Good luck. That's what that Save As Template option is for!

  • Page Properties Locked by Template

    I am getting this error when I click on the Page Properties
    button: "All of this page's properties are locked by a template, so
    you can't edit them."
    When I look at the template in Dreamweaver they don't appear
    to be locked and when I compare the template to a template from
    another site (that doesn't have this problem in Contribute) they
    are identical.
    What am I missing?

    Yes, be sure of where the editable regions are defined in
    your code to make sure you don't accidentally have some weird piece
    of code or a tag wrapped in an 'editable region' tag.
    Also, is the file locked by Contribute? Is the Edit button
    available? If the page is locked, the page properties may be locked
    as well.

  • AEM CQ5.6 - page properties editing functionality depending on templates

    Hello everyone,
    I want to provide a view (UI touched) to the editor/user different page properties depending on the template within CQ 5.6. Let's say I have three templates which have a bunch of common page properties. Additionally they have some different properties. In the end the user should see (with UI touched overlay) different page properties depending on different templates. This is regarding to the page which already exist and also when the user want to create a page based on a special template.
    What I have done so far:
    1) For existing pages.
    For exsiting pages I have overloaded and addapted /libs/cq/gui/components/siteadmin/admin/childpage/childpage.jsp
    Additionally I have overloaded /libs/wcm/core/content/sites/bulkproperties/items/content/items/tabs/items depending on my template.
    2) No solution found for creating of new pages
    Is there a way to solve this issue in easy way? I guess the overloading "solution" on the UI touch is a way to excessive.
    If there is a way to solve it, please provide how to do it.
    Thanks in advance
    Vladimir
    To make it more clear I made a screenshot of what I want to do. Please note there is no need to touch the /libs.

    For the template to have a custom page properties in addition to the fields that belong to template that it inherits, a dialog has to be defined in template implementation and the required (new) fields should be defined in there. By doing so, the page properties will show the fields that are in parent template + that in the current custom template in question.

  • No UI Templates Option in Page Properties

    I have allowed "UI Templates" in Page Group properties. In Page properties (within the same Page Group), though, there is no "User Interface Templates" section on the "Optional" tab. How do I get this to show up? [I am logged in as admin, if that helps.]
    Thanks,
    Alan

    Alan -
    My guess is that your page is using a regular template that defines the regions, etc.
    A page can only have one template ... a regular template or a UI template. If a template is set on the Template tab, then the UI Template picker will not show on the Optional tab.
    You can set the UI template on the regular portal template. This way you page will "have both". Go to your regular template properties and set the UI template on the Optional tab there.
    Hope this helps,
    Candace

  • Page Properties- Background Color Change

    Can anyone help me here? I know how basic the subject sounds
    but for some reason it does cause me trouble here today.
    We recently had a company design our site and now we are
    using contribute to edit pages etc. Now, we have admin access so
    that isnt an issue. But when we want to start a BRAND NEW PAGE
    outside of any templates, we cannot change the background color. It
    is greyed out when you go to Format- Page Properties- Appearance.
    Its frustrating. It should be as easy as changing it, but no can
    do. Any thoughts?

    It's good then that you have adminstrator rights, because the
    solutiojn is in the role settings. You will have to edit the role
    settings to your needs.
    In the menu pick Edit, Administer websites, Choose your
    website.
    Choose Users and roles, Edit role settings
    Choose Styles and fonts
    I think you'll find all the options you need here, check the
    ones you want and of you go again!
    grtz.

  • Page Properties Panel and CSS

    In the Property Inspector I open the Page Properties dialog
    box and expect to see within the category list : Appearance, Links,
    Headings, Title/Encoding, and Tracing Image. All I see is
    Appearance. Titel/Encoding and Tracing Image. Under Appearance
    again I would expect to be able to select a page font, and it
    attributes but it starts right off with background image and its
    attrbute. Any ideas why the font info is missing?

    Can you try again, please?

