Unlocked previous documents are blank

cannot open any recent unlocked docs, pages are blank as if hidden.

Here, as I use the apps heavily, even after setting the count of recent items to 50, I never get a recent item sufficiently old to be locked.
Only files which aren't reachable this way have chance to be locked.
I use Lion for months and have no problem with the locked files.
When I unlock them, happily, I retrieve the last saved contents.

  • All old pages documents are blank

Did the update to Pages 4.0.3. iWork '09. Running 10.5.8. MDD Dual 1.44
Now all old Pages documents are blank.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Rich

    Kensey,
Have you recently begun using Lion? Has it been more than 2 weeks since you last opened those documents?
Did you notice a button marked "Unlock" in that dialog that informed you that the document was locked?

  • PDF documents are blank but epub documents are not

    Hello All;
I have an install of ACS 4. Installed on the following.
    Linux version 2.6.28.1-xxxx-std-ipv4-32 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.3.2 (Debian 4.3.2-1) ) #2 SMP Fri Jan 30 09:55:02 UTC 2009
I have a production license and I am able to fulfill books - both epub and PDF.
However, when I attempt to download/view the books in Adobe Digital Editions, the PDF files are blank. I should mention that the PDF files that are blank, are PDFs that I grabbed from public domain sites (archive.org). The epub documents that I grabbed from the same source, work find in Adobe Digital Editions.
I would also add that the sample books that are included with Adobe Content Server work just fine. So, I am to assume that there is something 'wrong' with the PDFs that I have.
Anyone see this before? Anyone know where I could look for answers?
    Thanks much.
    Glen

Digital Editions supports essentially the PDF/A profile (plus some extras see the FAQ at http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/faq/ for the full list).   The most commonly noticed thing that is missing compared to the current PDF 1.7 spec is JPEG2000 support.
What happens when you view these files in Digital Editions before your package them?

  • Unable to print from within safari, documents are blank.

When I try to print a PDF document from within Safari the pages are blank.  I can print directly from Reader.

As I recall, there were two separate updates for AppleWorks, one for OS 9 and one for OS X. You should make sure that you have the proper one. For OS X, the version should be 6.2.9. I am not sure if that will help you, but a proper installation is always a good idea. You might want to ask in the AppleWorks forum, if that does not solve the problem.
Oh, and check your fonts. Some fonts that worked with OS 9 cause problems with OS X.

  • Pages and Number documents are blank

I believe this was a problem earlier for others, but any Pages or Numbers document I open appears to be blank. The data is still there, so I can select a cell in Numbers and the contents are still shown in the bar above, but no text, images or rules are shown in the page.
This is a huge issue - most of my business proposals are Pages docs.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
    Mac OS X (10.6.7), iWork '09 (Pages 4.04 and Numbers 2.05)

In addition to using the combo update for Snow Leopard, you should have the iWork apps updated to 9.0.5. I'm not sure how you updated Numbers without updating Pages as well.

  • Documents are blank

We recently upgraded from Acrobat 5 to Acrobat 9. When we run programs in Delphi 5, pdf documents that were created with Acrobat 9 are displayed or printed as a blank page. We have no problem printing or displaying forms created with Acrobat 5. This has happened with different versions of Reader, so the problem isn't there. We had been using iSed QuickPdf to create temporary pdf files to be displayed/printed in Delphi. The temporary files aren't getting loaded for the Acrobat 9 reports, so we suspect there's something in Acrobat 9 that keeps iSed from working. Ised/QuickPdf no longer exists. Does anyone know of a way around this problem? Right now our best hope is to find our old Acrobat 5 disks and reinstall it.
    Thanks

Under Description the Application is iSEDQuickPDF 3.64. (www.sedtech.com). There's a page with only 'www.wedtech.com' at that website. Under Advanced the PDF producer is the same and the PDF Version is 1.4 (Acrobat 5.x). This is where we think the problem is. There's an incompatibility between Acrobat 9.0 and iSED. We need to know if there's another product or something we can put in our app (written in Object Pascal) that will enable us to populate and print/display pdfs.

  • Upgraded to OSX 10.9.2; Pro Acrobat documents are blank when emailed

I upgrade my system to OSX 10.9.2. I am using Acrobat Pro. My template forms work fine but when emailed, they show up and arrive as blank documents. Any suggestions as to how this can be fixed?

Numbers is not an Excel clone. Importing and exporting between Numbers and Excel will eventually build up glitches.
If the university only works with 'Windoze' it might be better if you use Excel or a free version of Office (for example, Libre Office or Open Office).
If your marks depend upon a professor who uses Excel, go with the flow.

