Unlocked T-Mobile Blackberry 8220 Flip and other Network Providers

Hello Everyone,
Just bought an unlocked t-mobile blackberry pearl 8220 flip phone and wondering if there will be any issues with my service provider in regards to mms, gprs or BIS? Currently have a sim with mms and gprs access for my Sony Ericsson T306, i know these t-mobile branded phones have imbedded apps for t-mobile like tzones etc and you can't really get gprs access whether provisioning it manually or automatically from service provider. Does anyone had any issues or solutions can help me out.

Probably.  I don't see that you have stated your carrier, so it could vary.
You should be ok, but in most cases, on a BlackBerry, a MMS Transport service book is required for MMS messages to carry the 'data' portion of the MMS message. Realizing that MMS is nothing more than an SMS text message with a file, or data, attached, the carrier pushes a service book to your device which enables the data portion of the SMS.

  • Using My Blackberry 8220 flip with a Mac

I am a new user of the 8220 flip and I have been getting frustrated with learning to use the features I am used to using on my old phone.  Also, I have a macbook that I use and a Dell PC desktop at work and would like to be able to synch my contacts and calendars with my phone between the macbook and PC.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, especially on learning the phone.  The tutorial online is very limited.

  • Blackberry 8220 Flip phone gives red light, then shows clock and repeats...... forever....!

Hi I have a blackberry pearl 8220 flip that's bricked. It goes from a long red light to the clock loading screen and continues until by battery is dead.
I have tried reloading the current OS available (v4.6.0.174) through the latest blackberry desktop manager several times, and I did select the options to completely wipe all data on the pearl. I got the desktop manager to detect the phone by taking out the battery at first, and then putting it in. The reload worked properly, everything got wiped off and the os was reinstalled. It worked for a couple of hours, but the problem pops up again. I've even tried reloading an older os (4.5) but it doesn't work either.
    Please help...

Hmmm...OK, then you might need to completely wipe it out first and then reload the OS...see this:
    http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-wipe-jl_cmder-53502/
If that fails, then you are probably ready for warranty support -- from your carrier.
    Good luck!

  • Blackberry 8220 Flip phone - problems with calendar

I just upgraded to a Blackberry Flip and when I inserted my SIM card from my other phone, the calendar appointments were all lost.  Is there any way I can retreive those entries?

The 6085 comes with a cd, the program is Nokia Pc Suite, install the cd to the pc and synch all the information in the phone to Outlook, after this synch the Blackberry device through Blackberry Desktop manager and Outlook.

  • Blackberry 8220 Flip phone - problems with downloads

I came across two problems with the downloads and I'm wondering if anyone else has the same problems??
#1 - I downloaded "facebook" to my handheld, and after the download was complete, my phone was shut down and when it came back on again, facebook did not recognize my email/password.  I registered using my blackberry email and password and that is what I used to try to login into facebook.  I eventually deleted facebook from my downloads, because I really didn't know what to do ... so I thought I'd try here.
#2 - After deleting facebook, I thought I'd download Yahoo! Messenger, as I'm familiar with that.  Only thing is, after the download, I could not find the icon to get into Yahoo! Messenger anywhere.  It was not in my downloads folder, nor could I find it anywhere else??  I found it was added to my "normal" profile on the phone, but was at a loss as to where to find the shortcut?
I have not read all the forums (my bad - I'm a newbie, but I did look around!), and it appears that no one had discussed these download problems (yet).  My apologies if they have been discussed earlier - has there been a solution for these?

  • HT4623 want to unlock iphone to other network providers need help

trying to unlock iphone so i am able to use any other network but ive tried and i just cant seem to do it does anyone know other ways of unlocking the phone need hel please

The only ones who can unlock your iPhone is your phone company/carrier.
You need to contact them and if they offer unlocking for your phone then ask them to unlock it and if they don't, there is nothing you can do.  In this case, you either need to purchase another phone that is fully and officially unlocked or you need to continue to use your phone with your current operator.
Contact your phone comapny/carrier directly - they are the ONLY ones who can help you.

    Thanks in Advance..

