Unlocked factory refurb works on O2 and Egyptian Vodaphone but not Cyprus or Spain

I have a 4s that I got from a friend who upgraded after they got a refurbished one. We thought it was unlocked, which is what I need as I travel a lot. I used it on O2 and Vodaphone in Egypt but it won't activate when I try to use a Cypriot or Spanish SIM. Is it possible it is only locked in Europe? Would it be O2 or Apple that unlock it? I haven't tried any other UK sims and don't know what carrier my friend used.

It would be o2 to unlock it. Only the carrier the device is locked to can authorize an unlock. Your friend should know who it was locked to, since that is who they were using the device on.

If a website uses BGSOUND then it will only work in IE.
BGSOUND is not compatible with other browsers like Firefox.

Script Works on MacBook and Mac Mini but Not MacBook Air

I just bought a new Mac Mini and 11' MacBook Air, and I have a script that works on the former but not the later. I did encounter some problem with the exclamition point in a name.
There could be a problem with exclamation point in a url, but didn't try.

Speakers work for phone and other apps, but not for music playback on 4G after downloading ios 8.0.2

I know others are having off the wall issues with sound on their iPhones after installing the iOS 8.0.2...In my case? Thank God the sound for phone calls and alarms work, but the same can't be said for when I try to play music or a radio app?? And the speaker option on my voice mail sticks....
There are 1001 other issues that I have with this so called upgrade, and let's just say that I've been looking at using my AT&T other phone options since I'm ready to upgrade....Since this is the second time in about a year that I've gone through **** and back with an Apple OS upgrade and there just isn't the cache there once was with owning an iPhone? I'm seriously questioning why be brand loyal when I can't find an answer to my issue and the one solution is to go to the Apple Store and deal with the arrogant and rude clerks OR try and see if someone has a decent solution, OR wait for weeks for Apple to offer a bug fix or access to older OS's!
(BTW--I HATE how this OS kills the battery! And I'm not happy with the 2 apps that I didn't want and can't get rid of!)

I was hoping that the iOS 8.1 update would have fixed my problem, but it has not. The app updates continue to hang and will not up date unless I follow the procedures mentioned earlier. I have spoken to Apple Care, and their only suggestion was to do a network settings reset. This worked once, but on the following days as more app updates appeared, they would not download. Once again, the only way to achieve my goal is to do one of the following;
Change networks
Sync through iTunes
Reset Network Settings
Turn off Wi Fi and use Cellular Data (not my preferred option especially while at home and connected to my home network).
I think Apple are loosing the plot and seem to be chasing profits more than producing a good reliable product. I would have respected the company more if they had admitted that iOS8 was not ready for general release rather than release a faulty system causing so many problems.

ICloud tabs for Safari work between Mac and iPhone 5 but not iPad 3

All my devices are signed in with my same ID account. My Mac and Iphone 5 are communicating just fine but my iPad 3 is not receving or sending its iCloud tabs. Safari is enabled in the iCloud setting on the iPad and private browsing is not enabled on any device. Whats wrong?

Try going to Settings>iCloud on your iPad and turning Safari Off, then back On.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing on your iPhone. It sounds like you are not noticing transparency on your iPhone. It may be that you have "Increase Contrast" turned on in your iPhone settings.
I recommend verifying that Increase Contrast is turned off in Settings>General>Accessibility.

Yes. tried the one ram stick, no go. I have been trying to boot off/install the windows 7 disk but am unable to get to the point where windows starts installing after its gathering information portion of the install. I can get to the disk selection screen of the install with the WD HD on SATA port 2 but then get the "cant install messages" when I try to select the Vertex 3. The iPhone 5 is less than a year old, so all of them should still be in warranty unless they have been jailbroken or physically damaged. If you have a hardware problem as you describe the only option is to get the phone replaced by Apple or repaired by a non-authorized shop. The Apple replacement will be free at any Apple store in the country where the phone was purchased. If Apple determines that the phone was physically damaged or jailbroken it will cost $229.

Although the HP Scanjet shows up in the system profile for the computer it is generic and is not configured (as in screen shot). It also does not show up in the ;ist of pritnters, scanner when I open Image Capture. Ive reset my SMC and PMU but it still does not work. Only black screen appears on skype with a loading sign that takes so long. The light signal on the cam doesnt turn on as well which indicates that it is really not working.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via control centre : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off'). You must have an iPhone 3GS then if its running 4.3.2
The iPhone 3G can only update to 4.2.1 iOS.
Reset the iPhone
Hold the top silver button and the home button (just below the display of the iPhone)
Do this at the same time for about 10 seconds until you see an Apple.
The iPhone then should take 1-3 minutes to restart and it should be fine

Depending on what iPhone you have when you get to the connect to wifi you should be able to activate your device over cellular data. Try doing a hard reset by holding the home circle button an power button until an apple pops up and the go through the setup again and when you get to the wifi part a option should be setup with cellular data iPhone 4 and above should give this option sometimes doesn't like showing up that's why u have to do a hard reset first

- Unsyncing all music and resysncing
