Unlocked iPhone not working with Vodafone

Hi all,
I have an awkward problem. A couple of months ago I bought an unlocked iphone in Italy because I was moving to the Netherlands and I knew they didn't sell unlocked iPhones there. In the meantime I successfully used my Italian prepaid SIM card.
Now I bought a Vodafone NL SIM card. The first time I tried to use it, I got a No Service message on my iPhone but apparently the SIM was working with another cheap phone that I have. Today I went to the Vodafone store where I bought the SIM and they replaced the SIM card twice. Apparently the last SIM card was working, I could call and receive calls, send and receive text messages.
Unfortunately, I can use the phone just for 10 minutes, then I get a No Service message. I have to reboot my iPhone and then it works again (for 10 minutes).
Vodafone told me that they did everything they could and the problem depends on my phone (they even support the iPhone, all the settings are right, but still no luck).
Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Do you think this problem depends on the iPhone?
I really don't know what to do and I have a 1 year contract (even if it is only 10 € p/m, it is still annoying).
Thank you!
Best,
Marco

  • Unlocked iphone not working with tmobile

I bought an iphone 4 off craigslist, which they said was unlocked.  When I came home put the Tmobile sim card in it goes to no serivce.  I put the same sim card in another unlocked iphone and it works.  I called ATT and they said the phone i just bought is unlocked.  I contacted Tmobile and they said the same thing but everything they told me to do didnt help, still no service.  Called Apple they say its unlocked also.  The phone itself is in near perfect condition, but is out of warranty by a couple of months.  Anyone have any ideas?
I have tried reseting the network settings and doing a restore/update with itunes right now.
    Thanks in advance.

Go into a T-Mobile Store and have them try other microSIMs and see if one works. If you know anyone who has an AT&T smartphone try theirs in your iPhone.
If you called Apple and they said it was unlocked it is indeed so. And upgrading to 6.1 would indeed not have succeeded if there was a hack present.

  • Does the unlocked iphone 4 works with other networks besides at

does unlocked iphone 4 works with other network besides at&t like verizon, sprint, and t-mobile ?

An officially unlocked iphone 4 will work with other GSM networks.  The ONLY major GSM network in the U.S is T-Mobile ( who are being purchased by AT&T). Currently with T-Mobile you will not get 3G service  or visual voicemail with the iphone.

    Hi Liju,
There is nothing to worry at all. a FU iPhone works with any carrier including Airtel and Vodafone in any city of India. based on my experience that has been explained earlier in this thread, it is better to use a New SIM.
I prepared the micro sim on my own by cutting the sim with a cutter. It is quite a simple process. Just browse through web, you get lot of info on that. As far as activation process is concerned, it is **** simple. Insert micro SIM into phone. Connect it to iTunes and register it. That's it. Your phone gets activated within few seconds.

  • IPhone not working with Windows 7. Message asks to install 64-bit version

Full error message; "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes".
I have just bought my wife a brand new iPhone 32Gb 3S for Christmas & now it's the most expensive paperweight I own. My wife has also just bought me a brand new 16Gb Nano, which also now comes up with error messages when connected, saying that it faild to load and I need to disconnect it & reconnect it. Naturally, this does not work either.
I'm running Windows 7 & the current 64 bit version of iTunes, but no matter what I do, the above error message comes up.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, very carefully following the exact process & order as detailed by apple, with no luck.
Everywhere I look, there seems to be references to a piece of software that should exist on my computer; "Apple Mobile Device Application Support", yet this is not to be found anywhere.
I have spent over 2 hours on the phone with the Apple techies, with no results whatsoever.
Can ANYONE assist me as I'm going completely bonkers & am about to storm into the Apple store and demand my money back?

The MSCONFIG workaround requires I-tunes and I-phone code to be installed on the machine. The problem is that I-tunes will not install on XP 64-bit machines. It will install on Vista but NOT XP. MSCONFIG requires the user to allow code that can't be on the machine until it's been installed! Apple staff have confirmed this to me over the phone after I spent half a day trying to figure it out.
There is an option, which I know some Apple staff are aware of, which has been set up by a Japanese kid and can be found here:
    http://sites.google.com/site/yukichigai/iphonex64
There are also a couple of 3rd party I-pod readers which, if I name them, will probably get me kicked off the list. Why the f*ck can't Apple sort this out. XP 64 bit has been around for FIVE YEARS!!!

  • Iphone not working with car headunit

I have a JVC KW-NX7000 installed in my 2004 Subaru WRX wagon. I must say the head unit is amazing, i love it! I just recently bought a Iphone 3g. I read all the info about both the head unit and phone and then bought a JVC KS-U30 audio/video cable.
I can not get the head unit to see the phone. Just keeps telling me no USB device but will charge the iphone. Thought it might be the cable or head unit so tryed a friends ipod touch. That worked perfict. Tryed another friends iphone 3g also with no luck. I have the AV setting on the head unit set to Ipod, is there another setting i am missing-maby one on the phone? Any help would be much appriciated.

