  • How can I send SMS from email through iMS5.2

    there is a way for sending SMS through iMS5.2 but i do not know how?Is there any need for SMPP server or any gateway for sending SMS.I know about the rewrite rule to be include in imta.cnf file but I want to know the steps for configuring the iMS5.2 for sending SMS.is there any SMPP server(SMSC) that needs to be separately installed

    IMS 5.2 supports one way SMS, however, you must have access to the SMSC's SMPP server. The server must support SMPP V3.4 over TCP/IP and there must be TCP/IP connectivity between the host running iMS and the SMPP server.
    You also have to configure a SMS channel in iMS, then it is merely a matter of sending a mail message to the address associated with that channel.
    The documentation for how to do that can be found at http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/messaging/technotes/5.2sms.html which is reached from the "related links" at the bottom of the messaging documentation web site http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/messaging.html#related, and then select "Technical Notes and Examples". Note SMS is supported, the doc just didn't make it into the regular set.

  • How to respond to SMS sent from Email?

    Hello
    When I was on verizon I could send an SMS to an email address, and also if I received an SMS (to [email protected]) I could respond to it. Does anyone know if you can respond to an email sent to your cingularme.com address, it only comes up as from 1 (010) 100-004 which you cannot reply to. If no, then why did they do it this way? Is it iPhone or AT&T?

    Agreed that this is not only an annoyance but also hinders productivity. I receive pages from work, which are aliased to <my_number>@cingularme.com. I would like to use my iPhone to respond to the pages, which means that I can integrate 'To' and 'CC' into replies. My BlackBerry with Verizon service made use of SMS in this way. Since SMS is a standardized protocol, this does appear to be a limitation of AT&T service; rather, it appears that Apple has chosen to simplify the capabilities of iPhone's SMS, dressing it with the familiar iChat interface (which has also been vastly simplified from OS X).

  • [iphone] sms or email from app

    does the iphone support sending sms or email messages from the SDK? I can't find it in the docs. I need to also pre-populate the message but let the user pick the contact.
    From what I gather by googling, the email piece might be possible, but the SMS doesn't let you pre-populate. But I'm not sure...
    any help/links would be appreciated.
    thanks
    phil

    NSString *url = @"mailto:[email protected]"];
    [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:url]];
    I think you use sms: for sending sms, but I can't confirm at the moment.

  • Subject: Integrating SMS and Email Notifications

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to integrate our email notification system with some sort of SMS messaging system and I've a couple of questions
    1. Is it free to send the SMS from my java application...
    2. If I'm using smslib and GSM modem......who pay's for the SMS message here in the United States.....I know in Ireland its only the receiver who pay's but here it's both the sender and receiver pay when it's mobile to mobile
    3. This will be my first time doing anything like this, so and advice, code snippets or pointer would be really appreciated
    Thanks in advance
    f

    SMS email gateways are usually free to send to, but be aware that they may shut you off if you spam users.
    As for the recipient, I think the SMS goes against the recipient's allowed number of messages in his calling plan, but that really depends on the nature of the agreement between the recipient and the telco. If it goes over the allowed number of messages for the recipient, then he will be charged whatever rate is in the agreement.

  • Sms-to-email problem with plugin

    Hi!
    2004Q2
    We have configured email-to-sms and it works good, but sms-to-email is giving us headache. This is the plugin error that we get:
    plugin_thread(1644): Returned from plugin; plugin returned 69 (SUBMIT_SM or SUBMIT_MULTI command failed (ESME_RSUBMITFAIL)); errmsg="Zero length SMS message; cannot extract addressing information"
    I would appreciate any help.
    Cheers,
    Adnan

    Can you point to the part of the doc where it says that?
    If we send a SMS in wrong format like:
    "Hello World!"
    we get plugin error:
    "Zero length SMS message; cannot extract addressing information"
    but as soon as we send it in right format:
    "local-part@domain (subject) body text"
    smpp_gateway_server process crashes without any error repoort. We tried sending SMS in us-ascii and utf-8 but the results are the same.
    Cheers

  • Composing SMS from Contact List

    I have a Blackberry Pearl 8100 and when I go into my contact list and select a name to SMS and then add another recepient to send the same message to it comes up with first person I selected to SMS again i.e. I picked Wendy first and added Brian to send the same message to, yet it shows Wendy's name twice. Yet, when I go to check the two mobile ph#'s that I'm sendin the SMS to, they are different as I expect. Also, if I save the SMS as a draft, and I open it up again in my email inbox it displays Wendy & Brian's name correctly. Furthermore, if I compose a SMS from my email inbox I don't get the problem I've mentioned above. Is there a way to solve this?

