Unlock Blackberry over French provider QUICK !!

Hello there,
I'm a French user of a BlackBerry Curve 9300. My provider is "SFR" and my phone is "blocked" under this provider. I'm leaving France for Spain for 6 months next week and I ABSOLUTELY need to unlock the Blackberry so that I could use it anywhere with any provider. SFR can't unlock it as they said the phone is "too old". The step takes 4 weeks to SFR to contact Blackberry and unlock it but I need my phone to be unlocked next week !!!
Can you help me and unlock my phone ??

i'm not to sure because i purchased the phone online 2nd hand.

I asked, "Has this BlackBerry worked correctly for YOU in the past?"
lol, ok. So the answer to my very specific question is, "No". You bought a second-hand, used BlackBerry, and as far as you know it might have been broken and not working for the seller. Personally, I would recommend you get your money back from the seller, and return the device.
Otherwise, you need to deal with ONE issue at a time. First, you must load the operating system.
See the link below for the download, and follow these simple installation instructions.
    1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=5D6646AAD9BCC0BE55B2C82F69750387
    2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • Want to buy an Unlocked BlackBerry Storm 9530..

To my undertsanding, a unlocked BlackBerry Storm 9530 will work on verizon correct?
My next question is that if i were to buy this phone, could i replace it with my current phone and not be forced to upgrade my plan?
Currently have no DATA plan at all, Just the boring Text/Call plans.
Really just want a better phone than my current phone, and i found this great BlackBerry at a low price unlocked!
I just want to text and call on it, while using a BlackBerry!

Only devices Verizon allows on their system are Verizon branded. So it would have to be a Verizon BB.
Also even buying elsewhere you are required to have data on a BB device.

  • My iphone was unlocked by my service provider because my contract finished so does that mean i can update my iphone or will it re lock my iphone??

If the phone has been officially unlocked by your service provider then it should remain unlocked.

  • Can I use my unlocked Blackberry 8700g on AT&T without data charges?

Hi, my phone recently broke so I went on ebay and bought an unlocked Blackberry 8700g.  I previously had no data plan on my old cell phone, just the pay as you go type thing.  If I start using the unlocked Blackberry will AT&T automatically start billing me for a BlackBerry data plan, even if I don't use any data?  I don't need data, the phone is only temporary and I mainly bought it for the QWERTY for texting.
    Thanks in advance

I've heard of some carriers sending an SMS that offers service. If you reply in whatever their proscribed manner is, that constitutes activating a contract. But I think it still requires you to respond...I don't think that they can just start giving you service and sending you bills if you've never actively accepted some contractual arrangement. But, one never knows...carriers get more and more creative all the time.

All BlackBerrys have the ability for BlackBerry Messenger.
You must have THE BlackBerry Data Plan on your service provicer account for it to work.
No Blackberry Data Plan = No BlackBerry Messenger.

  • Unable to unlock blackberry curve 3g 9300 with the unlock code

I have the same problem and could not unlock my blackberry curve 3g 9300 from Canada's wind network.
I have called my network provider twice and obtained the unlock code. I also called back to reconfirm the unlock code.
However each time I tried to unlock my blackberry curve 3g 9300 with the unlock code ,it refuses to unlock.
please assist me with a solution.

After the ten attempts have been used, you must get RIM to unlock the device.
There are two routes, and only two, to achieve this.
    * IF your device is in warranty, contact your service provider technical support. Tell them you have this issue which needs to be escalated to RIM level customer support. I'll warn you that most carrier technical support people will first assume and think you are referring to a device security unlock, and you will need to convince them otherwise and explain clearly what you need. THEY will not be able to help you because the carriers themselves cannot unlock a device which has had the MEP code attempts depleted, and should (and you will need to ask) to have the case escalated to RIM level tech support.
    * If your device is out of warranty, contact RIM direct. See the Contact Us information from the website: http://ca.blackberry.com/contact/ The options you want to select to speak to BlackBerry Customer Care are 3 (for inquiries, orders, billing, e-RMA etc) then 5 (e-RMA and Out of Warranty).

