Unlocked Apple TV 2 or ATV3 for grandma?
Hello All!
Awhile ago I came across a good deal on an unlocked ATV2. I decided to get it for my grandma. However I haven't been able to set it up for her yet because she has a giant tv cabinet.
Her TV died yesterday, so today is the day! I got her a new tv and a neighbor is going to help move the cabinet. But now I'm torn. I'm still getting used to the unlocked ATV2 myself and I fear it might be too complicate for her.
And I want it....
So I was thinking of going an getting her an ATV3. Could I convert media files via handbrake, put them in her computers iTunes library and she could stream them to the tv? Does the computer have to be on? Any thoughts on this?
Sorry for rambling, I want her to get a lot of use out of it instead of complaining about cable. Thanks!

You can only purchase a factory unlocked iPhone directly from Apple.

The unlocked IPhone 4S models will not be available until November, Why is that? Why would Apple do that? I should be able to buy a factory unlocked Apple iPhone 4S when it comes out! I travel all over the world, and so that is why I need one like that. It is unfair to the consumer, and frankly turning away customers like myself willing to pay high dollar to Apple for their product, who can I speak with to complain about this, because I know their are factory unlocked iPhone 4S' sitting in a warehouse somewhere just waiting to be shipped, and I want one. I know why, cause Apple signed contracts with each carrier so the carrier could increase their sales making customers sign 2 year contracts, I get it, I own my own business, but the delay of releasing factory unlocked ones is just not right and I should be able to buy one without having to buy it over in the UK where it is unlocked when it comes out right away, I should be able to buy it in my own country! These business practices we practice in the US need to stop, their is a demand that needs to be met with consumers like myself who don't need subsidized iPhone's with 2 year contracts with carriers and don't mine paying full price for an unlocked one, it is unethical in a sense, forcing the customer to buy it with a carrier contract and NOT giving the customer the option to buy it full price and own it themselves, OR, making the consumer wait a month for that option to be available. THEY SHOULD BE RELEASED AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!! THAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO!!!!!!
Apple can contact me and I will proudly pay for one. But making me wait a month for an unlocked one, puts AT&T, Sprint & Verizon's interests before mine, and that is not right, for it is MY money that keeps you guys in business, so my best interests should come first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I understand your frustration, but when any form of rationing is required you have to prioritise. The number of unlocked vs packaged phones will be quite small and the number of unlocked buyers wishing to upgrade immediately will be smaller still. Against this you have the corporations sharing $billions between them.
It would, you're correct, have been fairer to release all at the same time, but fairer doesn't come into it: it's business. -

How to reset your Apple ID security questions.
Go to appleid.apple.com, click on the blue button that says 'Manage Your Apple ID'.
Log in with your Apple ID and password. (If you have forgotten your Apple ID password, go to iforgot.apple.com first to reset your password with a password recovery email)
Go to the Password & Security section on the left side, and click on the link underneath the security questions that says 'Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to [email]'. This will generate an automated e-mail that will allow you to reset your security questions.
If that doesn't work, or there is no rescue email link available, then click on 'Temporary Support PIN' that is in the bottom left side, and generate a 4-digit PIN for the Apple Account Security Advisor you will be contacting later.
Next, go to https://getsupport.apple.com
(If you see a message that says 'There are no products registered to this Apple ID, simply click on 'See all products and services')
Choose 'More Products & Services', then 'Apple ID'.
A new page will open.

My phone is carrier locked with telenor sweden and telenor is ready to unlock but payment must be paid through swedish credit card , that i dont have so what i can do to unlock , i m ready to pay for carrier unlock what can i do? yes, when you bought the code, telenor tell you wait a few days, they offer to apple and unlock for your iphone, after a few days, you can check in the web, your imei Unlocked and you must restore your iphone with iturn, and conratulation your phone has been unlocked...

Will Apple offer a simple downgrade for those with messed up apps?
I wonder If perhaps Apple can give me a simple way to Downgrade my iPhone back to 3.13 and keep my settings and apps intact. The new software screwed up 2 apps that I not only bought the iPhone for but spent 100.00 on cable acessories specificly for these apps, Tv out. OK I love the phone now for many other reasons but the 100 bucks is in the trash. All I wanted was folders. I will give up the folders to get my Air Video Tv out back

Apple are in the market for sales. Its all money. The likes of you and I do not count. They want you to make the mistake and then throw the old phone away in favour of a new one.
Do not despair! there is a jailbreak just being released that will get you back to 3.1.3. If I give you the link, the little spies at Apple will zap my post - but if you google iphone and unlock, the chances are it will be top of the list... -
Grandkids set up ipad2 for grandma. Passcode forgotten and never used again. The ipad was never turned off, and was never synced or connected to main PC. No iTunes installed on PC. Yesterday while visiting with owner, I downloaded an app for her. It installed and restarted the ipad. Passcode is now needed. What to do?
If Find my iPad was never set up then scroll down & follow the directions under Recovery Mode:
Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
If it was and the activation lock is triggered, then you will need to know the original Apple ID & password that her grandkids used to set it up or have them sign into iCloud & remove the device from Find My iPad before you can Restore it.

They don't use a SIM card to connect to the Verizon Wireless network. If the unlocked phones you are looking at need a SIM card, then they are likely GSM versions of the phone and aren't compatible with the CDMA network used by Verizon Wireless.
You can click on the Shop link at the top of the website to see what the current plans offered by Verizon Wireless for post-paid customers. If you want to stay prepaid, then your options for smartphones might be limited and don't include the iphone. -

Apple does not unlock iPhones. however, T-Mobile, where you live does offer official unlocking. So, contact them as to the cost/requirements.

Help! My iPod touch won't let me download any apps. A message keeps coming up saying "This Apple ID cannot be used for the iTunes store. Please enter another Apple ID" I changed my ID to see if that would work but the same message still comes up.
Where are you physically located?
What country's Store are you using?
The two have to be the same and the payment method for your account also has to be associated (billing address, where iTunes gift card was purchased) with that country.
Has the ID(s) worked before for purchases for this country's store?
