Unlock Motorola Droid Pro XT610 ?

Good day. I bought Motorola Droid Pro XT610 Verizon on Ebay. I live in Russia. Does anyone know if Verizon will unlock them, as there is no Verizon in Russia.
I can't locate the correct phone number for Verizon, and their online form won't accept out of country email.
Written on the screen: "SIM network unlock PIN". Help me please!

Hello gnomba,
In order for Verizon Wireless to unlock a SIM you must have an active Verizon Wireless account with the device activated on the account or previously activated on the account.  If you have recently open an account with us the account has to be active for at least 60 days for the SIM to be unlocked.  Let me know if this helps.

  • How to unlock my droid pro sim card while in New Zealand?

I need my phone to work here in New Zealand but before I came I was force to cancel my contract with Verizon because I am here for 8 months.
I need help in unlocking the SIM card while over here so I can use votophone service.

        Hi adamwondering,
I can certainly understand you wanting to unlock the sim card in your device for international usage. If a phone is active on a Verizon account our Global Support Team has the ability to unlock it, however if the device is not active we are unable to generate a lock code. If you are interested in unlocking your sim and using on another carrier you can always contact that specific carrier to unlock your device in stead.
    Thank you,

  • Texting Issues with new Droid Pro

sometimes while typing a text message (using the droid pro keyboard,) the search bar will inexplicably pop up as if i touched the magnifying glass icon. this is causing me to exit out of the messaging screen. then i have to click into it again, re-open the same text message, and finish typing.
is there a shortcut key to open the search bar that i may be hitting accidentally? if so, can i turn it off?

    Hello,
For this device, double-tapping the screen will zoom in, therefore, magnify the page. Please click on the Touchscreen & Keys of the User Manual, which can be found at the link below for further instructions:

  • UNLOCK CODE FOR MOTOROLA DROID XT912

Hi, i recentley bought a Motorola Droid XT912 from ebay hoping to unlock it, and it is for Verizon Wireless. I searched online for hours and hours, and most of the places said just get the unlock code from Verizon Wireless, they give it to you for free, so I am wondering if you could please give me the unlock code so I can start using it as fast as possible, I will give you all the information for the phone Please and ThankYou.

If you are not a current Verizon Wireless customer and also don't meet the other qualifications, you cannot get the unlock code for the SIM unlock on a VZW branded device.

  • Battery Issues with Droid Pro by Motorola

My wife and I recently got smartphones. I got the Casio Commando, and she got the Droid Pro.
I've been very happy with the Commando, but she's had nothing but issues with the battery on her Droid Pro. She has to constantly charge the thing, even when she has all the background data, GPS, everything turned off on her phone. It just seems to drain like nobody's business. She tried an app killer program, and that didn't work.
Anyone got any suggestions for a couple of smartphone rookies having battery issues?
Aside from the battery problem, the phones have both been fantastic.

I had similar problems with my origianl Droid and battery.
Verizon replaced my battery and it was very much improved.  I normally have no problem getting a full day with normal use.
Make sure WIFI is turned off as well and that e-mail is NOT set to "Push" mode (constantly checking for e-mail).  I have mine set to check for e-mail every 30 mintues.
Also, be sure to check "settings/application/running Services to see what is using up resources.

  • HELP! Droid Pro user traveling in Europe...phone capability lost

    Hello forum...
I started a two month trip in Europe last week. Upon my departure, I signed up for an international data package so that I could catch up on email and use my phone's gps to navigate the areas I visit. I have had numerous issues since arriving, most dire is that I have absolutely no phone service whatsoever....there is a red circle and slash through the bars at the top of the phone's display.
I have been through customer service already. They have confirmed that I am on the data plan. They have confirmed that my SIM card is valid. I actually had service for a short time after that (2 days), but then the phone went dead again. At present, I am only able to use the phone through my hotels' wi-fi networks....but never is there any wi-fi available to the phone outside of these secured, password protected connections. I wouldn't be able to even make an emergency call if I needed to as the phone will make no calls whatsoever.
I have run out of ideas. I have gone through the phone's settings and everything checks out: wifi is enabled, data roaming is enabled, networks are set to global (gsm and CDMA do not work...the phone cannot find any available). The sim card number in my phone matches the number on the card.
I am close to simply suspending the account at this point, but ideally, it would be nice to have the phone's capabilities available to me. After all, I did purchase this phone with this trip in mind. Funny thing...I am writing this from my iPad sitting in a hotel in Turkey. The iPad has no plan yet works perfectly in spots where I can find wi-fi networks to latch onto. Only thing is...I don't want to carry it around with me everywhere I go.
Thanks to anyone who may have ideas for my problem!

