Unlocking hr account

I'm having trouble unlocking the hr account to follow along with the 2-day developer's guide. I'm using 10gXE if that matters.
I log into SQL*Plus as "system" successfully from command prompt so that I have admin privileges (I set up 2 users as system from the database homepage environment) and enter the command as it appears in the guide:
alter user hr account unlock identified by [my_password]
But then when I press enter, the screen for some reason shows a "2" on the line below my command, and then a blinking cursor right after that. I tried just waiting for a few minutes, but still nothing happens.
When I finally press "enter" again, I get the SQL> prompt, but when I exit and try to log back in as hr, I get:
ERROR:
ORA-28000: the account is locked
So, obviously my unlock attempt isn't going through... :(

I don't see why the guide doesn't point you in that direction in the first place, as it's just way easier. I guess they want you to be aware of the command prompt option in a pinch, but I really feel like that is "more advanced" than either SQL developer, which I'm guessing is going to become my default interface, or the homepage, which also seems to offer everything you need (SQL developer seems to me at first glance to offer a bit quicker navigation and easier use of SQL statements).

Sorry I didn't get to try it out (btw, I also actually did choose a real password, didn't know that that defaulted to hr, too -- ?).SQL statements at the SQL*Plus command prompt have to be terminated with a semi-colon. If you don't, it just prompts you for another line, which in your case was line number 2.

It worked. Actually i forgot to save the file.
I changed the /<zonepath>/root/etc/shadow
Removed *LK* & then from global zone did zlogin -l root zonename

Unlock user account on PIX v7.0

How do you unlock a PIX local database user account in PIX v7? You can set the account to lock after a set number of failed password attempts, but I cant seem to unlock the account. From the CLI, you can display the number of failed attempts and when the account was locked. There doesnt seem to be a command to unlock the account; the only fix I have is to delete the account then recreate it

I want to unlock a user account in Windows Server 2003.
I have read a great post at http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=716240&start=0&tstart=0
But I can not get it to work. According to the post the only thing you need to do is:
"+to unlock an account, just set the value of the attribute lockoutTime to zero+".
When I set lockoutTime to zero nothing happens. The user can still not logon.
When I read the lockoutTime attribute for an account that is locked it is empty or zero if I have tried to unlock it earlier.
So it doesn´t seem to change when the account is locked.

i have forgotten my itunes security questions, as a result I have got them wrong a few times and it has locked my account. How can I unlock the account and reset the questions with having to phone them.

You might be able to re-enable your account via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
If you have an iPhone, iPad and/or an iPod Touch you might then need to log out of your account on it by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6+) and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it
You can only reset your security questions without talking to Apple on the phone if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account - if you then the steps half-way down this page should let you reset them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get them reset.

When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add a rescue email address for potential future use

I have two major issues.
1) while installing Oracle 10g home by using password management I unlocked sysyem account. then by using this query " alter user system account lock" I locked it. when I tried to unlock it gain with the same query "lter user system account unlock", it is not unlocking. it is showing "Not Connected".And also it is showing " ora-01031:insufficient system privileges" .Please suggest how to unlock it.
2)Apart from OracleDBConsoleorcl service very other services are starting up. While starting OracleDBConsoleorc service it is showing "the file can't find the file specified".
I set the path as "C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\oc4j\j2ee\OC4J_DBConsole_SandeepaRout_orcl" were SandeepaRout is my computer name.
in cmd while I ran the command emctl it shows "EM Configuration issue. C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1/172.16.1.131_'PLSExtProc'; not found " this error.
'PLSExtProc' is the oracle_sid.
I think there is something missmatch in the path.
Please suggest what to do.

1- With which user are you logged in in order to unlock SYSTEM account?
Did you try with SYS as SYSDBA?
2- You need to set ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID.
What 'emctl status dbconsole' gives you ?
What 'emctl start dbconsole' gives you ?
Path should point to C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bin

How to unlock my account

I was trying to answer to a security question on my Ipad from apple which was what was the model of your first. Car and. My answer was Ford Focus but when submitting it keep telling me that one of my two answer is incorrect the other question was the first name of my pet . Why do I have to keep unlocking my account on iTunes?

What is causing iTunes to keep blocking my account where I have to "unlock" or "reset" it for security reasons? I am the only person who uses my phone, computer, and iTunes account. I really don't understand why I have had to do this 3 x's now in the past couple months.
