Unlocking Audio Tracks Imported from Firestore Product

I've imported audio and video from a Firestore product into FCP 5.1.4.
Interviewee mic on Ch. 1 and camera mic on Ch. 2.
Place the clip in the timeline...
I'd like to delete one of the audio tracks...in this case Ch. 2.
When I lock one of the audio tracks, I am still unable to delete the other audio track...even though the timeline track is not locked.
A work-around is to just mute the track that I'd like to delete, but I was wondering if it's possible to separate the audio that was imported from the Firestore product.

I think the issue isn't the Firestore. If the track(s) are linked as a stereo pair, you can't delete just one. But it's easy to select and then unlink. After that, you should be able to delete just one (or mute it separately for that matter).

  • How can I increase the volume on an audio track imported from a GarageBand project, beyond the  11

I have an audio track, mp3, originally recorded in GarageBand, but with an recording level set too low.  I've now adjusted the volume in the audio track to the max, but during playback it's still rather quiet.  I have to turn the volume on my Mac to the max to have it at an acceptable playback level.  Is the any why to increase the volume on that track any further?

  • How to make the audio track independent from the video track?

Can someone remind me how to make the audio track independent from the video track? My memory just went blank. Must be the age.

    Hi -
Select the clip in the timeline.
Type Command + L or go to the menu Modify > Link to toggle it off.

  • Copy and Paste audio track MIX from one track to another??

    Hi
What's the best way to handle this.
I have a video with one long music track, that I mixed using Adobe Premiere's Audio Mixer.
The musician made a new version of the track with some very slight modifications in the music.
Rather than having to remix the entire new track, I would prefer to either:
    1) Copy and paste the attributes of the orginal audio track onto the new music track -- retaining the Mix I did from the original mix.  Is this possible?  I tried it once and it did not seem to work.  (I used the Mixer, not keyframes, to do all of the mix.)
    or
    2)  Is there a setting in Premiere's Audio mixer to "gang" the new track to the old one -- with the new track cloning the old track's mix.
Or would it be better to bring the two audio tracks into Soundbooth and do it there?
    Thanks,
    ...Rowby

    Thanks Colin
I did a complicated mix on one long background music track and was not looking forward to doing that remix because of various minor music changes made by the musician scattered throughout that long track.
Your Alt (for replace solution) worked perfectly and saved me a ton of time.
The fact that Copy attributes for Audio doesn't work for copying audio keyframes is another reason do do audio mixes using the Mixer instead of using keyframes to adjust volume.

P.S.   And a big LIKE to Adobe's clever programmers for including features like these.

  • Tracks imported from CDs prior to 11/08 not playing correctly

95% of the tracks I imported from CDs prior to November of 2008 will not play back correctly in I-tunes or on my Ipod. Tracks that have been imported since then are fine.
If I go directly to the MP3 file on my hard drive and play it through Windows Media Player it plays fine.
Import settings are MP3 High Quality 160 kbps.
If I delete the track in I-tunes and re-import it from the MP3 file on the hard drive it still doesn't play correctly or won't import it at all.
If I delete the track and corresponding file on the hard drive and then re-import the track through I-tunes it is OK.
Is there anyway to "repair" the old transfered files or am I looking at wasting 20 hours of my life deleting and re-importing all of these tracks?

  • Audio track resumes from beginning after pause?

My iPod Classic is giving me problems dealing with long audio tracks (such as 1 hour long podcasts like TWIT.) when I pause well into a track and then click again to resume, I often find that the track resumes from the beginning, not where it was paused. Is this a known or fixable problem? Help!

It may have something to do with how the track is saved in iTunes. In iTunes, right click on the track and select "Get Info". From there, you will find a tab called "Options", select it.
Once there, you will see a bunch of different and useful things. In your specific case, check "Remember playback position". That should solve your issue. But also look at the rest of these options. You can better identify your media by selecting a more proper "Media Kind" etc.
    Hope that helps,
    i

  • Multiple audio tracks playout from FCPX.

Hi, How do i handle multiple audio tracks to play directly from FCPX. Previous versions of FCP gave the freedom of assigning an audio pair to an sdi pair.

Aside from the possible legal ramifications of what you are doing with other people's copyrighted property, some of the trailers are obviously plain old stereo while others are Dolby 5:1 Surround.

  • Why video with two audio tracks imports like one track (main)?

Ok, lets face one simple thing that is incredibly stupid in Premiere CC:
    - I make video with two audio tracks (screencast with system sounds and microphone, separated)
    - Import it to Premiere CC and see only one audio track, system sounds!
    - What should I do to see both of them?
    - Why Sony Vegas don't make me to go to support forums and make them both visible without extra actoins?