The Verizon sales associates recommend activating the phone for international roaming the day before leaving the country while you still have Verizon service.  *228 and pushing 2 to confirm roaming takes a minute or two minutes for success. Roaming allows you to use Verizon's partner networks outside of the U.S.
I unfortunately do not know how to activate international roaming for your phone since it is outside of the Verizon network. From what I know, at this point, you cannot make calls using Verizon's partner networks in Europe with your Verizon SIM. So that is the reason your phone is not working.
However, with the Droid Pro, you have the alternative to unlock your phone. If you call Verizon global services (908-559-4899), they can provide you with an unlock code. This will allow you to use your mobile device with another SIM card such as a local cell phone service provider. This is good for calls around Europe, and incoming calls are free.
    Good luck!

  • Droid pro without contract

    hello verizon community,
im currently located in germany, and i really want to get my handy onto a droid pro.
since it is only distributed over verizon i was wondering if buying it for the ~480$ and making a month to month plan, which i could cancel after one month (?) keeping the device and sending it to germany would be possible? i mean is it locked to verizon or are there any other obstacles?
would be great to find out, i really love the phone and it seems like another few month before it hits germany!... ;(
    thanks for your answers already

The OP just needs to get the SIM lock (subsidy/network code)  undone, which cannot brick the phone.  Of course, you can use it with the VZ SIM, but that will be very expensive for German use.

VZ will unlock the phone for contract customers who have been with them long enough (1 per year), but that wouldn't work for you probably.   However, lots of places will unlock Motorola phones, and I don't think the fact it is a new model really matters (it's keyed of the IMEI, doesn't really matter which phone it is!)

That said, is this such a great phone if you just use it  in GSM mode?  I thought at that price you can do better and get some of the fancy phones that we would like over here!

  • Droid Pro- corporate contact access

I just got the Droid Pro and so far so good.  I changed over from the Droid Eris because I needed a global phone and wanted a hard keyboard.  I really like it but I seem to have an issue...I don't think I can search for a contact that is in my company's exchange server.  Not my outlook contacts, but other addresses in my corporate directory.  I had this feature with Active Sync on my Eris, but can't seem to find it on the Droid Pro- which seems weird since it's positioned as a business phone.  The Motorola website didn't really give much information only saying that I shouldn't need to access a corporate directory.  Any thoughts?  Hopefully I'm just not looking in the right place.

I can certainly understand how inconvenient this could be on your phone.  If my music app wasn’t working or icons and wall paper would be changing I would be confused and slightly upset.  How long has this been an issue for you?  Have you installed any apps on the phone recently that could be driving some of these issues?  Have you rooted your phone?  Have you ever done a master reset on the device to address some of these issues?  If you have not here are the following steps to do so:
From the main screen, touch menu tab
    Touch Settings
    Touch Privacy
    Touch Factory Data reset
    Touch Reset Phone
    Touch Erase Everything
I am certain that a master reset will resolve your issue.  Thanks.