I have a simmilar problem, i have a JVC KD-R606 head unit and seem to have connection issues first thing in the morning or when it's a bit cold it just will not connect, also when i do get it to connect the audio switches over to the Stereo bluetooth connection from the dock connector after about 20 seconds and then have to manually go through the iphone to change the output source to the dock connector, it still works ok when a phone call comes in it switches to the bluetooth automatically and back to the dock connector again, it's getting a bit annoying when it's connecting for the first time and keeps switching speaker source.

  • Will an unlocked iPhone 4S work with both CDMA and GSM SIM cards?

I was using the iPhone 4S with a GSM sim card all these years here in India and would like to switch to a CDMA carrier.
Does the phone work with both SIM cards? Or is there a separate model which works with CDMA?
    Appreciate all replies.
    Thank You!

    Hey varun0809,
It sounds like you have a question about the specifications of your specific model of iPhone 4s. Here is an article for you that should be able to help you answer these questions:

  • I have purchased i phone 4s from US .but its not working with vodafone microSIM .can you please tell me whether its hardware or software problem

    please reply me soon..

    i have purchased unlocked iphone
How do you know that?  Unless you bought it directly from an Apple Store as unlocked, it pprobably isn't or was hacked.  Phones that were hacked to "unlock", often don't work correctly and ALWAYS get re-locked when updated or restored.

  • 8230 Pearl CDMA unlocked (Verizon) - Not working with other operators

    Hi
I recently purchased a 8230 Pearl Flip CDMA unlocked (originally branded for Verizon) in US without any carrier activation. Later I bought that to India expecting to use with Indian mobile operator, TATA INDICOM.
The operator service center could not help me to set up the phone. The phone does not have a SIM card slot and needs to be programmed.
I request members to help me regarding below:
    1) First find out if the device is really unlocked or not.
    2) If unlocked, how to connect to Indian network operators.
    3) If locked, what do I do to make this phone usable in India.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Kiran

I advise you to read the following article from the public knowledge base:
KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone
especially the steps of the seller on one side, and the steps of the buyer on the other side. Every step must be fulfilled even if you (obviously) are not the seller. Please tell us how it goes, I am interested because I have always found very strange the concept of mobile phone without a SIM card.

  • Legal French unlocked iphone not working correctly

I recently purchased an iphone in France and paid the €100 to have it unlocked to use in Belgium - after successfully unlocking the phone via iTunes I am having problems using the phone and sms function, some of the issues include:
I can make out going calls through the address book but cannot end the call as all the call controls are gone
The only way to end the call is to turn the phone of completely
The phone keypad crashes every time I push one of the digits
Can not answer incoming calls from Belgium but can from the UK
I have read on some blogs that this is due to the iPhone being country specific and on others that a legally unlocked phone is fully unlocked and that many of the phone-related apps only work correctly in countries that Apple added support for in 1.1.2 and this is a bug that will be fixed in firmware 1.1.3.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the tip - it has helped with making phone calls but the other problems are still there - I have contacted apple and they don't know whats going on. I will have to take it up with Orange as this is a regional problem.
    Thanks for you help

  • IPad and iPhone not working with a monitor

I tried to get my iPad and iPhone to play Netflix on a Acer 20inch monitor.  It started to work than stopped. I got a message that the display connected display is not sponsored. It there a download that is available to have my monitor display video.
I have them connected with a VGA connector. I functions for a bit then I get the non support message.

Do you mean per app? Have done for calendar on iphone, but reluctant to do so on ipad as that's the one that contains loads of updates (as it means deleting everything on the ipad?)... if I have to do this I will eventually, its just that as it's both my iphone and ipad involved, it seems like it might be more likely to be an icloud issue? She said hopefully...

  • BT Hub 3 not working with Vodafone SureSignal 3

I had my Vodafone Sure Signal 3 working fine until 16 December now it will not connect through my BT Infinity HH3.
I have all the Vodafone port forwarding set up as instructed but did not need that before.
Vodafone say it is a repeating problem with BT csutomers and BT say it is not their problem.
Running the Vodafone tracert produces many failures due to time out.
My BB speeds are >37Mb/s down and >7Mb/s up
Where do i go from here?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try a factory reset of the homehub by pressing a pin into the recess button on the rear for about 20 seconds.

  • Iphone not working with itunes

Just got an Iphone 3gs. Downloaded itunes but when i plug the phone in it says "this iphone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer toi remove itunes and install the 64 bit version." The version i have is the 64 bit version that is on the website. I have reinstalled 4 times. Any help would be awesome.

yes. this is clearly a software issue and not an issue with my account or iphone. it would have to recognize the iphone to tell me that the iphone can't be used with this version of the software. that is the error, that it is the correct version of the software. My question is clearly how to find a way to remedy this specific problem. why is the 64 version of itunes saying it isn't the 64 version when i connect my iphone?

  • Which unlocked iphone 5 works with TMobile in USA?

I don't like ios 7 and plan to buy an older iphone 5, not 5c or 5s.

All of the states except for three in the USA have a sales tax. It varies from state to state. Many municipalities also charge a sales tax. That means that the tax may vary within a state as well. On the other hand the cost of traveling to a state with a lower sales tax may not make up the difference. So I'd suggest buying the iPhone at the most convenient Apple Store.