  • Help!! Which java jar do I need to send SMS from PC to movil

    I would like to know what do I need to be able to send SMS from my Pc
    Is there a jar to do so.
    I would realy appreciate if someone gives me a clue about sending SMS.
    My e-mail is: [email protected]
    Thank you very much

    Do you have the hardware in place to interface and talk directly with the communication systems of the telecom companies?
    I seriously doubt it. So, all you can do is send email messages to their email address assigned to their mobile phone, provided the carrier offers that. Most ofen the form is <phonenumber>@<mobile.carrier.isp>

    Hi Guys,
    My iPhone is stuck in a mode where it thinks the headset is still plugged in.
    I cant get any sounds through the speaker. Cant hear sms or emails arrive. If the phone rings i hear it but pple cant hear me or i cant hear them.
    The phone works fine with the headphones plugged in.
    I have tried all the usual solutions, inserted and removed the headset (at least 50 times)
    Soft reboot
    full restore
    Nothing seems to work. I have searched on this and it seems to be a well know issue but there doesnt seem to be any firm solutions that i can find to fix the problem

    If no change after inserting and removing the headset at least 50 times, powering the iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset, and restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem.
    Make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

  • HT204053 I don't want to receive any SMS from Apple. Could you remove my cell number from your list.

    I don't want to receive any SMS from Apple. Could you remove my cell number from your list?

    It's been suggested that somehow you may have emails being routed to your SMS, which is passing marketing emails from Apple to your text messaging. Go here:
    http://mynews.apple.com/ca/subscribe
    and unsubscribe and see if the SMS messages then stop. You can also check your Apple ID:
    https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
    and make the change there if you are subscribed.

  • Recover deleted sms from Nokia 6288

    Is there any way to recover a deleted sms from a Nokia 6288, i´ve heard of third party software to undelete sms that are removed, but is that possible at all?
    Where is the sms inbox stored in the first place on this phone, on sim-card och in phone-memory. And is there any way to change this and store it on memorycard??
    All answers appreciated

    It really depends where you set up your sms, phone or extrenal memory. I know of a third party software could undelete files(incl. sms) on mem card but on phone memory I haven't seen one.
    sms txt messages is somewhat the same as email messages its not an individual files but inside a dbase type of files where it is located, you have to open the dbase file first before you can see each individual messages or email.Message Edited by android on 27-Oct-200701:45 PM

  • Curve 8300 - Can't send SMS messages - Email set up?

    Hi, my dad has an old Blackberry curve 8300 that was a work phone, it is unlocked and can make and receive calls, and receive sms messages, however I cannot get it to send sms messages.
    Is this because he never set up an email address with the Blackberry?
    It won't let me enter a personal email address, Is this because it was his work phone and is there any way to change this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi dave12384
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
    As it was Work Phone it might have some IT policy enabled on it as a result you may not be able to use those feature .
    SMS is Emails service are both different , One comes under Voice level and another under Data Level Services .In order to enjoy Email services on  legacy BlackBerry devices we need BlackBerry Data Plan . When we activate those Data Plan our Carrier push those Service Books to our Device and it will allow us to add any email account on our Blackberry Smartphones. But as your Device is a Work Phone so it may not allow you to add any BIS plan unless those IT policies are removed  from that particular devices .You can refer to this Knowledge base to remove an IT policy but first do a backup of your device  :
    KB31291 :  How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory settings using BlackBerry Desktop Software
    KB18998 :  How to reset the BlackBerry smartphone to factory defaults
    But mind it sometime it is very difficult to remove an IT policy from such devices in which those Policies are deeply coded , but you should try to see if that help.

  • Imessage sends from email account not phone number?

    There are 2 receiving options for messages (phone number and email account) but there doesn't appear to be a send option. All my imessages are sent from email not phone but sms from phone. Can this be changed?

    did you ever get this resolved?  I'm having the same issue...  I sometimes only provide an email address to people whom I wish to receive messages from so that they are not able to actually call my phone...  recently I've been hearing from friends who do have my phone number that all of a sudden my messages are being sent from my email address.  My 'start new message' option has ALWAYS been to send from my phone number.  I have always assumed that if someone started a conversation with me by sending to my imessage email address that when I respond to them and them only would it come from the email address...
    this has not been happening...

  • Howe to send sms from oracle forms

    i need your help plzz i wana to send sms from my applicatin

    in normal case you will need an provider for sending sms (pswin,clickatell...) and the easiest way send sms is with a http-api, provided by most of these providers.
    You can do the http-request in forms, by using web.show_document or webutil or, that is the method i prefer put it in the database and let a stored procedure handle the sms-sending. Here is a example of using such an api:
    url := 'http://xxx.xxx.com/send/?typ=2&from=mecker&to='
    || UTL_URL.escape(vMobileNo, true, 'ISO-8859-1')
    || '&txt=' || UTL_URL.escape(vMessageText, true, 'ISO-8859-1')
    ||'&id=myaccount&pwd=testpw&autoroute=1';
    UTL_HTTP.SET_TRANSFER_TIMEOUT(120);
    resp_pieces := utl_http.request_pieces(url);
    for i in 1..resp_pieces.count loop
    value := value || resp_pieces(i);
    end loop;
    There is another example on the pswin homepage at:
    http://www.pswin.com/_pswincom/Downloads/SMS_UTIL.PKS.txt
    I am also sending SMS with unicode, a little bit more complex, if you need unicode-characters let me know ([email protected]), i will give you an example.