  • Droid Pro randomly changes settings

I have a Droid Pro and sometimes when I unlock it my wallpaper has changed, icons are deleted or added, one time it called someone on my contact list.  This happens about once or twice a week.
Also, listening to mp3s it will sometimes stop in the middle of a song and I will need to hit play again and the song starts over. Volume also will decrease on its own. This happens pretty consistently.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Droid Pro newbie questions

Hello everyone. I just got my new droid pro yesterday (so far I like it!) but I do have a couple questions.
    1. Whenever I turn on wifi it makes everything on the phone stop working, cant use internet, apps, etc. My husbands iphone connects and works fine so I didnt think it was the router but I am not sure. Any tips would be helpful!
    2. Also  I have a little app/widget thing that was preinstalled from the My Verizon and somtimes it says 3G Data - Unlimited Use. After I try to use the wifi I turned it off and now that little red box says Data Usage - Not connected. I checked my account online and it still has the unlimited data package under my number, is this just an app problem or am I really not connected? Everything works (as long as wifi is off) so I wasnt sure.
    Couple of random questions..
    3. Is there a way to change the background color of text messages? Like in the inbox its black, the same with the default email.
    4. Is there a way to have the date stay at the top of the phone instead of just popping up when you go to click notifications? & Have the % of the battery displayed there?
    5. I have my cell phone charging right now and it seems kind of hot, is that normal?
    6.  I want to shut off the notifications from apps, like yahoo, craigslist etc. but cant seem to figure out where to do that.
    7. Is there a way to "wake up" the phone by pressing a button on keypad and then unlock it instead of the power button?
Sorry there are so many questions, I'm not good with change and with this being my first smartphone Im trying to customize it to how I want it as quickly as possible! lol. Any other droid pro tips that you think I would find helpful is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!!

    1. There are only a handful of laptop battery producers in Asia. The top 5 laptop vendors (including Apple) seem to buy theirs from Sony (this is why, a couple years ago Apple, Dell, and Toshiba were suing Sony for batteries that warped/caught fire).
    2. Yes. You don't even need a screwdriver, just slide the release and it pops out.
    3. The hardware performs the same. Mac OS X performs better than Windows, not quite as well as Linux (on the same hardware). You can find faster laptops with better video cards, but they cut corners elsewhere or cost more.
    4. General quality. The package is well built, OS X is generally well designed and performs well. The physical case is top-notch. The biggest liability is the region-locked optical drive. I've owned a VAIO and it was without question the worst computer I've ever had -- cheesy case and lots of hardware issues.
    5. Macs in general seem to hold their resale value very well. The hardware is typically supported by Apple for longer than PC hardware is by other vendors.
    6. You got me there, no idea.
    7. Apple typically sells them for 15% - 20% when that happens (check store.apple.com), but don't count on there being much of an inventory.
    8. I'm still working on my first, but the company policy is 3 years.

  • How do I  see when there's a Missed call on Droid Pro

I love my brand new Droid Pro - BUT there are a few things I'm taking too much time trying to figure out.  First - where do I see that there is a missed call?
Thanks - and I'm sure I'll be back on with more questions!
    DeenaM

If the phone has an LED light, it should flash that there is a notification of some kind including missed calls.
There will also be a symbol in the top left corner of screen and when you pull down the notification window, it will tell who called or for multiple missed calls the number of calls.
You can also find the full manual online at either Verizon's or Motorola's website. It should explain most of the symbols used in the top notification bar.

  • Anyone else having problems with Motorola Droid?

Hi I have the crappy motorola droid that freezes and forcecloses everything possible. Takes forever to start up and randomly shuts itself off. Anyone else have this problem? I've only had it maybe 6 months and have done nothing to it to cause these issues. My husband has the Droid 2 which is even worse! When I went into a Verizon store I was told that it is because they released it on the whim not realizing it would have all these issues and the only thing I can do is to upgrade to a better more recent phone? I'm confused as to a. why do I have to buy a new phone just because they released a crappy phone? and b. The upgrade is $300+ for a "more suitable/reliable" phone (obviously with signing a new 2 yr contract). Also I want to make sure I am not the only one paying $220 for 2 lines with 1400 minutes? (includes the $29.99 fee for both lines & also $6.99 for insurance).... Does this sound right?
    Thanks!