  • Changing titles on pages assigned to templates

    The title field on pages assigned to templates is grayed out in the code.  I have searched help and it says the field is editable on the page after the template is assigned.  Not happening.  Help said these could be changed from Modify>Page Properties or by typing the title in the field and neither are working.  I even went to the default.html and tried to see if something was wrong, but all appeared normal.
    Any ideas?

    This is the sign of an improperly made template.
    Do this -
    Create a new page (Basic HTML).
    Use FILE | Save as Template....
    Look at the code in the head region of the page, particularly the editable
    region around the <title> tag, and the other editable region in the head
    called "head".
    Make your template file look like that.
    Always use FILE | Save as Template when you create your templates and you
    won't have this problem again.

  • New pages made From Template messed up!

    Hello,
    I have made a template that is not yet finished... I decided
    to test it out, but when I make new pages from it, the formatting
    is messed up (in any new pages that I create from the template).
    This of course is happening prior to uploading to the pages... (I
    need to make many different pages from the template but cannot
    proceed because of this...)
    If I preview the new ‘messed up’ page in Safari
    (that is by clicking the Preview button in Dreamweaver itself), it
    is almost OK, but the background image does not show up. Could
    anyone suggest what I might need to do to get the ‘new’
    page to appear fine in Dreamweaver itself.
    I am new to Dreamweaver and have just started with it since
    moving from GoLive...
    Thanks in advance.

    but now pages made

    If it would be considered a bug, then many programs would
    have it! As a
    general rule of thumb, it's best to avoid any characters in
    your
    file/pathnames other than letters, numbers, and
    hyphens/underscores. That
    would eliminate spaces, quotes, ampersands, parentheses, etc.
    > One remaining question. In the template, I used

    template, the

    It should appear, so there must be something wrong in the
    resulting code.
    Can we see it?

  • Link properties in templates

    I'm using dreamweaver cs4 in desing mode and I cannot
    understand how to make my hyperlinks appear differently than set by
    the page properties. I see some explanations on here but they all
    explain it in "code" view which is harder for me to understand.
    My problem is that I set the default link propertie in the
    "page properties" of the template. The links work fine because they
    are a dark background in the template. When I include links in the
    edit regions of the finished page with the template applied they
    are hard to read because that potion of the page has a white
    background.
    What is the easiest way to set default link colors in pages
    with different backgrounds?

    >I see some
    > explanations on here but they all explain it in "code"
    view which is
    > harder for
    > me to understand.
    As the Bard said, "Therein lies the rub". If you browse this
    group you will
    find not dozens, but hundreds of posts advising "learn HTML
    & CSS" before
    proceeding further. That is proper advice as your experience
    shows. Design
    view will allow you to do simple and basic things, kind of
    like following a
    well-beaten path. Now you want something off that path,
    specialized link
    formatting. That requires direct code modification. Sorry,
    that's just how
    it is. If you're willing to pay that price here is an
    excellent starting
    point:

  • Page Properties

    I have clicked on something that is making my page properties
    keep reverting to the default. I used to be able to go to the page
    properties and set them but now I set them and as soon as I click
    back on the area that I want to modify it automatically reverts
    back to the default font and the text color changes back to the

  • Page properties and privilege

    I need to copy an entire folder inside a pagegroup,
    and I need to change many properties.
    I just use the api wwsec_api.set_group_acl to change access privilege,
    but I need to change also other pages properties:
    - flag on access tab properties: access_setting: specify access setting (for bypass template settings)
    - flag on approval tab properties: define new approval routing and add new approval step.
    Can I use an API to do this?
    Or Can I set this properties working on portal tables directly ? And which tables?
    Thanks in advance,
    Fabio

    No, direct access to the Portal tables is not supported - you can invalidate your support agreement if you modify the schema or update the tables directly, except through the APIs and Views documented in the Portal Development Kit.

