Unlocked iphone 5 still says its locked...
Hi everyone,
Any help would be appreciated. I have summarised the situation below:
1. Lost iphone 5 in Japan so I bought a replacement second hand off eBay
2. It was advertised as unlocked
3. I took it to Vodafone when it arrived and they said it was locked and wouldn't accept their sim
4. I contacted the seller who told me they must have forgotten to complete the unlocking process, they told me to go to this website and unlock it with the IMEI: Telstra: https://unlock.telstra.com/iphoneunlock/main?execution=e1s1
5. The phone is still saying it's locked
6. I called the seller who contacted Telstra and Telstra confirmed that the phone is unlocked.
7. The phone still won't accept my vodafone sim
8. I restored the phone in DFU mode with the vodafone sim in it and after restoration the phone still says that it's locked.
Any help would be appreciated - tearing my hair out.

Try reading what I wrote - Telstra is the carrier, that link is to their website and that's how you unlock an iphone with them. You put in the IMEI, wait 72 hours and then complete the tethering process via restoring the phone using itunes. Or so they say.
There would be no point trying to scam me because I paid via paypal and paypal will give me my money back if I make a claim. I will make a claim if I can't resolve this issue in the next two days but I need a phone ASAP so it's better for me to try and get it working before I give up.

You need to follow the instructions in the second half of that page
Note: If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer" section below.
So you need to click on the 'If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer' heading and follow the instructions underneath it -
go t-mobile and they said 2 day later you can use this iphone. But now I cant use. this phone say its lock. But t-mobile was unlock it.

Unfortunately, AT&T does not provide unlocking.

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Remove and reinsert the SIM.
Replace the SIM.
Contact the carrier to troubleshoot the issue. -

My Ipod nano says its locked and screens on and it's staying frozen. I have tried pressing the menu and select button simultaneously and still not reset. What should I do?
Right click on the iPod Nano icon. "Eject" should pop up. At least that is the way it works on Macs.

I bought my UNLOCKED iPhone 4 from the U.K and I dropped it in the water by mistake and took it to apple store they gave me a brand new iphone 4 but its locked! I don't use att! i activated the phone but when i inserted my t-mobil sim and says in the itunes its not supported! I told the apple genius that if the can give me a unlocked one they told me that i have to activate it that it will work but it didn't! what should i do? should i contact apple uk? do u think they would give me a new unlocked phone ?

If in the UK, Apple doesn't have any AT&T carrier locked iPhones in the UK to sell new or for an exchange under warranty. If in the U.S., your iPhone would not be exchanged under warranty here since Apple does not sell the iPhone as unlocked in the U.S.
The full retail sales price for the iPhone is the same. The $199 sales price for the iPhone in the U.S. is AT&T's subsidized or discounted price which requires signing a two year contract. There is no difference whatsoever except for the iPhone being carrier locked.
If you are in the U.S. now, your officially unlocked iPhone purchased in the UK should not have been exchanged under warranty here. The iPhone does not have a worldwide warranty. Regardless where you are now, there is one place and one place only that can resolve this and that is the Apple store where your iPhone was exchanged under warranty, so return there. -

My iphone 5 says its charging but it isn't. I have a Apple charger. The problem is sporadic.

If your iPhone is not charging while plugged into the wall adapter, then I'd like you to please follow the information outlined below to help resolve the issue.
If the battery doesn’t charge

my old version mac book air does not start up so i tried to reinstall lion but it says its locked. how do i unlock it with out being able to start up the system.
Could be. The "lock" isn't actually looking for a password.
WARNING: This will completely erase the ENTIRE hard drive.
What you would need to do is boot to recovery > disk utility > select the MAIN drive on the left side > partition > change partition layout from CURRENT to 1 PARTITION > ensure on the right side it says Format : Mac OSX Extended (Journaled) then push APPLY.
Then if it will allow us, close the windows until you see the 4 options popup again and select "Reinstall Mac OS X" select the Mac HD and you should be good to go! -
HT1476 Iphone 5 says its charging but just stays at 2%.
When i plug in the Iphone 5 to the wall and my computer it says its charging but its stays at 2%. When i plugged it in at night it was at 2% and when i woke up it said it was charging but still at 2%. Ive tried charging it with my mac but still says its charging and is still at 2%. Can someone please tell me how to fix the issue. My phone has always charged normally and now it wont. Ive tried different cords too.

If the battery is actually at 2%, the iPhone would power off with a depleted battery fairly quickly.
How quickly does the iPhone power off with a depleted battery after the iPhone is disconnected from a power source?
Any change after powering the iPhone off and on, a reset which is similar to a computer restart, or after restoring the iPhone with iTunes?
If no change after the latter, the iPhone has a hardware problem. The iPhone includes a one year warranty. -
When trying to update my apps on my phone, after logging in it says my account has been disabled for security reasons. I've updated my password but it still says its disabled. Any thoughts?!

My iMessage won't activate my email but will with phone number. I type my password and it says it's wrong I change it and it still says its wrong. I even made a new account and it still says the password is wrong.

Sync ends in iTunes with certain apps, but iPhone still says syncing
[I'm using the 3.0 version of the software, haven't yet upgraded to 3.1]
The other day, while traveling, I hooked my iPhone up to my laptop computer for the first time. (I normally use my home "desktop" PC.) It did a sync which caused about 2/3 of my applications to disappear.
When I got home, I reconnected the iPhone to my main PC, and iTunes said the PC was not authorized, so I authorized it for the second time (and now it says I have authorized 4 computers when I've only authorized 3.)
When trying to sync back the applications I've had in the past to the phone, there are certain applications (including Google Earth, Finger Piano Lite, ETrade Mobile Pro, and a couple of others) which cause the sync to end part way through the installation (and the app does not show up on the phone) and cause the iPhone to no longer be recognized by the iTunes software (the iPhone icon disappears from the column) until I disconnect and reconnect the phone. When the sync ends in iTunes, the iPhone still says "Sync in Progress" even though it's not syncing.
At one point, many of my icons also got a white blank stripe across about the top 1/4 of the icons. I deleted them from the iPhone and resynced and it seemed to get rid of that problem.
When I right-click on the iPhone icon in iTunes and run diagnostics, iTunes crashes completely.
I have tried resetting the iPhone by holding down the two buttons at the same time, but the problem persists even after restarting after that reset.