    Hello!
First, I am going to refrain from two very popular forum habits:
    1. complaining about my phone
(it is an incredible piece of technology with some very specific issues, looking for answers, please :~)
    2. bashing my carrier (it's pointless - I am asking for help here; don't want to bite the hand that feeds me)
    That said:
I live in Berlin, Germany / my D2G is an unlocked, US model from VZW
My carrier here is O2, a giant German carrier, comparable with VZW
(iphone users are usually  O2 customers here, for example)
My family plan in the US still lists my US number; I can go home to NY, switch sim cards back to the VZW network at the airport and use my phone on VZW right away. This costs my family only $10 a month, and adds another incentive to visiting home at a totally great price.
I pay 30 € per month for my own contract here with O2, including flat-rate calling and a great data plan. Sending SMS costs 7 - 13 cents apiece. Again, very satisfied with the ability to use this phone globally as the name implies.
    My issue:
Since updating to Gingerbread IN GERMANY back in November or so, my D2G started going berzerk, with many of the same issues described in the  post from mmendoza about his fiancee's D2G in this thread:
"sometimes it looks like a ghost is playing with it"
    - not just sometimes, about 80-90% of the time! When using any/all apps or built in features, the picture onscreen will shiver and shake back and forth like I am holding my finger on the screen and wildly wiggling it about.... condensation on the screen? Oils from hands or face? with or w/o screen protector,  issue remains the same - ghost party in my phone.
"it makes calls on its own, texts people, opens apps"
-related to the above issue, I think; random URLs will be googled! Emails selected in Gmail and archived/deleted at will by the phone as I watch, dumbfounded! Behold: the amazing Self-Sufficient Smart-Phone! It's ALIVE!! aaaarghhhh!
"a black screen that said something like Boot Loader, some numbers, Battery OK and something else,
    Connect to USB to download"
-have also seen this screen once before; I thought it was the phone giving up the ghost, fortunately it came back to life, unfortunately just as quirky and un-usable as before.... you can imagine how frustrated this makes one, so I will spare you the details of my own emotional distress and get to the point:
Also: keyboard on the touchscreen - the letter a won't work: each time, 'sa' comes out, when I mean to type 'a' - weird.
Many things I've tried - factory reset, you ask? yes, and *please* don't ask that one again, if possible! Issue remained the same after a brief period (maybe 3 hours) of normal functioning - ghost is back in the kitchen for good.
Battery has been in and out of my phone more times to count -to no avail- as above, issues always return in short order.
Wiping the screen clean to remove any residues? - also doesn't help matters, just makes me look like a frustrated and OCD-about my smart-phone hipster in the subway and other public places where I like to, you know, use my phone's bazillion features, sometimes.
So Motorola's take on the issue: bc this has all been happening with the phone SINCE UPDATING TO GINGERBREAD IN GERMANY -  'the "German" Gingerbread update is of course the update for the "German" model of the D2G, therefore the wrong one for your phone, young grasshopper. Please send your phone back to your family in the states, we will send them a shipping label, they will send the phone to us, we will flash the drive, and update you to Gingerbread here, send the phone back to your family, who will then send it back to you and your problems will be solved, but please, act fast before your warranty runs out on March 21st, 2012.'
Ok, so that is plausible, kind of ~ I buy a phone to use in the meantime, for 15 €, to make calls only.... emotionally preparing myself for this long period without my awesome phone... and I take the sim card out of my D2G, and put it in the interim cell phone.... and the D2G has a rest for a couple of days.
Then, before sending it off, one last try with the German sim card in the D2G - like magic all of the symptoms are gone, and the phone has returned to full, unproblematic functionality. Which is great, but does nothing to explain the hardship of the last 3 months... I don't know... that was this morning, tomorrow is another day, maybe the ghosts will return.
My question for VZW: you guys know that several people have had this issue with the D2G - the forums don't lie, guys... I am wondering if it can really be attributed to the software update 'intended for the German model of Motorola's D2G. People in the States have had this issue as well. Should I send it to motorola as instructed and let them fumble with it before my warranty expires next month? Is there another fix?
I know I can just flash the drive, download and install the appropriate Gingerbread update to my phone MYSELF with a USB cable and a computer connected to the world wide web. So what is the point of giving it to Motorola to perform such a simple fix? If they are aware of this issue with their D2G phone, as I am sure they must be, have they owned up to it with other users of the D2G who are VZW customers? What is my best chance at solving the riddle of these issues in the coming weeks? help? please... bitteschön?
