Unnecessary screen touch during calls

During a call, when the phone is near to my face, the screen display turns off but the screen can still sense the touch.
I am busy on the call and the screen keeps on taking unnecessary commands by the touch of my face.
Please suggest a solution.

This is not normal, while the screen is off there shouldn't be any touch registered.Check if the same occurs in safe mode:

  • E7-00 screen lock during call

    Hey
I have an annoying problem with my phone: the screen lock doesn't seem to work properly during calls. The lock goes off during calls, and very often the call is accidentally put on hold, ended, or put on speaker because of unwanted touch events.
Is there a fix or workaround for this issue?

Never had that issue. It seems a buggy prox sensor.
Try installing PocketLock ( http://store.ovi.com/content/35377 ) (free) and then run it and back to homescreen. Try your finger near the E7 logo. My device locks when the finger is about 1cm far from the screen.

  • Screen blanking during call - Galaxy S4

    Greetings
I have BT Smart Talk installed on a Galaxy S4.  Installation went OK and application appears to lauch perfectly. When attempting to make a call, I can dial the number but immediately I press the green "phone up" button at the bottom of the dialler page, the screen goes grey (not black - unlike with a normal call) and there is nothing displayed at all - a completely blank grey screen.  I can continue with the call, but I cannot end the call and none of the buttons on the phone seem to work while this app is controlling the phone.  If I drag the screen from the top, I momentarily get the "end call" screen, but it is desensitised and the red "phone down" button does not work. The only way I can end the call is to power off the phone.  I have tried deselecting "Turn Off Screen During Calls" in call settings but this makes no difference to the BT App - only to the phone's own dialler.  Any thoughts?

  • Screen unlocking during call

During calls I'm unable to pass lockscreen where I have to enter 8 letters password.
Screen is working I can change keyboard, run camera, return to call etc, but when I press password field to enter password nothing happens (keyboard is not showing). It passes right after disconnection. I'm using Z1C with KK 4.4, but I don't remember if it also happened on 4.3

  • Screen lock during call

I'm sorry if this has aleady been dealt with but couldn't find anything on it.
Is there ANY way of getting the screen to lock when on a call as I'm constantly putting people on hold, mute and even dialing other numbers when on a call as my face touches the screen? I'm sure it can't just be me and my big face?!

do you have a case on the phone? If so, take it off and try using the phone.

  • Screen shutoff during call

Ive noticed during phone calls my cheek will mute my calls or put them on speaker phone. All other iphones I have seen the display shuts off when the phone is to your ear.
Do i need to adjust a setting to prevent cheek selecting?

Do you have any kind of antiscratch screen protector on the phone? It could be intefering with the cheek sensor (located just to the left of the speaker).

  • N8: question about screen lock during calling

I really like my N8 but there's annoying thing. While I'm calling, in the most cases the screen turns on and with my face I press the buttons on it. So I always end my calls unwantedly or turn on the speakers...
Is there any solution for that? I've not found any settings or software for that yet.

Sounds like the proximity sensor is faulty on your phone. You should have it checked out at your local Nokia Care point.

  • Lumia 800 constant blank screen during calls

    hi guys,
    I have a nokia lumia 800,
when im on a call the screen stays blank so i cant access any of the in call options? i dont have a screen protector on the phone, i have run the diagnostics app and the the proximity sensor is responding fine!!! so it leads me to think its a software issue? is this a common problem or am i doing something wrong?
    hope you can help.
    daniel

The screen gets turned off during a phone call when the proximity sensor is covered. This is done to avoid accidental touch screen actions when you are in a call.
If the screen gets turned off immediately when dialing a number or receiving a call, check that your phone does not have any object which may cause detection. There are various non-Nokia original screen protectors sold in the market which cover the proximity sensor causing blank screen issues during calls.
You can take the following steps to check the issue. If the screen keeps turned off, the protector may not be of the right size and will block the sensor on the upper part of the front side. Then either remove the protector or cut off the plastic from the blocking area.
Make or receive a call with the phone.
Once the phone is in a call place your hand 1cm above the screen and display will turn off.
Remove your hand and display shall turn back on.
Repeat the test steps 1,2,3 for 3 times to verify the proximity sensor function.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Since I installed iOS7, during calls my cheek interferes with the touch screen

since I installed iOS7, during calls my cheek interferes with the touch screen, switching on FaceTime or speakerphone