It has to be configured on both sides.
X and Y are unused networks in this example: Site A has to hide 172.16.1.0/24 behind X when communicating to Y, site B has to hide 172.16.1.0/24 behind Y when communicating to X. The users in site A have to use Y as a destination, users in site B have to use X as destination. To make it usable for the users you should include the destinations in the DNS so that they never need the destination-IP.
On the ASA you describe the communication 172.16.1.0/24 -> Y with an access-list and add that ACL to your static-command. You find an example here:

  • FW uppdates and the network providers part

Why does every one in this forum, including Nokia care, blaming the network providers for not releasing the latest FW uppdate?
I and many with me has purchased their phone unlocked, unbranded, without network licence and still "Mr. knowitall" and Nokia tells us" Talk to your network provider" What do they have to do with it?
My product code is the only one that doesn´t support the firmware v.20 it is available for the other two scandinavian product codes.
Im sick and tired of standarised answers fron customer support.
Check your product code on..bla..bla..bla. I´ve done that 100 times. The store have no idea what "product code" is so they call Nokia care, and Nokia care tell me to contact my network provider....and my network provider says "we have no responsibility when it comes to firmware...
Pleeeeeease someone have a correct answer.
Mabey I just drop it in the ocean and get a brand new one fron insurance and hope that one have a different code :-)

For generic undranded sim free phones:
These always get the new firmware first but not all languages get released at the same time. Some take longer than others to be adapted.
For network branded or sim locked phones:
Nokia sends the firmware to the networks as soon as it's finished, the networks need to approve, test and brand it before sending it back to nokia for distribution. Some networks do this quickly, others don't bother at all.
The networks will always blame the hardware makers because they don't know any better. Most tech support people nowadays read from a script or use a trouble shooting wizard.

  • BlackBerry 8220 Flip...

    Hello all.
I'm having some trouble with my BB flip phone.
Just yesterday I tried accessing an online site in an area where there was low connectivity. I accidentally pressed "Save Request". Once I was in an area in which the website could be accessed, I got a little icon at the top of my display (when phone is opened) near the date (near where the 'new' text message icon shows up). The icon is a yellow globe.
After this happened I tried accessing the site with success, but the yellow globe icon will not disappear.
I turned off my phone to get various emails from BBSupport from when I first activated my BBmail account...
And the globe is still there.
Any suggestions on how to get rid of the globe icon?
    Thank you all.

  • Blackberry 8220 Flip Black problems with Bluetooth headsets/caller cannot hear me

Problems with 3 headsets. Eralier it was working fine. but now I can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear me or anything from my side over the bluetooth headset. Otherwise without the headset the phone and the speakerphone work just fine. Any ideas????

I am experiencing the same problem, started about 10 days ago. To date, I have reset network settings, and have restored to default without success.
The weird thing with my issue I've noticed, after I go through a half dozen attempts at calling and recalling the person back, eventually, the problem goes away and the caller can hear me without issue after that. But then that may just be the 50% of the time occurrence.
So, I wonder if this is signal related, although it has occurred in 3 different locations in the US. Or if there is some restricted, or privacy policy that is related to AT&T regarding my account when calling. Kind of like being on a no fly list?
However, I can't continue with this happening, everyone says I am give Steve Jobs a bad name, so its to the genius bar or whatever they call it these days, I am heading.

  • IPhone and other service providers? (not at+t)

Does anyone know when iPhone is going to be released to non-AT+T service providers? Why did they sign an exclusive contract with them?
I would get an unlocked iPhone but I heard that you lose all data when updating if not on the AT+T plans. Is this true? I need to have Tmobile for their extensive European coverage, but really, really want an iPhone...

    1. Not at least until 2012/13 due to the 5 year exclusivity agreement between Apple & AT&T
    2. Because AT&T agreed to Apple's demands for control and revenue sharing. The other three networks were too greedy. Plus Verizon & Sprint have strikes against them because they don't use the world-wide GSM standard. You can't use their phones in Europe, for example.

If you want to use an iPhone in Europe, you can get a reasonable plan from AT&T, or possibly rent/buy an iPhone in Germany where T-Mobile IS the exclusive provider.