    Great first post!

Channel Map the Audio to do what you want it to do with t e source clip.

  • Adding slideshow to audio track downloaded from Itunes

I can get to the part alright about adding the slidshow to the audio track but then I can't do anything. I can't save export nada. It is really fustrating as I got it to a point where I like the slideshow but then it just won't save the file. Not at all. I check the info and see the audio and video are there but I can't go any further.

The music downloaded from iTunes is protected and thus you can't export it to another form. You may be able to make a CD from a playlist that includes the tune and then re-inport it that way in unprotected form.

  • Audio tracks missing from footage

I was working on a project in the trial version using some footage I shot, and after I switched over to the full version, the audio tracks had completely disappeared. Moreover, much of the footage is listed as 'media offline' in the project itself, but when I reinsert the footage in a new project, it works just fine (except for the audio).
    Please help!

  • No right channel audio on import from stero videos

When I import files using the import from camera command I loose the right channel from my videos but when import my videos using the import files command and import videos previously captured with FCP 7 the right channel is there. Why is FCP X not recognizing stero videos when importing from camera? Anyone else having this problem?

I have had exactly the same problem. See my posts. I found this happens when creating a camera archive from mini dv. When importing direct into the event (not using an archive), or extracting the files from the archive in the finder and importing directly using import files, it works! Please report the bug to apple.

  • Audio not importing from PP to AE (5.5)

I am baffled and hope that some one can help. I am working with a third party AE Template (No pluggins) and I have tried several ways but still no audio imports to AE. Original footage is from an HD Camera CF card and was pulled into my Mac as options: .CIF, .CPF, .XML, .MXF & .SIF.  The MXL (VLC File) is what I used for import into PP, which works great, however, when I start working in AE, no audio is pulled in. I have check on RAM Preview and even the Waveform is blank in the comp???
Any ideas, project due 7/10/13, starting to panic!
    Robert

I did a quick search and found that there's a Canon import utility to wrap all of these files up in a package that can be easily read. You'll find a doc here that explains it.
There are also several discussions about workflow with this camera on the net. There are discussions in the Premiere forum suggesting that a good alternative workflow is to use the Media browser to import your files into Premiere Pro. From there you could right click on a clip and select Create After Effects Composition.
This camera is not unlike others that split audio and video into separate files. Before they can be effectively used in production the elements need to be combined into a single container. That's what import utilities are for.

  • Audio not importing from MTS files

I have AME CS6, and when I import an MTS video, the audio does not get included for some reason.
After installing AME CC, when I import the same MTS file, the audio does get included.
Does anyone know how to correct this in AME CS6?
First image is from AME CS6:
This image is from AME CC:

Changing the Import method can sometimes resolve these types of issues. With any of the "memory card" cameras, important to use this method -
    1) Copy ENTIRE contents of SD card to your hard drive, all folders intact (do not use "transfer utility/conversion" software)
    2) In Premiere, use the MEDIA BROWSER to find and import media (usually tabbed at lower left side of Premiere interface).
    Hope this helps.

  • No Audio in import from iPhone after 24 seconds

First, I'm not an iMovie expert in the least, but I've been trying to work through it and learn as I go.  I'm having a problem where I'm trying to import video clips from my iPhone, and after I go back and watch the imported clip, the audio stops after 24 seconds.  It does it with every imported clip from the phone, every time.  And, like clockwork, it stops after 24 seconds every time.
I also have a JVC camcorder which I've imported clips off of its SD card, and all those import just fine.  So it's only having the problem with the clips from the iPhone.  I can play the clips both on the phone and in the iMovie import window (before it's imported) and they play fine all the way through.  I only lose the audio after it's imported.
    Any ideas are appreciated.
    Macbook Pro OS X 10.8
    iPhone 5.1.1
    iMovie 9.0.7
Oh, one other question maybe someone can answer.  When I connect my iPhone to my mac to import, my iPhone turns its WiFi hotspot on.  This then forces my mac to use that for its internet connection instead of my home internet.  The WiFi in the menu bar still shows connected to my home network, not the hotspot, but I think it's going through the USB connection.   When it's connected and I turn off the hotspot, the phone will then disconnect from iMovie. Is this normal?  Is this how it's supposed to work?  Any way to prevent that?
    Thanks!

I had the same problem so what I did is to download a streamclip media free software, search out from google, then when the clip from memory card are downloaded onto computer I open them with streamclip media and then export them in compatible format , there is option on file menu, I don't reme, ber now as I am replying from a cPC, but this works, so save this exported clip and use it in i movie it plays sound.