  • Page properties and logo missing after renaming folder

    When renaming one of my folders I got the message that the
    application is updating all links. The renamed pages look normal on
    my desktop when viewed in a browser. I uploaded the renamed folder
    to my website and found to my chagrin that the page logo and page

    You renamed a folder and didn't upload your images into the

  • Custom tab for page propertis- basic in sidekick

    Anybody knows how to customize the page properties tab in sidekick based on the template..

    See example under /libs/foundation/components/page. In this case you have to create a template that will extend  /libs/foundation/components/page in resourceType section this template is pointing to. Your main component will have dialog that will override page properties. For example something like this
    <items jcr:primaryType="cq:WidgetCollection">
    <tabs jcr:primaryType="cq:TabPanel">
    <items jcr:primaryType="cq:WidgetCollection">
    <advanced jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget" path="/libs/foundation/components/page/basePage/tab_advanced.infinity.json" xtype="cqinclude"/>
    <basic jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget" path="/libs/foundation/components/page/basePage/tab_basic.infinity.json" xtype="cqinclude"/>
    <bgimage jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget" allowUpload="false" cropParameter="./bgmage/imageCrop" fileNameParameter="./bgimage/fileName"fileReferenceParameter="./bgimage/fileReference" mapParameter="./bgimage/imageMap" name="./bgimage/file" requestSuffix="/bgimage.img.png"rotateParameter="./bgimage/imageRotate" title="Background image" uploadText="Drag and drop images from DAM" uploadUrl="/tmp/upload/*"xtype="html5smartimage"/>
    <blueprint jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget" path="/libs/foundation/components/page/tab_blueprint.infinity.json" xtype="cqinclude"/>
    <cloudservices jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget" path="/libs/foundation/components/page/tab_cloudservices.infinity.json" xtype="cqinclude"/>
    <image jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget" path="/libs/foundation/components/page/tab_image.infinity.json" xtype="cqinclude"/>
    <livecopy jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget" path="/libs/foundation/components/page/tab_livecopy.infinity.json" xtype="cqinclude"/>
    <YOURTABNAME jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget" title="SOMETHING" xtype="panel">
    <items jcr:primaryType="cq:WidgetCollection">
    <rtetext jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget" fieldLabel="test" height="100" name="./test" xtype="richtext">

    </rtetext>
    </items>
    </YOURTABNAME>

  • Problem editing text color and page properties due to favicon link

    I recently added a link to a sites favicon using the link tag. Following advice on the net this was added beneath the HTML tag and before the HEAD tag. I was using a Dreamweaver template for the site and it updated all pages with the new link in the non-editable area above HEAD and just after the template declaration.
    This was fine, unitl the user went to edit the site. He found that he could no longer get to page properties as he got an error that no page properties existed in editable areas... although there was an editable region for the page title. Also text color and highlighting were now disabled.
    Moving the link tag into the head area has resolved the editing issue, but it seems a strange bug. Is there some way to add something between HTML and HEAD and have it appear before the InstanceBegin of the template?

    You can edit text in any PDF by using trial version but as for as my knowledge and limited experience with Adobe I could not find any text color option in Adobe Acrobat. But you can highlight text in Adobe Acrobat. If you want to change the text color in PDF, I would like to recommend some another software which allows you to change the color of text and is available for download here.
    Let me tell you how can change text color using this software. Open PDF file > go to "edit tab" > Click "edit" then highlight text to change the color. As you can see in the below screenshot.

  • Page Properties Disabled on pages sidekick

    Hello.
      I'm trying to set some pages images, this way I may create a carousel. Ok, piece of cake, but when I try to edit my page properties on sidekick, the "Page properties..." option is disabled.
      The include for global.jsp is in the component jsp file, and I inserted the resourceSuperType property as well (mapping the page parent to foundation/components/page).
      What else should I do?

    A template is just a special kind of component. The page properties for a page are defined by the dialog associated to the page's component. Check out for example /libs/foundation/components/page/dialog for example. If you have your template's super resource type set correctly it should inherit the dialog node, but if you get the super resource type wrong and don't provide your own dialog the page properties will be disabled.