  • Anyone know why Yahoo emails will not load? Emails, including those I could previously access are blank. No problem with seeing them when using another browser

Yahoo mail--can access inbox but cannot access individual emails. Have tried disabling all add-ons, but there is no difference. Emails are visible using another browser.

I am modifying the correct httpd.conf file on the server, it just doesn't seem to work. - If I put the rewrite rules in the <Directory /> the rewrite works but it adds /Library/WebServer/Documents to the URL.
I also tried putting the rewrite rules in <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> but that did not work either.
mod_rewrite is enabled and running on the server.
I will post the rewrite rules again in the code brackets. Sorry for the long post. - If some one can try them out on their Leopard Server to see if they can get them to work, it would be much appreciated. Again, these work on my Leopard Client but I can't get them to work on Server.

  • When I start firefox, the previous tabs are there but blank and say new tab, can I restore the tabs?

When I start firefox, the previous tabs are there but blank and say new tab, can I restore the tabs?
    how can I do this?

I'm not sure what causes this.
As the first step, I recommend backing up your existing sessionstore files.
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Scroll down to the files whose names start with sessionstore. You should find at least sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak. If the .js extension does not appear on sessionstore, you should turn off the Windows feature that hides file extensions from you, so that you can work with file names as accurately as possible. This Microsoft support article has the steps: [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/865219].
Make backup copies of all the sessionstore files to somewhere like your Documents folder for possible later restoration.
Next, try one of the data mining techniques in these posts to rescue the URLs from the sessionstore.js or sessionstore.bak file:

  • When I create a PDF from Excel, there are blank cells in Excel document, when they convert to PDF the blank cells have data in them?

There are cells in the excel document that have formula's in them.  The formulas are pulling data from other blank cells, so that is why they are blank in the formulated cells.  So in Excel, they are just a dash.  When I create the PDF, the document gets opened in Acrobat and the once blank cells have data in them.  Not sure why there is data in those fields on the PDF if its blank on Excel.

Not really sure that I fixed the problem, but I did find a work around and wanted to post it if someone else runs across the same issue. Apparently the document creator used lots of custom rules and shading. If I pulled up the custom rules and shading palette and just unchecked both the custom ruling and shading boxes, it allowed me to create the print file correctly--the disappearing part numbers were on the new PDF. I didn't have to update the whole book which I didn't want to do because I feared it would mess up the rules and shading. Just unchecking the box before creating the PDF solved that issue for my purposes.

  • My downloads and documents are now attached as blank pages .

    Only happened recently
Recipients have complained that the attachments are blank.
They have all been succesfully downloaded or saved but appear as 0.1 kb on the e mail.
    Any advice?

I'm sorry, but in what way?
Do you mean the encrypted document you want to view shows nothing but a blank page when you give the password?
Or do you mean the icon for the PDF is blank and doesn't show a preview? I'd imagine that's because it's encrypted and so probably assumes a preview shouldn't be shown.
Or do you mean encrypting the PDF document causes the document to initially appear blank? Is it still blank once you close it, reopen it and provide the password?
Maybe some steps of what you are doing so it can be replicated by others to try out, too.

  • Not opening all my previously opened windows, many are blank!

Why does Safari randomly choose not to open all my previously open windows? Sometimes up to half the tabs/windows show up BLANK.
Often, I'll see the headings written in the tabs in the toolbars, but when I go to them, they are blank, and I must re-enter the page name manually, do a search, then load the correct one. Other times it will just be blank (usually when it's a single window, since the page name is not in the tab toolbar. WHY is it doing this?
Will clearing past history remove the ability to open a window that is open when I close Safari?

Context = this problem has nothing to do with images.  The blank pages contain no content at all, no source code.  There is simply nothing to reload.
They have headers only, which safari seems to remember separately as tab info.  The rest is gone.
I've deleted caches through prefs and developers tools.  All the other tabs refresh.  The "random", ones stripped of their URLs, do not.
So what is causing this?  Is there a pattern?  Why are only certain pages effected (some identical to the healthy tab next to it)?  Are they cloned tabs?  Is it plug-in related?  Google searches?  Old searches?  Why are they flushed from recent history?   Does it relate to icloud synching errors?  Is the content actually lost during "sleep" mode or application launch?
Has anyone really posted a fix for this?
Saxman is asking exactly the right questions.
Saxman, do you keep multiple pages of multiple tabs open every day? I do. Are some of them reduced in the dock?  Are they google search results?  New or reloaded every day?
Next time this happens to you, check to see if that blank page is still in your deep history list.  (We know that "reload tab" does not work).   In the history menu, choose "show top sites".  Then click the history button to view all your pages in cover-flow view.  Is the url info still there?   (You can use the search function here as well).
Do any of the questions I've posted ring a bell?