  • BLACKBERRY 10.3 VPN Quick Shortcut

    Hi,
Just a suggestion for upcoming software version 10.3.
How about a quick settings shortcut for VPN profiles!  This would be very helpful.
It takes up to 4-5 clicks to access a saved VPN profile through Settings -> Network -> VPN -> Choose profile.
A quick setting shortcut (accessed by swiping down from the top) would get this down to 2.
I would use my VPN more often.  I see this as a good move for the future, security is a must for cell phones.
I created a powerpoint presentation but I don't think I can attach it.
I can email it to whomever.
    Thanks,

    Good suggestion, make it at

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
There is only one legal way to unlock a BB...refer:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/General-BlackBerry-Functions-and/Unlocking-your-BlackBerry-Gu...
If you have used up all of your chances to enter the correct unlock code, there is nothing further you can do. Even if you happen to have now the correct code, it is useless. Only the factory can now (legally) unlock your BB. Typically, I've heard that the cost of having RIM do this for you will be greater than the cost of just buying a new one. But, you are able to ask them...see here:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/programs/technical/incident.jsp
Note, however, that this process will start with a fee...
If you obtained your unlock code from somewhere but it was incorrect, your recourse could be with them -- however, they may well question why you exhausted all 10 attempts before contacting them.
If your BB was already MEP locked and you obtained it from a source that represented it as being able to be unlocked, then your recourse would be with the seller you obtained it from.
    hossam55 wrote:
and what is the latest software version for my device ?
Please refer to this official download portal as you proceed. It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    hossam55 wrote:

If your BB is properly unlocked, there is no (legal) software you can install that would re-lock it. Likewise, there is no (legal) software you can install to unlock it. Only the above procedure or the BlackBerry factory can do that (legally).
    Good luck!

  • Unlocking blackberry 8520

I would like to unlock my blackberry 8520 cause i want  to go to a different network. Apparently all 10 attempts have been used, is anything i can do now? Thank you

I have never directly faced your situation, so have no experience to guide me. I cannot predict what path would be faster. Well, actually, the fastest path is to abandon this BB and buy a new one from the carrier you wish to operate on. After all, shifting a BB to another carrier is challenging even beyond just the act of unlocking...if the new carrier does not directly support your specific BB model number, getting full BB services to function on it can be even more challenging (the carriers typically only send the necessary Service Books down to the BB model numbers that they directly support, so you must work some difficult magic to get a non-supported BB model to work on that other network). Plus, some carriers may well forbid your BB model from their network...it's their network, after all so they can say that.
I've never used the trade up program either, so I have no experience about that.
All in all, I can't guide you one way or another as my decision criteria may be different from yours. I think I've provided you with all of the various pros and cons that I am aware of...but the decision is yours.
    Good luck!

  • UNLOCKABLE BlackBerry Z30 - I challenge you!

    Good evening,
I own a BlackBerry Z30, but not just any bbz30:
    - I bought it off of kijiji last week, the device appears to be very new.
    - It works with Telus's network proven by inserting their simcard.
    - It has Telus written on the side of the box
    BUT
    - Telus doesn't have the device listed or recognized in their past inventory or database.
    - NO BODY can find me the unlock code, and I am assuming this is why; I have tried two thirdparty unlocking companies.
    - HOWEVER, the device has a valid PIN recognized by Telus (becuase they see that BlackBerry also recognizes it as a real device, by this ID)
I am bloody well frusturated with this whole ordeal. Got myself a nice $600 paper weight because I can't unlock the device to work on my network (WIND Mobile), and yes, as a STA 100-5 I am certain unlocking it will work on wind.
Somewhere along the line, BlackBerry made this phone, marked it with their ID, and then it never got into the Telus database/system.  My request is that someone from BlackBerry help provide me the unlock code as they are the only ones who might be able to at this point.  I am willing to pay a reasonable sum; please stop hiding!
    Don't dissapoint another customer!

they should be able to unlock it