That is the bug, exactly. Phone rings, slide to answer, raise to ear to use as a telephone!
Getting infuriating. "Reset All Settings" worked for over a week for me, then problem returned.
Have submitted 3 bug reports to http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone

  • I am having problems using my iphone4 during calls. When any part of my facial skin touches the screen, it would either go mute, hold, speaker or whatever part my skin accidentally touches the screen. The other caller then cant hear me

I am having problems using my iphone4 during calls. The screen does not automatically lock to prevent any part of my skin or face from touching it. When my skin touches the screen it would either go mute, hold, divert to speaker phone or calls another in my contact list. The person i'm talking to then cannot hear me suddenly when in mute or hold. Is there any application for my iphone4 like a "screen lock" when it is being used on calls?

  • Screen becomes non-responsive during calls

    Hello:
I am having an occasional, but seemingly becoming more frequent, problem in which the screen becomes non-functional during calls. My immediate impression is of removing the phone from my ear to end a call and the screen not lighting up. Eventually, after I played with the buttons (which may or may not have really helped) the phone lit up. This has also happened when the phone was ringing, making it impossible to take the call.
I am using the most current firmware, but believe the problem began with an earlier version. It just seems more frequent. I cannot reproduce the problem on demand.
    Ideas? Solutions?
    David

The proximity sensor, which is what tells the phone to turn off the touch screen when the phone is against your face to prevent "cheek dialing", is located just above the ear speaker hole. Do you have a case or anything else on the phone that could possibly be blocking the sensor?

  • Auto off of screen during call.

My Lumia 520 screen doesn't get off automatically when handset is put on ear during call.
many times the speaker gets switched on or call get ended by accidental touch of cheek during calls.

Try a soft reset by holding both the power and volume down buttons pressed until the phone vibrates and restarts. If that doesn't help, take it to a Nokia care point to have the proximity sensor checked and repaired. You can find the one nearest to you by clicking on the Support link at the bottom of the page.

  • During call switch off display to black screen

During call suddenly switch off display to black screen. Calling continues normaly , but is not possible finish this , I must switch off and on full iPhone...... And once one problem - I was think, so this is problem cohere with " Show My caller ID " in setting and now I see, so this function is OFF and is not possible switch ON..... Can you help me any ?

When you make a call or get a call, the screen is supposed to turn off when you bring it to your ear (it has proximity sensors that activate when on a call). It does this so your face doesn't touch the screen while active and push a button.
When you pull it away it is supposed to turn back on.
If it doesn't turn back on there are two possible causes. First case is those that buy and use a case for the phone. If you have a case, there is a good chance you are either using an older case (made for first gen iPhone) on a newer iPhone 3G or your case is just poorly designed. Either way, some cases have a habit of covering the sensor thus it cannot tell when you put the phone to your face or pull away.
If you have a cases (especially if an older case on a new iPhone 3G) remove it and see if the problem continues.
The other possible problem is just a bad sensor. So if you are not using a case and having this problem, take unit to an Apple Store for replacement.
My guess is that you are using a case that was made for the 1st Generation iPhone and not the new iPhone 3G (there is a difference...you cannot use an older case on the newer phones).

  • Screen not turning off during call

When I am holding the phone up to my ear, the screen goes black, but if I move it away just a little bit the screen lights back up. So during calls I am hitting keys on the touchpad, placing the call on hold, muting calls, etc.
This was not a problem on my 3g. Is there a way to fix this?

This is a proximity sensor known issue, will be addressed by apple in the next update (4.1), they still in the beta3 testing:
