit of 10 simultaneous connections.

What are referring to here as "OC clusters"? By any chance, are you referring to Oracle Clusterware? If yes, you can install only one Oracle Clusterware in a cluster, and I don't think there is a hard limit on number of databases it can support as far it is not constrained by the OS resources and the entries it can make in the OCR.
Can i share single VG & LV to manager two OC clusters each with one RAC Database.Since you can not install more than one Clusterware on a cluster, this question doesn't arise.

How many hard drives can i install in my mac pro

How do I know what size hard drives I can install? I currently have 4 x 2TB drives installed and am looking to go bigger. 4 x 4TB would be ideal and if you have suggestions on which drives might give me best performance for HD video editing that would be nice too.
Also can I install more RAM?

Have the SIIG Serial ATA 4 Channel PCI-M card running one 250GB HDD at the present with 1 running off the original system bus. How many can I add total to this system? Owners manual states I can run only 2 total in this machine. Is it true that now I can add a large HDD to the original bay without using the SIIG card and whole capacity will be recognized?

You should be able to install four hard drives fairly easily.
You can physically fit four into the case, one in the front bay, one in the middle bay and two in the rear bay (one on top of the other in the U shaped bracket).
Assuming you don't have a Zip drive installed, you have the Molex power connectors for four drives, although you may need an extension cable so the power connector that's intended for the Zip drive will reach one of the hard drives. If you do have a Zip drive installed, you'd need a splitter cable to power two drives off one cable.
You have the data connectors for at least four drives. Two ATA drives can be connected to the onboard ATA controller and four SATA drives can be connected to the SATA PCI card (assuming it's a four port version).
The capacity limitation still applies to drives connected to the onboard ATA controller via the ribbon cable. Large drives can be added to any bays, but they must be connected to the PCI card for the full capacity to be recognised.
The manual probably says two ATA drives can be installed (using the onboard ATA controller) or three SCSI drives can be installed (using the supplied SCSI PCI card if relevant). There's no reason why you can't add additional drives using a SATA PCI card.

i've kept this great old machine on the shelf, now i've found a use for it! i've been programming video installations for theatre using isadora (on more modern machines) and would love to utilize my old G4. currently installed is the stock card with a VGA and an ADC output, and i've run 2 monitors off it in the past. i'd like to run my ADC powered 17" studio display (control screen) plus at least 2,3 or more video projectors, so i'd like to install an additional video card(s). ideally VGA or DVI, but s-video or even component could work- it doesn't need to be high definition. can this machine handle it, and if so, recommendations for a good card, or multiple cards? i have several open slots, how many is feasable to stack in there?

Remember that video cards use the most power of any PCI cards. There is usually a finite limit to how much power the computer's PCI bus can provide.
I don't know the limimts on the QS, but the old Beige G3s has a limit of 45W total across three slots--I doubt it's a lot more on yours. The assumption back then was that most PCI vidcards then drew 25W. Unlike newer cards that have power "taps" top allow direct connection to the power supply, older PCI vidcards seldom had this convenience. I have a radeon 9200 and it does not.
The 9200 had a lot of VRAM but did not support Apple's Quartz Extreme video technology. Although great for 3D stuff, its 2D performance in OSX was dismal, with scrolling and dragging being choppy. You do not want that card as you primary video source on a computer with AGP graphics. There was a hack to get around the QE issue but it seldom worked without issue if you had more that one PCI card of any kind.

I have a MSI 790FX-GD70 AM3 motherboard ordered with an AMD Phenom II X4 965 processor to upgrade my current machine.
In my current machine I have two ATA drives. Will I be able to install both of those ATA drives on that MSI 790FX-GD70 AM3 motherboard or will it accept only one?
I plan on replacing one of the ATA drives with a SATA drive later, but I'd like to hold off until after Christmas. If not, I'll just have to get by with one drive for a while.

How many ipods, iphones can i install apps or movies?

I have an iphone (3g) and a ipod Touch. I have same apps and movies purchased from itunes on both the iphone and ipod.
I decided to give my ipod Touch to my girlfriend (since I don't use it as much). She wants to use it on her pc, so she will be buying her own movies and apps in the future.
My question is will MY movies and apps work fine on the ipod once she starts using it as her own on her pc?
I'd like to keep my apps and movies, my girlfriend wants keep my apps and movies as well!
I worried, the apps and movies can only be used on one iphone or ipod at a time.

i was just wondering if the 2013 imac 27" came with two hard drive bays?
when looking through the specs there no longer seems to be an option to have an ssd, as well as, a standard internal hd (only fusion drives/??)