  • UK service provider can no longer unlock my iPhone for US use, and US service providers and Apple store say that only my UK service provider can unlock this phone. Help!

I bought this iPhone while backpacking through Europe 2 years ago. It was the first thing i did after i got off the airplane to help me navigate, book hostels, trains, flights, and talk with family back home. it cost me around 700-800 US dollars, full price since they do pricing/contracts different over in the UK.
It's been a couple years, and I'm ready to ditch my 6 year old Samsung and move on to this iPhone. The problem is, since i wasn't using the UK service for a while, they dropped my number/user account completely and they can no longer unlock my iPhone. I talked to AT&T and the Apple store, and they said that the only way I can unlock my iPhone is by contacting the service company that i originally purchased this from--whom can't help since i no longer have an account with them.
How do i LEGALLY unlock this iPhone for use in the US?

Only the wireless provider to which an iPhone is locked can unlock it.
You may have to get a PayAsYouGo sim from that provider to activate
your account with them so you can get the iPhone unlocked.
There is not other legal way to unlock the iPhone for use with other than
the wireless carrier to which it is locked. Contact them to see what options
they offer for re-activating the iPhone on their network.

  • Safari and other network issues

Problem 1: Since I upgraded to Leopard, I have not been able to use Safari for web browsing. When I attempt to access a page, I receive the following message:
    Forbidden
You don't have permission to access http://www.google.com/ on this server.
Apache Server at www.google.com Port 8100
I get this message for all sites tried. The interesting thing is that I can connect via FireFox 3 to any page I try. Also, my wife on older Safari version in OSX10.4.x can also connect fine.
Problem #2: Cannot connect to my idisk since upgrade to 10.5 and Mobile Me.
When I attempt to conncet to my idisk, I receive the message:
Your iDisk is not available because connecting to the idisk server failed.
An unexpected error occurred.(error code -5016)
I have tried doing both of these from work and home on different networks. I think the problem is local to my machine. I can connect to the internet and network in other ways fine. Firefox works fine, IE via Parallels works fine (except it is within windows - but that is another story). I can file share and access other machines fine.
    Anyone have any thoughts?
    thanks.

Thanks for your answer Barney-15E. It turned out that Comcast had set a proxy when they last serviced my cable modem and it was routing everything through port 8100.
For the benefit of others who may have the same problem. If you find a Comcast Proxy in your proxy settings looking something like this:
    Address: actsvr.comcastonline.com
    Port 8100
You can delete it. Found this response on another forum and it seemed to do the trick:
"This is a simple fix. You have a proxy checked (Comcast is famous for this) in your Internet Explorer. Go to Tools->Internet Options. Then, click on "Connections" and then "LAN Settings". Under "Proxy Server", it likely has the box checked. Mine said:
    Address: actsvr.comcastonline.com
    Port 8100
This, for me, was a clear Comcast hack that they probably did when when they installed new service. Just uncheck the box and clear out the "Address" and "Port". Then, click on "Ok"."

  • Remote App (and other network apps) Stop Connecting

My network consists of the latest generation Time Capsule and Airport Express (for Air Tunes) with several pieces of hardware connected:
    -MacBook Pro
    -Mac Mini
    -Apple TV
    -iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch
My problem lies with making connections to my MacBook Pro using the Apple Remote app or Air Video.
*The Remote app will connect just fine, but after a few days I try to connect and it will timeout.* The only thing that seems to solve this is to restart my Time Capsule. Then again Remote and Air Video work fine on my local network for a few days, then they will start timing out when they try to connect.
Interestingly, when I try to re-pair my Remote with iTunes when it if failing to connect, the remote will appear in iTunes, but when I enter the passcode to pair it will similarly timeout. So, I know my remote and iTunes see each other, but they won't seem to "talk."
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, just wanted to check to eliminate the most obvious possibility.
Sorry, no other ideas at this time. Perhaps someone else here will have a suggestion, though this not being an iTunes issue, per se, you might have more luck in the Apple TV, Time Capsule or MBP forums.
    Regards.
